                   The owner has to order a special lnb from US which am yet to confirm the name but i think its a 0.2db or 0.1db who knows.
the LNB the owner ordered is here yet or not? LNB from the US hardly work in this part of the world.

regarding signal drops, here in lagos, we experince peak signals at night, very strange

@george_d

i will try the invacom again tomorrow, i informed the house before that i was hesitant to cut the LNB, but tomorrow, i will go ahead and cut it. i will give you the feedback on the quad output of it when i am sure my own is working well. also, the guy is game for the mutliswitch for 10k.

@pito, george_d and butoneday

nice work. but, part of what you have to consider is the cost of bringing all these FTA package under one satellite. it's not cheap my brother.

why would you need to construct a neck for a 1.8m dish when you can buy a polar mount. besides i already posted pictures of my installation which contains the neck of the 2.4m and the three LNB holder. check season 2.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by olofofo(m): 7:50pm On Mar 26, 2009
@george_d

me angry? what in the world will make you suggest that? now am pissed. i will make enquiries for you tomorrow. skipped my mind that whyy sha.

if i may contribute something on this fake and original fuji issue, i use an LNB called stargold fuji, which is supposed to be the "fake" fuji and it gave me a better signal than the original fuji. even adewest was impressed with it's performance., badaru on the other hand enjoys santek more than any other lnb. am giving a new more expensive LNB called invacom a try on saturday, maybe i will get showsport on my 2.4, who knows. sizewise it's the size of two fuji LNBs.

origiinal fuji is 2800, stargold is 2500, santek is 3000 (currently none in the market), invacom is 6k.

i get you. na dem knwo wetin dey do them.

@lagoSky
i have never seen the dish you speak of and am in lagos too. meanwhile, i f you are serious about getting nilesat in lagos, you might want to stick to the tested and proven STRONG 2.4m pan dishes.

are you saying it cost the same thing to be on the all types on satellites? is this same for cband and KU? i suggest you check well well.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by olofofo(m): 7:25pm On Mar 25, 2009
pitodenz:
@ olofofo
because u re in lagos. Those station re not in terrestrial in most part of the country apart from Ait which i know is in ph and Nta which is everywhere.
what they all get is a regional license which limits their coverage to states. the richers ones like AIT have been able to secure licenses to broadcast to some commercially viable states.

being on certain kind of satellites like w4 and pas 10ku is really not that cheap.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by olofofo(m): 5:10pm On Mar 25, 2009
@george and olason

why would you want to receive silverbird or AIT on satellite when you can conveniently receive them on your terrestrial antennas. those beams you speak of are for Nigerians outside of the country. also, i believe that Nigerian broadcasting commission laws which require licenses for them to operate every time they open in a new Nigerian city is also limiting, plus the finnacial restraints will make it quite difficult for them to be FTA on satellites that have have strong beams over Nigeria. they will have to pay huge sums to be on either W4, PAS 10KU, EUTELSAT W3 etc.

check that fact out.

@all and especially Pito

just because we can not watch premiership on abra card now, the card is dead? Nigerians are such funny lot, remember the card itself came with no guarantees. no one prromised you hat it will be on forever, that's why there's a support site.

this is a little insight into why Abracadabra card is one of the best thing to have happened to us in this part of the word. unlike other type of cards like the gamma card, echolink is one of the few decoder based card programmer, which means that the decoder does the programming for you and you do not need expensive programmers like http://www.infinityusb.com/default.asp?show=productsdetail&ProductID=11 which currently goes for about 50k in the nigerian market.

My advice is that if you are going to need the echolink and clones strictly to watch football, then you might want to rethink that because, there's a lot more to enjoy than football on it.

support will come and it will go and that is some of the fun part. those that are impatient and are fed up should try gamma card or the new coco MCR, as for the K3 mentioned by badaru some time ago, it's been dead for about 3 years now. but please note that programming the card will be the biggest challenge you will face, so please pray for MORESAT to keep providing support. the best is yet to come. always believe that.

meanwhile BUTONEDAY should gives us an update on the gamma card since baba has refused to give us any.

@enitan

to try take echolink show live match of late will be like a death sentence oooooooooo.

@ola

the Journey goes on for my team. we still dey kampe.
