KenModi:

The bolded part of your statement makes it crystal clear. It was a collective effort.

Now I would tell you why I would not be doing my part to develop my country called Nigeria. The reason is because we are talking about the following group of people...

1. A people who do not hesitate to steal when they are given access to public funds.

2. A people who when someone declares his intention to run for office all they care to ask is about his political party, ethnicity/tribe or what part of the country he is from, what religion he professes, how much he is ready to drop to settle everyone, who his/her political godfathers are, how connected is he/her politically, e.t.c. No questions asked bout credibility, integrity, experience and previous developmental and progressive achievements.

3. A people who sell their votes to the highest bidder for bags of rice, groundnut oil and/or 1-2k Naira.

4. A people who keep voting for the same political parties and politicians that have ruined their lives for the past 20 years.

5. A people whose political elites jump from one party to the other with no manifesto or political philosophy whatsoever, yet they see nothing wrong in it and they keep voting them in power when it is obvious they are not after their development.

6. A people who keep singing the praises of their oppressors.

7. A people who are religiously blind so much so that even the failures of religion in the face of the current Covid 19 epidemic could not liberate themselves from the shackles of conmen masquerading as pastors and religious men.

8. A people who when you call them to protest for their own development would not only fail to come out but would tag you a vagabond and someone desperate for power.

Tell me are the aforementioned people ready or willing to make the sacrifice and work hard to develop their country? Well you already have your answer.

In conclusion, I have said it times without number, people like Sowore are just wasting their time, fighting for a people not worth fighting for. If he is killed today by the govt in power, he would only trend for a day or two with the hastag “ripsowore” and some of the people who he was fighting for would even use his name to market their goods and services online.

Nigeria is dead and buried. The only way the people in the land currently called Nigeria would prosper and develop is if new nations spring up and they take control their resources and develop themselves, while having at the back of their minds that they are strictly on their own, so it is now or never.
Yes we agree. Nigeria is about everything u mentioned......and even worse!!
But let me tell u something. You are still a Nigerian. Nothing can change it, even when u become a citizen in that abroad. Do u know why? Because it takes only one radical policy, from a government that sees things radically and differently to send u packing right back to Nigeria, regardless of Ur immigration or residency status in that abroad.
Don't say it is impossible. In life, everything is possible. So don't talk as if u are a different breed from other Nigerians. I am sure that while u were still here, u probably was guilty of some of the things u just mentioned

seriously, things are tough for everyone. If u have the means to assist people, just do so. But do it within Ur limits and resources. Some of u guys even avoid innocent calls from folks in Nigeria, thinking everybody wants to beg them for money. Some intentionally cut off their friends, all because of money. They forget that no condition is permanent. U may one day have a need that even Ur money cannot solve, and it is those people in Nigeria, who you had cut off, that are in the position to sort it out for u. Na that day u go understand.

I know guys that are forming too busy to pick my calls, but after some years, they start calling me to help them, as the man on ground, to sort out some domestic issues. I go give them better bill na

My dear, I hope all you wrote is true and I genuinely feel bad for you. What the guy wrote about seeking God is true and I also understand that due to your situation, you feel abandoned and alone, but it doesn't negate the fact that what he said is true.

Since this your baby daddy denied the child, have you reported to the police? You can also contact human rights/welfare agency to take up the case with him cos he doesn't have a right to deny his child's paternity. Don't sit down and be looking, contact the nearest police station and explain your situation, they will drag the guy to welfare and force him to pay for the child's upkeep, after all, you didn't impregnate yourself.
very correct advice.
the baby daddy also faces a criminal charge for statutory rape (having sex with a minor since she was just 14 years then). it will be easy to blackmail him into submission. But she shud never approach the man alone. let her get a good human rights activist to help her arm-twist the man.
Giving the child up for an (illegal) adoption can be potentially bad.

BafanaBafana:
Sorry to say but most Christians up not are worse than Igbos, you can not sit down to an intellectual conversation with them because they have a terrible victim mentality. Now what Maylafiya said is the same thing you hear from them everyday. "Buhari is Boko Haram sponsor, they want to islamize Nigeria, it is all part of their plans, the lecturer failed me because I'm a Christian" (meanwhile your fellow Christian course mate is on first class) etc. That is how they gather themselves and lie, believe the lies and then go home happily.
I remember a guy dropped me from his bike one day because I countered his claims with facts. He was talking about how all southwest governors were Muslims. How Tinubu is removing Ambode because he is a Christian, how Kemi Adeosun was removed because she is a Christian. When I presented him with facts he got so angry that I am a Judas and told me to alight from his Keke.

