Before I left for Nigeria in January, I thought Buhari was actually popular as being proclaimed on NL, On arriving Nigeria and going round the country visiting families and friends, I discovered to my utmost disappointment Buhari is not a potential candidate to win in April. I just hope after this he will retire and concentrate more on his family.  grin grin grin

I am so pained that most NLers do not understand Nigeria. I don't know if its from living abroad or just having no connection with the vibes of the country around you. The very suggestion is ridiculous.

An Egypt style revolution is not possible in Nigeria. Period.
Nigerians are too ethnically and religiously bigotted to act in unison, at best we will have a war.
So true, they truely don't have connection with the vibes around them, Guess why?, cos they don't interact and parcitipate to connect with the society they found themselves, some of them just believe being abroad is about touching hard currency, food and gbadu, so what do u get?, same mumuism. grin grin grin grin

Remember I told you earlier, BOTH OF YOU CANNOT BE RIGHThuh Yeah, so , I am sorry but you are best looking for someone who is daft to sell that to.

http://www.nigeriapowerreform.org/index.php/policy-framework

Again, we are told of a reform to formally private PHCN(which is the umbrella name under which every power project has functioned under even up till now), so again, If Privatization begins in June/July and the government is still engaged in building Power plants even now, either we are getting privatized or not. Which is it, it cannot be both! We have already laid off PHCN workers so why are we then still building power plants?
I would'nt even waste my time to try to convince u, I'm just telling u what I know and u are free to believe what u want to believe.

Building a power plant is not like cooking akara, its takes time and resources, even as super advanced as europe is constructing project takes time and delivery dates are prosponed severally talkingless of Nigeria that sourced the technology somewhere else.
PoliticsRe: Is Nairaland Pro-Buhari? by omanzo02: 12:35am On Mar 22, 2011
Kobojunkie:
Again, I have been led to believe, like so many other Nigerians out there that Power reform means by June/July of this year Government hands over existing plants to the private sector. So the idea that the same Government is still building plants goes against what we were told of this. If you check the link, I was told NO NEW PLANTS --- so, going by that, I can then ask where in the world the money is going if we are building NO NEW PLANTS. grin
The government have a particular planned power stations to build, the existing ones already built will be handed over to the private sectors, and those fund has been sourced for would be awarded out, the existing one could sustain the present energy needs of Nigeria for a stable power supply, what about the future?, the demand for power will keep rising as new industries, commerce and residential houses springs up. Note, another fase of power plant contruction will still come.

Are you a Goodluck Jonathan supporter? I think you will find this fascinating.
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-624582.96.html

Some days ago, I explained to one of the Goodluck Jonathan admins on Nairaland on this and I was told there was NO POWER generation plants construction going on, after I showed a link, on the power reform site(where part of the reform includes Government stopping all new power plant projects),an article showing that news contracts were actually being still being given even in 2011.

Just so you know, I know that you cannot be right and the other guy right too. grin

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-624582.96.html
I am a Nigeria's supporter, so u think a reputable German company will place a false declaration or news on their website?, there is an EU law that mandate company to openly declare huge contract of this magnitude, we call it in dutch "bekendmaken", There are huge interest in Nigeria power and energy aspiration, I have a lot of friends working in Electrabel, Nuon and Suez, they openly admitted it may be too late when their management may finally decide to venture into nigeria, so far the Germans and Chines a taking the giant steps.
PoliticsRe: Is Nairaland Pro-Buhari? by omanzo02: 11:48pm On Mar 21, 2011
Kobojunkie:
We are NOT building any plants though so where is the money going?
Check the link out, this is one of the company that received contract for the construction of power plant in Nigeria via siemens in Germany, its easy to cross check the fact than assumptions, some of the materials needed for the constructions have been out sourced to arcellor mittal in belgium which has pushed the delivery date for the equipment the firm I work for ordered by 5 days, Tata steel ( formerly called Corus) in IJmuiden in the Netherlands are also manufacturing materials for the power plants in Nigeria. Many companies In europe are waiting for the outcome of the forthcoming election before scrambling for a stake in Nigeria power project, Energy is big business here in europe and Nigeria is potential market to develop.

Sagamite,

All u know how to do is criticised, call names and throw stones as if your life depend on it.

Let me inform your clueless head, I work for a reputable bulk storage (silo's), Robots and conveyors contruction and installation firm in Belgium, We have load of customers in Nigeria and all over the world, my team and I have executed projects in Nigeria (as expatriates) , During installations I usually recommend the assistance of the technicians of our customers so that they would have an in-depth understanding of our products and after installation we train them to handle the equipments on their own, So doing they don't have to rely on us in maintenance, repair and renovations.

You can see that as a NigerianBelgian I have been able to transfer my technological ability to my country of origin.

so tell us your countribution other than spewing rubbish on NL?.

You are reetarded!

So your excuse is no more comparing BBC to NN24, now it is reach and constitution?

