Thank you Jesus. All Glory be to God.
Special thanks to everyone of you that make up this community rendering selfless services to complete strangers. May God bless you all and make your dreams come true. To all those still waiting- God has a plan for you. It may tarry, but wait for it. It will happen in its time and will equally be as glorious. No such thing as delay with God.

24/09/16: IELTS (10pts)
26/03/17: EA assessment (263312)
28/04/17: positive outcome
02/05/17: EOI 65pts (Age-25, Degree-15, IELTS-10, Exp-15)
09/05/17: ITA
09/05/17: Medicals (Fatai Williams)
12/05/17: Visa application
12/05/17: Docs upload (Front-loaded all)
27/07/17: CO contact (ouch!) Asked for birth certificate and OPV
19/10/17: Grant (GSM Adelaide)

Didn't know it will take this long hence my reason for quoting my old post. "He has made everything beautiful in its time...." Ecc 3:11
I learnt patience mehn! I also experienced different episodes during the wait. The last episode where I didn't care anymore and focused on other projects in my life mad a lot of sense (The earlier you got into this phase the better cos you won't have to worry about DIBP or be waking up early to check emails cheesy grin ).

Notes: I uploaded OPV initially and I thought it was in the appropriate section. Anyway, make sure you upload under the appropriate heading and NAME accordingly
International passport was uploaded under birth certificate but CO returned to ask for birth Cert again (clearly depends on your CO). Luckily I was already processing one from National Population Commission at the time of application.
Experience matters grin cheesy grin
I didn't assess experience with EA even though my Career episodes were strictly based on my work experience. Interestingly, no experience verification was done by DIBP (I had approached my HR last week to confirm. Don't know if any contact was made afterwards).

Now I can focus. Decisions will be easier to make now. Should I change car? Renew rent? Buy this or that? Apply for that job? etc. Off to prepare for some certifications before leaving. cheesy cheesy cheesy

So many in that your thread that are ignorant of this. I remember meeting one Engineering graduate at Fatai Williams. I was almost begging him to go via PR but the guy didn't yield. He claims he doesn't like PR wahala that when he gets there he can always process it. I just left him......too much money.....omo baba Olowo.

I can't read through the thread, it's hectic and not encouraging. Pls could you explain better here?
grin grin grin Pele

Believe me you might still have to read like first 10 pages otherwise, you will be asking some 'funny' questions here.
Not all assessing bodies require work experience. Engineers Australia is a notable example. Some require post degree experience etc
So identify your assessing authority first, visit their website and READ tongue what their requirements are.

Good day house.... Please a quick question especially for VETASSESS based occupations....

1. Did you put your monthly/annual salary in Dollars or Naira?

2. I stumbled on a official letter headed reference I was given 2 years ago where I did my Internship, there was no specification of Daily tasks, No indication of salaries paid even though it was stated in the letter that it was a 1 year paid employment. The address was put as to whom it may concern which I am thinking of inserting the address of the Assessing body there cos there was a good space left. I have all my payslips, and official offer letter as well as certificates of completion .
Can I attach a page behind indicating the left out info or do I discard this grand plan?

3. For those of us who served in the village where you were the doctor, nurse, physio, and only life saver there... who referenced for you...?
1. You can use annual gross in Naira
2. Ditch that plan. Format used not acceptable. By the way, Ref letter addressed to assessing body can also be used for Visa application.
3. LOL @ only life saver. You must served in a health facility nah. Where were consultations held? Abi you were the original village life saver ni? grin

I was asked when I did mine, in fact, that was what delayed mine. I think it all boils down to the person doing your assessment.
You probably submitted only payslips as evidence of payment. A third party evidence is required e.g. Pension statement, Tax cert or bank statements.

I want you to please help make clarifications on this.
My first degree is electronic/Electrical engr (Telecoms option)
By nov this year it will make 5 years that I have been working in a Telecommunication company and I wrote my CDR, the three CES based on what I do @work and I nominated Telecom network engr.
Now my problem is that my employment letter does not carry the name of the Telecom coy because all staff were recruited like that and seconded to the firm.My pay slip carries the Telecom comapany name,My ID card and on my cv I have the Telecom companies name as employer's name.
So how do I solve the issue of reference letter in this case?
Thank you
Looks like a Glo staff scenario.

If you're foreclosing option of approaching the HR of the Telco, Then the alternative available to the best of my knowledge is getting a Statutory Declaration from a reliable superior in the Telco.
Is there a letter of secondment to the Telco? If there is, you should be able to process the Ref letter via the Outsourcing company.
You might wanna hold while someone who's more familiar with this scenario pops in.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Omooloriredade: 5:41pm On Sep 17, 2017
Jayooh, why don't you get a Reference letter if it's not too much of a bother without neglecting the emphasis on CDR quality.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Omooloriredade: 5:35pm On Sep 17, 2017
@ Duch1020, so Pearson sent you a mail admitting their error, remarked and made sure you scored above 79 in all band (ojoro). They didn't stop there, they still want to refund the money paid for the 5th. Odi kwa wonderful.
I like the sequence, one on the heel of the other. Congratulations on your grant too. You're blessed sha.

@ Samge, God makes everything beautiful in its time. No time was wasted or lost. But I gotta admit you have a fat deposit of patience sha. The thought of waiting that long gives me the shivers.

Congratulations to all others who got grants the past week.

