What is the hope of common man in this country?
Quick to endorse anything that will add money to their pocket no matter the inflation and the hardship it will inflict on the people and so slow to implement minimum wage, even after series of strikes
Any increase in fuel price now will double the price of the already inflated commodities!
Why not make it slowly over a space of few years? To allow people absorb it gradually and cushion the effect!

Anambra State Takes First Position In Common Entrance Examinations

Anambra State has done it again by taking the coveted first position in the 2020 National Common Entrance Examination results just released by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

Out of a total of 70,580 candidates who sat for the Common Entrance Examination nationwide, Crucifixio ChinuaUmeonyiagu , a pupil of God’s Wisdom International Primary School, Nnewi, in Anambra State Anambra State, took the first position by scoring 199 marks out of 200, according to a statement in Awka today by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba.

The NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Godswill Obioma, who presented the results to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu in Abuja, revealed that Anambra’s Umeonyiagu was trailed by Onwuamanam Udochukwu from Enugu State with 198 marks and Salaam Mariam Aderemilekun from Lagos State with 197 marks.

The highest scoring Umeonyiagu has once again put on the front burner Anambra State’s almost unassailable leadership in education in Nigeria.

Francis Chijioke Osakwe from Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area scored an A1 in each of the nine subjects he sat in the 2020 West African School Certificate examination which was released earlier this month.

Two indigenes of Anambra State, namely, Ego Maduafokwa from Ihiala, and David Nwobi from Njikoka Local Government Area, scored the highest marks in the 2020 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination (JME).

Favour Obiajulu Okeke from Eziowelle in Idemmili North LGA took the first position in the competition organized by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology for outstanding science secondary school students throughout the country last year. Nelson Uwakwe from British Spring College in Awka took the second position in the 2020 competition which was organised in March. The same month, Government Technical College in Onitsha took the third position in the national Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) Expo in Abuja which President Muhammadu Buhari attended in person.

Anambra State in 2018 put Nigeria on top of the technology map of the world after a global contest when five students of Regina Pacis Model Secondary School, Onitsha, who represented Nigeria and Africa at the World Technovation Challenge in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, USA won the coveted Gold Medal.

A week later, Tochukwu Anyigbo from Ihiala, who was personally sponsored in the competition by Governor Willie Obiano, won the third place in the Global Robotics Competition in Mexico.

St John’s Secondary School at Alor in Idemili South LGA won the third position in the International Festival of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) held in Tunisia between March 21 and 27, 2019.

Governor Obiano, who as a student of the Christ the King College in Onitsha in 1974 won the first prize in a national essay competition organised in memory of President John Kennedy of the United States by the American Embassy, is set to lead  Anambra people to receive the young educational laureates.

“It is our way to demonstrate to all and sundry that these youngsters are worthy ambassadors and role models”, declared Commissioner Adinuba.

“In a society which is unfortunately marked by crass materialism, it is reassuring that there are persons like Governor Obiano leading the charge to change our national values, so that we can begin to pay homage to knowledge and enduring values rather than mammon”.

Signed

C. Don Adinuba, Commissioner for Information & Public Enlightenment

Ngige is a cunny politician; the 110bn he is emphasizing is not the main issue. I am sure ASUU will accept 20bn for revitalization.

The 30bn EAA is also acceptable if FGN will source something for other unions.

The main issue now is withheld salaries and ippis.
You're very correct!

I also work with a federal establishment and IPPIS is working perfectly for us. No more underpayment of taxes, NHF and union dues. All non gazetted allowances that were earned by a minority has been stopped. All ghost workers and their ancestors have stopped earning salaries. To God be the glory, some qualified graduates were employed in their places to cover up the monumental fraud that has been going on.
Many of us are underpaid in IPPIS in huge sums, I don't talk of allowances here, people of the same level and grade don't earn the same thing any more, so many anomalies
The money you think they saved are not even enough to service IPPIS annually, millions of dollars are used to maintain IPPIS annually, besides since they saw no fault with UTAS why still forcing ASUU to join IPPIS if they have nothing to hide! IPPIS is someone's business bro, a Greek gift!!
NHF & Union dues are well gazetted fees that should be deducted/ made provision for in IPPIS, who's talking about underpayment of tax when they are so quick in increasing taxes with no increase in salary and double digit inflation in the country? When you talk of minimum wage they frown, but arbitrary increasing taxes at will
Even the taxes being paid, how do they account for it? With their unscrupulous corrupt practices!!

