PoliticsRe: The VP - Goodluck Jonathan - Is Corrupt by olanajim(m): 6:55am On Aug 03, 2007
Crownvilla, there is nothing funny about Mr Goodluck building his success on other people's misfortune. It is the truth. Check it out. HE BECAME DEPUTY GOV BY ACCIDENT, SOME POLITICIANS IN THE STATE LOST THEIR POLITICAL RELEVANCE AS A RESULT OF THAT ACTION. HE DIDN'T PRINT POSTERs, AND HE BECAME GOVERNOR, HIS BOSS SERVED IN PRISON. WHILE THE LIKE OF ODILI, DUKE, ETC WERE SPENDING MILLIONS TO AT LEAST BE MADE PRESITENT, GOODLUCK, HAD NO POLITICAL PLAN. THEN, THOSE HARD WORKING MEN FELL OUT WITH OBJ, AND GUESS WHAT? THE MAN THAT IS NOT EVEN SURE OF WINNING HIS STATE WAS MADE VP! Lucky indeed. He must reciprocate that luck with a measure of sincerity if he don't want reversal. He is serving Nigeria now and NOT Niger Delta. I doubt if he had political base even in his LG.

Let just hope, Yar'adua don't die or got impeached so that Goodluck may what he is: GOODLUCK!
PoliticsRe: The VP - Goodluck Jonathan - Is Corrupt by olanajim(m): 6:32am On Aug 03, 2007
The game he is playing is obvious. He might have filled misleading informations with the COC or he had already documented the property he want to steal while serving Nigeria. So, by the end of his tenure, he would not have to explain anything. Another possibility is that, he had a skeleton that would be exposed one he made it public. After all OBJ got away with his loot.

Naturally, he ought to follow his boss step. Atikus, Tinubus, all followed the step of the then president. It is therefore ridiculous for him to compare himself with Tinubu at all. Tinubu worked with oil firm so he may have cover. Atiku was once a custom officer, we are not suprised he made money from there. We know better as Naija. But a University lecturer amasing billions of dollar assets during a time our lecturers, were underpaid would have alot to explain. It is so simple. Going to COC is useless. They would never let you see the content. Don't forget OBJ refused to sign the FOI bill for reason, among others.

The only way to ensure Goodluck didn't bring bad luck is to keep him under close watch. Yar'adua should either reduce him to minister of Niger Delta, or make him redundance like OBJ did to Atiku.

He must keep a tab on his supposed goodluck.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Police Arrest For 'indecent' Dressing by olanajim(m): 5:50am On Aug 03, 2007
It is not rumour. I think they are only going after the extreme cases of indecency. I don't know their yardstick because they have only arrested a handful. The new commissioner of police had however reiterate his determination to check crime arising from prostitution. If you are not a pro and are not exposing your precious commodity, you are free.

Talking about police duty. The truth is that, they have power to arrest if your action is against public interest. Our freedom is still intact so long you don't walk naked on lagos streets.
FamilyRe: Polygamy, If Your Wife Asks You To. by olanajim(m): 5:35am On Aug 03, 2007
1, first there can never be legislation against polygamy in Nigeria as long as the muslims and traditionalists are in Nigeria. It is a wishful thinking. Go and see what happened to child right bill among others. Or why do you think shariah generated so much controversy and only become a state law when we have a christain president?

2, if my wife ask me to take a second wife, the first thing i will do is to find our if she is in her right sense. Other thing would follow later.
FamilyRe: Monogamy Causing Infidelity Among African Couples? by olanajim(m): 5:22am On Aug 03, 2007
Michelin, you are wrong. Marriage is not about men, alone. I also want to state that marriage is about two people. A fusion of two distinct personalities who had reached adulthood, and had formed their uniqued habit. One of the most difficult thing to change is habit. We all have one. That said.

When you enter into a marriage, you enter into a contract to live with and to be a part of your partner. You are not saying, you want to subjugate yourself to somebody or that you want to enslave somebody.

I agree, African mentality enchained women. I must add that in the advent of Islam and christainity, the world had been given wider options to choose from. It is your choice, if your hubby still got stuck to the old ways of treating women as object of servitude. You agreed to love him and gave your heart to him. Infact, no one should be blame when a woman willingly fall in love with a brute. It is her choice. She probably married for some other reasons and then HOPE THE MAN WOULD CHANGE. When women learn to reject bad guys regardless of the guy's ego, bad guys would adjust to women's need.

To the topic, we must never pretend the world is perfect or would be. Else, jesus christ would have made sins a things of the past. We know better. Divine laws are there to create check and balance. That is why God didn't condemn polygamy. I studied quran just as I study bible. I discovered to my chagrin that quran didn't say polygamy is a way of life. It placed enormous responsibilities on man to be faithful and just in his dealing with women. Little wonder, why women in core north don't experience as much marrital disharmony as the south. I am yet to see one verse in the bible that say polygamy is forbiden. I am still searching.

