harmbhrosz:Lai lai, she won't let WW III happen. Every smart US president has learnt that sending troops where not wanted leads to an increase in domestic insecurity. And the US cannot afford a war, especially if other countries refuse to back them. And if she's dirty, so was Bush 1 and 2, Reagan, Nixon, Clinton 1 etc. I don't expect a saint to be my leader when I'm not fighting a religious war, I expect a pragmatic battle-tested leader. Which is why I dislike most Nigerian politicians: they resort to prayers and church attendance every election season and people gullibly fall for it. Africa is being bought by the Chinese looking for arable land to feed their nation in the future, shey you know? So one day, you may be working on a Chinese farm, growing food for them. All these their awoof construction handouts is not for free... |
harmbhrosz:He has done enough damage. His supporters are angry, poor and not too educated but have access to guns. The current Republican party panders to them and fights meaningful changes to American policies. The US is dying a death by a thousand cuts. Russia is spoiling for a fight (to soothe their ego) and looking to expand their territory. China is churning out cheap goods in the millions because they must keep their huge population employed or forment trouble in their homeland. So they will fight any policy any Republican tries to pass, in order to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US, by dumping even cheaper goods and cheaply paid workers on the global market. Brexit is going to keep punishing a growing racist, getting-broke Britain. France and growing Islamophobia and Syria and whatever madness. Saudi Arabia getting broke and looking to divert the restlessness at home by subtly messing with their neighbours. Iran jittery. North Korea chest-thumping by testing missile launches and developing nuclear capabilities. South Korea worried that a President Trump means no protection from the North (he wants to pull the US out of NATO). Mexico worried about a possibility of a President Trump. And not one single country in Africa with their head screwed on right. I don't know about you, but World War III is inches away and we have to do our best to avoid it, because it will be a nuclear war. The same restlessness, same fanatic ideologies, same global financial meltdowns on several fronts led to WW II. The sad thing is that his followers are complaining that their lives are hard, but the Republican party put them there for the past 30 years. Republicans want to cut benefits to the poor, spend more on Military and less on Education, give lower taxes to the rich and huge corporations and tell the poor that if the rich have more money, they will spend it on the poor. Has that ever worked in any country, Nope! Just look at Nigeria as example of why rich people should pay more taxes. The average American worker is so screwed compared to his colleagues in other countries, it is too expensive to give birth, their companies keep slashing their HMO coverage, they work longer hours and earn less, they are like Nigerian bank workers almost. |

chuose:Buhari also took pictures of himself in church. Care to go and preach publicly the Christian Gospel in Kano today since you feel confident that every photo op a politician puts up means the truth?? ![]() |
harmbhrosz:He is going to make Immigration harder. So your kinsmen who like marrying fat white girls to get kpalli in 3 years, no more! Then all the so-called "Asylum seekers", scratch that too. Then more laws to tax lower-income people and leave the rich, how many Nigerians do you think are balling in the US, their taxes will rise so that Western Union dollars you guys are using to flex, down the drain. Higher Medical care bills, so every "please donate to support John or Peter to fly to America for treatment", that money will increase. His policies don't benefit lower class people or minorities. But I fully expect Nigerians to support him, I mean, have you seen the people we vote into government ![]() |
mitchyy:I really think you should stop punishing this boy and give him proper amala with ewedu soup, pomo, catfish and brokoto. Pintoxx, did you give a pic of her outfit to the baker? Pristine, pretty as always. Dexterush, IS THAT BEER?!!! |
I think Kids Beach Garden is like an envrionmental club for kids, they do beach clean up, plant trees and all sorts. It has some play stuff there too. Awww, well if I hear about any other events for kids, I'll let you guys know. |
Good morning mamas! It's that time of the week: #Threadbabies! Let's see those toothy grins, 2 strands of hair you are managing on their scalps and cute smiles ![]() |
hotmomma:If you can use one of those mail-order sites (like MallForAfrica) or some people who buy from the US here, Amazon.com, Walmart.com and a lot of places sell Dermoplast. Or try the witch hazel-cold water-lavender oil mix. |
luscioustrish:Welcome to the thread. Please feel free to ask questions and always use the Searcg function, so you can see what others have said in the past concerning your question. If you don't get a reply, it's either people don't know the answer or missed the question, so re-ask. There are a lot of topics that have been covered that may not even occur to you yet (health, nutrition and finance, education), so in your downtime, do a search for them so you don' t miss out. Fridays is #Threadbabies so please have a pic of your LO. And congratulations on his birth ![]() |
VICKYCHI6:Oh. My. God. Ha! Don't worry, in some years, you will start seeing the effects. Relaxers can melt plastic and no doctor will allow a child of theirs under the age of 12 use it and our dermatologist insists that if we as adults are to use relaxers, not more than 4 times a year, he will yell at me if I dare use it on my LO...and you have been using it since a year plus. Oh my God... Anyhoo, all the best, you're her mum. Final decision lies with you. ![]() |
sugah:Huggies is actually some dimes cheaper than Pampers in the US. So why exactly is it a status symbol, since they are the same price? |
Hey guys. It's for kids and admission is free. There will be live freshwater turtles that day for the kids to see and they will learn about sea turtles as well (who don't come on land except to lay eggs). cc ifyalways and thorpido, lewstherin, Dyt, whom else has kids...
