TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 9:00am On Oct 16, 2010
@Benom,your online print out is okay for interview. But if you want to receive any mail from the USA,Use a P.O BOX for efficient and safe delivery. All Nairalanders, learn from this.I used a P.O Box all through my admission process. Thanks to my intl Student Adviser who advised me on this though. For you to get it,it takes a Maximum of 10 working days. So,you are still good to go, lol

callygood,YES, you can.
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 5:38am On Oct 16, 2010
@Benom,why are you giving yourself unnecessary problem.Look for anyone that uses a P.O Box there in Naija and order ETS to send there. That is so simple. You sending to an address in USA is another red flag for and thank God you know yourself. How many times will i say it here that Post office wont bring letters to your doorstep.80% of mails rotten in their office. But if you use a PO box, they deliver it in there and you go pick it up.Hope these helps?

Rockafela,u are funny,Even your accomodation sef and expenses will take that 10k usd u are talking about.Na we know wetin we dey face here.My bro, schooling here is "sooooooooooooooo easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" if you have the dollars to pay,Then,u wont have problem. That 10k wont last you more than A semester and a half. This is not to discourage you but to let you know that you have to settle your financial needs before coming.Guy,e no easy.
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 6:23pm On Oct 10, 2010
@ Benom,if you are getting any letter from USA through their regular mail,Use a Post Office Box Address(P.O B0x) Thee post office people wont bring letter to your door step when it is not DHL or FEDEX or UPS.I think u get it.Normally,u get letters from USA between 6-10 working days.My admission package was sent to my po box and got it after working days,my WES Evaluation was after 7 working days. So,there is a problem somewhere even with your new address.I suspect your report is in the post office.Go there to verify and complain.

@Chukx4liv,Why not get to the bridge first before crossing the river? You can transfer after you get an admission and a F1 visa. You must have completed some certain credits that are transferrrable in your school before you can do that,You will have to talk to your course coordinator to be able to do this.Your friend will be definitely be issued another I-20, that is if His/Her deferment of admission is approved by the school. The new I-20 which will show a new resumption date and dont forget he will have to send them another financial statement of account for the school to be able to issue another I-20.Let your friend contact his/her intl adviser to be sure of what i am saying.I hope all these info suffice.

@Chux4liv,if your account is genuine, why are you afraid of the school verifying the account, that shows you are trying to play smart here.Whichever way,the school do not verify statement of accounts, the embassy too do not verify.I hope this helps.

@seniorak47,i am digging California too, You cant believe i have started working on my thesis already.Met my prof this morning and we went to the field together. How is Newyork? We cant wait to see you come over, alot of places for you to visit.I think Sanciro is still right even if he files far beyond the 90days.if he was to be given, what they will do is just hold his passport till when the 90days starts.that is not a red flag @ all.Seniorak47,what do you think about having a nairalander party in California?Does it make sense?
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 9:04pm On Sep 22, 2010
@Sanciro,yes,you will be filling another DS-160,All these consulars atimes hate straight answers.Straight answers was what killed me the first time in Abuja, when asked what you have been doing since you graduated from school, you should have told him you are a fresh graduate, just observed the mandatory NYSC scheme in the month so so so and want to further your education first before planning to work as that will give you an edge when you return back home.Infact, the next question he will ask you is "How will your studying in the USA give you an edge".These people are human beings like us,so we should expect what they will ask. When i was denied,i knew where the fault came from and i immediately ran here for advice, the same questions came and i answered excellently well.Imagine, the consular nodding his head in agreement of what i said, thanks to superbrain and seniorAk47 though.Sincerely speaking, deep inside you,you know where your Bleep up came from, let the house know and you will be fine the second time.I have this strong belief that you will get it this time around if you are being open totally to Nairaland not forgetting that God is the ultimate.Work and pray because heaven helps those who helps themselves.
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 9:37pm On Sep 21, 2010
I agree with Superbrain, you have to be more open and dont feel shy in letting us know where the fault came from.I knew where my fault came from at my first refusal and immediatelty threw it to the house for advice. The same questions were asked at the second time and i answered correctly, But it was because i have learnt my lessons and was fully prepared bro.Be open and let us know what the koko is.
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 9:09pm On Sep 21, 2010
Sanciro, dont be depressed,i was denied once and i am in California now,go again and i am sure you will get the VISA.You just need to be more prayerful, it is not a matter of number of people been denied before you.It is just God and only God, I remembered 6 people including student applicants were denied before me and i go the Visa eventually.I advice you book another apppointment and go again. The Lord will be with you.

TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 10:31pm On Sep 12, 2010
House,, please i need an advice.A brothers wife won a visa lottery and it was a fortunate thing for my brother and his wife. They both went to the Embassy for a scheduled interview. They went on MAY 11 and when they got there, they answered all the questions adequately, but the consular rescheduled them to come back on JULY 6, they came back and was questioned at the main lobby of the embassy. However, the official said they detected a few lapses, like the wife of my Brother was just 12years younger than her mom, which they said wasnt possible. The consular however told them to go and they would get in touch with them back, since then the embassy didnt call them and the visa lottery processing for everyone ends on September 30.however,since the embassy didnt call them since july,my brother feels its all over which i see as a wise mind-set.My Brother however went ahead to pick up a challenge against to go and school in the states and now he is afraid of making a move, as though he isnt sure maybe he has a rightful right to apply for a student visa, even after a latter signal of refusal for the visa lottery, please advice me so i can counsel him, should he apply for a student visa come spring or next year? Can he be considered? He wants to know if the Embassy allows him to apply for a studennt visa despite his condition.
