From the scripture freeze quoted that is hebrews 7, the verse 11 says that mechizedek is a higher priest than Aaron and the sons of levi. So Jesus is our great high priest after the order of mechizedek since he has offered his blood once and for all.
What are the orders of Melchizedek?
Okay let me break it down.....
What are the "similarities" between the priesthood of Melchizedek and the priesthood of Jesus?

This man is just looking for a way to stay afloat in the media. The fact that somebody sounds reasonable because of the English he's speaking doesn't mean he actually is...
He's "wisdom" is foolishness before God. If he actually has the fear of God he won't bring logical reasoning to the things of the spirit. You Don't compare fleshly wisdom to Heavenly wisdom
If you were indeed once a tithe payer and you quit because of freeze tithing controversy then you're of all men most miserable.

Where in the Bible did God ever say "Do not pay tithe"?
If the senseless freeze can answer me then I'll still not stop paying tithe.
The bible wasn't given to us to read only the first testament...
He'll still be the one to sing "Abraham's blessings are mine"
Would like to help U with scripture quotations but before i do so....i would like to ask U the kind of tithe U practice...
Is it the "law based tithe" as contained in the law of moses or the "tithe of war spoils" which Abraham "voluntarily" gave Melchizedek?

And to the ignorant (those without knowledge of the word of God) who claim that "Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it", I totally agree with you but I want to ask if you actually know the meaning of "FULFILLED". The question is, if something is fulfilled (completed, finished, done, accomplished, carried into effect), does it need to be carried out, done, practiced or repeated againhuh
U are absolutely right!
There are scriptures to attest to the fulfillment or completion of the law of moses
Galatians 3:17-25
Romans 13:8-10
Love is the fulfillment or completion of the law of moses!

I like this illustration and I think it will be of help to understand the dispensation of the "law" and that of "grace"!

Lets say U are travelling to Lagos from rivers state and u need two buses to get to ur destination!
Let's say the bus from rivers state stops u at Edo state and u take another bus to Lagos state!
The bus that took u from rivers state to Edo state has completed its Work/Fulfillment and has nothing whatsoever to do with U any more....

The same applies to the law of moses....it kept us until Christ will be revealed!

Pls , someone should read Mathew 23:23 With all sincerity of heart
Jesus made dis statement when he was still UNDER THE LAW....in other words,he could not abolish or condemn tithe...just the same way he could not abolish burnt offering or burning of incense or circumcision....

He needed to die for the law of moses(which includes tithes) to be brought to its completion!

The problem is that most people, including preachers of Malachi 3:10, don't even understand or don't want to understand what Malachi is saying. Malachi 3:10 was speaking to the Jews that already knew the law and how tithe should be given. Malachi 3:10 never annulled Deut 14:22-29. Rather, it rebuked the priests and the entire nation for not carrying out the tithing and offering proceedure
That's true....its just that most tithers treat Deuteronomy and Malachi as separate entities forgetting that the law was still in place during the time of Deuteronomy and Malachi even during the time of Christ on earth!

This guy keeps soaring in ignorance. New covenant (testament) started after the death of Christ. You no longer require a priest to make sacrifice on your behalf, you dont need the blood of animal to atonne for your sin etc. He said that Jesus is our great high priest after the order of mechizedek who accepted tithe from the hand of abraham, now if Jesus is our great high priest(in his death) after the order of mechizedek then it means that He as well collects or is still collecting our tithe.
What to you is the "order of Melchizedek" based on the scriptures?

cheesy
The one that baffles me most is that 99% of those who tithe don't follow the requirements of tithing as contained in the law of moses from the bible...
They only do what the Pastor in the church they attend instructs them....which is the extra ordinary Malachi 3:10 cheesy

Was having a discussion with a friend who tithes...I asked her to show me a scripture on tithe and she directed me to malachi 3:10 as usual cheesy
When i showed her Deuteronomy 14:22-29,she could not believe it....She was even doubting the same bible she was reading...she even had to go to "King James Version" to ensure Deuteronomy 14:22-29 was actually there and also "required her to eat her tithe" grin grin grin grin
She ended up saying she will still go with Malachi 3:10 grin grin
Her reason is that She first saw Malachi 3:10 before Deuteronomy 14:22-29 and that her Pastor never said any thing about eating their tithe according to Deuteronomy 14:22-29!

I shook my head...Wahala dey ohhh cheesy cheesy

the drivers are also to blame. An accident occurred on lafia road due to the driver's stubbornness. While passengers were telling him to slow down, he refused and he consequently crashed into an oncoming vehicle. Luckily, the passengers escaped with minor injuries while the driver broke his leg.
You are right!
I also have to admit that drivers are also partly to blame!
But during difficult times,we have to be creative!

Some one can offer to feign having stomach upset and plead with the driver to stop while that person stools!
As soon as the driver stops, everyone should engage the driver and threaten him.....
Yes threaten him!
See bro its ur life Ohh and that of others that are at stake ohh.....So don't treat it with kid gloves!

