Omorotionmwann:
It has been 12years now since my dad has been down with Stroke which has affected his speech, his right hand and leg and some 4years ago,he couldn't walk anymore but had to be carried to sleep, sit and all physical metabolism is done where he is,even after I and my mum have spent and still spends a lot on physiotherapy, speech therapy, brain checkups at Mecure oshodi, routine and forthnight high blood pressure checkups with expensive drugs and still no changes but it gets worse, all done going around in taxi as I have no car.....

I was 18 and in 200level in a federal uni with him and my mum my only support system when all of this started, couldn't concentrate and focus on school work anymore as I am the firstborn of a 7 boys family and my attention was always needed.....Mum told me I need to drop out that she can't afford all of this alone but I was strong hearted and determined to graduate with a B.Eng...

I had issues with my lecturers as my attendance were poor and my course adviser said it to my face that I would never graduate but I never told them about my travails or they wouldn't even believe me anyways cos they were mostly SADIST,All Engineering lecturers in Uniben especially Mechanical/PRODUCTION ENGINEERING from 08/09 upward,OGUN KILL ALL OF UNA!!! Life was tough for me and my Mum....

Now that I am a Man and supposed to be focus on my life future and raising a family but this is still taking a toll on me emotionally, financially, mentally and I will come home to my mum nagging, crying that she has tried enough over the years and i might come home one day and she has left ....THIS BREAKS ME,I AM TIRED,I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO....I LOVE MY DAD,HE IS IN PAINS TOO!!!

IF I COULD SEE THE FUTURE BACK THEN WHEN IT STARTED,I WOULD HAVE ASKED THE DOCTORS FOR MERCY DEATH,DO NIGERIAN DOCTORS OR HOSPITALS GIVE OUT MERCY DEATH TO PATIENTS?

NAIRALANDERS,I AM DEPRESSED AND I NEED YOUR ADVICE

sorry for the long post. Mods please help this thread to front page for more advice

Your dad is better dead! I understand you are conflicted because you are an empathetic person. But scientifically, you punish your dad every moment you leave him alive in his condition. Healthy people murder themselves in the face of some foreseen travails, talk more of a man who has been deep in travails.

If your dad could still speak, he would have requested euthanasia himself long ago.

Personally, if I have a miserable, terminal disease, the types known for putting people through pain and misery, I will simply shoot myself straight in the head from the right side of my temple.

Food / Re: See the meal a churchy Nigerian almost made me missed today. by onojaford(m): 6:36pm On Oct 03, 2021
ahnie:
PLEASE IGNORE MY ENGLISH!
We all know how hard the country is @the moment,as we're all feeling the heat.

I have basically ran out of some major foodstuffs like yam, bag of potatoes, paints of rice and garri.for some couple of days now I have been racking my brain on how to purchase those items without disturbing my husband because recently he has bn complaining of low patronage.even my soaps and body scrub don finish for days now.

Me,I am somehow broke and sales lately hasn't bn interesting.i run a street roadside hustle and I don't go to hustle on Sundays which is my rest days.

But as level come be nau...kids must chow anyhow e be.so I decided since last night to come to hustle today being Sunday, since I have what to sale so I could see money to purchase those items I mentioned earlier on.

The raw truth I don't know how to borrow money from somebody, infact no one would even agree to lend money to you.so I decided to use what I have to get what I need.

Immediately I appeared in my hustleville arena this morning, one righteous woman like that dressed in a very lovely gown and peacock hat was to the first to hunt me down.

Mind you this woman has been hunting me for months, she was the reason why I stopped selling on Sundays because her preaching wahala was too much.

Mummy zee why nau?why nau?I thought you ve stopped?,why did you come out today.
Whilst she was busy asking me these questions,I bent down to lit my firewoods money must be made jare.

When she finished rapping, she looked at me,I looked at her,I carried my pan and placed it on the fire.in my mind I was like...hanty pls board your Keke and go,but for where.

I walked up to her and said.....pls ma'am cud you please lend me 30k?I need it to sort some things at home.madam said she doesn't have.

I left her there, went back to stir my beans paste in my mortal, madam borrowed herself sense then entered Keke and moooovv.

I settled down and sold maaad market,my money to buy those foodstuffs I mentioned is complete.i even bought succulent ripe plantains join to prepare correct plaintain and egg sauce for my family!
Bag of potatoes is sure, paints of rice is sure, tubers of yam toh sure, paints of garri nko,it's the Lord's doing.

I can confidently get my soaps and body scrub now.

