Romance / Re: My Past Memories Is Making Me Hate Her And I Want To End It Now by obstead200(m): 2:42pm On Jul 23, 2020
proxillin:
She has been mounting pressure on me to follow her to meet her parents. We have been in this relationship for a year now. Although she is not the only one I am dating. I am not sure of the other lady, but atleast this one is ready to marry me.

I am not sure if I genuinely love her or not, but a part of me love her..A part of me want to treat her bad, whenever I remember what she did to me in the past.

3 years ago, I started noticing and showing interest in her being my junior sister’s friend. I discussed with my sister who encouraged me to approach her that she had no boyfriend. We were on talking terms before which was an opportunity. So I leveraged on that to get closer to her. When she noticed I was getting closer, she started giving me attitudes, stopped talking to me. Finally she stopped coming to our house. She would give my sister thousands of excuses why she was not chanced to come to our house.

We met at a friends birthday party, to my surprized, she warmed up to me, greeted me. I though she must have repented. While the party was on, I asked her to come to my table and spend sometimes with me, she said “ok”. I waited for hours, she didn’t come. I later saw her in the room with the celibrant. I jokingly said to her “You dey whine me abi”. She just went off, started ranting, she said I should say whatever I want to say now infront of everyone..infront of her friends. “Why do you want me to come and sit with you?” say it now “let the whole world hear”. It was so embarrasing for me. I just said to myself “whats there..are they not aldult?..dem never toast all of them before”.

My sister was there, got angry and left us. She had already warned me to leave her alone. That I am interfering with their friendship. On my birthday, she replied to my whatsapp pictures with love and kiss icons. She went to facebook to like all my birthday pix. Facebook was alerting me as she was clicking. She finally sent me happy birthday..where is my cake..we started gisting again. She apologized for what she did that day, that she was not in a good mood that day (someone who met, joked and laugh with me, even agreed to come sit with me on my table).

We continued chattin for weeks, I made sure I didn’t get intimate with her. One day, my sister was playing with my phone, then saw our chats, read through our chats. She was mad at me. She confronted me and nearly slapped her for disrespect. She later calm down and explain to me that if I knew what this girl said about me on group chat, that I would shoot her if I have a gun. She said she didn’t tell me so that I wont feel bad.
She then show me their caucaus group chat discussing me. Tears was just coming out of my eyes. I felt cold. They were just laughing at me. My sister was just fighting for me shutting them off.

This lady said “how come some men behave like he goat. Why can’t he leave me alone?” “am I the only girl on the planet? Oh God I hate that idiot.” “Gosh, I can never be close to such person talkless of dating him” ANOTHER girl said “That’s how those guys are…you need to disgrace him more next time he try something stupid with you. Blahblah.

That’s when I closed her chapter. Blocked her on facebook, whatsapp, instagram. I moved on. My sister did photoshoot for her birthday and some of her friends came. I saw her and just greeted her, minding my business. Then I was dating another girl then, so it’s a win win for all. She stayed behind, when everyone left, she asked my sister to help her beg me. She knelt infront of me started telling me “she was sorry..she was being childish” This was someone that was in her 24 when I was chasing her. I said I forgave due to pressure from my sister. Since then, she will come to my apartment, do my laundary, cook soup inside my freezer. When she is coming from work, she will branch at my place prepare food on my table. At times she offered to sleep overnite, that she cooked till late in the night, which I will refuse.

But one thing led to another, one day, we had sex. And that changed everything. I couldn’t resist her again. But a part of me still hate her whenever I remember those disgraceful moments. Now she is 26, she want us get married. If I marry her, I may treat her bad.

In a dilema seriously and its giving me headache.
oga, she was being childish and was probably under peer pressure to date only guys of a certain class. Now she is older and wiser.
If u love her, forgive her. Na u still win. She went back to eat her vomit after boasting to her friends that she can't date u

Metrix147:
A Customary Court in Arochukwu local government area of Abia state still bears Imo on its signboard 29 years after Abia was created, ABN TV's finding reveals.

The military junta under Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida had in 1991 created Abia from Imo State.

Since the creation of the state however, no major renovation has taken place in the court, leaving it dilapidated state even as the court continues to sit despite challenges.

A member of the community, Ogbonnaya Ikokwu told ABN TV that the roof of the court is collapsed, causing it to leak uncontrollably when it rains.

He further added that the colonial building does not have pews and tables apart from the ones inherited from old Imo State.

"The panel of the customary Court sit under this hash environment to hear cases without electricity, fan nor air conditioner.

"The few benches and tables inside the court were those The floor of the Court Hall and other offices are still just cemented floor with cracks all over.