|
Hey mamas, thought to share: a foundation called Wildlife Africa is doing an exhibition on sea turtles this saturday morning, close to Elegushi Beach. Admission is free. It is targeting kids and will teach them about sea turtles. There will be no sea turtles there that day, because they live in the sea and only come out to lay eggs but there will be live freshwater turtles that the kids can see. We don't really have zoos and aquariums, so this is a good way to learn something. I've only seen baby freshwater turtles in Nigeria and one big tortoise, I wish we had more fun educational stuff for kids here...

iyawoEmma:Stop every single thing you are doing. It is aggravating it, especially the Agnesia powder (powder is drying, zinc oxide is a barrier ingredient and Eczema is caused by excessive dryness). Switch to Dove Pure and Sensitive bar soap or Sebamed baby body wash, try Aveeno oatmeal colloidal lotion and go to a Dermatologist. Do not use Aqueous cream, it will aggravate the eczema even worse. (there are 2 dermatologists I know, handles adults and kids). |
authe911:Hold onto them. We have a collection and I have a feeling that someone is planning a proper museum in Nigeria soon ![]() |
computer0810:I'm not from the East and western Governors are equally as foolish. All a basket of Deplorables! |
Biafran Pound and Biafran shilling. (it is part of Nigerian history, let us learn from the mistakes of the past. Also, before my post starts a tribal war amongst the jobless, I am not an IPOB supporter, just a follower of History).

WRONG WRONG WRONG!! Igbos are drawn to importing auto spare parts and Innoson built himself on assembling autovehicles here in Nigeria. The Governor should be encouraging vocational Mechanical skills, which can lead to a stronger manufacturing base, where an Automobile company looking for skilled workers and affordable means of doing business, will relocate to Abia state, making it an industrial hub. And vocational engineering skills (Engineering Technicians) can be adapted to Phone Construction and Repair, Machinery manufacture and repair and servicing and even freaking Aeroplane Manufacture and Repair. All which leads to a higher standard of living. Not bricklayers who earn slightly above minimum wage. And people are praising this?!! God! When will we get it right in this country?? |
What kind of stvpidity is this ![]() ![]() ![]() |
modath:I knew they moved (had friends working for them since uni days so it was a blow to lose that income). We are fine and missionaring again. But every day I want to run from this country...How is LBJ and family? |
Allow me to paint a clear example of what is going on: On the right is Sabudana/Sago, a food native to the entire Asian subcontinent and South American countries. On the left is Tapioca, made in Nigeria. Both are the same food products and are made from Cassava. Yes, the exact same product as Garri. What is different is the PROCESSING: one is fried into grains and another is made into white balls. Now, let us state a fact: outside India, the largest number of Indians reside in SA and other African countries. It's a more recent event that they are emigrating to the UK and now, the US. So, the owner of the Tapioca plant in Nigeria may think to himself: "since there is a huge market for this product here in Africa, why not get the machinery required to turn my flakes into balls? I can then export to SA, sell in Nigeria and Gambia and any other African country with a sizeable Asian population. If I cannot get enough Cassava cheaply, I will import sorted cassava so it is easier for me to produce sabudana balls". So he applies for forex to buy the machinery, but FG tells him to source on black market and don't quite do ANYTHING to fix Nigeria' myriad infrastructural problems but tell the populace to be loyal and buy made-in-naija with dwindling resources and tell them to be more patriotic and prayerful. That, coupled with extremely high power costs and lack of ease in doing business in Nigeria, reduces his profits. Meanwhile, in India, they have everything cheaply available and all they require is that he pays taxes and hire Indians (because it generates employment and taxes from paid workers). What will you advise him to do? My mum advised against Buhari because she said he had no plans and all he would do was chase Corruption cases fruitlessly for 4 years, whilst the country ground to a halt. I didn't believe her. If Buhari was serious, everyone could see Crude oil prices falling before he got there, everyone could see we had no manufacturing in Nigeria, everyone knew we had no working refineries. The week after he was sworn in, he should have been calling heads of every industry to come meet him with proposals and put together an economic team of 100 from different industries and told Kachikwu to fix at least one refinery even if it meant executing someone publicly. Erisco's hands are probably not clean (I'm pretty sure he had round-tripped before and done a lot of shady deals like many other Nigerian businessmen), but what about the next fellow who may honestly have a need for forex to manufacture and export? We must sanitise our manufacturing industry and make sure those who need help, get help.

