Read properly the import of the thread. The young man possibly has serious underlying disease that has made an ordinary knee from football not to heal after six months warranting surgery abroad rather than Nigeria. Politician or no politician, let him take care of his own health rather than mocking the health of others who at more tha. Twice his age are still walking without crutches
PoliticsRe: Tinubu's First 6 Months In Office: What Are Your Expectations? by Odibembem: 3:25pm On May 12, 2023
Ohislee:
The elections is come and gone and we have a president elect in Tinubu. A lot of Nigerians do not believe he his the right man to lead the nation forward while there are other group of people with a contrary opinions.

As a Nigerian, what are your expectations for Tinubu's first 6months in office?

I would go first!

In Tinubu's first 6months in office, I do not expect much difference from what we have experienced in Buhari's administration for a number if reasons.

1) 40% of his cabinet would likely be those already existing in Buhari's administration. These are the same set of people that have destroyed this nation in the last 8 years and are regrouping under the leadership of Tinubu. The lobbying is already going on.

2) Due to the elections, Tinubu have not been able to pay adequate attention to his health, thereby making him struggle health wise. After the inaugurations, I expect Tinubu to be in Nigeria max 2 weeks before he jets out to Europe for further treatment of his ailment. This might take 3 - 6months. Guess who will be handling the affairs of this nation? Kashim Shettima.

3) Islamic extremist like Shettima would not prioritize nation building, his number one agenda is the expansion of Islam. I foresee insecurity increasing.

4) Corruption: There would be an increase in corruption among those that are in the corridors of power like never before in Tinubu's administration. The fight against corruption would cease. Any attempt to fight it would be countered by blackmails. After all , they all know each others secret. Corruption can not fight corruption.

5) Development: In a nation where insecurity and corruption is the bane of the day, where would development come from?? In a situation where the money meant for development is continuously been stolen and citizens don't feel secured enough to be productive. For example people don't feel secured going to their farm lands or working late nights. Issues like these would drastically reduce any nations productivity.

We should just forget about development and progress. If there is any, it would be at snail pace.
Once he is sworn in, expect the following

Announcement of a chief is staff and personal aides mainly from Lagos. An SGF from the Christian North Central but the Lagos cabal would be well placed to run things in d kitchen cabinet henceforth

Rejig of the security apparatus, southern or Yoruba IG of Police, new head of Customs and Immigration plus chief of army staff from christian middle belt with adequate compensation for core northerners. South East still left out

Sack Emiefele as CBN gov and replaced with a brilliant economist from the north

Appoint his ministers with d minister of Information and Attorney General mandated to sanitize broadcasting and social media. The likes of Arise news would have their license suspended while social media terrorists would be prosecuted according to the law and many of them sent to jail

Trial of Nnamdi Kanu concluded and he is found guilty and sentenced to death by firing squard. The president would exercise his perogative of mercy and commute the death sentence to life imprisonment. Kanu is henceforth sent to Yola prisons to serve his rest of his life there with hard labour

All the refineries are sold off through competitive bidding with players like Oando buying at least one of them. Dangote refinery also starts operation and the FG finally have the courage to remove subsidy. FG encourages and support states to buy buses for mass transit to cushion the effect but only states with existing transport infrastructure like Lagos State would see benefits from d scheme. States like Anambra and Delta with terrible inner city roads and zero mass transit specializing in Keke napep and wheel barrows as means of transport would feel d brunt of the pains of d subsidy removal as PMS prices would initially shoot to N500 but then moderate to N300 over time

The govt embarks on mass recruitment into d military and police with a target of additional 250k military and 500k policemen. In d same vein d executive sends a bill for state police to d NASS with adequate buy in from all critical stake holders

The FG embarks on civil service reforms in line with d Oronsaye report and cuts d size of d civil service by 50% and introduce technology to every aspect of govt revenue minimizing human contact and interaction

Govt rolls out new set of corporate tax methodology that encourages self assessment. Alpha Beta consultants come in and in d first year increases FG taxes by 120%

Govt settles out of court with Rivers and Lagos states on VAT with agreement that FIRS continues to do the collection while derivation principle of 65% is applied with FG share of 25% while 10% goes to a distributable pool

FG hands over all inner city federal roads to their various states with freedom to toll

FG sets up an infrastructure bond to revamp the infrastructure architecture of Nigeria

Political nissance are tried according to law and those found guilty are sent to prison with hard labour to work in farms to be set up by govt in collaboration with various states

Our common humanity demands that we speak out. Also Falz is a public figure who has made a career of calling others out
CelebritiesFalz And His UK Knee Surgery by Odibembem(op): 1:24pm On May 12, 2023
There have been comments on social media mocking Folarin Falana AKA Falz for undertaking a minor knee surgery in the UK rather than in Nigeria or even in Anambra State being a strong advocate of Peter Obi and his giant strides and for his political activism against such medical tourism by people in govt. But which people are reminded that Falz is not a govt official and he is not using public funds for the medical tourism. But the fact is that Falz also engages in medical tourism for something as simple as a knee injury.

