That is really difficult situation for both of them, how did they manage to survive?

He was working until a couple of weeks ago when he had to leave his job abruptly. I don't know if he'll want to marry a lady for the purpose of 'papers'. I know him in the church and they preach against that there. Won't it be hypocrisy

Anyway, I'll ask him more when/if I see him today.

We have Nigerian immigrants that think that they can flog their children in the UK. The law there is different but they think the bible supersedes the law- spoil the rod and spoil the child.

I was visiting a friend in hospital (St George's), children's ward, when the police and social services came to visit one of the mums on the ward. She had broken her son's arm in a fit of rage which led to the boy being hospitalised. She was crying and saying over and over again, "He made me angry. I didn't mean to". She was white!!!

and you are comparing snowball fighting to halloween

Lord have mercy grin

I think snowball fighting is even worse as the snow fell most days that time - sometimes up to a month - and we'd be couped up indoors. Halloween is only one bladdie day in a year. The children will get over it.

pheyikemi: or beta still he can re-apply 4d visa

Thanks for your input. Can he re-apply over here? I feel so sorry for him and didn't know what to say. He's a nice guy really and if he hadn't confided in me, I wouldn't have known he's illegal.

Hello house,

A friend confided in me a couple of days ago that he "has no papers". He said he had to run away from his job as the immigration were doing spot checks etc. He has been here 8 years. Things are now tight for him. Apart from returning to Nigeria, which he doesn't want to do, what are his chances? Prayers??

He has a wife here but I don't know if they are legally married or just co-habiting. I don't know if they have children.

Thanks.

What memories would they be able to share with others and even your grand kids except ''Momma banned me from doing it. Never understood why.''

My mum banned us from playing out in the snow when we were younger. We would be watching longingly at the other children all having snowball fights & building snowmen with our noses pressed to the windowpane. We're still here and still alive. It hasn't marred me in anyway. KMT lipsrsealed
