Swissheart:Lol...and how much is a room with Fibre in Lekki or environs? 90 to 190k per month. I am sure she doesn't even receive that as salary in a month. |
kingsmaila:You should try and stop. Looking at it from the logic aspects even shows the house always wins. I.e betting companies. Also it is very addictive as the human mind loves been hopeful and you would continuously think you can win back your lost funds but in the end lose more by taking more risks. Also you stop being hardworking and always day dreaming about Money you can't win. |
safarigirl:Kids would be kids.. Best bet is to remove such. We have zero safety standards in the country. Even overseas where you have such , these things do occur . " You would be surprised that pool deaths amongst young kids is one of the highest causes of mortality. "Children ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates. In 2014, among children 1 to 4 years old who died from an unintentional injury, one-third died from drowning. Among children ages 1 to 4, most drownings occur in home swimming pools." That's from CDC and references US data. That we don't have lots of houses with pools in Nigeria makes it very rear but with a lot of rich people seeking such comforts expect much more occurrence due to zero safety rules and oversight. Drowning is easy, doesn't take more than a few seconds and funny thing is you would not even notice till the kid is minutes dead because they go in a whimper.." Heartbreaking but I guess most new generation parents should look at things in the home that are dangerous to the well being of their kids and should endeavor to remove them. Indoor swimming pool in your living room where you have a 1 yr old kid is like inviting trouble. Once they start to crawl or walk they feel they are free and can explore the world. They go missing at a seconds notice. We all have experienced those young kids trying to grab something or climb tables and what not. They are just inquisitive and parents need to do more to safe guard them. |

Viralkid:You see what liviing in Ignorance does to people. You are the one living in mental slavery. So cleaning up after yourself is a sign of slavery? No wonder everywhere is dirty and public places look like dumpsites in Nigeria. Public toilets and restrooms are an eyesore. For your info, the Japanese fans also do this. They even make sure they bring along bags to take the trash to the nearest dustbins. That's common sense. |
ba7man:How much is a single Marco Polo bus? N150m . Multiply is by 5000. You get 750 (nine zeros) i.e 750bn. If N30billion is the quote are they telling us the cost of each of the 5000 Marco Polo buses is N6M? |
5000 Marco buses at 150Million naira each is 750 billion naira. We have not even added the cost of wear and tear on roads associated with these. Repair costs and other miscellaneous. That's 1 trillion naira. That would construct 5 new world class rail lines that would criss cross the length and breadth of Lagos but alas we have fools as administrators. Except if the number is just bogus, there's no way someone with his head screwed in right would think this is the right way to go for public transportation. 5000 buses? |
Eid Mubarak. |
Kophschmerzen:Exactly.....Who wants to come relax in a country with all the negativity? You can ignore most here. They are just religious and blinded to realities. Just like US evangelicals. Even if Trump cheats on his wife while pregnant and pays off an hooker they would not blink an eye as long as he calls God's name and is hard on LGBT rights or some hogwash. Also there's a record number of international students switching to Canadian schools for further studies because of his immigration rhetorics. Funny thing is the funds these students bring into such US Universities are what subsidies it for the local student populations most times. But hey as long as we shout MAGA. Everything is fine. |
Postfut:How? There's nothing like "needs more" in a trade business. It's a service not charity. Canada supplies 44% of US oil imports. imagine the disruptions that would cause us businesses alone if Canada should hike fees on just that. Recently due to Trump's stupidity there has been an hike in tarrif applied to Canadian steel that has caused enough volatility and uncertainty in that sector in the US. No one gets a quote that is 30days valid anymore. You know what uncertainty does to businesses? They can't plan effectively. No one wins a trade war. You just hurt your citizens because the cost of tarrifs would always be passed on the end user. so maybe Supporters of Trump can drill it into his head that this is not a personal business transaction where you can arm twist others into submission. Adaowerri111:How if I may ask? name one thing he has done to make the life of an average citizen better ? |