Men and women had diffence nature. Sometimes, regardless of our thought, ideas, or belief, we found that what we hate so much, do have it own usefulness.

Stand by you vow! He has two options. To stay by you or find somebody else.

Most ladies l6st their virginity in that manner. Eventually, when they had disagreement, they part way.

Be sensible though. You may not be able to date a man for over five years, do minor sexual acts, and still expect him not to demand for sex. If you really want to keep your virginity, DON'T GO INTO USELESS INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP.
FamilyRe: Monogamy Causing Infidelity Among African Couples? by olanajim(m): 6:44pm On Aug 02, 2007
I have read the contribution, it indeed contains nuisance values. Do you know what that mean? Check it out.

I figure out that you are a lady. I also figure out that you strongly detest polygamy. That is good. I am a man and a one man one woman type. Experience had shown that whenever men pretend there is no problem, while problems encircle them, they are eventually consumed. Perhaps if you could stick your head out of the confort zone, and feel what people with broken marriage had experienced you would understand the logic behind my contribution. I speak from experience and not out of sentiment. When relationship is heading toward doom as a result of OVERBEARANCE of one partner, mostly woman, the man is naturally going to explores available options. Unfortunately, he had limited one.

While I discourage cheating and dislike polygamy, my personal experiences with people on opposite side had given me indepth understanding of why nature tolerate polygamy. It may interest you to know that except jesus christ, and probably a handful of other prophets, virtually every prophet that live till old age is polygamous! Re-read your bible if you are endowed with bibilical gift as I am.

The only justification for monogamy and the strongest reference is on ADAM. Check it out. Why Adam has one wife is not part of this discurse.

What I want you to know is that, when you tie up a man in marriage in the name of monogamy, you must also be prepared to meet his needs. If you fail, if you just imagine he would rather go insane trying to put up with difficult ladies. Honestly, one need to be there to feel. It is not funny at all. A monogamy home, where two partners are constantly in conflict would either lead to cheating or break up. When break up is inevitable, someone would go mad. Check it out!

RomanceRe: Why Do Couples Loose Interest In One Another After Marriage? by olanajim(m): 7:36pm On Jul 31, 2007
Mcdoe, I understand your logic. You want to know why most couple lost the love steam after marriage rather than the way you put it. The question or the topic should have gone this way. 'why do couple lost interest in one another after marriage, or why do they seem to lose "steam" after marriage' We would then examine whether their is love in it or the love was simply lust.

Frankly, this topic could save alot of potential heartbreak and rescure a falling relationship. Let take it from there and see if we can get into the root of the problem. Bring out more and let examine them. Who knows we would be doing our generation a whole lot of good by helping them not to jump into marriage or jump out of marriage when the storm gather momentum.

As for the fellow who said not everybody is a product of marriage. Right and wrong. Right because, you are right. Some chaps were actually born out of wedlock. Some are product of lust. Yet,there were those who are a product of accidental discharge. A lot to say.

Wrong because you tried to generalise by using single parents who are not married. Most of these single parents actually married. Legally or illegally, marriage is marriage. Most of them come to that level because 'love turn sour' . In a way, you cannot use them as a perfect example. They are to me a great example of mis-match in love, marriage and relationship. They let sex drives beclouded their sense of judgement and fell for the wrong guy. Let us look at it critically and see if we could find out why love turn sour. Be it in marriage or dating. Many young lads could be saved of heart break.

The whole thing become more interesting, when you find that some "love birds date one another for over five years and still terminate the affair in acrimonious circumstance. Yet, some couples actually had few month date and ended in a lasting bliss. It isn't about marriage, the problem must be exhumed for "nairalanders' critical disection. It is not about a person but the society
CareerRe: Nigerian Society Of Engineer : Pls Help by olanajim(m): 9:55pm On Jul 29, 2007
HND holders would have to undertake NSE PGD Exam paper 1&2. The two papers are taken one after the other and it normally hold sometime in septembers. You are not allowed to sit for the two at once but you can be allowed to resit for a failed paper in the next stage. After passing the pgd, you would be given graduate membership cert. You would return after two years post PGD working experience to apply for corporate membership.

You can also use university PGD to apply for graduate membership in the same order. If you are interested in the exam, you may still be lucky to get a form now though I am not sure. Cheer

Any time I read about the VP, I always remember Robert Greene book "THE 48 LAWS OF POWER". From the way he rose from obscurity, looking so innocent and harmless, yet making a political career out of other people's ill-luck, there appear to be something fishy about him. Let just hope he won't stretch his goodluck too far this time. Nigerians must keep a close tab on him.