It's important to note though, that if your yelling/shouting too much, e fit also make the driver/bus get accident
Thats not totally true esp when all passengers are collectively cautioning the driver!

I remember when i was travelling during my nysc service year,a corp member, first asked us to pray for a safe journey...afterwards,he didn't give the driver any breathing space...Once the driver over speeds,he ensures he gives the driver a mouthful....the beautiful and lovely part was when all the passengers added their voice and the driver quietly drove safely till we got to our destination!
Can U see what a unified entity can do to our society or some one?

For me before travelling,i first meet the driver and ask that he drives professionally and with care reminding him that he also has a family some where who would want to see him alive!

One thing U must know is that 80% of the drivers U come across on highways are not mentally fit to drive a car or a bus!
These are the things we should assist FRSC to do...They cant always be every where or monitor everyone....
Nigerians must start taking responsibility!
We can keep watching things happen while our loved ones are slaughtered by reckless entities who think they own the high way!

Thats all i can say...but if U have a better option than yelling or shouting or cautioning the driver,Please say it here....its important that we learn from each other and do our own part to curb all these unavoidable deaths on our roads...Thank U!

This really bursts my heart.

When will road accidents reduce drastically in our country?
When do we stop experiencing fatal road accidents in our nation?

What are the major causes of these accidents sef? Is it spiritual or man error?
Is it bad roads? reckless driving? bad vehicles? drinking while driving? impatience? nonchalant attitude? non qualified driver? ignorant?

Who are to be blamed, Government? Citizens? Drivers? passengers? Road safety
agency?

But wait o, why is that the drivers usually survive while the whole passengers die in most of these accidents?
I mostly blame the passengers.....
U see a poor vehicle,U go in and pray hoping God will lead U to ur destination using that bus...yet God gave people eyes to see!
A driver is over-speeding...instead of cautioning the driver, they say a prayer and take a nap yet God gave humans a voice to speak!

The Road safety agency to me is trying to the best of their ability(though i admit some of the officers are corrupt) but most Nigerians are too stubborn....
"Don't drink while driving"....that's when U will see some one heavily drunk driving a car!
"Don't answer a call while driving"...U will see our so called educated men & women making series of calls!

Most of us like flouting laws and yet go on social media to complain when some few officers are trying to bring sanity to our corrupt and battered system!
Nairaland GeneralRe: All Passengers In A Bus Die In Accident Along Lagos-Benin Road (Graphic Pics) by openmine(m): 1:01pm On Dec 20, 2017
Its so obvious that the driver was over speeding and its also obvious the passengers were silent or even cheering him on with his fast and furious 5 skills....Now they are dead not because they did not believe in God or because they didn't pray well enough but Because they were silent and failed to caution these unprofessional and reckless drivers.....

Like i keep saying, most drivers on our roads are not alright in the head...Some drivers need psychological therapy....some are having health or financial challenges at home! All these can have an adverse effect on the driver...Thats even the reason why passengers are not supposed to sleep while travelling!

For some one to drive on the highway,U need to be mentally and physically prepared so that you don't endanger other road users!
Hence the passengers must do all that is necessary even if it means shouting or yelling at the driver, please do so...!
Its Ur money....Ur safety is involved...You don't have a duplicate some where!

When he reduces the love and commitment towards her,she gets angry, jealous and suspicious...even goes on to accuse him of cheating on her!

A lady adores and loves a guy...to the extent that she sends him a beautiful and lovely complement every day...he complains and said her love is too much....that she should reduce it...she respects his decision and reduces her commitment towards the relationship....He protests, gets suspicious and starts checking her fone to know if she is flirting with another guy on social media!

Most of dem see tithing as MMM:give one-tenth and expect 100folds in return

If Nigerian pastors democratize tithing like what Jesus Christian preached about in Matthew 25,most of the homelessness and needy people will reduce drastically
U are absolutely right...Most believers pay their tithe due to the promise of showers of blessings and the curses attached to them....

Jesus said :
Matthew 5:20 KJV
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
True...the righteousness that is based on the finished work on the cross!
The righteousness that is not based on the law but on the power of Grace!

enilove:
Matthew 5:17 KJV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Yes he came to bring the law to its completion.....In other words, the purpose of the law has served it purpose once Christ was revealed....

Galatians 3:11-14
11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Galatians 3:17-24
17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
enilove:
Was it not counted for them as righteousness when they pay their tithes? If it was part of righteousness and Jesus has not cancelled the laws and we are expected to do what the Pharisees did and surpass it , why do you think payment of tithes is not necessary.
It never was because that righteousness was based on works which is also hinged on the mosaic law!

Galatians 3:21-25
21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
enilove:
If it was part of righteousness and Jesus has not cancelled the laws and we are expected to do what the Pharisees did and surpass it , why do you think payment of tithes is not necessary.
Jesus was born under the "mosaic law" hence he never opposed tithing just the same way he never opposed burnt offerings, sin offerings, circumcision or burning of incense!
But when he died and resurrected,he put to an end the dictates of the law as written in Galatians 3 and God made him a high priest of a new covenant which was far superior to that of the law of moses!

