I just think in general relationships are draining and over rated. After the honey moon phase it’s problem after problem and forcing a fake smile for the cameras.
Not totally true.

I think your second sentence might be where the problem is. What's honeymoon phase? The stage you guys are lovey dovey and behaving like headless chickens. Or the fact that you keep the expectations of such period at the back of your mind and any deviation from such makes you seem like in a loveless relationship?

There's no formula for a successful relationship out there. I guess you just have to be willing to close your eyes to a lot of things , set priorities, find someone you have the same goals and kindly please you both need to get a life( get busy else you would choke yourself out).

If he wants sex only but you want a committed relationship. You want money and a fabulous life with regular parties and clubbing, he wants peace of mind and a supportive girl. I doubt such polar opposites would work out in the end because you both have different destinations. But honestly these are things that can be set aright from the start.

Pettiness and show off.

If she bought something...there would be like 50 pictures of it on Social media stating the prices, showing receipts , teasing people about it and other petty things.

It was evident she lacked self esteem and her only outlet for showing superiority or content were through vain things.

I am the opposite of this and can't imagine being a partner for such a person.

So what's so special about this?

Gone out many times and ladies have paid or insisted they paid or we split it. Gone to a supermarket for groceries and my ATM wasn't working at the checkout point and she paid for it with her card and till today wouldn't give me her account to refund.

Lots of Nigerian ladies out there who spend when outing. Maybe you guys stop moving with ladies with poverty mentality. If she is ordering for things and not making an effort to even contribute then maybe you stop going out with her.w

I doubt he makes up to this in profits every month
while he isnt the first to venture into this business , a lot of factors will determine if he would be able to make such a huge profit monthly.

The nature of that areas power supply ( erratic or constant), how much he spends on fuel monthly , where he is located ( marketplace or residencial area) , and his securitt measures to ensure no phone is stolen are some of the biggest factors that will affect his income.
Thanks for this. Ignore the olodos up there running their mouth.

No wonder 90% of startups fail. They only look at the income without the associated expenses or liabilities that come with it. In the end they are ill prepared and fold up within months. They do poor feasibility studies and because they hear people make such money daily they jump into it.

First he would use nothing less than 2k on fuel daily. The charge time would be prolonged due to the fact he is using a smaller gen and would be overloading it. I see him mention Solar. The average inverter setup that can consistently give you juice to power up such would need average of 6 trailer batteries and you would need better shade and cooling to make them much more efficient and last longer. We are looking at nothing less than 500k for solar and the inverter setup.

We have not added the costs of generator repairs, theft or damage of phones and other miscellaneous and you have to consider he would not be making bank 7 days. Sundays are slow days and he might not even make his daily average on suhc days.

At the end he is making profit but at a much lower rate than he projected ones.

I actually don’t fault Trump for his inane description.
I was shaken for about an hour and the scene kept on playing in my head. I am sure that body was a victim of one chance because that road is so lonely with deep forests both left and right.

You would be appailed to hear that on getting to Ijebu I saw people heading to ibadan flagging down cars by the roadside. Like what would it take you to go to the park ? Risking their lives for just 200 naira difference.

They need to give specifics.

I passed through ijebu ode 2 days after the Festival and along that road from Ibadan to Ijebu Ode there was a body on that road lying few kilometers off the city outskirts. Was on speed so couldn't even make out the gender but it had a blue Ankara trousers on and seemed like it had been dumped there because the head seemed to be missing.

I was driving so I had only a snap look at it because it was on the road and I had to avoid going over it.

I hope it's not this lady but all leads should be checked.

Nigerian youths are so freaking cowards!

Why are u guys scared of naming these companies that do not value your destinyhuh

Nobody knows your name here, go ahead and name them to shame them and pre warn others from working for them angry

Nigerian youths have been victimised to become cowards to even speak up anonymously, gosh, no hope for Nigeria angry angry

Let me help you guys:

1.) Any private owned school in Nigeria that is not owned by Europeans or Americans, don't work!

Most Nigerian private schools pay their staff between 15,000 - 45,000 per month as salary, isn't this suicidalhuh angry

2.) Any private hospital in Nigeria is a hell to work!

