Just wanted to let you all know that I have been raptured, but my wifi is still working which is how I am communicating with you. I told the angels that I was atheist and they said that I was exactly the type they wanted in heaven: someone who thinks critically, analyzes evidence, and challenges assumptions. Apparently the angels love to debate, and allowing a bunch of unquestioning people didn't appeal to them.

Anyhow heaven is not what Christians or Muslims think. There are no white-robed spirits singing God's praises, nor is there an eternal orgy with 72 virgins. However, there is a wide selection of beer (no hangover!) and some available girls who have plenty of good experience in the bed (no STI's). I asked where the Christians, Muslims, and Hindus are and the angels said that they will eventually arrive but that they had a little detour which will take some time to work through. The angels aren't quite ready to receive them.

I have to go now, Jesus wants me to help him find all those funny atheist memes on the internet.

I follow your line of thoughts. One would even question the sanity of the mods for taking such a thing to front page without a viable source attached to it.

What I find funny is many of this so called religious nitwits we have in this country view masturbat!on a sin, so if you masturba!e, you're a terrible sinner, they forget that sex too is just as grievous a sin as masturbat!on but you'll never hear them condemn sex.

So what I ask them what makes masturbat!on a greater sin than sex? If I sin and you sin, what gives you the right to say my sin is a sin and not say your sin is a sin?

All this is why I want no part in christianity or islam. I can not deny myself what I like/love just because a couple of two thousand year old book say its a sin.

I abandoned religion when I was 16 and have never had any regrets. As the saying goes, 'sin is an imaginary concept invented to sell you an imaginary cure'.

With this points I have made,I will take it that masturbation causes
harm to a human body. So masturbation should be avoided
except if only to be used for medical purposes.

Jesus, if he existed, was put to death by the Romans and is still dead. He can do nothing for anyone. You are following a myth.

Its my opinion though

I actually do that sometimes. Occasionally I debate a group of Muslims in a certain bar from time to time (we are 'regulars' so to speak), one of whom is a mallam, which is good because he can actually give the verses in Arabic and discuss the translation. They all know I'm atheist, but they all drink alcohol including the mallam so they can hardly be judgmental.

And what if there is a god and he allows only atheists into heaven? What then?

You need to think things through before you post

MLK was the outspoken leader of the minority of black people who were willing to challenge segregation and discrimination. Now almost any black person in the US can challenge racial bias. In other words, even among black people, his group was a minority, because most blacks in the south just accepted their situation. Now they are no longer the minority among black people.

A cult is just a religion whose leader is still alive. Other than that there is no difference to me.

Another way of looking at it:
One man saying that he talks to god is a crazy person. If he can gather 20 followers, then it is a cult. If he can gather a million followers, then it becomes a religion.

Which would seem to validate the Christians' claim that Jesus had a 'heavenly father', and not a biological one.

I'm an atheist so I don't really have anything to prove, but, according to the Quran itself, God sent the angel Gabriel (Djibril) to blow into Mary's vagina in order to get her pregnant with Jesus. So my question is this: who is the biological father of Jesus if even the Quran admits that he has no earthly father?

I personally think this was something Muhammad created in order to get Christians to accept him as a prophet, but without admitting that Jesus was the son of God.

He doesn't realize the strength of western culture. He also does not take into account the fact that many Muslims in Europe do not practice and that atheism is on the rise even in Muslim communities in Europe.

This is why people shouldn't fast in the desert, they start developing hallucinations of things like heaven and hell and spouting off ridiculous contradictory nonsense. Even more unhappily these people acquired a lot of followers which is why many people today believe this idea of a place of eternal torture from the all-loving, all-merciful god.

However, the idea of hell is useful for people who want to intimidate or control others.

Not ignostic, rather agnostic atheist, even though every definition of god that I've seen appears to be impossible.