"The accused and witness boxes inside the court hall looked like cages found in poultry farms. It's not funny at all" he said.

this is just plain mischief by bloggers. That signboard was picked up maybe from the storeroom and placed there for photo effect. Look at the fence, it even has Roman pillars.....meaning it can't be up to 15years old (Roman pillar was rare those days). The fence wall looks screeded. The fence railings are quite recent. Look at the flower on the spikes.

Now dont u think that someone who spent so much to do the fence would easily want to spend 2k to re-write that signpost?

The news is fake

I know I let my guards down. So there was this lady who I would call Miss T. She was introduced to me by her senior sister who I knew through a facebook group. Since I told her I needed a girl for a serious relationship, she said she will link me to her younger sister in Akungba, Ondo state.

So, fast forward to when I began speaking with Miss T, she agreed to come to see me in Lagos but complained of not having enough for transport. So due to the recommendation i got that she was a good lady, I sent her N11, 000 as transport.

So after sending her this money, only for her to call me on the eve of the day she was supposed to come. that one of her relative was ill. So I just had this feeling that this was too coincidental to be true.

So I tried to cajole her to return the money since I sensed she was trying to play smart with me. She said no problem. That I can send my account number, which I did. After waiting for 3 days, I chatted her up on whatsapp that I'm yet to see any alert from her. Only for her to tell me she needs money for now.

So I said she is supposed to keep her promise of returning it, after which, she blocked her on whatsapp. I contacted her senior sister who linked us and her response too wasn't satisfactory to me.

So I'm really bitter with how the whole episode played, any chances of me recovering my money? just pained why someone will block me on top of my money. Please help.

Dear General Adeniyi.
They know you said the truth
Even though it's toxically bitter.
Now you're being crucified for your sincerity.
You shall be vindicated.

I wish you nothing but victory.
You shall be favoured.
which truth? That guy is a fool.
As a major general, he has access to the highest decision maker in the army hierarchy. As a commander, he is in the best position to make his demands for an effective operation and push such demand through.
Yet he chose to seek public sympathy for his gross incompetence as an army officer, and at the same time made a video that ridiculed the army. Even if he said the truth, in his position as part of the leadership, it is a great shame and ridicule to do so on social media through very nonconventional medium.

[s]He is a coward and a fool. I am not tribalistic, but I seem to notice a pattern where his kind of action is actually more common among the people of his tribe:- chop from a pot, and then turn round to say the food is bitter
[/s]
Modified: I take back my words. I searched out and watched the video. I don't think he said anything that ridiculed the army. He chose his words carefully and at same time was not sycophantic in his speech.

Career / Re: A Police Officer Wants To Quit Over Poor Pay by obstead200(m): 11:18am On Jul 14, 2020
Ralpdee123:
Good morning Nlanders,

I have been considering quitting my police job to find something more productive & profitable to do with my life as a result of poor pay & lack of promotion.....

I was enlisted into the NPF since year 2009 at 21yrs, I was single then with big aspiration that someday I will move to the top echelon. While in the job, I struggled to send myself to school and bagged my first degree and through to masters level.

But one thing I have noticed is that there is no upward movement within the NPF unlike the other armed forces and some paramilitary agencies that have internal promotional policies of upgrading their personnel based on academic qualification and merit.

The first and only time this ever happened was five years ago when it was widely reported across all news platforms that the NPF was ready to promote graduates within the force to ASPs, exam was conducted, I passed and was selected to go to Abuja for final interview. It was a rough road for me as it was my first time at the FHQ, Abuja. But after like a week, the process was suspended indefinitely. That was the first time I heard the term MERIT LIST VS NATIONAL INTEREST LIST...the Senators and Reps etcs wanted to replace the list with their candidates and they disagree amongst themselves so the process was cancelled.

I must confess my family is getting larger now and the pay I get can't feed us not to talk of paying school fees. I had to double my hustle with side biz to meet up....

Even the Police academy now turn out graduates ASPs every year who are now superiors after just a few years. So what about us with requisite qualification and experience, don't we deserve to be promoted...?

It is on this note that I want to call it quit and move on...

So I need advice in this regard... Should I call it quit or still hold on a bit...cos I don tire......?

NB: For those of you that will be saying yenyenyen shocked police likes twenty Naira.... I have never received bribe from anyone throughout my 11 years in the job. I am the kind of Police Officer that you would meet on duty and would love to be a police officer.... grin

Please professionals in the house.... Flood my thread with your wealth of experience abeg....

.... Help me do the needed for a wider view.... wink
sounds very much like a police friend of mine in Owerri.