Now my question is.....just because today that I didn't go to church would God be so angry to throw me into hell fire knowing fully well that my family needs these basic items?

Why do some too churchy righteous Christians likes hunting people that doesn't go to church and if you meet them to help you with money instead they will quote excerpts from the Bible to you.

Na market I sell....no be thief I thief!

Food is ready.
Indomie
3 eggs
Carrots
Green peas
Plantain.
Yum yum

The gospel truth is that: there's is no God who will be angry with you for not going to church. It's just what we were brought up to think.

I can't nd I don't think its a good idea, what if you share different blood group, if the child is a girl nd your child is a boy its not a good idea,,I hop it doesn't affect the baby

What's the science behind your answer? What has breast milk got to do with male or female? Don't people have twins (male and female)? Well, I suppose you drink nunu. But if you don't, then I'm glad to announce that millions of people drink that. And it's cow milk.

In a nutshell, anybody can suck any mammary.

What are you saying exactly? Who is talking about a mum who doesnt want to breastfeed her child?

Help or no help, whether the mother of the baby died or not, a woman who refuses to breastfeed a child that is not hers, is not a bad mother, that's the point.

A woman who refuses to "help" in either of the cases, is not a bad mother. She's a mother, low on the scale of empathy.

Hahaha... Very rational response. From this reason, I'm beginning to desire woman milk since I already drink cow milk. If I can drink cow milk which should be meant for calves, then why can't I drink woman milk which should be meant for babies?

Education / BUSTED: Lecturer From University Of Nigeria Wins Prestigious Harvard Fellowship by onojaford(m): 4:45pm On Sep 30, 2021
A lecturer in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Chidi Ugwu has been caught in a scandal after he clinched a fellowship to the prestigious Harvard University in the United States, aided in part by false claims.

Ugwu of the sociology and anthropology department of the university, who was recently appointed to the Radcliffe Fellowship of Harvard University, was said to have added to his credentials claims of having a diploma from the University of Helsinki.

From his LinkedIn profile, he also claimed he has been a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne since 2017.

According to information on his files, he was born on April 14, 1975.

However, investigations into his claims have revealed that Ugwu had made false claims as both institutions denied having such a name in their records.

“Part of Ugwu’s claims to justify being appointed a Radcliffe Fellow of Advanced Studies at Harvard University include obtaining a diploma from the University of Helsinki in 2013. He also added that he had been a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

“Separate inquiries were made with both institutions to verify the claims, but neither found his name in their records,” a source said.

A response to an inquiry about the authenticity of Ugwu's from the University of Helsinki obtained by SaharaReporters shows his records could not be found in the school's student information system.

Replying to the inquiry made by an interested party, one Leea Sokura from the school's registry, wrote in a mail: "Unfortunately I'm not able to find anyone whose name and date of birth would match these in our student information system, which would indicate it's unlikely he's ever been a student at our university."

Similarly, a mail from one Joseph, HR Assist at the University of Melbourne titled Re: Chidi Ugwu, in response to an inquiry about Ugwu's claim said, "Unfortunately, I can't seem to find that person in our records."

Sources also said some students alleged that Ugwu extorted from them substantial amounts of money in August 2019 and the school's Vice-Chancellor directed that the funds should be refunded to the students.

However, the directive has yet to be obeyed, with the hapless students too scared to speak up.

The lecturer was said to have truly graduated from the department of sociology and anthropology of UNN in 2006 and later obtained his doctorate in 2016 from the same institution.

However, according to sources at the institution, Ugwu is part of a ring of power brokers in the university that goes right up to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Igwe, who has been entangled in allegations of age falsification.

The most reasonable and scientific reply to matters like this ever. From the way Nigerians believe in the efficacy of charms, it only proves that their schooling may be largely vain.
Havertz10:
Some people will blame drugs or spiritual beings but the truth is that society is an agency, if it gets too difficult for certain people they give up and accept whatever comes their way till they die

Your friend has given up, has lost his pride, shame and self worth, he is just going to drift through the rest of his life till he dies, it's sad but it's the reality of the world we live in today.

Mad people aren't mad they are hopeless

I don't think charms make people mad.
Charmingrascal:
Someone already concluded that drugs caused his mental illness.

What if Marvis involved himself in some ritual to make quick money and it back fire, what if it was depression, what if Marvis was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

What if someone made Marvis mad.

I always say this, many mentally ill patients that are roaming the streets will be well if they are giving psychiatric treatment.
The Government should do something to help mentally ill patients

May God heal Marvis and send helper his way
