NewsForYou:I am glad you have come forth with this, there is now grounds for a discussion. Let's analyse how Jonathan came into power firstly; he came on the platform of an already established arrangement of Yaradua's defunct administration, so he had to improvise in a bid to carry everyone along peacefully and he did that well, and most importantly, lets not forget he officially had only One Tenure as president, which made his administration rather tricky to analyse, but also very simple to analyse due to the short time frame- now that was the political side. In terms of performance, Jonathan's administration had the most technocratic alignment of cabinet members working alongside him- Please carefully observe the portfolios of the "majority" of Jonathans cabinet, and let's not forget, the CBN governor in Jonathan's time was also very dynamic, so as a result, most of the major and impactful national project blueprints were drafted in his administration (making his administration the most innovative- if you want proof, I can provide solid references). A lot of current projects in Buhari's administration, have stemmed from the innovative blueprints of Jonathan's administration. but remember as much as Jonathan was focused on his tenure, he was also trying hard in maintaining political stability especially due to how he entered office- though I wasnt a fan of his passive nature, but the man loved peace and we saw it in how he diplomatically handled the occasional Bìafrá motions that popped up. His diplomacy really suppressed insurgency from many disgruntled groups that could have erupted. Now Jonathan's perspective of peace and dialogue promoted a very healthy economic atmosphere. So it's easy to say a strong aspect of Jonathan's administration was diplomacy, and being closer to the masses. Now it's impossible to overlook the mass looting that occurred in Jonathan's administration, however is this administration without its Sin of looting even with the single treasury?? I just think looting so far has been proportional to the state of National wealth. There's not much to loot by this administration, because there's not as much wealth available...undergoing two recessions tells that story. Now coming to the performance of this administration; You need to understand that Buhari built his administration from scratch, since it wasn't an inherited administration, so he had lots of time to select wisely, and that was his first flaw...he didn't select a crew that could deliver technically (even after waiting for a couple of months to design his cabinet, it was not a convincing cabinet) in terms of the personel/executive staff, there are lots of square pegs in round holes the president himself is the minister of petroleum (which is a story for another day), this administration should have been focused on restructuring and diversifying however... contrary to all the advice ogababa received from, NOI, Soludo, Sanusi etc oga decided to ignore everyone and play Conservative sheriff locking up funds in the name of fighting corruption. Secondly knowing the situation of things, oga repeatedly chooses hostility to handle disgruntled groups thereby escalating the already tense atmosphere of the nation, which of course has affected the economy. Why does Buhari never employ dialogue, especially in this modern era of information?? ( have you ever asked that question?) The old man with the Iron fist! Third, the CBN governor in this administration is really on autopilot, because his hands are incapacitated due to ogas decisions from of course a weak Economic advising team ... the outcome, 2 economic recessions Yes, the recessions are as a result of very poor economic decisions. I knew NOI was smart, but what I see now in the Economy makes me respect her the more. Baba Oga was advised to devalue the currency several times... Nope! He refused listening to the advise of seasoned Economists, because he feels 2015 and 1982 have the same Economic Ecosystem, he was warned about oil prices, and the need to change some obsolete laws, Nope! He stubbornly decided to personally handle the petroleum/oil and gas portfolio , have you noticed what's happening now with NNPC?? Not to talk about the export and import restrictions, aviation restrictions, like every sector has restrictions now. Do you think these restrictions don't have economic implications? Fourthly Baba locked the border in a bid to stop corruption but further crippled the economy during that period, I realised his decisions were driven by an archaic disciplinary mindset rather than the outcome of Sound Economic Evaluation. What do you expect from someone without depth in critical reasoning? He employs old tactics for new problems, why did Buhari who has had two terms of his own government, not adapted appropriately to the situation at hand in his own administration? Fine! Oil is not bringing money, what feasible decisions has he made to fund alternative solutions?? Once again he is still stuck with 1982 patterns for 2021 problems. Fyi this administration has the most unfavourable atmosphere for doing business due to soooo many restrictions, Foreign currency operations in Nigeria has become Jamb exams (if not for Osinbajo's quick intervention, almost all the foreign investors would have left Nigeria), all these stiff policies have an adverse effect on the economy. I am not even comparing Presidents (otherwise I would have highlighted security issues and terrorism), but rather I am Evaluating the economic decision making performance of both administrations which are a collective organ... and the decision making of this administration has been poor, ineffective, abysmal and has led Nigeria to a further state of shambles. Period. To say this Administration is the worst since democracy is an understatement. |
NewsForYou:Sir, That's beside the point, APC or no APC... can we not ignore the fact that this is the worst administration since democracy 99". You literally made a post that celebrates this administration and although I admire your goodwill, you need to be called out, to see from that lens. |