And he is not smart. U don't escalate official issues orally and claim u have escalated. All those WOs he reported orally to will just deny him sharp sharp. And he will now become a liar and pay dearly for it. U don't gather evidence of recordings against a senior officer, announce it publicly and try to threaten him with it. That was what led to the seizure of his phone. All this military boys are just plain stupid walahi.

By the way, all the while this was going on, what happened to a plain "oga, I don't want to be Ur orderly anymore, kindly request for my redeployment". Every wise boss in the military will grant that request. This is because u don't force a man who holds a gun to serve u. The day he snaps, he will turn the gun against u.

I think his story is highly flawed.......and why should u drive out with Ur boss's vehicle? What kind of over entitled mentality is that?

Sexual harassment in our institute is like Police and bribe
I hope the bill defines sexual harrassment in very clear terms.

Because the higher institution is a place full of consenting adults. While I agree that it is inappropriate for a lecturer to date or attempt to date HIS (note the emphasis) student, someone he is directly teaching, because it might offer her undue advantages or cause her undue pressure, I see nothing wrong in a lecturer seeing a fellow adult, a student, (who he is not teaching, is not likely to teach and hence will not in anyway influence her academic pursuits) and seek to date her. If she accepts, it is all fine and good.

My personal opinion.

As a lecturer, I can't date MY student.
But that does not mean, when I was still single, that I did not date students. As long as I don't teach u, and can't be said to have the potential to influence Ur academics in any way, u are fair game ooo

I am finding it hard believing the story. Stabbing oneself is one very unlikely way to commit suicide except probably the victim is on overdose of drugs. The detectives should do a thorough job investigating the 13 year old daughter, neighbors and their acquaintances. In my opinion it's very possible the woman stabbed herself on the thigh after the altercation that led to the death of the man.

It's my opinion anyway ,but it's easier to commit suicide by shooting oneself, as that's almost a painless one time death; hanging , Sniper and jumping from the 3rd mainland bridge is relatively easier than stabbing oneself and evacuating the organs.

I think most Nigerians are asymptomatic, it's the testing capacity that makes it look okay. Our immune system is quite better as an ajepako Nigerian compared with our ajebutter cousins in Europe.

Maybe because a lot of Nigerians are used to hard life from suffering and smiling. Most people have been infected, and have recovered without even knowing.

Well, Dangote, Access Bank, Glo and other Nigerian companies operating outside the country also do same by repatriating profits to Nigeria. What you imply is that Ethiopia should make it difficult for Dangote Cement to repatriate her profits to her home headquarters' country, which does not make sense. Once you make it difficult for companies to repatriate back to their head office, they stop investing.

@Topic: The comments by Nigerians simply means they are averse to FDI and the benefits it brings. Not only is the business environment already tough but you make it difficult for foreign investors to thrive thereby reducing FDIs. I don't know which top 20 economy that is not open to FDI. Saying that Nigerians are up to the task is entirely false if not they should have met demand and even open branches abroad. I cannot think of a major fashion (high or low) retailer that started from Nigeria and has opened stores abroad like Mr Price, Uniqlo, Zara etc. With this mentality, I doubt Nigeria will one day become a top 20 economy in the world anytime soon. Even Vietnam and Myanmar do not operate like this.
my brother, I know that in principle this qualifies as an FDI. But in essence, someone who is not bringing in machines to manufacture here in Naija did not really bring in FDI

Investors are running away, nobody wants to invest in a volatile economy where one furu drinking slowpoke will wake up and increase tax without taking into consideration that these companies provide their own security and power, it ain’t easy naa.

That’s why Nigerians can never get the best products especially the telecommunications industry because most companies need to compromise in quality so as keep up with the cost of running their companies and still make profit.
abeg, no be this kind of investment we need. We don't need people that will import and resale.
We need pple that will bring in machines, manufacture in Nigeria and create jobs.

Bye bye to Mr price. Good riddance to bad rubbish

Ghana's bitter rivalry with Nigeria is age-long but the fact that Ghana must come to term with is that,Nigeria even in her worse state is better than Ghana in term of human and material resources.
before, I don't really give a damn. But now, I don vex. The reason for demolition is a slap on our face. It could have easily been resolved. I propose we give them 2 choices....either they rebuild the structure at Thier own cost, or we pull down their embassy here in Nigeria.

What arrant nonsense!!!!

I wanted to say Computer Science but I won't coz your course of study may not necessarily bring food to your table, after school..
However, Computer Science grads will agree with me that the syllabus is wack and completely outdated.
I wonder what languages like Fortran, COBOL, PASCAL, etc.. are still doing in 21st century when you languages like Python, Java (Android dev), Swift, C# are being sidelined.

I will agree with this. The syllabus is crap