Too many gullible people in this country. God why can you do this to the country? See literate but gullible people exposing their ignorance unabated. A crime does not have a single evidence. Littany of evidences that connects the dots are what makes a case for or against an individual. That's why some cases are dismissed for want of evidence. This can be submitted as an exhibit in a case against Saraki. He can be labeled as an assesory to an armed robbery event. 1. They have the accused confession stating he was their benefactor. 2. They have material gifts linking the accused to Saraki. 3. And now they have another evidence which may prove they were close associates of Saraki. it is his daughters wedding and I am sure a distant or non related person can't be that close to the Senate president and wife during such an occasion. It is now left for Saraki to seek an alibi or explain why he thinks the above are not related to him and all those are just mere coincidence. But morons that litter this site would not state any logical explanations on why they think he should not be questioned except that we should believe he is not capable of such and should be left alone. Boko Haram is an offshoot of a politician arming youths for elections. We can see how that turned out to be Also when did trust become a stand you can lay on in the defense of a criminal case? I honestly want to believe what I read online is not a true representation of Nigerians else I think we are just way beyond any redemtion at this point. |
Unluckrees:Yeah...You seem to have eye defects. How do they intervene when the match official came over to Karius and he signalled that he was elbowed on the head and still yet the Referee looked at his time and waved on. FIFA/UEFA rules clearly state referees should stop the game if there's a blow to the head of player. It is standard operating procedure. We all know how the night would have turned out. Shame other players wanted to show their skills and one player was just out to injure others.. We all wonder why football officiating is bad. This is one of it. No reprimands for referees . No reveiws. Other sports like NFL and Hockey have deployed Video assistants to great successes but in Football it is still a shitshow. They constantly review referees actions and take necessary measures but still yet nothing happens to referees in football for getting the game wrong. Concussions aren't things you play with . |
LordKO:Even his English seems like that of a JS1 student. Erroneous lies and misinformation is what he laid out. Can you imagine him saying the company didn't do projections. When even the common man on the street knows we waste hundreds of thousands tonnes of tomato yearly due to non existent preservation methods when there is a glut. The world has always been filled with ignorant people but instead of people to better their lives by reading wide they spout nonsense online and expouse their ignorance and thanks once again illiterate nairaland mods for pushing misinformation out to the world. Yours service is duly noted. |
rusher14:Kindly ignore that guy. They always bury their heads in the mud and always expect government to do everything. You can't blame him. Most are educated illiterates who just know how to read and write. Like the company does not know there's a major increase in the consumption of the drugs and just kept churning out drugs they knew was a controled substance? |
jaybee:Like seriously? No wonder you guys have bad leaders. So having numerous adjectives attributed to you is what makes a good candidate? Since you seem focused along that line of thought. You should be the one to provide us verifiable examples where Markarfi has adhered to all most of the characters listed above. After all you are the ones touting him up and down. You are the one with a candidate. I can't recall listing or stating my support for any candidate. You don't even need to bother trying because his credentials can't even win him votes outside his region let alone win a major landslide against an incumbent government even considering their abysmal performance. It's less than 8 months to elections and I am sure less than 5% of people across the country even know him. |
TonyeBarcanista:There's no point responding to jobbers like you. And how many hours did it take Ambode to mobilize security to quash the crisis? Since you are ignorant and wouldn't avail yourself the opportunities presented by the internet. Crisis started in February and didn't abate till May 2000. Same crisis casued by the introduction of Sharia by your inept Governor in a multicultural and multi religious State which was dangerously fragmented. You would now run along. |
When people don't read they tend to forget history easily. Anyone is free to contest but I laugh out loud at people touting Markarfi Same guy that was Governor in Kaduna and was never home because of one health challenge or the other. He was widely known as the "missing governor" to the point that he wasn't around all through the religious and sectional crisis that rocked Kaduna in the early 2000s that led to the death of thousands of people and destruction of properties. Not a single response from the state govt because the governor was MIA. Had to take OBJ deploying soldiers after weeks when thousands had already been killed and maimed before things normalized a bit. Till today Kaduna which used to be that shinning light of industrialization and multi ethnicity has not still yet recovered from that impunity as most who were the engine to the economy were outsiders and 90% never ever returned. I don't need to give links or stats as i was a personal witness to such. I may have been young but the measles i suffered during that crisis without any health facilities available and images of our neighbour that was bitten by scorpion in 44 army barracks because they were turned to refugees sleeping on the cold hard road inside that barracks in their own country is still etched in my mind. Nigerians indeed deserves the kind of leaders they get. We truly have a thousand years to grow but is the world willing to wait for us to come to our senses? |
