cablenews:What these promoters dont want us to know is, boxing is money. Not in itself but the marketability of the fighters. AJ was starting to bore the powers that be. Why would AJ have 3 belts and be clean like that? No scandals, no sensationalism, no hype nada, just talking like an ivy league trained boxer all the time. When you compare AJ with notable champions (Ali, Tyson, Mayweather, Fury, Toney etc) you wonder if boxing was just something that helped him get out of trouble back then and was never really something he assumed would get him that far doing. That AJ kind of champion was not profitting anyone but AJ. While he was getting the endorsements and interviews, staying out of controversies, doling respect anyhow, the boxing powers were of the opinion this guy is not building any ratings, earning any publicity beyond himself (Even Jarrell Miller boosted rating by his shoving AJ....) who that kind AJ gentleman personality help? This was why he had to go, they had to ruffle his demeanour, get him to show his beast side, if it ever was there...and by whom? A Cruiser weight who was levels beyond AJ. Losing to USYK would and did bring back the hype of the heavy weight again. The only way he can win that rematch, even if they would let him to, is to get a little bad boy into his persona, make them some money/publicity anyhow good or bad. On the other hand, there is that possibility that all these events are being orchestrated. AJ would have been a better opponent compared to Wilder and they knew that. There was a possibility that AJ would slap Fury about (remember Otto Wallin) even create an upset but then where is the money in all 4 belts being with a British (one) champion? Rather let the Ukrainian get the belt, so the Ukrainians can bring some hype to global boxing like the Klitschkos did. Either way, boxing should be abolished. It is a sport that legalizes people receiving blows to the head which puts them in danger during and after their career . |
Now to get a winning coach, buy solid players, build a winning team and knock one of the usual 4 (likely Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd) from champions league to Europa |
chival:I was seated Ma'am - I was only offering you one of the many seats in the room, with the hope that when your turn came, we would all listen. As for Civility, it is free, yet I acknowledge it can be dear to those who feel a stranger's comments are an antagonism ![]() Namaste |
Nope, only demonized as in a form of colonization. Where the colonizer does not own the territory per se but has access to the colony's territory and can influence/manipulate the realities of the colony. For example Nigeria is demonized by Western demons that, regardless of her capacity for greatness, she simply cannot. The secret to not being demonized is to get closer to God daily (Prayer, reading the bible, fasting, fellowship)

chival:Did you get married as a virgin? If yes, you have an argument, otherwise Ma'm, please sit down, you might learn a thing or two |
When you hear stories like this, you wonder like this person must be more spiritual than Jesus Christ. I mean even When Jesus was born, His parents didnt say He is God's child, nothing can happen to Him, rather they carried him and fled, in order that the wickedness of man may not prevail against him. This was also evident, after His baptism, When His heavens opened he chose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit towards the wilderness, even at that, the Devil himself went after him (as per say who you be wey your heaven open you no go oppress or show off). Bro. you better be as powerful in the spirit realm as you portray on social media, courting, wedding night and the marriage proper are very different levels. Tread wisely |
This hurts, hurts deep! Rest in Peace, Sir. Heaven knows, if we blame from now till kingdom come, it will not bring you back. Rather, we choose to learn from this. Truth is, it is Nigeria, anything and everything can happen. Within a blink of an eye, that which you think you re familiar with, believing, 'nothing dey happen' can become SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED. If you must do anything in Nigeria, you must think safety for you FIRST. Safety here is a choice - your life or the material possessions, these bastards want from you. If you live you can get even, even hunt them down but when your life is taken, that phone, car, chain, wallet (in this case, bike) would become someone else's either given, sold or stolen. It makes no difference, there is a Police department, how can people you re better off (on most levels) serve and protect you? The Nigerian Police men are not psychologically motivated (Poverty has finished them, the uniform is just a facade) and prepared to protect or serve anybody but their 'ogas at the top' and their bellies. In that regard, protect yourself. Never be without your buddies, Get you something to defend yourself, (in order to get away) a well concealed cutlass, catapult and stand your ground, if you must... Above all, let us remain prayerful and sensitive to both our Spiritual and Physical environment. The land has swallowed so much blood, it is spewing it out, unleashing demons who possess individuals to shed more blood - THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED! |
