babythug:Aww, thanks ![]() Where is the Seniors' Thread, I know it's in Family section but I can't find it because I don't remember its title. Please drop a link so I can post there too.I |
I know a lot of us have hand Sanitizers hanging around our homes, and that's actually not very safe. Because kids can drink them! So what do you do when that happens: https://nefescorner.com/drunk-on-hand-sanitiser/ |
portable4real:Thanks for enquiring, we're good o! Enjoying our newest Drama programming, "Naija Politics" ![]() Blog is doing great, we have some nice new posts up and a very informative one up right now sef. It's www.nefescorner.com. please check it out, we wanna add something different than you normally see everywhere. StrongWoman333, I'm glad the post on picking a school or creche is helping you, thanks for your kind words. It really glad to know we're doing something right. |
Good morning mamas! A long read, but well worth it. Please share! www.nefescorner.com/to-lay-down-the-law-tips-on-discipline/ |

New post on Libido and Sexual Satisfaction is now up! Please check www.nefescorner.com (I don't want to be banned for posting the links here because of its explicit nature). And btw, everyone involved in those posts are all mothers in their 30s. So no flat tummys and they understand where we are all coming from. And if you want to model for Anike's Closet, she is looking for una, no flat tummy required. It's very empowering to be strutting around in fishnet body stocking or thong and feathers, grabbing your ass. Again, I cannot confirm or deny whether or not my picture doing or wearing something is on her page ![]()

Bloomingbud:I can't access my dm emails so please send to nefesnappies at gmail dot com and I'll reply. |
Bloomingbud:GH Lagos Island, Emel Hospital Festac, Healing Stripes Oniru (Lekki). Or you contact him privately if I give you his contact. |
phlakkeys:Libido? Hmmmm Lilliesbud12 Okay, so if you can wait till afternoon today, there is actually a post coming up on the blog about Libido and Sexx. We interviewed the owner of a Sex store and the lead dancer in a Gentleman's club (look up the meaning) in Lekki (these are the girls earning in $). I don't know if I am brave enough to post the links in public (for goodness'sake, they explicitly described how to give and get "head" they are insane, they told me I have a long tongue sef and how to use it, ewwoooo). But yeah, check the blog today...Oh, and after reading the posts, if you wanna model for the Sex store owner, I'll put up her contact details. Same for purchasing from her. 2 posts are up now on the blog www.nefescorner.com. Those ladies are mad and D'Vine even has a 3rd post ready to go (but I said she should hold on for now ). I can neither confirm nor deny whether or not I deployed those tips in that post ![]() |
New post wayyyy up! Please this was my life and omo, I thank the Lord I got help (because I ran into one cocky olodo who rejected me in uni at Shoprite a week later )Tips on dressing! www.nefescorner.com/5-days-of-fashion-for-mums/ https://nefescorner.com/reclaiming-yourself/ Love the examples we picked and this is Balogun o! Some people have eye. What surprised me was our style person recommended not wearing jeans unless it was a Friday. She says it's actually pretty difficult to dress up jeans and a nice pair of pants look classier. Anyhoo, I took her advice and now I look like a Lekki Wife (all baffed up with millions in my account and 2 nannies, one driver and a holiday home in London) |
imurboss:Thanks! I made my friend go through the steps and she immediately saw the expensive school she wanted was not for her. The calibre of teachers were more like Teaching assistants/class nannies but the school was charging N850,000 per annum (minus extras). Another friend read it and jejely withdrew her son from his school (he's asthmatic and they have no school nurse, that's a huge risk). |
spiceeamiee:Tiptoeing needs Orthopaedic shoes. They're specially made for your child and weighted so it forces them to keep their feet planted to the ground. You probaby have to go to Igbobi hospital to get a recommendation. If not, ask your doctor. Walking, some babies don't walk fast. Just ignore her and give it 2 more months, she should be dancing shaku shaku. HTH. |
Devosequence:I don't know. But I'll make some educated guesses and say "if they are blended and dries properly, stored in an airtight container, perhaps in a fridge (or not), no longer than 3 months". To maintain freshness. HTH. |
Newbreed2018:Why did you give her antibiotics? Please take her to a Paediatrician. If his/her answers don't satisfy you, take her to an Opthamologist (an eye doctor) not a Optometrist (someone who makes glasses). If you're in Lagos, there are a lot of Opthamologists around and some do free eye clinic on certain days. |
I will post this guide on selecting schools again here www.nefescorner.com/picking-right-pre-school-and-nursery/ If my kids take Calpol, I am alerted. If their food is too much, they tell me. There is a school nurse on standby. If emergency comes, they have their children's Doctor's contacts AND the school also has a hospital close by they are registered with. The teachers are paid well so there is motivation to work and care for my kids well. There are safety standards. You did not carry another human being for 9 months and bring them to the world so that someone who is more concerned about making a profit over the welfare of that human being, will tell you "sorry, something happened to your baby, okay bye bye now". |