Hebrews 7:18-28

18 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

20 And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath, 21 but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:

“The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
‘You are a priest forever."

22 Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.

23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

26 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. 28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Jesus did not deny that tithe is necessary. He said they needed to pay tithes and not forget being merciful , faith etc
Just the same way he never denied the necessity of circumcision or sin offerings or burning of incense and that is because he was still under the law of moses!

enilove:
The points are :
We must do all what Pharisees did and more
The pharisees pay tithes , to exceed them we must pay tithes and combine it with judgment, mercy and faith as per Math.23:23.

Just the same way every Jew who was under the law were obligated to observe the ordinances of the law!

Do U know how many Christians that have been converted to atheists because of what some pastors they had so much respect for did?
If Reverend Kings was not exposed for what he did to that sister,He still would have continued his heinous acts using the bible and church as a cover!

Even the apostles needed money and the members were faithful to sell their properties and give the whole money to the gospel, who can do that now.
I think the scriptures in Acts 4 was clear on that......
No one forced them or commanded them to sell their properties...They did so on their OWN FREE WILL!
And the monies put on the Apostles feet was actually used to cater for those who are impoverished or needy!

If we don't pay tithes are we ready to give all to the gospel?
Giving must be decided from the heart and for a purpose!
You can never preach to a hungry man no matter how charismatic or smooth a pastor is!
If U want to preach to a man or woman who has no hope in life,First offer him or her hope by helping him or her....
Only then can you preach the gospel to such person....Of what use is the Gospel to a helpless man?

why is it so hard for u to tell me where Jesus asked his disciples to stop tithing? The only time Jesus mentioned the word tithe in the new testament, he permitted it(matt23:23)...now tell me where he eventually asked his disciples to stop tithing..
Asking me such a question is like asking me where Jesus asked his disciples not to carry out 'circumcision' or 'burn incenses' or 'do burnt offerings' or 'observe sin offerings'!

One thing U are still yet to grasp is that the "law based tithe" which was endorsed by Jesus was because he was still under the law...!

How would he GO AGAINST one of the law of Moses "tithe" and leave out burnt offerings or sin offerings or any other laws as contained in the law of Moses?

The biblical tithe that Jesus mentioned in Matthew 23:23 was borne out or contained in the law of moses....

And the bible says in Hebrews 7:11-19 that the mosaic law along with its covenant and ordinances have been ABOLISHED simply because it was WEAK AND USELESS!

Or let's put it this way....Let's say your were meant to pay your school fees which contains sports levy, textbook levy, library fee etc....Then some one decides to PAY OFF the school fees for you!
WILL YOUR STILL NEED TO PAY FOR 'SPORTS LEVY' OR OTHER LEVIES AFTER SOME ONE HAS PAID IT FOR YOU?

Everyone now wants to be popular. We get the stunt.. If u can't tell me where Jesus told his disciples to stop tithing, i will still keep tithing tongue
The very first Apostles and pastors did not collect tithe or asked for tithe?
Base ur anchor on the book of Acts where U had the very first pastors of the gospel of Jesus!

If i may ask....
Do U observe burnt offerings?
Do U burn incenses?
Do carry out burnt offerings?
If you do all these and all other laws of moses, then U are free to tithe!

How did he become a pastor is what is baffling to me.

God that called him should have told him from the beginning that tithe collections is wrong,
Don't blame pastors like him....some are still not knowledgeable in the bible....Most have elders like GO Adeboye or Bishop oyedepo whom they listened to for understanding and looked up to as a source of inspiration...hence they were unable to study the bible to know the truth!

He now knows the truth....There are so many pastors like him...unfortunately,not all of them have been able to swallow their pride to unlearn what they have been fed with for years!

How can a child of the Devil be the one to tell you the things of God. As a pastor was he not reading his bible ?
How did U come to the conclusion that freeze is a child of the devil?....whats ur basis for classifying him as a child of Satan?

Jesus told us in the new testament that the paying of tithes is necessary. Tomorrow , this kind of pastor would come out to say it was the devil that lead him astray.
Like others have said correctly, christ never condemned tithing the same way he did not condemn burnt offerings or circumcision or burning of incense....and it was because christ was born under the law of moses hence could not go against the law until he has been crucified!

Pay your tithe and let the Devil be ashamed.
The devil is always humiliated when a true doctrine that is not based on lies shows up

Hmmmm.....This is just the beginning....
Only the humble and wise will decipher.....
Once a transformation from God takes place,no matter who the messenger is,the message will keep moving...Until it has accomplished its purpose!
Some pastors wont like this one bit but they can not stop the effects of a true doctrine whose time has come.....!
Tithing replaced with GIVING GENEROUSLY without being under duress or a compulsion!
