It's like a festival. Can't remember well but it's mostly annually. They gather around at a designated place. Sometimes the palace of the Emir and lots of spinsters are always available for marriage at that time.

You played the ethnic card- riff-raffs and illiterate ex-militants such as Tompolo, Asari Dokubo (where is that toad who said that Buhari will never be President?), Boyloaf, and others, including senile old man, Edwin Clarke, issued threats to other Nigerians in a reckless manner and you did not caution them. When Obasanjo brought this ethic bias up with you, you insulted him to no end.

4. You ran a completely corrupt government to the extent that billions of raw, mint-cash currencies (Naira and US dollars) were being carted away from the CBN! For instance, I attended the Akintola Williams Foundation Lecture at the MUSON Centre a few years ago and a former Deputy Governor of the CBN and a Minister under your government, Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, alleged that he was shocked to have confirmed that under your government, the CBN became the unofficial vault of PDP politicians and some other riff-raffs.

5. You played the religious card as though you were the first Christian President or Head of State of Nigeria. The hitherto-respected and celebrated Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the umbrella body of ALL Christians and the Body of Christ in Nigeria, became your toy. You so much bastardized CAN that its President, Ayo Oritsejafor, easily became the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the PDP and your government! Sacrilege! Other Christians who felt that their association, once led by vibrant Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie and Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, very well-respected Church leaders, was being used in so brazenly partisan manner, and other Nigerians, disliked you for this, and voted against you.

6. During the campaigns, in the North, your equally docile and completely useless Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo, told a campaign audience that they should not vote APC because their VP candidate, Yemi Osinbajo, was a Pastor and that he will force them into Christianity! Meanwhile, Jonathan’s people and campaign organization, told voters in the South-East and South-South that the same APC was an Islamic, Boko Haram party!

In summary, Obama, PDP Governors, Northern leaders, and the plethora of people and organizations you blamed in your useless book did not cause your political downfall, YOU and YOUR UNCOUTH WIFE nailed your cross!

You turned 61 today, happy birthday former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, a gentle but very WEAK man and leader!

I don't think it is a must we have to transmit gas to Kaduna kano and abuja like NNPC is currently doing for some new power plants. We can build the plants close to the source of gas and transmit the power to the north or even Niger republic like we do for Benin republic and Togo.
Transmission line are more reliably policed by SCADA around the world and I wonder what is so special about transmission here.

We can't use an isolated case here to judge the outcome of such process. A lot is special about transmission in Nigeria. A singular 245kv tower would cost average 6million naira . Now imagine you needing 1000 of those to wheel power around from Warri to Abuja at 2 per km. This does not even include cost of the cables let alone workmanship. Clearing of forests. Areas needing reinforced bases , right of way, compensation for demolished buildings on the right of way.

All these costs money. Better to decentralize it for more efficiency. We should be exploring more natural gas and even cleaner coal.

Nigeria spent $16 Bn on power. That could have given us over 75,000 MW of power but see where we are today. Battling with 5,000 MW at exurbitant rate of N30-50/Kwh. That alone has killed manufacturing because your rivals in Asia get power supply for a fraction of that, sometimes as low as N6/KWh.

You know why we aren't taken serious?

Because the citizens aren't informed and keep on making wild statements. Is it only Power stations you would build? How are you going to wheel the electricity? I can assure you only Nepa poles and transformers for the whole of Surulere would cost $5m.

When you argue things out do it with more background facts. Till today, we lose power because our 331kv transmission lines are not optimal and can't carry large swats of electricity. Also the way things are centralized makes overhauling a big issue. You generate light in Shiroro ship it down to Osogbo for stepping down before you send it to the power grid? Like who designed such shitty plans? Also most equipment were moribund. Old transformers, old service points, old and outdated load sharing centres. Those are where the fund for power went to and as much as people criticize Obasanjo he had an idea and roadmap. Not one single investment had been done in the power sector in 30years before he came. Are you still suprised that 11years after he left power we still have not made much improvement?

Till today, there are still new NIPP equipments that are been used, new NIPP centres that are just been completed.. This doesn't mean that there wasn't corruption involved but CU's case is an isolated issue. I am sure they didn't have to factor in distribution to their costs. So please calm down.

I can't take a boat ride but out of necessity I took a ride in Sierra Leone some weeks back and the safety and organization was top notch. I didn't even know I was on water. They were on time, had life vest under each sit, the ride was smooth not withstanding that the water was a bit turbulent.

They had emergency procedures and so on and the irony is the company running it is owned by a Nigerian.

That's a country that just ended a war a decade or so back. I can never enter a boat ride in Lagos. I can't imagine going on such suicide ride. I doubt they are regulated and l am more scared because of the Nigerian character that seems to take safety for granted. In case of emergencies I doubt there's a single back up plan to save you and the most cringeworthy thing is, most don't even give you functional life vests.

So what is special about this? Not like the fire cut off the road .

Yes. Citizen by birth should be the norm but the loopholes is that people now go to the US while pregnant on a visitor Visa get there and give birth. Their main aims aren't to visit or get the best medical help but just to guarantee the child US citizenship.

It's very open to abuse and should be made more stringent. Someone who is not contributing to the economy of a country should not benefit from the works of millions of others who have laboured to build such countries up.

If you want citizenship by birth it should be attached to the fact that the parents have been residents of the US for at least 2 to 5 years. This would discourage people going there just to seek citizenship for their kids.