Private hospitals in Nigeria pay nurses between 30,000 - 50,000 and doctors between 75,000 - 150,000 depending on how big the hospital is, don't envy their staff cry

3.) Any Call center job is a hell!

4.) Any bank contract job is slavery!

5.) Any Nigerian fast food reatuarant or eatery or hotel job is slavery, don't expect good salary or welfare!

6.) PHCN under the new private owners now is a hell. I repeat NEPA work don cast! Anybody that tells u he or she works with Nepa now, pls pity him or her unless he or she is a manager or those people that go about disconnecting lights because they make money by stealing and crooks.

You see Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companyhuh If they offer u a job, get a lawyer and sue them for 10billion for attempting to enslave u angry angry

7.) Jumia, konga, Payporte, etc, in fact all online store companies in Nigeria are a waste of time. They don't pay their staff. They pay only the key managers!

8.) All transport companies in Nigeria; name anyone u know, pls be prepared to die young working for peanut unless u know how to steal smartly to makeup your useless monthly salary that can't rent u a house angry

9.) Any Nigerian owned factory, Indian or Lebanese owned factory or company, run for your life because u are going in for another slavery! angry

10.) Dangote companies; forget the name Dangote, all his staff members who are not managers are suffering, except those that steal in one way or the other.

Dangote job is another form of slavery! Run if any Dangote company offer u job, run, run and never look back until u disappear! angry

In fact, the only good jobs in Nigeria are federal government jobs, international oil company and oil servicing jobs, international shipping company jobs, some few bank jobs, government parastatals and NGOs (the best jobs), international aviation and airline company jobs, others are crap, most of their staff survive by stealing the company angry
Thank you...thank you...thank you. I found them agreeing not to name names as fucki...ng cringy. Like seriously. You are being enslaved and you can't even make an attempt anonymously to state such,

If you get a lecturing job there, don't laugh yet. The salary stated on your appointment letter is all lies. Almost 30k salary will be deducted for a supposed OSUA that do not exist.

Silly guys tagged "ticket men" can deduct your salary for any cause;just or unjust.

At the end of the day, your salary is what remains.
Plus you have no opportunity to go elsewhere to get more education i.e Ph.D if you don't have one yet. If you go,your salary will be deducted but if NUC is about visiting, the same university that don't want you do Ph.D will ask you to submit your admission letter for Ph.D to enhance accreditation.

Working there is crazy.
Most private Universities are scams even Public ones also do hire shady temporary lecturers just to get accredited.

Am totally disappointed in this late minute defensive tactics klopp is introducing. We have attackers on the bench to kill the game off. The essence of having options is when a first team player is having an off day take him out and introduce a more sharp player.
Mane was misplacing passes since the first half.

He should have been subbed out for Shaqiri at 60mins.

I am sure Shaqiri would have turned up and made a difference. Like splitting their defence with his runs but no. Klopp and his stubborn stance would wait till 90mins before changing players. Like the substitutes are just there for demo.

Should wealth be redistributed or just allowed to be accumulated by some few people to purchase needless toys while a large number lie in abject poverty without giving them an opportunity?

Left Ogudu before 5:15am. Hit Ikorodu road at Anthony via Gbagada Expressway. Veered to Muritala Mohammed Way and headed to Oyingbo.

As at 5:30, there was already heavy traffic on Muritala Mohammed around Post Office and drivers began using the BRT lane there.

Got to Oyingbo only to find that the usual cause of traffic in that place had not been taken care of by our able government. (Oyingbo early morning trading by market women who slice the road into 3 and give us one!)

The 'go-slow’ rode all the way to Iddo, and locked up at the foot of both the pedestrian and beneath Carter bridge. Again, because there's an unmaintained bad portion shortly after the left turn under Carter bridge in Iddo that has perennially bedeviled that spot.

More importantly, if you are or headed there now and reading this, please keep left. Don't join the queue to turn under the Carter bridge. Keep left and climb the bridge and go do a U turn in front. I don't know what name they call that place but keep left, there are about 12 trailers parked to your left descending same bridge; the road will pan out to you as you are descending. Do a U and you will be headed straight to the Island wether you then choose to turn right into Eko bridge on keep straight into Idumota market.