Just a few weeks back, same Falz did a video mocking d CJN, an elderly man in his 70s for being on a wheel chair and seeking medical care in d UK. We never knew Falz was battling an ailment also. Same for Charley Boy who while he was battling prostrate cancer all this while was mocking politicians on health grounds till he revealed about two months ago that he just underwent prostrate surgery.

The big question about Falz is why should a young man in his 20s require a surgery to fix a knee injury sustained not in an auto accident but on d football field? As he is not a career footballer, ordinarily d injury should heal on its own (since Oct 2022 or so) but the fact that it has not healed and he had to go to the UK to seek help means there are serious underlying health issues the young man is facing. If his knee can't heal in his 20s, what happens to an injury in his 50s or when he clock 70 like Tinubu and d CJN he mocked in his video? Are we to expect amputation? We scream "God forbid". But Falz has very serious health conditions that's beyond UCH Ibadan, St Nicholas and all d elite hospitals that have sprang up in Lagos in d last few years where even d VP Osinbajo had d confidence to do his own knee surgery. So rather than mock Falz, let's pray for him and also pray he and his likes have sense never, and never use health to mock anyone, especially an elder whose age you hope to attain and surpass someday!!

Tony Elumelu is a biz man with interests that span well beyond banking. His banking days are long over. Going to CBN won't allow him grow his wealth, at this stage it's now beneath him. Moreover he is not a technical person anymore and Nigeria needs a very technical CBN governor who does not have external interests like Elumelu. Elumelu will not be CBN governor.

Nigerians had a once in a life time opportunity to change their narratives after decades of terrible governance in which everything about Nigeria is completely on reverse. The youths remain the biggest hit because of high rate of unemployment and underemployment.. Just as the politicians have planned and sustained, some of these unemployed youths became ready tools in the hands of these politicians. TruthsFM:
Justices Who Sat On Imo Gov’ship Election Petition Denied US Visa, Says Donald Duke"

Our take: this is a good development and a lesson to some of our corrupt Judges

A former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, on Wednesday, claimed that the seven Supreme Court Justices, who delivered the judgement that declared Hope Uzodinma as the Imo State governor aftermath of the 2019 elections, were recently denied visas to attend a Judges’ conference in the United States.

The former governor made the claim at the launch of a memoir in honour of retired Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Charles Archibong, titled “A Stranger In Their Midst’’.

Duke, who noted that the United States Embassy in Nigeria took the action in view of the miscarriage of justice that occurred in the case, also alleged that all the aides, who applied for the US visas, alongside the Justices, were all granted.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the apex court in an unanimous judgment of a seven-member panel, read by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, held that results in 388 polling units were unlawfully excluded during the collation of the final 2019 governorship election results in Imo State.

The names of other Justices on the panel are the then CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, the current CJN Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, Justice Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta, Justice Amiru Sanusi, Justice Amina Augie and Justice Uwanimusa Abba Aji.

Akpabio To Drop Senate Presidency Ambition, Lobby Tinubu For ‘Juicy’ Ministerial Position

Strong indication has emerged that former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, may have dropped his ambition to run for Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
It was gathered that Akpabio may have decided to pursue a ministerial appointment in the cabinet of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with his eye on a return to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs or the Petroleum Resources Ministry.

Recall that Akpabio, a former Senate Minority Leader, had resigned as Niger Delta Affairs Minister from the present administration following the provision of section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act of 2022 to contest the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reliable sources told Vanguard that Akpabio dropped his Senate Presidency ambition because of the decision of the ruling APC to zone the position to the South-East, with an announcement for the zoning arrangements of all the presiding and principal offices both in the Senate and the House expected soon.

Some of the contenders for the President of the Senate included a former Governor of Abia State and current Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Senators Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano North); Sani Musa (APC, Niger East), Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South).

Also speculated to be on the list against the ranking standing rule are the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari (APC, Zamfara West); the outgoing Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi (APC, Ebonyi South), and a former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole (APC, Edo North).

Lobbying Tinubu
But Akpabio has reportedly told his loyalists and aides to tone down their campaign for his senate presidential ambition in the media to soften the ground to achieve his ministerial reappointment in Tinubu’s cabinet.

According to a source, Akpabio has begun reaching out to Tinubu directly to lobby for a ministerial slot.

The source said: “To avoid losing out, Akpabio has since begun reaching out to Bola Tinubu personally and through his allies to return to any of the plum ministries which appears to be more favourable to the former two-time Governor when compared to the Senate President position.

His chances are very dim, and he knows this, our Party and the President-Elect are committed to forming a Government of National unity and quell restiveness in geo-political zones in the country, beginning with the Southeast by giving them the opportunity to produce the next Senate President.”
Seun should ban propaganda posts like this. This is almost criminal, you claim sources from Vanguard without pasting the link to vanguard news here. Some of you should fear God. This was fabricated in d brains of someone in Umuahia

PoliticsRe: The Audio Tape Is Fake” – Peter Obi Explodes, Heads To Court by Odibembem: 3:18am On Apr 06, 2023
Olaolex:
The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has reacted to a leaked audio tape of an alleged phone call between him and the General Overseer of Living Faith Ministries, Bishop David Oyedepo.