Now listen to Maylafiya. He claimed to have gotten Intel from a repentant Boko Haram. Possibly somebody told him that someone said someone else said. My guess is that someone told him all these sweet stories just to beg money from him. He had to read out his credentials, he has PhD, he is a banker, he has been to America, they have their intelligence network (thunder) so that he will sound credible. Just in case he is not taken seriously, he had to include the south and bring talk of a civil war. Total bullshit.
The man is an agent of destabilization, probably sponsored by some foreign agents. We have a lot of such people on pulpits today.
He is lucky that we have a weak president with no balls. But what he did must surely come back to hunt him.

I am Igbo. I am a Christian. But I agree entirely with u. We know that Boko haram has sponsorship among the northern elites. But I don't believe sitting governor can be one of the sponsors, not to mention a key commander. That is plain bull shit.

In my opinion, bokoharam sponsors are mainly the top army hierarchy, and some northern too business men, I dare say, who belong to the opposition and hence are not receiving direct government patronage.

opeyemi2012:
I promised to create this thread because I noticed that a lot of nairalanders have wrong perceptions of what workers in "core civil service" really earn monthly.

Civil servants vs Public servants

According to the then Head of Service of the Federation in 2018, Ms Winifred Oyo-Ita.....

Oyo-Ita, who is a member of the minimum wage committee constituted by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017, said there is ongoing deliberation on the pay disparity between the public and civil servants.

“There is a difference between civil service and public service, civil service is a subset of public service, so you find that in the enlarged public service we have parastatals that are earning fantastic sum of money and we have military and para-military earning money that cannot be compared to that of the civil servants.

“This core group of civil servants are just about 80,000 and they earn peanuts. A driver in the civil service earn as low as N18,000 to N20,000 a month.

“You have a director who has been in the Service for over 30 years, due for retirement is having a monthly take home of about N300,000, whereas that is the starting point of some graduates in some parastatals.

“In some parastatals, fresh graduates are starting on N250,000 – N300,000 and you want the director to go and supervise such agencies.

“All the issues of pay disparity will be addressed in the Presidential National Minimum Wage committee.”

https://thewhistler.ng/fg-to-address-pay-disparity-between-civil-and-public-servants-oyo-ita/amp/

Sadly, these issues were not addressed.

https://theeagleonline.com.ng/remedy-huge-salary-disparity-in-core-civil-service-labour-urges-fg-2/

Categories of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)

BY STATUTORY FUNCTIONS
a. Ministries/Core civil service: The Ministries play a supervisory role to the parastatals. The Ministries are headed by Ministers. The head of service is the most senior civil servant.
b. Parastatals (agencies and departments): usually under a Federal Ministry or under the office of the SGF i.e Presidency.
They have more precise functions according to the Acts that created them. These are headed by DGs, EVC (as with NCC), Director (as with DPR), CFI (as with NAICOM), GMD (as with NNPC), ES (as with PEF, TETFUND) CEO (as with NEPC, NIDCOM), etc

BY SALARY STRUCTURE
a. Harmonised salary structure funded by National Treasury: These includes all Ministries and most parastatals (agencies/departments/institutes etc) whose annual budget including salaries and allowances are funded from the National Treasury. You will always find their budget estimates in the annual national budget.

MDAs in this category uses salary structures like;

CONTISS
CONUASS - for academic staff of universities
CONPSS - for core civil service/ministries. Also the poorest
CONPASS - for paramilitary agencies
CONAFSS - for armed forces
CONMESS - for medical doctors
CONHESS - for health workers
CONTOPSAL -for top officials like NASS Clerk, SAs to the President, NSA etc
CONTEDISS
CONRAISS - for research agencies/institutes
CONPOSS - for police
CONPCASS - for polytechnics and CoE
CONICSS - for intelligence community i.e DSS
etc E many gan ooooo. grin

b. Special Salary Structure funded by National Treasury: These group enjoy a special salary structure (most times 4-10 times higher) than the CONPSS (the poorest salary structure). However, they are funded from the National Treasury and are included in the national budget. e.g NEITI, NARSDA, BPE, DMO, BPP, EFCC, NIGCOMSAT, ICRC, SEC, DPR etc.

c. Self-funded agencies: Agencies under this category are revenue generating agencies. They fund themselves and therefore determine their own salary structures. NNPC, CBN, NPA, NIMASA, FAAN, NAMA, BOI, FMBN, NCC, PHCN, FIRS etc fall under this category.