Iamjobless:You could: a.) Show a level of commitment to your offer, by paying for your first term and deferring the admission till the next intake ( that is if they offer starts in Fall, Spring, Summer or Winter). Let them know that since your passion is further education for a career in academia, you have commenced a teaching paid internship towards that. This makes you appear focussed, credible and poachable afterwards. b.) Since nothing in life is sure, Forget the employment offer, go on ahead honour and full-fill (sic) the offer - the future is bright. If you were graced to get an offer in the first place, in Nigeria, (where the only things that work are 'cronyism', 'nepotism', ethnicity and ethnocentrism, corruption etc)YOU CAN GET ANOTHER OFFER in Nigeria or anywhere for that matter. Either option, keep moving. All the Best |
Soon now, the variant that will resist Moderna will emerge...keep the hustle on you big Pharma coys, folks be waking up with each 24. This covid 19 bockbuster (featuring sanitizers, masks, washing hands, pandemic, lockdown, media propaganda, lies after lies from politicians, Presidents; vaxx and anti vaxx finger pointing etc) is just the prelim run, now that the fact is established that most will take anything they do not know its constituents, (regardless of its inability to keep them safe or not)cause they dont want to die is the results...Stay tuned |

Omooba77:Because most if not all, when the miracle is in incubation stage (conceived in the spirit/intangible/heavenly realm) do not/ cannot keep their mouth shut, rather they go on to help God, or allow 3rd parties who had no business in the matter to interpret it or a simplr failure to hear the full instructions/conditions required before giving testimony/updating status/instagram post etc....) This is why majority suffer miscarriages before the miracles are birthed physically. |
Smart move Utd! For long the lack of cohesion in the team has been an embarrassment. The myriad of attitudes do not only suck but also, the big egos and lackadaisical mentality are just too much - The English boys with their subliminal I must play attitude (thanks to the nationals policy), the Pogbas' (who see the politics and decide to cash in on it) who are like una no dey my level, the majority of others who are like win or lose, play or not, I get paid and so on. Maybe now, misfiring and unreliable Rashford and Martial can learn a thing or two from a truly electrifying and motivational Player. Hopefully he will ignite that spark amongst the team which, for now, only Fernandez ALONE has been carrying which can be frustrating and overwhelming when borne alone. The only challenge now is getting them all to synchronize, make ego and I be the bigger player no scuttle everything. |
So says the young who is still flattered by the fleeting features of youth. Opinions change as one ages, in 5 years we shall see...for now, enjoy the 'liebrity'(sic) of the moment |
Can another ethnic group (say Yoruba, Hausa etc)be actively, brazenly, audaciously involved in armed robbery in Igbo land the way we do here in Lagos? Has the Police ever paraded non Igbo miscreants in Enugu for crime? The answer is mba nnu! It can never happen. Igbo Amaka truly in everything, even that, which desecrates the land of those who opened their doors to let them dwell amongst them |
Tbh, the rot of morals in a significant number of Nigerians abroad is alarming. Such Nigerians may have material things to make ignorant folks green with envy, but then when you look beyond the 'show off' for immaterial virtues that make for a good reputation or worth emulating, one finds that they are not commensurate, even non existent. A way to recognize this poverty of the mind is their need to show off, let you know they have arrived. Ironically, when you fall for their empty imagery and ask them to come through afterall 'they have arrived" you then find out they re not into anything legitimate and are indeed empty clouds that bring no rain. This shameless display of greed, mischief and 'I-dont-care' is why the children of the table (citizens) and others hate Nigerians. Most Nigerians are the contrasting biblical example of the dog who deems it meet to climb the table and eat the children's meat rather than wait for it to be legitimately handed to them ...what they fail to understand is, such behaviour will only have you ostracized and labelled as not knowing your place. Unfortunately, it's a one size fits all where honest ones are pooled together |
