Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade stunned workers on the 1st of May, Workers Day, when he announced the payment of salaries for the month of May on the first day of the month.A mild drama immediately ensued when the workers who were at the U.J. Esuene Stadium for the May Day celebration began to receive salary payment alert from their various banks.
Unable to contain their excitement, the workers shouted “alert, alert”.
The workers praised the governor. Before now, the governor had paid salaries between the 13th and 20th day of each month.Governor Ayade told the workers, who named him the “Best Labour Friendly Governor in Nigeria”, that his administration had a duty to give workers a sense of dignity.
“We must create opportunities for labour to feel a sense of dignity. If you are truly a Christian, you must know that as you care for your kids, you must care for labour,” he stated.
Another good news is that workers in the Edo State civil and public got cheering news during the May Day celebration as their salaries were increased.
Workers’ salaries were increased by 45 percent. The minimum wage is now N25,000.
The workers, especially members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees who were in pensive mood at the beginning of the rally, danced and sang praises of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

wescoboy: Hello All,
It is very obvious that the APC Government is not capable of curtailing the excesses of these Fulani Herdsmen. Thousands of Nigerians have been maimed and killed by these people and the Government has done nothing about it.
It is fact that PDP Government was corrupt in their 16years of reign but the killings we have seen so far under this APC Government so far outweigh what happened in 16years of PDP.
Nigeria belongs to ALL OF US and Nigerians must rise up and take our destiny in our hands. WE MUST STOP THIS NONSENSE!
I hereby move the motion the all the States in the South boycott anything that has to do with Beef in the Month of May! All abattoirs in all the States should be shut down. Let us do with Chicken, goat and other meat except BEEF.
If this is the only sacrifice we have to make to live in peace so be it. We indirectly finance this evil they are perpetrating by PATRONIZING them.
THIS EVIL IN OUR LAND MUST STOP!
LET US DO AWAY WITH BEEF IN MAY 2016 AND SEE IF THEY CAN SURVIVE WITHOUT US!
IF YOU ARE IN SUPPORT SAY "I"! Ur suggestion is ridiculous to say d least, have u tot abt the thousands of men u will keep off their source of livelihood by this act. D meat reseller who r mostly Igbo ppl. Indiscriminate grazing shld b prohibited n a supportive law on dt enacted |

Family › Re: What Is The Essence Of 'bride Price'?. by ogawisdom(m): 1:57pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
mizquote: i have always being a pro bride-price, i was brought up to understand that bride price is the pride of every woman. perhaps, bride price was a thing of pride centuries ago where women were to be seen but not heard, where a woman's primary duty was to produce children and take care of her husband and home, it was no surprise that men then acquired and married so many women as they were commodities of machandise.
things have really changed now, women are no longer shadows in their matrimonies, they now merge their primary responsibilities and their careers.
women in some homes are now co-bread winners in their , some help their husbands when in need financially.
what is the real essence of the groom paying money to the bride family? some bride family marriage list consists of varying prices for the bride ranging from skin complexion, to intellect, to educational qualification, the higher these variables the higher the money to be paid.
since the groom was forced to pay through his teeth, he regards his wife as his property for life, her opinion in the house are not important, she must perform the reason for her purchase, she must be ready to endure him and pray harder when he cheats, she must be ready to pray and fast even harder when he sexually, emotionally and physically abuse her, little wonder why men support the phrase 'no rape in marriage'.
the bride price culture was propounded by men themselves, because everything on the list and even the monies paid go to their pocket.
As every other culture that is archaic and have been scrapped, the culture of bride price should follow suit.
what do you think, does bride price enslaves women or liberate them, should it be scrapped or maintained?. Bride price is a non negotiable biblical injunction. A woman was created for a man n d4 he marries her by paying bride price to her father. Whatever d father accepts as her daughter's bride price is OK, though it's been trimmed down so as nt to seem lik dey r selling their daughter |

Career › Re: Should I Sack My Driver Or Not? by ogawisdom(m): 1:41pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
BiafraBushBoy: I write this with much urgency and anger inside me..
I am a young man in my early twenties and work as a management staff of a company. I have a driver that is it old enough to be my father's senior and I accord him due respect. But the problem is that he is not just doing his job in a professional manner..
He comes late to work, because I can manage and jump molue, so no need of him picking me from home.
Always complaining that he is bigger than driving his son's mate. But the truth is that I don't make him feel bad because as a guy man, I even sit in front with him and do other things just to create an atmosphere of respect for him. and because of this, l am always late for some business appointments.
He is not just focused on the job. And it has gotten to management's notice. So I was asked to run an appraisal on him...
But the truth is that.... he always tell me sometimes of how hard things are for his family and how he uses this Job to keep body and soul together...
Am kind of confused now, should I patch up for him, or give a correct report about him!!
I have now and tomorrow to report back.. Matured advice please!! |

Davindal: Hey guys! I'll keep it snappy here.
There is this girl in my life, she will be 21 this coming October and she loves me a lot. In fact, she is my chosen one among my girlfriends.
I was the guy that deflowered her. I have dated her 4 years now. When we started, she was so pretty, radiant and elegant, all these qualities laced with good manners - despite her beauty, great intelligence and culinary skills. Considering all this qualities, I decided to promise her marriage for I truly love her; knowing full well that her type is rare. After the promise of marriage, I realized that our love for each other grew a step further.
Furthermore, before now; she was my exclusive reserve for matrimony(marriage), such that I don't see any succedaneum(substitute) to her - even though I do date several other ladies - but I have no meaningful plan for them except this gal.
Unfortunately, this my gal has decide to let loose her body, she doesn't watch over her weight, such that she is no longer as curvy, elegant and 8-figured as she used to be, though she is tall - a few inches or 2 inches to 6ft. In fact, she is now as fat as whatever description you may be cogitating within your mind. That fatness is gradually eating up her killer curves, I have sat her down severally to talk through this issue severally; I reminded her that as a medical student(4LV med.& surg.), she should be in a better position to know any means possible to apply in order to loose weight. She insisted that she has been trying her best to shed down but to no avail, and was even crying.
Please guys! What do I do now? I hate plus size ladies aka OROGBO, and can never marry one. Should I completely ditch her for good, even though I still love her deeply? I need an advice. Most women will become fat after marriage deal with dt. Also force urself to love fat women too |

Jinora: Hello everyone please i need your advice. I'm a 25 years old lady i've recently started dating this guy and i'm having some fears about him. First of all, he is 38 years old. When he told me his age i was very surprised. I was wondering why he was still single at that age. He is the youngest in his family, he does'nt have a job at first, said he was helping his big bro with his car business later he said the business has folded up because they were no longer having buyers. I asked him what next since he can't just keep staying at home, he said he wants to get a car for himself to do cab with, later he told me he accepted a 20k job as a driver in a cab services company. He does'nt have his own apartment, he stays in the bq in his brothers house(his brother stays abroad with his family). I'm finding it difficult to introduce him home as my boyfriend because at his age he doesnt have anything going well for himself. He didnt further his education after secondary school, his desire then was to go abroad. He did spend more than 10 years in europe, he did drugs, got arrested went to jail twice in two different european countries, denied american visa several times, and at the end he couldnt make any thing tangible out of all his struggles He always feels down when he thinks about it i'm always cheering him up. Now he said he wants to get married that his nephews that were born in his presence are already getting married. I wonder how he wants to pull this up and i dont think i'm ready for this. i really need advise from mature folks here Wats advice do u need. Hw can a man without a stable source of income b taking abt getting married. He shld sort out his life first may b by 41/42 u can then marry him if u love him. His Age is nt too much for a man to get married |