Obi, in a lengthy statement on Wednesday, described the audiotape as ‘fake’ adding that it was part of calculated media attacks against him by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The statement read; “I continue to thank all Nigerians, especially the youths and the Obidients, as they have remained focused on the core mission of a New Nigeria that is POssible even after the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

Before, during, and after the campaign, it is on record that I have maintained my commitment and focus on issue-based campaign about a New Nigeria that is POssible, a shift of emphasis from consumption to production, a New Nigeria characterized by inclusion, justice, equity, fairness, and prosperity.

I repeatedly stated that no one should vote for me based on Tribe or Religion, but rather on the assessment of Character, Competence, Capacity, Credibility, and Compassion that can be trusted to create a New Nigeria!

The present attempts by the APC as a Party, and the APC Led-government through some government officials and agencies to divert our attention from our blatantly stolen mandate is unfortunate and sad.

These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war.

The attempts to manipulate Nigerians is very sad and wicked. Our legal team have been instructed to take appropriate legal actions against Peoples Gazette and others.

While we call on all concerned Nigerians and the International Community to implore the APC and the APC Led-government to stop their nasty attacks, my focus and commitment to lawfully and peacefully retrieve our mandate to secure and unite our Nation, take Nigeria from consumption to production, pull millions of Nigerians out of multidimensional poverty especially in the North, and jumpstart prosperity through agricultural, industrial, and technological revolution remain unchanged.

Elections are over, and we are in court to retrieve our stolen mandate. Let me reiterate that we are doing so through all lawful and peaceful options in line with our legal system and constitution, and I continue to implore all Nigerians to remain peaceful and law abiding.

Those fixated with heating up the polity, creating divisions, tensions and hatred within and outside Nigeria should remember that Nigeria is our only country. Our focus should be on how to address the litany of challenges facing us, such as: flawed electoral processes, the parlous state of our economy, unsustainable debt burden, lamentable unemployment and inflation, insecurity, and multi-dimensional poverty. A New Nigeria is indeed POssible, and God will help us.”
I have come to realize that Peter Obi is a man without honour, zero shame. Bishop Oyedepo did not deny d tape, he only said he has never campaigned for anybody. Peter Obi in his shamelessness after three days of using his surrogates to confirm or qualify d audio is now claiming its fake with d lie that he will sue the media house. Let's follow up if he actually sues them. Obi lies d same way he manufacture figures and statistics and lies with them believing Nigerians dread figures and won't bother checking. Anyway he is directing this lie to his Obidients, they are like Trump supporters, to them Trump won d last elections and even if Trump shoots someone in broad daylight, they will still defend him

The fact that Tinubu failed to get 25% of votes in the FCT is enough proof that he did not get the highest number of votes in the last presidential election.

The FCT is a unique state that encompass almost equal number of people from different regions of Nigeria.

Going back as far as 1993 presidential election, no winner and runner up has ever failed to get 40% of votes in the FCT. [/quote

In those elections there were only two major candidates so easy for even both to get 25% in d FCT. But that aside, do u want to give the FCT Veto over the rest of Nigeria? It doesn't happen any where in the world that d votes of some people are more important than the votes of others. Elections have just been concluded and across the South East, most of the state and national assembly winners were populist candidates. So if the region really wants a referendum on Biafra, best approach is to mobilize these lawmakers to move motion for Biafra referendum in their various states assemblies and then those in the national assembly also take it from there. Enough of the blackmail calling on the UN and the President who don't have the power to give referendum.

What am so sure of however is that the people don't really want Biafra. They understand what it means to live not just in a landlocked African country but an enclave like Lesotho, hemmed on all sides by Nigeria. It means Biafra can't sign any military treaty with any country but Nigeria, 100% of her international trade and custom policy would be dependant on Nigeria, they will pay double custom duties for imports and things would be so expensive inside their country. They are smart enough to know that they would be dependent on Nigeria for food importation with prices being dictated to them and they won't have enough revenue to pay their civil service. Who wants such a country? Fo the SE people that remain in Nigeria, they understand that property laws may be changed once they are no longer Nigerians, C of Os and tenancy laws may change for them and cost of doing biz would increase. They know all these. And their leaders ruling in d SE have never shown example of good governance to make them change suddenly and make Biafra worth returning to.

The. Biafra blackmail has been used in d past, IPOB was d backbone used to push the Peter Obi presidential adventure which fell way short on Feb 25. Now that the adventure has gone in smoke, are we to wait for a new blackmail? Just that this time around, we can easily tell them to tell their representatives to move the motion for referendum first at the state level. Afterall they got their boys elected. If they cannot initiate the motion, then enough, talks of Biafra should stop forthwith, the madness of Monday sit at home should end and let's all build Nigeria together cos we know d truth, no one is really going anywhere!

Stop pretending as if you don't want them close to you. Otherwise you should be doing this below ....
Who will organize the referendum for them? Why not tell their lawmakers to first move motions in their various houses of assemblies for referendum then their NASS members take it from there. Truth is that these guys don't really want secession, they don't want Biafra