Been in the States since Age 9, had the gun in Nigeria since 2012? Bro, the tale don't add up...Tbh his whole disposition about the gun ownership is shady asf. The mistake here is his not going to declare it or properly licenced with the NPF. Or to do it the Nigerian way, cozy up to any ranking Popo and he'd be duly advised - a couple of greased palms and he'd be good. Asides that, his mien is suggesting he had motives behind the gun ownership, otherwise what's the big deal, declare it's your own, ask to let them allow you provide your US licence to carry/concealed, ask them to take you to the Police Station and do the needful. His stuttering and uneasiness is giving him away... |
What you have said op is not only the case in UAE, it is the same everywhere. The most hated specie of black in the world is a Nigerian. Other blacks - Carribean, African, African-American hate us, we Nigerians even hate ourselves. This is why when those at home blame the people in Government, it is just buck passing. Nigerians are their own problem. We like to live big and loud even better than citizens of the country we migrate to. When we arrive, we look for fellow Nigerians to 'parapo' with. Unfortunately those we do so with teach us the unacceptable, misconceived and 'hateable' way of life. So if you re coming abroad Red flags to look out for include: when they will not come pick you up personally at the airport, when they will not give you their address, rather they meet you at a public place; when the so called Nigerian brother/sister has a big house or fancy car and you cannot point to any visible job or business he/she is into. When he or she cannot point you to the correct site and proper way of doing things in the foreign country; when he or she asks you to bring money or render a 'homage' service FIRST before offering any service/help whatsoever to you. When he or she offers to help you generate 'oluwole' documents just to have you strapped to them, when he or she's support group is 90 percent Nigerian etc these are all flags. You see, a significant proportion of Nigerians who live abroad are not straight and this is why they avoid the radar. Anything that calls for their scrutiny, you will get thrown under the bus sharp sharp. When a Nigerian comes abroad, the best thing for him or her is to minimize or avoid Nigerians especially shady ones. Out here, there is a way things work and the critical first step is to earn trust of locals/citizens not Naturalized Nigerians. Your host country wants you and there are many ways to succeed, the major determinant is patience, paying your dues as a newcomer and modesty. A lot of Nigerians arrive, mix up with their fake ostentatious living brothers and sisters out here and assume that is the way things truly are. That is indeed far from the truth. This belief will only get you hated by all. You see a Nigerian not wanting to associate with Nigerians, believe me, there is a bitter experience behind it |

Does not make sense, rather, since the scheme is called Youth Service, one should be allowed to commence the service right after SS3. Many youths are still redeemable and malleable right after high school, having them go serve then, perhaps for 6 months waiting to go into Uni buys them time and also allows them serve should strikes prevail when they eventually get into university and are overage by the time they graduate. It's not the length but the scope, the limitations the current system imposes |
TemiGod:First of all, if a final year project is useless during and after graduation, the blame is on the school, the department, the supervisor and finally the student. First of all, the idea of a final year project should be a culmination of the 4/5/6/7 years (dependent on the course) of the student's studies. Simply put what was a problem, a phenomenon that you encountered or has been an issue of debate in your field of study while on campus. Say for instance, you studied electrical/mechanical engineering, a project can focus on accessibility (automatic doors/escalators) for physically challenged students, or if a civil/structural/surveying/urban regional planning student, the construction of a mini link road/bridge that could serve as a short cut route to other parts of campus. If you are a science student (mbbs, mcb, bch etc) your project can be on accessible and affordable medical care for students on campus etc. My point is, your project must focus on pointing out and research on problems within campus. You can point out why it is an issue, how it is a problem and then solutions. This project aimed at a campus problem will allow you build on it, if you have to go for Masters due to no job and then brag about your problem solving at any interview. The problem is, most of us never thought about project until perhaps year 3 or 4, at that time, the gp is either buried at the Lagoon front or you just want to graduate. Also, supervisors who stifle one's creativity, either cause they are lazy to read or reenacting what they experienced while as a student writing their project back then. In conclusion, if you re in your final year or about to, this op's post is a decent place to start, ask yourself, what will my project be about, originality, that is something you can relate to or just copy and paste....either way, its your call |