BY UNOFFICIAL CATEGORISATION
On the street, among lawmakers during unofficial discussions and among job seekers, we have;

a. GRADE A/JUICY AGENCIES: Agencies that oay 200k and above monthly. Also revenue generating agencies fall into this category. For the lawmakers, these agencies have the capacity to give out mouth watering contracts. NCC, DPR, NDIC, NIMASA, PPPRA, PEF, etc

b. GRADE B AGENCIES: Agencies that pay between 80k -150k but below 200k. NACA, NHIS, NLN, most paramilitary agencies, FAAN, NABDA, NAIC etc. Most agencies fall under this category.

b. GRADE C: Agencies that pay below 80k. All ministries are also included here with the exception of Petroleum Resources, Justice and one other I cannot immediately remember. NIPOST, NIMC, and few other parastatals fall under this category.

Having said that, a level 08 officer (BSc holder) in the core civil service (Ministries and grade C agencies using the CONPSS) earn below 60k monthly as net pay. Level 09 (MSc holders at entry level) earns below 70k/monthly and PhD holders at entry level (level 10) earns below 80k monthly.

An BSc entry level staff at DPR or PPPRA (SS6 is what they call level cool will earn more monthly than a senior lecturer with over 5 years post PhD teaching experience in a federal university. If ASUU finally joins IPPIS, a Professor will earn less than an entry level BSc holder at NLNG, PPPRA or DPR.

Attached are July 2020 payslips of some civil servants in a federal agency but using CONPSS (same as the Ministries).

PS: I won't entertain any questions. I don't have any connections. I don't sell job slots. I work in a grade B and seeking to move to a grade A. No PMs please. Thank you

@allthingsgood. I promised to quote you.
where is the attachment? Or better still, show us the salary structure table of CONPSS.
U insulted me in the other thread and I let it slide. Now show us the payslip or better still a link to the salary structure table, else u will eat manure for the rest of Ur miserable life

A hardworking female entrepreneur lost her Millions worth of Investments to flood in Nibo, Anambra, According to 001.ng, all the efforts to get the state government for intervention has allegedly hit the wall too.

A blazing female entrepreneur who lost her means of livelihood to flood in Nibo Awka Anambra state. Her name is Cassandra Oma ndulue, the founder of Ndulue Farms and Fisheries—a Catfish farm which prior to the flood disaster was the biggest fish farm around Awka and its environs.

The farm held a capacity of between 90,000-120,000 catfishes in each cycle of production with over fifteen employees. But unfortunately, the farm was lost to flood, and an investment of over fifty million naira was lost in one day after a heavy downpour.

According to statistics, Anambra state has the highest demand for catfish in all of the southeast, considering that there are over 400 hotels and thousands of restaurants and bars whose major, most sought after delicacy is point and kill (catfish) with the capital city Awka Housing over 50% of them.

Little wonder why the demand for catfish in Anambra is always exceedingly high. But unfortunately, there are just very few functional fish farms within the state and Oma exploring the in demand opportunity.. As a matter of fact, 90% of fishes consumed in Anambra state are bought from towns like Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Eriwe, Ikorodu, Ibadan and even far Illorin.

On Mondays and Thursdays of every week, over a hundred tonnes of catfish are brought in from the west to different towns in Anambra state.

Aside from the entrepreneur who lost her means of livelihood to flood, Over fifteen employees of the fish farm in Nibo devastated by flood are now out of job.

LordNicvuitton:
Hi Romancelanders, don't know if it's right to share this topic here, but I'll do for now.

I'm Victory, from the East and currently a resident of Edo state. I came to this state, as an intern and thereafter, still served here and in the course of all these, I thought out and established a laundry business, which is just about 8 months old. This was to keep life going and to better bond well with the lady in my life currently.

While in Edo state, having rounded my internship & kickstarting service sometime around 2017, I met this Kiki Osemudiamen (Name changed), and it was nothing serious at 1st, cos I never really thought I'd date someone here, fact is that I never thought I'd stay beyond my service year. I met her while she was in 200l. We encouraged each other, she saw potentials and had faith in me just like I have so much faith in her. She is simplistic, encourages me to save and I in turn, encouraged her and guided her through some of her studies. She passed her 2nd MB.BS. and is currently awaiting lifting of the lockdown on schools, so she can start her clinicals.

Problem is that she came from a not buoyant family financially, and although both parents are alive, she struggles to survive/feed daily. Her dad supplies about 1000litres/trip water to households, while her mum sells at the local market. I on the other hand, came from a middle class family but my Dad is late since 2012, and I've been a sponsor of my education and that of my younger ones through the lil I inherited (which mum manages for now) plus my various endeavours. She depends on me for daily meals and other basic essentials, in fact I had to place her on salary in my laundry shop during this lockdown, so she plays the role of secretary in my shop too.