sbola:I wouldn't be siding with Midas or anything. Just stating fact about what I have experienced and if you read my last paragraph there's an admonishing for Midas there. Your experience maybe different from mine. by the way we like to deceive ourselves here in Nigeria. I sympathize with your friend but anyone who is a business man in this day and age and can't buy insurance for goods worth 4.5 million naira needs a reality check on how they run their businesses. For goods worth a million naira insurance companies would take about 35,000 to 60k as insurance cover. If you can't afford such then I am lost for words on what your risk management skills are. Even USPS requires you have insurance cover for any luxury goods they are handling heck even things with any sort of value you are required to insure them when shipping. It can get nasty with damaged goods or lost items except those goods are expendable to you. This does not deduct from the fact that if you feel hard done by Midas you should kindly follow legal recourse available to recoup your money and post on social media if it would hasten the process and prevent others from falling victim. Good luck |
Sterope:I am 100% sure that 90% of those listed are not the robbers. The Calibre of guns , dexterity and lack of passion showed clearly those who carried out the crime were not from around the area. They not only shot security men but civilians also with reckless abandon. For any crime there's always a motive and even the most heinous and hardened criminals know they don't want the public against them on top of security personnel looking for them especially if you live in the community. It even beggars belief that a bank robber who just robbed 5 banks worth at least 100million each would concern himself with 20k chinko techno phones of their victims. Like seriously? Let's even play the scenario in our heads. I am robbing a bank and I have dead people left and right. After taking millions what pops in my head is to pick phones and sim cards. Like WTH. Do these people think we are so dumb in this country that a police report would say such live?. Anyone who believes the cock and bull story needs to be flogged in a market square. I am awed that journalists also sat down and wrote this rubbish down. We don't challenge the narrative and obvious lies of these useless police force that's why they can call a press conference and have the audacity to spew such rubbish. |
This maybe a bit long but apologies. As much as one may tend to listen to the accuser here I believe no one should reach a judgement till maybe all facts have been layed bare. Anyone who has worked customer service would know it can be an horrifying and soul crushing line to work in. It gets to a point you get desensitized to customer complaints. However, i have used Midas for 5 years now and I have introduced nothing less than 3 people. Till date I have had items ranging from a gear box to the smallest camera cover shipped using them. In those 5 years, not once have I ever had an item stolen from my pack. Just last week I had an item that was poked and I wasn't present to pick it but just instructed them to help confirm and I got all the items exactly the way it was bought and these weren't cheap if you think I was lucky. Total sum was in a few hundreds of thousands of naira. The only complaint I have against them is the length of time it takes to get them to ship and I honestly can't blame them too much. For the fees they charge, they seem to be punching above their weight. I sometimes wonder how they have stayed afloat. If you want faster services, the fees are just cut throat and unreasonable. This is not to launder their image or whatever but I would advise the op to try and do a thorough job. You cannot believe the word of your seller alone. You might want to give the seller the benefit of doubt but you may want to press them a bit and you might be surprised the issue MIGHT be from them although the delivery note seems to have absolved them but getting to the root should be your sole aim not laying accusations before reaching conclusions. Infact just Google online and see thousands of stories about postmen stealing items. maybe you need to rethink it why postal fraud is a federal offence in the US. It is because it happens. Also, I think for any item you are sending, your seller pays an insurance for It especially if it is luxury goods. Except he declared them as ordinary items which means he is underquoting their value to get away with shipping costs which to me raises a red flag about the seller but all these could have been avoided if only the Midas employee had done their job of counting well. I think Midas should see this as a feedback. I laugh when employers don't take the training, provision of necessary tools and welfare of their employees well. I have heard of mismatched packages before which a little patience might prevent. This may not have been related to that but it all points to one fact. The damge an incompetent employee whether by lack of training or lack of needed tools would cost the firm in the long run would outweigh what ever extra you would pay for quality training, good work environment and good pay. This might even be the time you should go full CRM. Mails alone should not be the way to keep records. There are tools out there to scale things up and help the business avaoid costly mistakes. |