...and the warriors never came. This should serve as a lesson to anyone - when push comes to shove, you are on your own. |
SpringofLife:First of all, I am sorry to hear about your predicament, it is the Nigerian reality, you either sink or swim - it is, what it is... Now to the fun stuff, bro, you re a graduate, came out with a 2.1, wrote this whole piece well, paragraphed nicely, spelling accurate and brilliant switching interplay from pidgin to english. First, you can start a blog documenting your experiences on this job. Socially commenting on the decadence you see rom day to day. The more you write about it, the more lessons you can deduce and take away as part of a portfolio for your next job. Two, bro you can front or get sb to do so, as a supplier of washing machines to your employer and arrange a buy now pay later for your current employer, or better yet a small soft loan from any of the microfinance banks, that way they can purchase a washing machine and make your work easier. Lastly, as someone who has had your experience, book sense will only get you through University. Out here, its your networking, one's ability to sell one'self. If you got a 2.1 legitimately, I feel you shouldn't have a problem replicating it out here in the real world. All you lack is either, your attitude about the current role is not in sync, or you have not discovered your self, or your breakthrough is at 5.29 and you re at 5.27 and you re sweating the process... Either way, based on your write up, your preparation (current state) is approaching its opportunity - soon, it will all make sense #BestWishes |
At the time, Lagos was not the only state that had a Governor who was proud of the achievements of the Atlanta 96 contingent. He made a promise, was not able to fulfill as he left office not long after that. It is no longer his fault that his successor considered other things of more priority than bequeath promises made by a predecessor. Moreso, there were governors/military administrators from the states each sportsmen hailed from - what promise or reward did they get from their own governors for them to feel entitled to the fulfillment of a promise made by an administrator not even democratically elected in a state they did not even come from. The dimensions to this are not black and white. Even Sanwoolu that gave house, is a political move no goodwill in that...the question is what point is he trying to prove? As always, focus not where the ball has been or who has the ball, but on the ones without the ball, but are still running towards the goal. |
Not to worry Chidinma, all those prison warders are praying you serve at/get sent to their prison. You will offer 'your services' (Spread am, hold the table, doggy, missionary, wheel barrow, scissors etc) tire. On a more serious note, when this gal was born in 2000, she was named 'Chidinma' (God is beautiful) when or how then, did she become ugly? The culpability here is not only on her alone, rather the deceased, her parents, the friends she was trying to impress and outdo, the Nigerian society that reckons with you mainly on the basis of the material things you extravagantly display regardless of its ill gotten or fraught with immoral history, you and I. Many of us here castigating the girl, would probably say something different had it been the wife caught both of them and the girl was the one killed, 'I will never fight over a man', 'This wife went overboard', this and that... There are many Chidinmas' out there and even on this platform, this is just an eye opener that greed is out there manifesting from the beaches of Badagry all the way to Aso rock. Our illusion of the Nigerian problem is, deceiving us to think that the politicians are the problem whereas, they are just on the spotlight...The mania for materialism, showing that one has arrived, feelings of megalomania even from the gwugwuru seller to the fuel attendant is eating into us to the point where sound judgement is non existent |
Its called being part of the family community. Ideally a child starts contributing from when he or she can start handling things, speak and wanting to imitate older folks in the family. From age 2 plus (dependent on the child's mental development) the child's ability to drop/contribute must be stirred with simple acts like Go and give this to Mummy, bring that spoon; ya, we re cleaning the house etc, This little commands, little children will love to participate in, cause they are in that stage where imitation is their stage. As children grow in age, their capacity for contribution also grows...they learn to cook, dust the house, wash the car, change the wheel, go to the grocery store, get sent to pay bills, supervise a repair in the house. Soon as such start