I went straight on Carter into Marina via the market.

Well, it took a little less than an hour, but I got to VI fine.
I don't know how to swear for those market women.

Like what in hell is their problem? Even if government is not doing anything don't they have conscience seeing people spend long hours on the road just because of their activities. Would they die if they move the trays into the inner streets? Sometimes I truly can't wrap my head around how some Nigerians think.

The stoning of the devil is just a symbolic act and not about stonning any devil. This is just a repeat of what the Prophet Ibrahim did as at then.

Like WTF.....Are this people always daft or is there something that comes with that position that makes reckless spending a norm? Like I am sure if it were to be his personal money he would not invest in it but alas it is free money. Let's just spend it anyways.

What's the traffic coming into Osun like that it warrants an airport? Even Ibadan that's far more bigger economic wise has it's Federal airport in disuse because it's just not economically viable.

You actually know what to do. No one would advise you to break up or keep putting up in the relationship. Maybe you have not been communicating with him. You can only get the answers you seek from him alone.

First. He is projecting on you. I can't say he is cheating but his behavior of checking your phone and asking for openness while he is closed ended is enough red flag.

Secondly , you are treated the way you present yourself. Maybe it is me, but jokingly saying he would cheat with a friend seems like bad taste for a joke to me and reeks of disrespect. Maybe I am too stoic but that's how it comes across.

Best bet is for you to reword this and send it to him asking for clarification. Someone who values you and truly loves you would care enough to offer some explanations or try as much as possible to make corrections to things you find offensive. Good luck.
PoliticsRe: The Exorbitant Electricity Bill In Rural Areas. by onegig(m):
LaudableXX:
You do NOT need to lie, in order to get your points across. sad Is it possible for millions of households not to pay any electricity bill for years, within this same Nigeria, and still be enjoying power? shocked What do you get from telling bold-faced lies, like this? Is it because you want to defend the DISCOs who are your paymasters?

In my own old family house, our average bill for the old meter was about 8,500 per month. We applied for the new meter, but it was never given to us. angry Every month we got the estimated bill, we paid. The highest we ever paid in one month was 13,000 naira.

All of a sudden, we were issued a bill of 65,000 naira for one month out of the blues. We were aghast. shocked We wrote letters and complained. We went to their offices several times, and reported the case. After 2 months, one of the managers confessed that the wrong factor or equation, was used to calculate the bill for that month.

Okay, we begged him to reverse the charges and re-calculate the bill. He refused. angry The entire EKEDC office managers in the district, claimed we should first pay the 65k, before they could treat our case. Next thing, they cut off the power supply. We dragged the matter for several months, but still had to pay. And then they made us pay reconnection fees as well. How anybody can defend a 65k monthly bill for a 3-bedroom house that does not use air-conditioners and lacks electric cookers, but has only one caretaker living inside just one room within the building, still beats me hollow, till today. shocked

In many parts of the country, the DISCOs are quick to cut off power supply due to non-payment of bills, even when those bills are wrongly computed by them. So where are the millions of households that have been enjoying power for free, but do not want to pay? Where did you see them? Did you do a survey before you jumped to this asinine conclusion? shocked

The "overseas" you referred to so blithely, would not give you estimated bills for electricity supply, you have never received. angry Go and check. You can sue the pants off them, if they try such nonsense with you. Or your elected officials can lose elections or may even be embroiled in a scandal, if they allow such illegal actions, to stand. So stop making unsubstantiated comments, please. undecided
I understand your grievances about estimated billing. Yeah people deserve to know exactly how much they are using and deserve accountability. I was just giving you another perspective why you see them foot dragging as regards distribution of prepaid meters. Prepaid meters aren't rocket science so why is it so hard to just distribute it. Seems perplexing given this has been an ongoing issue for more than a decade now. That alone should tell you there is more than meets the eye.

