OP, in all sincerity I am yet to see that tart in Okoroji's letter that clearly match the suspicious "tearing apart" caption you gave to your post. Rather, Tony Okoroji only succeeded in eulogising GEJ an expressing disdain about FFK and other footmen of the president. If he (Okoroji) has any personal grudge against the president allies, he should direct his frustrations to those individuals and free our media landscape from giberish. But wait, what has "banging" in the word of Femi Kuiti got to do with someone being an ambassador? Even Bill Clinton admitted banging statehouse steward! Those things we term as sacrilege are normal day today events in other climes and God has not deemed it worthwhile to destroy them like He did in Noah's days( I am not promoting reckless banging though). Okoroji should stop parading himself as Mr.Clean in the mould of our Cerificate-shy Daura man. Simple. |

spillyboy14: CHRIS NGIGE PAID REVEREND FATHER MBAKA N850MILLION TO JOIN APC CAMPAIGN TEAM
It has been exposed that the APC through Chris Ngige secretly paid a controversial clergyman called Rev EJike Mbaka a whopping eight hundred and fifty million Naira, to attack Nigerian President Jonathan, as part of their strategic dirty campaign of lies, deceits, fabrication, distortion, intimidation and blackmail.
The money was arranged by River state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. It is not a secret that Amaechi has had some cold war with the President Jonathan. So When the idea of bribing the dodgy priest was brought up by El-rufai and Buhari, Amaechi quickly volunteered to make the fund available. A source who refused to reveal his identity quoted Gov. Ameachi saying " Every man has his price".
This is not the first time the controversial priest has patronized APC. During the Anambra state governorship election in November, 2013, 28 Worshippers died in a stampede caused by APC and its supporters.
Chris Ngige was heavily implicated on that tragedy. He tried in vain to blame it on Peter Obi who was then the governor of Anambra state.
But despite all the attempt to smear peter obi, it failed.
We have in our possession documented implicating APC and Chris Ngige to that tragedy and the current bribing of the despicable Rev Mbaka.
Source:http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/mbaka-utterances-embarrassment-to-the-catholic-community-omovusu/ OP, I am a die-hard supporter of Jonathan's reelection but I will never be part to propaganda. Buhari has constituted himself as a disgrace to the Nigerian Military institution. 2. He carries a legal and moral burden going into next month's polls. 3. If peradventure he wins( God forbid), his victory WILL be upturned by the court because he was not qualified to be on ballot papers having contravened a major electoral statue. 4. He sends wrong signals to young Nigerians that striving to obtain ordinary school cert is inconsequential to aspiring for leadership positions in Nigeria. Political alliance aside, any Nigerian that underplays this Buhari certificate scandal as a non-issue is either sick intellectually and morally or, glaringly shares common trait with him. |

Obiagelli: I agree with you but it all boils down to how the situation was handled.
Local and international media/organization condemned the killing of civilian, just like the other government faced such criticism. The US, Russia and even china faced criticisms too. Well, those climes are far ahead in individual and collective behaviour and attitude. Our diversities as a nation are too numerous and that explains why we hardly agree on anything. A case on hand was the just concluded National Conference. There are people in the north who still believe Boko haram is a creation of Jonathan to annihilate them. I am sure you know what I mean- NEC, NYF ACF press statements... |

Obiagelli: of course every group starts with a few peaceful individuals, the government allowed Bokoharam become what it is today. A group of ragtag criminals hiding in the bus to a monster claiming territory No, Oby. I disagree with such postulation. In my previous post, I dwelled on the complexity and complication inherent in managing Nigeria due to our apparent but often played down political and religious diversities. Don't forget that the pioneer leader of Boko haram was unexplainably killed in detention moments after he was captured by soldiers during Yaadua's reign. Up till today, nobody has come up with concrete evidence of circumstances that led to his extra judicial killing and that apparently transformed the sect to a volatile militia. Remember also what came up when the military went all-out against Shekau at the peripheral of Jonathan's administration? Local and international media were bombarded with allegations of Jonathan "killing the north", "committing genocide" and all sorts of offensive tirades. That's our wonderland called Nigeria. |

