I wonder why people are cool with teachers fraternizing with students in this part of the world. So tell me, how do we address the conflict of interest that may arise from teacher-student amoral relationship. The issue isn't about rape or harassment, it is about the unethical practice of professors in Nigeria having an affair with their students. Many times though, they coerce their victims into submission, and that's flat out harassment.

I know a professor in US who an affair 5 years prior, with a girl before she became his student. He walked up to the Chair (HOD in Nigeria) to say he cannot trust himself to be fair, so he wants another class.

Dnt u have sense at all. D case against this lecturer is sexual harassment n d content of audio evidence against this man is grossly insufficient to prove d case get dt into ur thick head. By d way did u listen to d tape. It merely depicts a lecturer asking for sex n d std saying no n d lecturer walks away so were is d harassment. Comments like this tells me Nigeria is almost beyond redemption. There's no way he's winning that case with the university board or anywhere else. Fraternizing with a student is an offense and he played along. It would have helped if he said he played along intentionally but he said it was a set up.

D lecturer was naive to have re-signed he could have denied d recorded voice n call d whole thing a set up, unilorin will naturally suspend him paving way for d legal battle which he won't lose given d weak evidence. Even d content of d audio tape can't prove sexual harassment BC d lecturer was jst seeking consent frm d girl for sex n d girl refused while he allowed her to go without any iota of threat nor harassment.

Yes I know how difficult things are in Nigeria right now. Everyday I read and hear from the media news and articles about Nigeria that trouble the heart.

What are the implications in terms of renumerational difference when compared to being scaked?

In terms of looking for anither job what truly is the difference between a sack and a resignation.

I work with one of the top organisations who laid off staff over the past couple of weeks.

My immediate boss was fired as well and was later asked to resign albeit a forced resignation.

He resigned with the impression that the resignation will look better on his CV than a sack.

I am of the opinion the organisation took this step to reduce their financial obligation.

yesterday I and my hubby had a dispute abt his mother coming over to our house in Lagos becks I asked him for how long his mother would be staying, following the fact DAT we are just a new couple abt 1 year old in marriage.

this morning while he was preparing for work I tried to let him know my reasons for asking the duration of his mother stay at our place and DAT i'm not against his mother coming over to visit but her visit should be for a duration and not to stay.

while explaining my reasons , I took him of one or two periods I counted on him to stand by me DAT he failed me. reason one : when one of our neighbors had a dispute with me when he was at work and at night while my hubby was returning from work; dat my neighbor met my husband on the stair case and told him I had a dispute with her, to my greatest surprise my husband came home and started shouting at me not even asking me of my own side of the story. I felt heart broken and disappointed that my own husband could believe an outsider over his own wife, knowing DAT I had Neva had an dispute with any neighbors before .

second reason: was when I went for an interview and was stranded at the interview becos I had exhausted all the money I had on me on tfare going there, after the interview I called my husband to tell him I was stranded and had no money to come back home , to my surprise my hubby said to me over the phone " what to you want me to do; find your way". again he disappointed me and I felt bad, I had to call my elder sisteu to assist me.

all these above reasons made me defensive when he told me his mother was coming over to our place. becos i felt he could team up with his mother and frustrate me in our house especially since they are Edo while I'm Igbo.

now today he got back from work and I saw a slippers and a snack I normally like he bought. soi taught he bought them for me but rather he kept the slippers at the shoe rack without even telling me if he bought th em for me or not. and when I asked him about the snack he ignored me . I'm beginning to wonder is this the man I married .

Y r u against ur mother in-law coming to ur house when she has done nothing to u, asking silly questions when she has nt even arrived.