I wish I recorded the Estate committee around here going round with loud public address systems to beg members to please pay their NEPA bills. Tell an average Nigerian household to show you their bill and see the gangantum debts on it. They had to disconnect the whole transformer in a Local government when I served in Kano for months because 90% of the households did not fulfil their obligations in paying bills and this same scenario is replicate in almost all part of the country.

I think the leaders are part of the problem . When politicians campaign about light and water. I only wish they candidly tell people it comes at a cost but who would vote for such honesty?

As for your cost comparison. Per kwh electricity in the US costs 12cents per kilowatt. Compare to Nigeria where it costs 6 Cents and Germany where it is 35cents pkwh. Fun fact there was a thread here some years back about Nigerians in the UK turning off their inner lights and using the TV reflection because of high energy bills. Lol.

The problems in the power sector doesn't lie on the part of the end user alone but in this regard my reply was in response to the thread and the response of people stating that they used to receive N200 naira as monthly electricity bills and their annoyance that it has increased to N1000 or so.

oga that's no excuse, everyone has been shouting for pre paid meters but these criminals refuse...
Why would they allow you have prepaid meters?

They can't increase the tarrif to meet realities on ground.

Nothing happens in a vacuum. Every action has consequences. When the bad ones suffer, the righteous amongst them share in the burden.

They also have to balance their books. Pay employees, reward their shareholders and all sorts. When a greater percentage of households don't pay electricity bills they have to find a way to pass the costs around.

We can all shout ourselves to deafness but fact remains;

1. There are some neighborhoods that NEPA officials can't even dare enter because of harrasments from area boys or whatnot.

2. In many communities across the country there are still millions of households doing illegal tapping and connections to use electricity overnight and disconnect it in the morning. Who pays the bills for those instances? Me and you.

Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria. Heck just N200 monthly security guard money in my street. Some flats are still owing backlogs from 2013.

Tofa supplies some households on the Island direct electricity. Do you know how much a kwh costs? N108/kwh compare it to the N21/kwh that PHCN charges and those people get value for their money in terms of constant electricity.
PoliticsRe: The Exorbitant Electricity Bill In Rural Areas. by onegig(m): 9:49pm On Aug 13, 2018
We need to tell ourselves the truth.

Electricity is not cheap. I see people commenting about N200 per month for NEPA bills? shocked

How many minutes would N200 fuel last in your generator that you expect to pay N200 per month for an average of 4hours of light per day?

Yeah. There are crazy bills sometimes. But millions of households have not paid NEPA bills in like years and they expect good supply.

We all shout about overseas but kindly ask your families living outside the country how much they pay on electricity bills and you would know that to get something good you have to pay for it. Businesses aren't charity and to break even they need to make money also.

It is not his problem but it is a big concern for the society.

Going by the ridiculous and ignorance filled comments I have read on this thread, I begin to imagine what the young people of nowadays learn in school.

The internet is available for all to be educated on things people know nothing about rather you people are spilling comments devoid of knowledge.

A simple Google search on the effects of alcohol on foetal development would have put the ignorance of many away.

To summarise the reason why it is his problem to be concerned, a foetus that comes in contact with constant alcohol or drug abuse is at the risk of acquiring foetal alcohol syndrome, global developmental delay, intellectual disability to mention a few.

Those diagnosed with the above have little capacity to understand some basic relational issues or some cannot even have the capacity for empathy. They are at risk of developing serious anti-social and criminal behaviours especially in a country like Nigeria where there is no government intervention plans for kids with such diagnosis.

When the kids grow up and start to exhibit anti-social behaviour you people will start calling him all kinds of name because he is becoming a nuisance and big problem to the society. At that point, you will understand that it is everybody's business to be concerned about things like this.

What you and your likes don't understand is that the problem does not necessarily manifest in physical deformity, sometimes and most times, it is the brain that is usually attacked which is the centre of all human coordination and cognition.

Alcohol consumption and abusing drugs during pregnancy are things that should be condemned from and by right thinking individuals. Little wonder pregnant ladies are usually advised to consult their GPs Even before taking something as little as Panadol.

For a prosperous society, it is everybody's business to be concerned about someone taking alcohol and abusing drugs during pregnancy