Mooron, who ever said it was a constitutional requirement that Silverback should attend?

What makes you think a network needs constitutional empowerment to organise a presidential debate?

Can you see how f'ed you are with the moooronic education you got?

Fooool!

Something tells me that either:

A) There will be some "technical glitch" that will make the BON debate be cancelled.

B) BON will do a format that favours Jonathan, e.g. provide expo to all (or only him) in advance OR have a completely biased facilitator that will protect him from tough questions.
NN24 dont have the recognition to organise a debate of that magnitude, tell your candidate BB and co to go do door to door campaigne if they really mean to reach out to the people.

Lol, Dude, my moroonic education has earned me the opportunity to contribute my quota to the industrial development of Nigeria.

You are reetarded!

You are comparing NN24 to BBC?

Who told you NN24 is foreign owned or focused?

You are comparing Yaradua refusing to speak to any local media for weeks with citizens not knowing where their President was and then granting interview to BBC to Jonathan being invited for a debate in Nigeria by a Nigerian company in Abuja?

So what if NN24 has content affiliation with CNN? So Cameron will not interview with Sky that is UK based and focused because it is owned by an Australian?

You are DUMB! STFU!
Keep on shouting Mr Fool, NN24 dont have a wider reach, so dont blame GEJ for your illegality life in UK, U don't even live in Nigeria and from the way speak u dont know the reality on the ground than 'hear say'. NN24 can interview the president but dont have the constitutional legal basis to organise a presidential debate.

so go get a life.

We are exposing our hypocrisy again, go on guys u are doing just good in it, When Jar'Adua spoke to Nigeria via BBC from Saudi Arabia, he was called names and cursed, so u expect GEJ to feature in a debate organised by NN24 and CNN, right?, so explain to me why the English, US and french choose to debate on BBC, ABC and TFI repectively?.

I was on holiday in Greece when tanker drivers went on strike for some days, The queue at filling station was longer than I ever witness in Nigeria, If it were in Nigeria they would blame it on GEJ. GEJ this, GEJ that.

Hahaha!, A believer will do what it takes to see his believe thru, 75% Nigeria may be poor but don't underestimate what feat their contribution of 5 Naira, 1,2,3,4 kobo could achieve for BB campaigne if the have the followership. This method just won an election for a small party in Belgium that now become the biggest in the country. Yeah I know your reply, why am I comparing Belgium to Nigeria.

Jarus:
I disagree with you, with due respect. Buhari's manifestoes, as available on their campaign website, is well though-out, measurable, realistic and achievable.

You probably mistook publicity, which Atiku, with his money, was able to give his own, for superiority.

If Buhari had the money to splash his manifesto, point by point, on newspapers pages on daily basis basis like Atiku did, you would have been aware of his programmes.

So the fact that Buhari doesn't have money to put his programme on every available public space doesn't mean he has none. He has it on his website and he has been mouthing in his campaign speeches as well.
Jarus,

If Buhari cannot convince the business society, party members and solidarity members like u to contribute fund to prosecute his campaign to ensure victory then he doe'nt have a large followership to win the election, If he is the true Nigeria's messiah in the waiting I think Nigerians will be willing to provide him with fund to make his popularity stand.

This election is about North Vs South and zoning. Explain to me why the so called tribal opposition parties only fielded Muslim northerners as their candidates. I would have considered them serious if they had fielded a northern Christian or a southern Muslim.

ANPP in all its history is yet to field a Christian southerner as presidential candidate. Meanwhile ACN has two Muslims running yet Christian aren't crying foul or rioting or even worse, ,  but imagine if it had been two Christians there would have been fire on the mountain by now, no?

PoliticsRe: Bomb blast kills three near Nigeria election rally by omanzo02: 7:58pm On Mar 04, 2011
What amaze me most here is most Buharist here are diasporas and Nigerians who don't step out of their local government area nor their state or have a clue of the reality on the ground about april poll other than reading and digesting wire and newspaper( free readers association members)  propaganda from Buhari.

I was in Nigeria 2 weeks ago and I could'nt find any proof, assurance or indication that Buhari is a strong contender in April, I was in NW, SS, SE, NC and NE to visit friends and family members and Buhari don't seem to be the people's first choice, I chatted with the common men and women wherever I go to guage their perception on the current political dispensation, PDP may not be the darling party but has been able to reachout and speak with the electorate in person, But the people don't see CPC'ers and ACN'ers, man Nigerians are more wiser than we think on NL. The reality on the ground is that a regional polical party that believe he can win a national election is living in the wildest fantasy land. My advice for Buhari/Buharist is to nurture CPC till it becomes a national property and try again in 2015.

From what I saw and experienced, those who thinks Dodan barrack records and religious favour will win in april for Buhari should prepare for a shocker when it's all over for him, believe it or not GEJ will smash Buhari with a wide magine without rigging and still he's going to scream he was rigged, want to bet?

Well, then I hope NL will still be in existed to hear your sermon.

peace and out.