@ Phlunter01, if the birth certificate you have is not the one issued by the National Population Commission, you can explore the option of processing a new one with them. You can change whatever you feel like changing then. I got mine processed in less than a week (outside Lagos). You can never tell if the CO will request for this.

Hopefully oo.

What stricter English language requirements can surpass what is already in place. I am not sure they know the number of times applicants write before getting "superior' English? They should not even think about it. English is not easy fah

4 years to wait for PR? No. 4yrs for citizenship as a PR holder

And to cap it a test of Australian values was also part of the proposal. How would this be assessed? Competence in Aboriginal studies? LOL

God help us.

Our country may have failed us but we all will make a better nation for ourselves outside of these shores. Nigeria may have failed us but we owe it to the future never to fail each other. God bless us all.
Hmm....I felt a need to correct an impression here seeing the emphasis you laid.
Kindly imagine what would happen in a decade if there was a transfer of people (everyone) in Australia to Nigeria and vice versa. I leave you to your imaginations.
To a large extent, WE failed Nigeria (a country) after which we are called by the decision we took, our actions and inactions etc
Same way God made man and gave us the earth to cultivate and flourish in. So many things are wrong with the world we live in today. Who's to blame? The world itself?
As we migrate to Australia, we have no choice but to adapt, reorientate where necessary. If Australia permits migrants to "to do as they do" back home, we will turn Australia to "Nigeria" in no time.

Please don't take this personal...... it's a popular belief I don't subscribe to. Hence, my response. Cheers.

If ur Australian visa expires nd u want to remain behind how do u go about it. Like working nd renting an apartment
What kind of Visa? Visa renewal or bridging? I want to assume it's not a tourist visa because Illegality is not promoted/encouraged here. There should be a legit way to actualize your dream.

Plus the bridge climb starts at AUD 158 and it's a very romantic activity, not sure I can do that with another man cheesy
I fought the urge to do the local currency conversion common to intending and new migrants but I succumbed.
That amount is north of N40k. I had to scroll up to check the bridge again. To climb bridge ohuh grin grin
The "very romantic activity " phrase caught my attention sha. So I'd definitely get a Yes if I took a woman there then, else I refuse to leave the bridge o. 40k investment that must yield fruit. Otherwise, "Man refuses to leave bridge after his woman turned down his proposal" will be news flash that evening. Ain't going nowhere till they get a woman to say Yes. undecided

I am applying as a student.
Will it be wise to leave my one year old child behind or I should carry the child alonghuh

For my spouse. We have agreed he will join me later cos of the funds.
Don't think it will be wise going with your 1 year old child. You'll definitely need the support of your husband. You need him working and making that money for child care. They should join you asap though. My opinion.

im not understanding...its strange to see the degree is fine but not experience in nominated anzsco, and i aligned my employer ref shows my JD is aligned to the nominated anzcso..dont know if its to appeal the assessment or nominate another occupation say computer network eng since my earlier role was NOC engineer for them to review...totally confusing.
Are you sure you should not have assessed as a Telecoms Network Engineer (263312)?
You have a degree in electrical/ electronics and work as a NOC Engineer.

You can apply for a state sponsorship if there is any state sponsoring the occupation.

It will be at interbank rate..
Banks don't use interbank rate for their customers. N360/ $ is used. This is an official exchange rate for this class of transactions. We have several official exchange rates. Lol.
Anyone concerned could check abokifx dot com for daily rates charged by banks for card transactions online and ATMs/POS abroad. N360/ $ does not apply here. It varies.

Im uninterested in the bolder and it's axiomatic.
You've all deviated from my questions which are:
**will my 2 employment be sufficient for cod or that's a red flag
***secondly, if I do use these, will EA then go ahead to verify the employments eventhough I don't wish to assess experience?
Employment is not CPD to the best of my knowledge. Might not fly.

Isn't the bolded what we do for ourselves here on the thread - when we help others proof-read and edit their write ups? You might want to check my modified comment above.......no one stipulates you must write your CV yourself, you only must be able to defend a CV or be humiliated.
Okay boss. No issues. DIY is the way to go.

cpd = continuous professional development. Means how you have continued to develop yourself since the end of your degree. Cpd includes and not limited to engineering seminars or workshops you have attended, conferences, book, journals etc that you have read, even software training, private study, post-grad study.. etc NA cpd. refer to MSA booklet for more information
Exactly!
@jayooh
You might not be asked to prove your CPD except it appears spurious. I didn't attach any document to backup my CPD but I guess One or two could have been confirmed online.
But please no magomago o. EA assessment is usually easy-peasy.

Edit: Title/Topic, institution name, date and certificate/diploma earned should be listed where applicable.

True. Professional CDR writers will always ask you to write your ~episodes~ experience yourself. They only structure/ arrange your write-up to fit the format requested of EA. Do you have an idea of how Resume writers operate? You would understand my point. They can't concoct your experience. Can you pay someone to rewrite your resume? You then begin to wonder the justification for the fees they charge. Hence the reason why DIY is encouraged here. Google sample CDR,Resume or cover letters and you could do the job yourself. But I wouldn't say enlisting the services of pros is wrong. I hope you find the CDR, Resume and Cover letter comparisons applicable here.
Do you also appreciate that you can apply for Visas yourself(and it's encouraged) but that doesn't make agents criminals except for the ones that lack integrity and manufacture (lol) documents for clients?

Before I begin to appear as an agent/jobber, make I rest my case for here. Just thoughts .... nothing serious.