The latest challenge came about, yesterday. While she slept in the shop, I was out on errand, someone sneaked into the shop and stole her android phone with all of her e-medics textbooks (she reads mostly e-copies because she can't afford hardcopies), she has been crying all through and I really don't know what to do. Since I knew her, She'd been an appendage and an extra financial burden to me, I can't begin to list what I've done for her, although I kept reminding her never to not have entitlement mentality and she does appreciate. Out of desperation to ease her pain, I promised to sponsor her in getting a new phone. I have burdens, huge ones, I'm yet to acquire a diesel engine for my laundry (I use ponytail industrial iron which has higher voltage/current than normal ones), plus other related merchandise that I need to set up and I feel like she slows down my financial pace.

Honestly, I don't do all these for her, hoping for any personal gains, in the words of my daddy in the Lord, Prophet T.B. Joshua, He said and I quote: "We make a living by what we get and we make a life by what we give" but I am almost fed up and tired, especially when I remember that both her parents are still alive.. I am scared that that for the 1st time, I may fail her in that financial obligation because I honestly need money now, with the whole pandemic issue plus, I feel like she slows me down in life financially and a huge burden to me. Right now, she's so attached to me, more so that when I initially wanted to hault our relationship, it almost nearly affected her academics negatively. Please I need matured minds to help me think this through and garnish me with advice(s) because I almost feel so choked up and a rising urge to relocate from here, so i can breathe again.

NB: Advice from married couples and those in serious relationships, will be highly appreciated.

Modified: She went to her bank (First bank) this morning, only to be informed that about 20k (Her mum's business money) has been used to purchase recharge voucher. Her mum sends/receives money from distant customers through her account. Yesterday's scenario, all over again. Please folks, lock your SIM cards just as much as you lock your phones. Learn from this painful experience please.
my brother, I would have said u shud dump the girl. But I won't say so. This girl has potential. She is very serious with her academics, and since she depends on u alone, I assume she does not sleep around. I know Ur fear. U don't want to invest so much only for her to go and marry another man. I wud suggest that, if u truly love her, then consider the option of marrying her NOW. But, PLEASE, No give am belle until she graduates and becomes a doctor. Please don't spoil her future. If u marry her, I believe u will feel comfortable spending all u can on her. It is not really a big deal, as long as u don't bring in kids to complicate life right now

OK. We are all good people/tribe in Nigeria exception of some bad eggs which comes in individual form, not a whole tribe or people.

Please,

Greetings to you all, please I'm doing this at this point because I'm already dying as I can't handle it again strongly believing some help come my way. I'm a widow with 4 children and with aged mother under my care. First, I'm not claiming to be a teacher because teachers seem to be most vulnerable at the moment when I am not. I'm actually a teacher in a private school (I have every proof you may want). If I am lying or doing this to scam, judgment will be upon me. Like I said, I am doing this because it has gone beyond my control at this point. The family is solely taken care of by salaries earned from the teaching practice and that happened last in the month of February. Right now, we are in a very pitiable situation with nothing to call our next meal again. Please help us with any little amount you can. Not like you are owing us anything but please have mercy on us. Consider my situation please. Let's not die of starvation please. I believe God will see us through these challenges. Thank you very much.

Agriculture / Re: Advice On How To Manage A Gumboro Endemic Farm by obstead200(m): 5:41pm On Jul 23, 2020
This my post is over 2 years old. Well, just for education purposes, I guess I will narrate what we did differently to stop the recurring IBD.
We relocated the brooding rooms so that it does not share same access corridor with the matured laying birds.
We switched to B2K and similar vaccines. We followed a strict and aggressive medication programme.
Disinfectant water is compulsory in all rooms until at least 12 weeks old.

We have successfully raised 3 batches from DOC without gumboro issues. We did not even have to clear out the farm completely, even though I wud have loved to do so but commercial reasons and the need to remain trading made me decide against it. I still wish I can bring myself to clear out my farm and rest in for about 6months, but I fear I might not be able to rise back to my present capacity within reasonable time.......all those witches wey dey siphon cash from person pocket are just lying around. As soon as u sell of Ur stock and start resting the farm, dey will enter and start draining Ur cash even before u restart

When you first met her,she was in the age bracket of 22 to 23years old.She must have had alot of suitors and options.Hence her nasty attitude towards you because you weren't her spec.Fast forward 3 years and the suitors and options have dried up hence her desire to get married as soon as possible to any available option that's why you see her cooking, sweeping and other bullshit that easily impresses Nigerian men
If you eventually marry her,she will change back to her nasty attitude when you first met her.Classic bait and switch
true sha.

Any girl who once felt u are not her class, will definitely feel so again in future. Except u upgrade and become beyond her class