kelizosuy:You do not need any medical advise from anybody here. You need to go STRAIGHT to a hospital and then you need to go to a Police Station and the Board of Education in your state. You also need to create a post on all your social media handles RIGHT NOW tagging the creche. Bleach is NOT supposed to be near ANY CHILD. WHAT IF SHE DRANK IT?? And that burn didn't happen in 2 minutes, for it to burn that badly, she was sitting in it for a while without anyone noticing. Does that sound like a school that is run well?? Do not do any home remedy because if it gets infected, the person who told you to treat at home will not help you cry. Please to the Hospital. And then to your Facebook and tag the school. And then to the Police station. I'll help you broadcast it sef. We need to start holding people accountable in Nigeria. Or stories like this will keep happening. They left your child in that state all day and told you "sorry" and you accepted and walked away?? When they were collecting money, was it that easy? You have a moral obligation to name the school, because if anyone of us sends their child in innocence there and that child dies, you knew how bad the place was. |
kinah:Hello ma'am, my DM email isn't working, but please try emailing nefesnappies@gmail.com. Or you could post your questions as comment on the blog: www.nefescorner.comif it's concerning something you read there. Thank you so much! |
Tabbaz:But all those workers are messing up the site and dear God, I don't want some morons burning or destroying it after getting prayers from a "Man of God". Nigerians are very uneducated, even the ones who went to school. So this is possible. Do we have any Professors who can go and at least secure the site? They should carry Army personnel. Is there any NLer on site that can tell us more? |
Why.... Is.. . This... Topic... In... The.... Religious.... Section ![]() MODS!!! This should be in Science and Technology. |
meetmonde:When did Tectonic Plate Shifting happen though, during Prehistoric times?? I think I went to the Museum of Natural History and from what I remember, the continents and some landmasses were still moving during the era after dinosaurs and after the First Ice Age (elephants in Africa and Asia continents, certain other species). How deep was this buried, this is close to the sea (relative distance), so we should be looking at animals that naturally dwell there (including sea-dwelling dinosaurs) or something coastal-dwelling. Why was this preserved as such (the bones look crumbly, dry). Plus it looks like someone else poured cement over it a while ago. These bones aren't fossilized but that jaw is too shaped to be a crocodile. I wish this will be kept in the news. So exciting! |
Hey pushing mamas, have y'all seen this? This is not to scare anyone, but I am a big fan of shining your eye before labour (I suffered due to being blindsided by its realities). Don't be afraid! Knowledge is power. This is why I said "Google your Dr and hospital before registering and feel free to change if you're not happy". I looked up my gynae, infact I mentioned his name to my first OBGYN and she knew him as a specialist. So I was in good hands. My next gynae was a lecturer in his past so I knew he would have a tested team working for him. I dunno why more mums don't do this research. Our Instagram is @nefes_corner, please follow and interact, we've got people who will always be helpful to answer questions www.nefescorner.com

sweetose:It will never be a crime. I'm so sick of Colorism affecting us Nigerians. Our Paediatric Dermatologist is so angry about this issue, he will eat you raw if he notices your baby getting "fairer" artificially (he can tell). Because he has noticed Mothers are now buying "Toning creams" for babies. There's even an Instagram vendor selling it, she puts up reviews/testimonies from mums happily saying "my baby's skin is sooo smooth and naice", translation "baby don dey fair". How CAN you bleach a baby's skin?? And the issue is so endemic: has anyone seen a Baby Competition won by a dark-skinned sweetie before? Always fair or yellow or medium-brown winners. |
FINA4804:Hi, will send an email. I can't access my email you sent the DM to. |
Boldbabe, what a great story! And how they made you get on all fours is what I tell mums to do, pushes the baby into the birth canal: https://nefescorner.com/5-dos-and-donts-for-giving-birth/ Happy new month, pushing mamas! Please if you ever need a list for shopping: https://nefescorner.com/new-baby-lets-go-shopping/ I know it was certainly the popular list here and on our other thread and people still share it. It's always constantly updated to reflect any new info I've gotten. Indian03, look up GwaraGwara dance on Youtube. If you do it and that baby doesn't come out, then there's only one reason: he/she doesn't want to be born in Nigeria so buy ticket to Canada for automatic citizenship once the baby smells abroad air, labour will start! |