RomanceRe: Our Ladies Are Becoming Somehting Else by olanajim(m): 3:58pm On Jul 28, 2007
Firstly, it appear either men are losing their sights or they are ignoring ladies with modest beauty. This might have been the reason our ladies have decided to bare it all.

Secondly, it could equally be assumed that men are after all enjoying those spectacles or why are they running after the ladies?

Thirdly, more ladies are being dumped by men after undergoing painful heartbreak. Most of these ladies spent major part of their growing years plotting revenges, sulking, mourning, and regreting their lost love, so much that they were left behind by their generations. To "catch" a man for serious relationship, they have to resort to provocating dresses.

When the younger generation noticed that the "senior girls" are having a field day picking available young men as gigolo, thereby deprieving them of their right, they decided to match nudity for nudity. The cycle is being repeated. No thank to fashion industry. It is now the survival of the fittest. Real men are rare so ladies must anything to get their man. They are not crazy at all. They are helping our men to discover more hidden treasures so that our world could be a little better than the jungle.

RomanceRe: Should I Let Ma Emotions Rule Me( Urgent Advice Pls) by olanajim(m): 12:14pm On Jul 28, 2007
If you are still very young, then you have better chance ahead. you must learn to hold your emotion in check when dealing with men. Don't let them see you as desperate. Men don't take desperate ladies serious. You can be friends, but don't lose head. Be strong and focus your energy on your persanal development. Good ladies are like magnets, they attract easily both sand and iron. But with sound judgement, you can seperate sand from iron. Stay away from men that had made it clear they don't love you. You can be friend ok.

You can shake off the passion you feel for him. Mingle with friends. Stay close to those who would make you smile and forget your disappointment. You are young, you can be happy because happiness is your right. But you alone can make it happen by refusing to give power to every fleeing passion that cross your heart. Good luck

It is not as if we can not do it. We have people that can do it and of course the money. But this Nigerian mentality of doing things from abroad must be stopped. We must show the world we are capable. Another problem is misplaced priority. Why build nuke plant when we can hardly maintain hydro plant? No wonder the date was shifted forward. We hope by then, we would have learn to do simple maintainance of the existing facilities. Or at least our foregn professionals would have started returning home to help fix the sick country. The future is bright for the giant of Africa.

And what happen when the woman expired and the man still yearning for action? Must he castrate himself or rejuvenate his wife? That is if we look at it from sexual angles.

From moral angle, if a man discover a vacuum is created by his wife from other departments, do you favour him brutalising the poor woman, divorce her, or get a second wife? The only viable options other than the aforementioned is naturally, infidelity. Check it out. The lady has the choice to make.
FamilyRe: Why Would A Man Go For A Second Wife? by olanajim(m): 8:50am On Jul 28, 2007
I strongly disagree with the notion that men marry 2nd wife because of their greeds and sexual drive. If this applied, then, what should we say of men that marry at old age even though their sexual drive might have gone. Nelson Mandella actually divorced his wife of many years and re-marry at an old age. He was certainy not greedy or lustful. He had been happily re-married since.

When we look at men who marries second wife, we would notice the second wife or third, whatsoever, is there to fill a vacuum that the old wlfe either created or could not fill. Another reason would be that, the man do it for humanitarian reasons(to help singles get a home). All these talks about lust is just being evasive of the reality. Most of the oppositions naturally come from women folk. Ironically, it was and is still the same womenfolk that made polygamy attractive. They gave it legitimacy!

Women make polygamy a reality by consciously entering into relationship with married men. It is not as if single men don't relate with married women. Men had conditioned themselves to reject polyandry. What stop women from doing same? Culture? Force? Women had been forced into marriages. In most cases, they consented to marry a married man.

I do not want my own opinion, which is that, I favours monogamy to becloud my judgement. The truth is that, polygamy, with all it negatives is beneficial to mankind.

Saying there is no peace in polygamy is inaccurate. Though, I am not polygamous, I actually came from a very peaceful polygamous home. I had never withnessed any scufle or open disagreement among the rivals. Yet ours is not a perfect one. I know a couple of peaceful polygamous families. Yet, I have lived in one of the most turbulent monogamous home I ever seen, Providence made me lived with them for 4 years. The home stabilized only after the man get a second wife!

We must realize that the whole things depends on the couple. Many women owe their happiness to polygamy.

Good suggestion! I guess, Chad, Niger would be too anxious host such plant at no cost to their purse. At least they would become popular like Iran. The only trouble are terrorists. You know those guys and their antics.

By the way, Nigerian leader won't find this idea strange at all. They have done it before. Twice to say. Check out our NIGCOMSAT-3 and you'll appreciate how Naija fantasy can transform to reality. Conceived in Naija, made and created in China, lanuched in china. Operated from china, until recently. I heard it was even funded by China. So Nuke idea could be a reality after all. Let do it!