queenhecate:Eyah sorry. not been here. Sorted this out or you still need help? you can have sent me a pm na. |
Cruxifizio:We bought Van Dijk not only for his defensive work rate but because of aerial duels and the guy is a behemoth when it comes to that. They had 8 corner kicks and if this was the Liverpool without him we would have conceded at least two . Also Liverpool needed someone who could organize a defence and shout his lungs out. Van Dijk does that. Defending is not a one person thing and has lived up to the expectation of whatever WE BOUGHT HIM FOR. Also Klopp has stated we didn't buy him for this season , we bought him for next season. This season is like a learning course for him. There's nothing wrong buying big money players if they are the exact thing you need and they would fit in perfectly in your team. |
This is more of interswitch enabling fraud. We still have a long way to go as regards cyber secutiy. Someone's 19k was remotely transferred from his account using a an Online Channel and till today he didn't receive an OTP confirmation or anything. Searching through the logs showed it was an international transaction and Interswitch failed to require authorization for the transactions |
deomelo:abi help me ask am o. He said Danogte is scared of competition. I stated the numerous countries the guy operates in. He has not stated a single reason why we should join the free trade deal except the usual rhetoric. Egypt and other northern African countries are there because of the gas deals they can cut. Let me see how you want to push your products into those Northern African countries. Even the Common external tarrifs as stated by ECOWAS that has been existing for decades now we are still having challenges implementing that let alone going on to sign another trade deal without a better understanding of what the potentials or downsides it portends. |
omohayek:Lol....I actually laughed at your delusion. Typical Half baked Nigerian graduate. Oya...go on and spit all the theories that you crammed in Uni I don't even need to hear you say anything. Someone who believes knowledge of finance and economics is achieved by sitting a dimly class with their lecturers spewing 1970s theories about oil boom and whatnot when their peers are looking at futuristic economies where labour is replaced by sentient robots. You may have studied it. But I do apply it daily. I do economics and personal finance in my day to day activities. Your numerous havard trained economists with their big grammar, how many Nigerians did they pull out of poverty with their numerous theories while they held sway? We don't need your type holding office. Big problems like Nigeria needs indigenous, simple and common sense solutions. Kindly counter my initial comments with facts and not the usual personal attacks. Good day |
omohayek:We have so many arm chair economists in the house. Join a free trade without knowing the frameworks? And Nigeria did not decline to join , the government just asked for a stay of execution so they could contact our local chanbers of commerce. As much as the African free trade agreement looks cool on paper. I would rather argue against it. 30 out of 53 countries are French speaking countries and maybe you aren't aware those countries are more like colonies of France. Take a walk through Cote di voire and other African countries and see how their economies are dominated by France. You would be hard pressed to find a single locally made product. Agree to that free trade and you would see the influx of those products into Nigeria thereby killing local manufacturers. Even till today we are still battling smugglers of basic things like Jago milk from ivory coast and what not which we have more than enough manufacturers producing same products locally. We have the population and should dictate trade agreements not the other way round. You guys should learn to criticize and when to atleast keep mum. Reading through your post reeks of misinformation. Same dangote that has businesses in Mauritius, just opened a cement factory in Congo and has numerous businesses in Ethiopia and other African countries? Other African countries need us more than we need them so we should dictate the rules and framework and should negotiate from a more leveraged position. |
This thread is an irony. Look at the Nigerians that should cower and cover their faces in shame slinging muds up and down. So NIgeria was an eldorado before this government came in? Such hypocrisy. Same idiots that ran the country into the ground still have the audacity to be spewing rubbish. Same Twitter senator that's owing staff salaries is talking. As much as the current government does not have a clue as to moving things forward. His quotes is pointedly speaking to the average NIgerian but all would be lost in our usual lack of decorum, sensationalism and politicisation of everything. He stated human capital and that Nigeria would only succeed if a greater amount of Nigerians are successful which all boils down to the family units. What is the average Nigerian family like? What is the constraints making them unsuccessful? Government may factor in largely but it goes much more deeper than that. Or aren't we the same people who would give birth to ten kids and give them poor education because of scarce resources? Or aren't we the same Nigerian family unit that would prorities "pleasing people with extravagant spending" instead of investing into Worthy things. Abi...go through this thread and find numerous unemployed graduate brandishing the latest phones, wrist watches and shoes while they haven't invested in their own personal growth. You guys continue. Wish una luck. The government is a reflection of the followers. All talk but no common sense. |