Happy New Month eveybody! (There was a time when I used to roll my eyes at this greeting, but I was very young now I'm glad to say it.)August is a special month for me, all our "Mums" are born in August. There will be a lot of awesome posts on the blog and some I cannot post online (because my mum reads my blogs). So please suscribe at www.nefescorner.com Ummm, we have new guest writers (gulp!): a fashion expert, a fitness and dance guru (who is writing about Pole Dancing) and a Sexxpert (God help me ). Please don't read if you're not above 18 ![]() (Yes we have sexxuality counselors in Nigeria, yes I have consulted with her and she is good. No, you don't need to know what she and I discussed! But my sis who also consulted with her got a holiday by herself to Morocco and is now touring the UK and US )

bookholla:They're not. Carter's is an American brand made in Cambodia/Malaysia. Alibaba is a Chinese website supplying the world. Sometimes, certain brands make clothes may be made in the same factory but different quality of fabrics are used. By the time you add branding, shipping and other overheads, the American ends up being more expensive. But the original Carter's will conform to US standards, which also makes it more expensive. So if you're buying them from Alibaba, please know this. Carter's is actually not a very expensively-manufactured brand, they just spend the most on advertising. |
For the mums wondering what to feed their kids www.nefescorner.com/6-food-hacks-for-your-baby-and-toddler/ I did not give cereal to my baby until 7 months because he ate what the toddler ate. Most mums of multiple kids will tell you the same happened to them. No point in giving bland cereals and purees then expecting a miracle to happen at 12 months and the child will accept Ogbono. HTH |
Bloomingbud:That's a bacterial rash, sudocream won't treat it. Antibacterial ointment will. That rash is caused by Atopic Dermatitis and it was EVERYWHERE, spreading amongst babies for at least 4 months. One of my Drs is supposed to do a blog post about it. Can I ask a favour from you? Secondly, stop the pap for 2 weeks. See what happens. |
So, concerning Dano Milk.... Dano states on their website that they are not for children under the age of 2. Which is weird, because Full Cream milk is supposed to be acceptable for children 12 months and older. Unless, Dano is saying Full Cream =/= Whole Milk. Background: The whole idea of Follow-up milk started from its manufacturers, who were prohibited by laws of better continents like EU and USA, not to sell or advertise milk to parents of newborns (WHO had announced that Breastfeeding was best and they were trying to comply). So milk makers then packaged whole milk as follow-up milk and THEN sold it beside their formula brand in stores. So that a tired, stressed out parent would see follow-up milk from Brand A, certified by all the certifying agencies and see formula (Which states in VERY FINE PRINT on the can "Breastfeeding is best" ) beside it and think "if their adult milk is good enough for toddlers, same with formula". It's a marketing strategy. Howeverrrrrrr, Naija is the opposite: people here LIKE cutting corners. So at one point, Golden Morn was being fed to 6 month old babies (it's not well-digested). And when Nestle announced that parents should stop, Nigerian mentality kicked in and people said Nestle was only saying that to force "wise pipu" to buy their more-expensive, made-for-babies cereals. Now, since Nestle didn't want to get sued by anyone whose child eats Golden Morn, they slapped a disclaimer: "Not an Infant Cereal" on their packets. Same with Dano: they have stated it on their website and Facebook. They do NOT want "wise pipu" to feed their 7 month old powdered whole cream cow's milk, then hit them with a class action suit in court. Peak already has their follow-up milk product (Peak 123), it has added sugar (that's why some Drs don't like it). So if you are gonna keep giving your child Dano Full Cream, do it knowing that if anything happens, their asses are covered legally. Is there anything wrong with Full Cream Milk for a child 12 months and older? Fvck no. Unless you're one of those parents who are Vegans and do not give ANY animal products to children (I have 2 friends like that, one only drank milk in uni and isn't giving her child any). You're welcome. ![]() www.nefescorner.com |
My daughter once put some cream in her mouth and I called the Dr, worried. He told me to please relax and get off the phone quickly: a 3 year old boy had drank Sniper, his mum had given him milk and everything had become a catastrophe and all the Drs were running around trying to minimise the damage to his lungs. I only pray that child made it.... Thats was why we intereviewed a Dr for how you should handle common accidents in the house: https://nefescorner.com/emergency-safety-tips-for-your-little-one/ Please share. Don't keep this info to yourselves. Please save a child. Thanks Btw, that patient's mum got the idea of milk from a Whatsapp broadcast (I've seen it before). Please credit the blog o www.nefescorner.com or my children will come and scatter your house for you ![]() |
Hello. Please you want to read this, as this is important and part of our #MonthOfMedicine. And please share, because even I didn't know the last important info here.