Obiagelli: France deploys 88,000 troops as Charlie Hebdo manhunt focuses northeast of Paris Two brothers allegedly responsible for the Charlie Hebdo killings which left 12 dead in Paris remain at large. Tens of thousands of security officers have joined a manhunt for Cherif and Said Kouachi. France has deployed tens of thousands of security forces in the hunt for two brothers accused of killing 12 people at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, a hunt which is now focused on a forest and several woodland villages northeast of Paris.
www.dw.de/france-deploys-88000-troops-as-charlie-hebdo-manhunt-focuses-northeast-of-paris/a-18180946 Oby, let me first of all say those two scenarios are largely incomparable. What do I mean? Please consider the following; 1. While the Charlie Hebdo incident took off as an outright offensive onslaught (hostage-for-relevance terror) Boko Haram did not not start on volatility note. In other words, It metamorphosed from a peaceful religious movement to the hydra-headed form it's today and that explained why spontaneous deploring of troops would not have been visible at the onset. No civilian government can deplore troops to quell unrest in any part of Nigeria without considering multifarious factors such as politics, religion and socio-cultural diversities. 2. Cast your mind back to the Russian hostage of 2004. That event was a replica(in fact carbon copy) of the Chibok abduction and that's why it amuses me when people blame the FG for foot dragging on forceful rescue of the girls. In that incident, a Russian public school was invaded by anti-Russian dissidents and more than 600 pupils and parents were held hostage. After series of unsuccessful negotiations, the Russian authority considered the hostage as an affront on their territorial integrity and decided to invade the school with highly trained commandos. Oby, what was the outcome? MORE THAN 300 PUPILS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE ENSUING CROSSFIRE even though almost all the invaders were killed. Please Google the word; SCHOOL NUMBER ONE RUSSIAN HOSTAGE, 2004 and take time to dissect the encapsulated events. So, coming back to your question, the above two scenerios point to why we should not go all out to give Jonathan blanket bashing for inability to tame Boko haram and release the girls. An haphazardly executed onslaught against Boko haram can result in massive collateral damage, the outcome of which Jonathan's govt may not survive. |

Politics › Re: Jonathan To Buhari: You Do Not Fight Corruption By Throwing People Into Jail by OLADD: 8:41am On Jan 10, 2015 |
FrancisDiote: President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said his administration has fought corruption more than other past administrations in the country, asking the opposition All progressives Congress, APC, to tell Nigerians how it would tackle corruption if voted into power in the country.
Jonathan spoke in Enugu while flagging off his second term re-election and governorship campaign at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
The South East flag- off rally attracted a large crowd of party supporters from the five south east states of Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi States.
The President, however, tongue lashed the presidential candidate of the APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the former head of state wanted power to throw people into jail as was the case in 1983, when he threw into jail, Igbo politicians like the former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, the former governors of old Anambra and Imo States, Chief Jim Nwobodo and late Chief Sam Mbakwe respectively among others out of sheer wickedness.
His words, ‘’Chief Alex Ekwueme; Sam Mbakwe were all thrown to jail by Buhari. Chief Jim Nwobodo was jailed 301 years before the successive administration released him. Corruption is fought by blocking loop h***s where public funds are looted from.
“We are fighting corruption through Information Commun-ication Technology,ICT. Our method is technology driven. We have changed the way we do government businesses. The fertiliser distribution scheme, which go directly to farmers is a key example.
“We have also modernised the system of salary disbursement through technology. This is one of the ways we are fighting corruption in the system. You do not fight it by locking people in Kirikiri and closing down their businesses. That is why the economy collapsed under Buhari’s watch.
http://www.rum704.com/2015/01/10/jonathan-to-buhari-you-do-not-fight-corruption-by-throwing-people-into-jail/ Don't twist facts. The president only said he will not throw people into jail arbitrarily without due judicial process. He further said that anybody convicted legally will go to jail. The best and most effective way to fight corruption in Nigeria is to block possible avenues and loopholes and that's what Jonathan administration has been doing. A clear example is the introduction of authomated payroll processing, an innovation that brought about elimination of ghost workers from Federal Civil Service. |
