Atheist here to say that religion, praying, faith, all these won't do anything for you. You just have to make up your mind that you are going to avoid one or both of these things for once and for all.

Avoid going to places that remind you of these activities. Find friends who don't participate in these types of things. Move to an area where these are not easily available (this may be impossible). Find another, less expensive habit (video gaming). Masturb@te if it helps; it's free and safe.

It's really not a problem if you spend a lot of time in church in order to avoid betting and screwing, just as long as you don't give the pastor all your money and end up broke again.

Most smokers who quit completely do so without any kind of help. They just said one day that they would quit and that was it. But maybe you are not at that point yet.

The Quran is wrong. Show me divinely made material (that is, material from outside the universe) which is indestructible and eternal and which has Quranic verses on it, and I will convert that very day. But don't hand me a book made like all the other books, with natural material and composed with human hands, and tell me that it's divine unlike all other books.

And it's not like Allah couldn't make the disbelievers turn into believers by simply willing it to be. Unless he is not as powerful as Muslims think.

Ask yourself: Do you believe in a god?

1: If yes, then do you want to practice a religion? If yes, then look into faiths which don't have too many rules.
If you believe in a god but don't want to practice, then just stay home and worship in your own way.

2: If you do not believe in a god, then the problem solves itself. Stop going and don't bother with worship.

The difference between a cult and a religion is merely the number of members.

While it's totally true that only a fraction of Muslims that support Boko Haram, and that terrible wars were fought by non-Muslims, two things need to be said:

1) As of today, the number of armed groups fighting to establish Islamic sharia around the world is far greater than the number of other religious groups trying to establish their own religion as the dominant one.

2) Numbers of deaths don't really mean much here. If ISIS has killed a few thousand people it's only because they don't have the ability to kill more. Both ISIS and Boko Haram would happily kill millions if they could. Fortunately they don't have the means to do so. The western powers had the weapons to do so.

3) Jihad can certainly mean holy war, and in the Quran that is what it means most times it is mentioned. For members of ISIS and Boko Haram they are in fact fighting a war against corruption and evil--Christians, Jews, and Muslims who have gone astray, which is perfectly allowable in the Quran. In fact in Islam what is the most glorious death of all? Death in battle as a martyr for Islam is required in order to reach the highest level of heaven. Not a peaceful loving gentle death; they get a lower level of heaven. Holy war in fact is a necessary thing in Islam so that men can have the opportunity to get to the highest level of heaven.

4) The Crusaders of 1000 years ago were savage and bloodthirsty as well, and they acted in the name of Christ. It does not excuse Islamic terror groups of today.

What if God only allows atheists into heaven? Maybe this world is a test to see who can figure out that religion is fake.

I know what love is. I know what hope is. I do not understand faith; I have no faith whatsoever and I never have. It's time that faith becomes a negative and not a positive trait.

Adding, Christians do not disbelieve Zeus does not exist. They acknowledge it is a greek God but do not accept it divinity. There are numbers of God mentioned in the bible and christians acknowledge but do not accept them. Examples are Baal, Artemis, Zeus, Hermes, Ashtoreth and lots more. These are greek and cannanites God which the bible acknowledge and christians believe are Gods which exist but do not accept their divinities.



Christianity is parrt of theism which believe in at least a God called Jehovah. They believe other Gods existence but do not accept these Gods.

Christians always argue that God is a market and belief and religion is a way of reaching him/her. In that sense, they take their way of christianity while they acknowledge there are other ways that lead to God. Christians believe Allah exist but they choose christianity because they hold that it is the rightful way.

Atheism is not a belief. So your assertion is wrong.

I'd have to say that almost all the Christians I know do not believe that these other gods exist and believe that there is only one way to their god.

And you are correct that atheism expresses a lack of belief in any god.

Pantheism, meaning that the universe and god are one and the same, is something I don't really have an argument against. I do not believe in these other gods you mention.

This is a standard rule at most airports worldwide. If you have large amounts of cash or other monetary instruments, just declare it. But electronic transfers are much safer anyway.

I don't believe in any supernatural sentient being, but that does not necessarily mean I can disprove them. Pantheism is probably one of the only types of -theism I don't really have a problem with.

Atheism is not just only disbelieve in a God but all Gods. A christian that believe in Jehovah but disbelieve in Allah or Zeus is not atheist but theist. One cannot be a theist and atheist at the sametime. You are either a theist by believing in at least a God and disbelive in lot others or be an atheist by disbelieving in ALL gods.

This proves that God is not an entity but a tag given to something with a divine status or attribute. The star is divine hence it is God to Astrolatrist. If that's the case then clearly we were thinking different things when he used the term 'god'. I meant god in a sense of a sentient being with supernatural power. Obviously a pantheist or panentheist could claim that we are all god in the sense that we are part of god.