Can we contribute hands and beat this OP for the hogwash he just posted? I dont mind taking a pay cut just to relocate to Abuja or anywhere else. If you like stress maybe Lagos is for you but waking up everyday panicking because of expected traffic is enough trouble than the cost of living in Abuja. Also because you are extra stressed in Lagos you have to pay extra money for things you should be doing yourself. Too tired to cook, you would eat out. Too tired to iron your shirt, you outsource. Things that should you should save on you have to spend extra just to keep up. Twice the cost of fueling because of constant traffic. Average employee in Lagos spend average of 3 to 4hours in traffic daily. So put all these together and you would see that what you wrote there is the opposite of things. And what is this entertainment that you guys shout about in Lagos? Is it going to bars or what? Because for the life of me I don't see anything as regards sitting in one position drinking whatever as entertainment because that's what you lots call entertainment. Abi is it the fifteen minutes boat ride for 10000 is what you call entertainment and some of us are not even night crawlers. So what ? |
Cherez:debating with People like you can be impossible. So the movement of ISIS was because of their wives that was forced? What would I not I hear. Same ISIS that ladies from UK are traveling to go join? If you are not informed about something. You either research it or move on. ISIS was surrounded but still yet they had thousands of civilians in the city. If the fight had pushed on it would only get worse. They were already using civilians as human shields. To save lives and end the fight they had to get them out of the City and that was what prompted the safe passage not the rubbish you were yarning up there. Can you see the parallel here? Human live is precious and you do anything to ensure minimal damage even if it means you go to the extreme If you don't like the way the kids were delivered you can go kidnap them again and rearrange the delivery. |
Cherez:You lots think it's so easy .. oh really moles? You think this is a James bond 007 movie? Who told you the government doesn't have a fair idea of where these terrorists are? And what would you do even if you know the location? Storm the place gun blazing? With terrorists carrying suicide vests around who have no regards to their own personal safety and believe any death is matrydom for them? Maybe if your daughter was amongst those kidnapped you would grasp the magnitude of the situation. You can sit behind your desktop and type rubbish away but doesn't change the messy reality of an hostage situation. Why hasn't the US rescued tens of their citizens kidnapped in Iraq or Syria by isis? Or you aren't aware members of ISIS and their families were allowed to evacuate Idlib to another area and even the US providing air cover and ensuring safe passage? I guess the US was clueless also? This does not excuse the stupidity of the government for allowing such kidnap happen in the first place but we passed that bridge and anything to get the girls back should be top priority. |
Sitex:Do you guys really read the news in full? The request BH made was that there was to be no military presence and government had to create a safe harbor for them to come drop the girls. Lives of school children are involved here and the government had nothing to do than to evacuate the military. Also note that there are still kids remaining with the terrorists and any harm meted out to this ones would result in their deaths and jeopardize the lives of the children still remaining in captive. You shoulduld know it is not always you criticize government. Government needs to choose their battles. This dapachi girls battle is not something government can win with force. It is an hostage situation and they have all the cards stacked against them. As long as the kids are returned back safely. Boko Haram would meet their fate another day. They are trying to discourage parents from sending their wards to school by creating hysteria. And I guess government needs to hasten the clearing out process so these people can be cleared once and for all. |
Ibime:Exactly...Yeah for months. Remembered news of him joining filtering in as early as April 2017. This lends more credence to why clubs need to give more room to Coaches to make their choices as regards player signings. Aside Wenger in his prime I think Klopp still rates high on improving players tactically and getting the best out of them. Likes of Firimio, Robertson, Trent and OX of recent are blossoming and this can be attributed to their coaches. |
