Sponsor your wife's career
This will free you up to work, and you won't spend at least £20K on a MSc degree that won't really give you any ROI |

None at the moment, but there was this thing called Trans-Atlantic Slavery where they took ownership of our people, It went on for 400 years. Then it was replaced by this other thing called Colonialism, where they literally took ownership of our lands, it went on for 100 years, The more you know... |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: If You Are The MD And HR, Would You Hire Him? by ocheejemb: 12:11pm On Aug 29, 2024 |
AngelSlay: I'll employ him as long as he's suitably qualified for the position, everyone (including the MD & the HR) most certainly has their own devils they're hiding from people's public glare. Whereas this young man seeking for employment is even bold and courageous enough to have been open about his addiction (w/c in my opinion is not even a SIN by any means or standard, except when it has taken the place of God and his service in his life). Mind you, people play all kinds of lottery (including Crypto trading, FX trading, even if your name is in any form of pool system where a prize is to be won or awarded, you're simply a lottery player, be it Visa lottery, Canada EE, PNP, and what have you, so long as you're there to be picked, it's called lottery and all of 'em share the NLB as it's regulatory body) The fact that he can't control his gambling habit or "addiction" as you've described it, to the point where he needs to indulge in it while waiting for an interview - combined with the fact that as part of his role, he will be managing the company's finances is a very big red flag. |

jmoore: Which land? Which land belongs to a white man in your village? None currently, but in case you missed it Nigeria was under colonial rule from 1884 - 1960, and before then was heavily plundered for its people from 1441 - 1833. So when anyone claims 'immigrants are taking over', remind them its nothing remotely close to what thier ancestors did. |

This is false information. Transit Visas don't even allow you leave the airport. Stop the misinformation haslaw: Transit Visa is not required if you are spending few hours in the airport as a result of stop over.
Transit visa is only required if you intend to spend some time (a few days or weeks) in the country and you will be going to town |

Travel › Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by ocheejemb: 8:01pm On Sep 21, 2019 |
I am a prophet! ocheejemb: I disagree. Long term, say after 2020, Brexit will benefit international students. Short term, the situation is likely to not real change much. Although some employers might become more willing to sponsor good non-EU students now, if they are thinking forward to a post Brexit era.
The UK really does need some immigration, if there will be any economic growth. On one hand, the stoppage of an free inflow of hardworking EU workers means prices of goods and services will rise dramatically, when entitled Brits are the only one who can take these jobs, especially the low skilled ones. For instance, I read about truck drivers somewhere in England who used to earn £16 an hour years ago, but a glut of EU drivers crashed the wage down to £9. If these wages go back up, then prices of goods will have to rise as well.
It will even be worse with high skilled jobs. It has been proven that although Cameron's Govt had been pushing against immigration, without high figures for it, there would be no way that the current population can meet economic targets (budget surplus by 2020). Now that the workforce can't easily come from Europe, it means everyone else now has a fairer chance of getting a work visa. Of course, you still need relevant skills.
I don't think Theresa May was all that hostile towards international students as Home Secretary. She had a impossible directive from her boss; to reduce immigration to the tens of thousands. So, she ensured that many loopholes are blocked. Unfortunately she's also made it tougher for fresh grads to get sponsored. BUT, all in all, immigration has actually risen, despite all her efforts. |

Just seeing this six months later, but I gotta ask you, Ndubuisi Paul, is everything ok? Who leaves such a comment on a 6-year old thread, wishing death on a complete stranger and bringing thier old innocent father into it? Some said Wande Coal needed to come and clear the air on the murder/suicide since it was his music that was playing in the background, and I simply asked how in the world it directly concerns Wande Coal. Hope you are good though, you sounded really stressed. Hope whatever was disturbing your life back then, and encouraging you to act like a maniac online has been resolved and you are in a better place mentally right now. Ndubuisipaul1: for this comment I just know that you are a bastard.
So you don't know what noise pollution is ? and u don't even care that human life was involved . infact your father there. very soon someone will murder you with knife |

DanXplore: Please, i could use some career advice from great nairalanders. Please tag monikers that you think would be of great help, as i am at a crucial point in my career.
I am a graduate of chemcal engineering but for 2years now, have not gotten any engineering related job. The only job i got was at KPMG (audit), which i resigned after 3 months due to some personal reasons. I am currently an Area Sales Rep with a poultry feed production company that pays 183k per month (net take home after tax and other necessary deductions), though i could use up to 20 to 25k to fuel my car monthly. Now, i just got a PTDF scholarship offer to study Advanced process integration and design in UK but not really sure if it is worth ditching my current job for it.
I am not very confident about securing a job once i finish msc because only a handful of opportunities come for chemical engineers. more also,UK rarely retains Nigerians.
Please what are your advices, especially from those who have done Msc in Uk.
I need your advices, i dont want to make a costly mistake. When i read your headline, i was like 'take the job', but as i read you have won a scholarship - i'd advice you to take it and open up your horizons for free. The money you will get as stipend from PTDF will surely be more than the 183k that the poultry comapany will pay |