OlujobaSamuel:Lol, you think you're tellingbme something I don't know? Bye bye. |
OlujobaSamuel:Give me numbers and figures and not what you see in the market. There is not enough being grown and it is NOT stored properly so it goes bad and is left to waste. Give me numbers and figures because I have seen these documents and spoken to some of these people trying to get involved in this industry. Have you been to a cocoa farm before? Do you seriously think anywhere in Ondo and other western states is growing enough quantities to supply the industry?? We are not short of strawberries and Apples, nobody wants a farm in Jos that is susceptible to inexplicable tribal and religious violence at any random time. Even for indigenous companies to sell locally made fertiliser in Nigeria is a problem. |
Alajiki:Stop with the insults. Because he does import tomato paste, up North no-one is processing in large enough quantities to meet local demand for tomato paste. And yes, I am 100% sure of that. A lot of businessmen round-trip but every agro-business I know in Nigeria that is not flour (Cassava, plantain etc) or palm oil or meat, imports raw goods. Chivita imports concentrate, Procter & Gamble import raw supplies to their plant in Ibadan (I'm sure they have moved to Ghana because their overheads were killing them). So does Nestle and so many other companies. Others do what he is threatening to do and produce in China and Turkey for Nigerian market (Pampers and co). If they process the tomatoes in Nigeria there will be a shortage as Nigerian farmers don't do mechanised farming and storage in large quantities to meet demand. And half the farm workers are in states with ethno-tribal problems (Benue and Plateau for example). There are so many companies who switched from local manufacture to imported finished products because of all these issues. That means more job losses locally. You are only speaking from what you can see and not from another perspective. |
modath:Nope, this is Buhari's fault: he has not done anything to show non-partisanship. If he had enforced the ban on food items and also been publicly seen wooing businesses that manufacture in Nigeria (companies like Innoson, Chi and Erisco, Dangote), it would be clear what he was doing and tribalists will have had a harder time screaming "marginalisation" when people are getting jobs in those plants and laws are being passed to make business favourable to them. You can't just talk, your actions must match. |
emtebe:When did she hand the account over to you, do you mind me asking? |
Sardongarigan, A grown man of 28 years, with an income and resource to Birth Control, gets an 18 year old girl pregnant and it is not his fault? The Law states that he is liable because condoms are freely available and he chose not to use one for whatever reason (Go to Igbosere and ask for a lawyer). Entrapment occurs if the female in question told him a lie ("I am unable to get pregnant due to whatever medical reason" ). If she didn't and he chose not to use a condom (which costs N50), he is at fault and is now trying to run from responsibility. You cannot tell a female "don't get pregnant" without making sure that on your part you do all that is medically necessary to avoid the pregnancy (birth control) and then claim she is at fault. Even the NPF will support this. Go to his office and inform his boss of his behaviour, including the fact that he insulted her mother who tried to make him own his responsibility. Go to his church and inform his pastor, the choir master and the local gossip of his tale of irresponsibility. Go to where he lives and inform his neighbours that their daughters are in danger and he is a wolf pretending to be a sheep. Embarass him till he learns how to be responsible. Or take the law into your hands and wake up tomorrow and show up at his house before he goes to work, with a couple of well-armed boys at your side and ask him directly for funds to pay for his "previous enjoyment". Take her to the doctor and ascertain the health of the foetus. And let that irresponsible goat pay for her medical bills. He owes the foetus, and not the mother, that. If she is having the baby, he pays for antenatal and childcare costs. If she is having an abortion, he pays for it. If you wish him to escape justice, by all means ignore what I have written (he is not the first man trying such and was shocked that he met strong resistance to his irresponsibility and had to reconsider. People get away with murder because you allow them). Whatever happens now is up to you. For anyone who finds themself in this predicament and are legal residents of Lagos state, please read: http://www.legalnaija.com/2014/06/lagos-law-against-child-abandonment.html?m=1 I believe Abortion is illegal, so if you are taking him to court, let it be on record that he ASKED your client to do an illegal procedure. it was passed since 2011. Go to Igbosere High Court, there are plenty lawyers always hanging around. You need a lawyer who will know the right judge or magistrate to drop your case in front of. And yes, they have ways of enforcing this law (people will never publicly confess that they were in court and lost). A lot of people don't realise that we have laws that work and are enforceable in Nigeria. |
tatacherie:It looks exactly like Netting but it is soft and drapey, net stands, is stiff and scratchy to the skin. So a lot of fabric sellers will try and pass Netting off as Tulle, feel the fabric if it is stiff it is netting and not Tulle. HTH |
Why are you taking a girl who is not serious about you, serious? More importantly, how much money have you gotten from NL boys, masquerading as a chick, in the past ![]() |
ifyalways:You're a baller na. Abeg lemme come and work for you, I like travel. |