earning money, the prior socialization of contributing should not be hard to transit into. Before being formally asked to contribute, which should not be the case anyway, such child can simply take the initiative of starting with something as basic as buying the milk/eggs for the family use that week... It can also be getting/paying for the broadband/wifi, paying for the cable...little stuff that, though insignificant, go a long way... do that as a young lad/lass and your folks wont think about kicking you out - afterall you re being valuable...all these are the ideal...however, the reality is parents leave the moral training of their wards to society, to that teacher who is only there to get paid,to that housemaid from a dysfunctional background who is there to only implant her strange ways unto your kid, to that Telly/Youtube/Social Media who are there to massively indoctrinate vanity and self gratification as paramount, even to that relative who is addicted to porn/masturbation, alcohol, materialism etc all these confuse and derail us to thinking and becoming self entitled...thinking everyone has to do or give to us first before we can give anything back even at that...when it is convenient... To be told to give back, is one of two things, you were given but not aware you should give back or you were not given at all and so, you cannot give back...either way, society is built around giving and receiving, what and when to give can be determined long before |
On a serious note, what has the before and after pregnancy photos of people got to do or how does it improve on the quality of life of people on this platform? ![]() |
Kobojunkie:There is nothing men can come up with that cannot be made a lie, this is why only God is true and all who identify with Him are advised to seek Him daily for His consistent Truth. The op asked for tips on how to keep sexual purity, being a living testimony of victory over such, one subliminally shared the path one has travelled, being fully aware that no two testimonies are the same. If you have by Christ triumphed down that road, kindly share your experience for the op to learn from otherwise as 2 Timothy 2:16 reminds us to "...shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." you win, I have no intent to win a "who's right" tussle, it adds nothing to our spiritual walk. |
To obtain sexual purity, one must first realize that sexual purity is not external to Total purity of one's entire life. To be pure sexually, you have to seek purity in your life as a whole. You cannot succeed in sexual purity while other areas of your life are defiled. As such, to be pure in your whole life, which will in turn enhance your sexual purity: 1. Ask: Seek and Ask for the Lord to let His Spirit move over the face of your 'waters' (your desire for purity) filling your earth (life) with His Light upon every area of your life revealing every darkness therein. Remember, everything God creates, starts with His Spirit and His Light. Without it, nothing (including purity)can be filled (remember earth, in this case your life, is without form and void concerning purity) or changed. 2. Get on the Word: When you have his Spirit moving, next is to get His Word into you as much as possible. Faith (substance) comes from hearing and, hearing only, the Word of God. Not mixing it with David, Wizkid, BBNaija, Nairaland etc 3. Divide thyself: Be ready to separate yourself. When you desire purity of any form, it calls for a division. A difference of vision which leads to a deliberate separating from anything resembling what you do not want or inimical to your receiving total life purity wherein is sexual purity. When the Light comes into your life, you will see it's 'good', it's benefits for and in your life. And so naturally and as promised 'In the days of Your Power, Your people shall be willing' you naturally begin to draw away from triggers and enemies to your total life purity. 4. Condition your environment for God: The Bible says we were created to increase, multiply, replenish, subdue and have dominion. The revelation here is, whatsoever we allow to, that is what will increase, be multiplied, replenished, subdue us and have dominion over. So if you allow sexual immorality either mentally or physical, guess what, it will only increase. So you condition through praying in the Holy Ghost, fasting, spending consistent time in the Word and in fasting. Do these and you will see Holiness flood your life thereby producing total life purity. 5. Be conscious of yourself and the Presence of God, who cannot resist a holy person in these end times. Consciously serve God (worship God) anywhere and everywhere. Turning the other cheek, bless when abused, give up your seat for others, give alms, follow Jesus daily and before you realize it, total life purity in which is sexual purity will shine out of your life. It is possible, so testifies someone who was helped by the Holy Ghost and God during such challenging time |