Get your facts right bro, FG is never sincere with that IPPIS of a thing, I am working with a federal establishment where IPPIS is used to pay us, since February this year, they have been deducting unwarranted 36k monthly from my salary with no explanations
Complaints have been greeted with deaf ears!!
It surprises me to see people who still think these Nigerian leaders are sincere .

Pls this is wrong/false. Francis didn’t command the soldiers nor was he there when shots were fired. Francis’ a Brigadier General of the Lagos Garrison was at home when this occurred and he was shocked when people started calling him that soldiers were at the Toll gate shooting. He rushed to the scene and arrived about 39 mins after. He identified himself and moved to pull back the soldiers. It was then he discovered that the soldiers were from there 65 Battalion Bonny camp led by their commanding officer one *Lt Col S. O. Bello*. As I write the soldiers and their c/o Lt Col Bello are still writing reports as they authorities want to know who authorized the military to go to the scene. Pls note that a General does a not lead a small battalion so there’s no way Francis a General would be commanding or leading a motley crowd of soldiers. His only mistake was that when he got to the scene he was screaming his name to alert the soldiers about his presence and people at the scene picked that up and ran with it
Nawaoo, can we say this is True?

Mgbadike80:
*Who is afraid of the Nigerian Youths Revolution?*

Last night the Federal Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was on the National Television, the NTA, ostensibly to educate Nigerians on what the Buhari government has done to pacify the EndSars Nigerian Youths protesters.

Maybe due to the weight of the subject or the scare most the government people have received since the protests started, Mr. Lai Mohammed, looked pale and sickly. He was beside himself without his usual gift of sophistry. And he, of course, laboured hard to do justice to the topic.

I was not convinced in the least. I do not know about you.

During the course of the programme, Alhaji Lai kept repeating the fact that the government had granted all the requests of the protesters and yet they have refused to leave the streets and allow for a free flow of human and vehicular traffic.

He even went as far using the unfortunate incident at Osun State involving Governor Gboyega Oyetola as a case study that the protests have been hijacked by what he called, " the enemies of the country". And he, like other highly placed Nigerians and the beneficiaries of the lopsided system Nigeria operates, is frantically looking for the the sponsors of the EndSars Movement.

In a note of resignation, Lai Mohammed who eventually occupied a major portion of today's Radio Nigerian news with his preachment on the futility of continuing with the protests, asked, "What do the protesters want?"

I will answer him right away.

Mr. Lai Mohammed, Nigerian Youths are tired of the system that has made Nigerians fugitives, refugees, and victims of government insensitivity, in their own country. And there are thousands of reasons for such a protest to go on and on.

While the problem did not start with the Buhari government but an objective analysis of his administration will reveal a sinister plot of the gradual *Northernization* of the Nigerian Federation.

Never in the history of this country has a President been this insensitive to the plight of Nigerians. Nor is there any comparison in our history of the kind of ethnic agenda the Buhari government is a champion of.

Buhari has *captured* Nigeria for his people.

What Othman Danfodio could not do with his sword. What Ahmadu Bello failed to achieve despite his aristocratic posturing. What IBB never contemplated even with his guile. What Abacha never thought of with his brashness and devil may care attitude.

*But Buhari has done it.*

And will someone inform Mr. Lai Mohammed that none of the federations that were structured the way Nigeria is now ever lived to tell their stories?

Nigerian Youths want besides a holistic *Police Reform*,

*Judicial Reform*
*A People's Constitution*
*Electoral Reform*
*Civil Service Reform*
*Access to opportunities*
*End to Quota System*
*Reduction in the Cost of Governance*
*Health Sector Reform*
*Education Sector Reform*
*End to the State of Origin Requirement*
*Transparency in Government business,*
among others.

If President Buhari cannot guarantee the fulfilment of these demands in record time, then let him resign and go home.

In the meantime, *Let the Protests go on. Nigeria belongs to the Youths!*