NewsForYou:I am shocked that someone who seems as enlightened as you could type this up... The content of what you typed oozes ignorance on various levels to the point I am concerned. I would really love to engage in a discussion with you, to actually understand why a supposedly well meaning Nigerian could be this complacent. The funny thing is one doesn't have to think critically to call out the severe flaws of this administration. Even if the president is made to look bad as you assume, what has he got to lose at this time? He is literally on the verge of completing his second tenure and yet are you oblivious to the fact that common indexes of success do not exist in the country? Please state a common positive KPA(Key performing Area) that this administration can be solely associated to after 8years. Fyi: Nigeria actually misses President Goodluck Jonathan currently, compared to this administration... If Buhari is missed, then perhaps the situation would spell total catastrophe. Congratulations by the way!! I think you have just made it to the most controversial Nairaland post of 2021 ![]() |
BeeBeeOoh:To Imagine that young educated people in Nigeria are beating their chests and proudly saying Tinubu is Nigerias next president come 2023, is the one that baffles me... It bothers me so badly that Nigerians don't even think they need better. If over 120 Million people have this sort of thinking, then there's no need |
Although I speak French, I must say that French is definitely the harder option when compared to Spanish. The Logic of speaking French itself, is just something else... This is still my position on the language after 26years of using it. Even though my French accent is proper, due to my logic of using it, one can still tell I am a native English speaker and that's the thing with French! You can easily tell a speakers main language, (especially if he is an Anglophone), if you just listen to the speakers applied logic. It's not that much the case with Spanish. |
chatinent:Brother, I asked you a very simple question; pick one out of the three in terms of raw capacity... Don't make it a complicated drill. "None" was not an option. Just pick one. |
chatinent:But wait, Lets be serious here... if you are told to select an individual who has the mental capacity to Manage Nigeria adequately between; 1- Kingsley Moghalu 2- Tinubu 3- Atiku Abubakar Who would you select? |
JackDaAlienz:Firstly; What are the age ranges of those children? Secondly; Are the children actually "Nigerians"? Thirdly; Do they live in Nigeria? Your answer to these questions will make your complaint have reason or not... |
Lakseg:Unfortunately your skill has no visa category you could directly apply for, as a Nigerian... FYI in Texas, many Mexican and Cuban 16 year olds (whose families mostly own auto garages) have that skill without even going to school for it- its really considered a blue collar skill. My advice; earn a proper degree in Mechanical or industrial engineering, then combined with your degree, that skill would become relevant to apply for a skilled visa category or the likes. |
Iginla was the most precise in terms of accuracy... 88% came to pass. Especially the Elections for Uganda and Zambia. He was very much on point with the Nnamdi K saga. And he was on point with the ailing Gabonese president |
BluntTheApostle:Dont mind me my Brother, we are just two men who love the game ![]() |
BluntTheApostle:Yes he had a system. To be honest Rohr was not the best of coaches, but he always stuck to a system. He just used the wrong players for his system and I think NFF is partly to blame for wrong player selection, for instance, Musa's inclusion. (I know his constant inclusion is just an NFF ploy) Rohr stuck with a flexible back three, which is why Troost Ekong and Balogun are his go to center backs. You may call Balogun lazy, but here are some quick facts about Balogun; He is Nigerias most versatile center back currently- (he can play on the right, left and center) He has the best aerial duel results for any super eagles central defender since match stats started recording. Asides being a CB, His is also a Sweeper defender, with good distribution... once again Leon is versatile He speaks fluent German, (he was mostly the translator for Rohr and the team). Unfortunately because he is 33, he is not as rapid, nevertheless he is still a good CB. Ekong on the other hand is a pretty solid defender, I think he will get better with time. Awaziem completes the trio with his versatility, he is the second most versatile defender on the eagles line up, so I really am a fan of the back three. I have no problems with Okoye as the keeper, he is very ok. The mid feild is pretty decent if Ndidi is in form(doing what he does best at DM) and Iwobi handles creativity. However, the issue with this current super eagles is the attacking combination ... everything is wrong there, lemme explain; There are two important systems we need to observe in a three attack formation; 1-Bayern Munich front three with Lewandowski as a traditional 9, And 2-Chelsea's front three using a false 9. First issue; Rohr uses the Bayern Munich system and Rohr deployed Oshimen as a traditional 9, which is funny because Oshimen is not a traditional 9, he is a wide forward like Mbappe, who is best fitted with a roaming role. However he tried to fill in the traditional 9 role- which of course means you won't get the best out of Oshimen (being a traditional 9 requires a player to play with his back to goal) which is what Ighalo is very good at and Oshimen is not. I feel if Rohr was to get the best out of the attack he had, he should have played a false 9 system and dropped Musa for Pete's sake, allowing Osimhen, Iheanacho, and a faster winger like Ejuke or Chukwueze to circulate. Oshimen would be unstoppable in this system.(something like what Chelsea does with Werner, Pulisic and Havertz). Now this can still be done easily. Second issue; Onuachu is a very good target man, which is what Rohr wanted, but if you put him when Oshimen is still hot, who do you drop, Oshimen?? Rohr's system requires a traditional 9 of which Paul Onuachu is a direct replacement for Oshimen and Dessers a good backup for Oshimen. Which was the case when Oshimen had a previous injury. That was Rohr's biggest problem which is why he brought Ighalo back, to have Oshimen also on the feild with a traditional 9. Now as per the system potentially being changed; Introducing Awoniyi and Dennis now, means Eguaveon is likely changing the entire system, because Dennis is a forward like Oshimen and Awoniyi is a traditional 9. So including two of such players when Iheanacho and Onuachu are already there, and especially in a situation where Dessers was the spare man, tells the intention of playing with two strikers. Which was not the previous system. Meaning time is needed to adapt to a new system- for years, the players were all fitted to a 5 2 3 why switch now, essentially when the world Cup is at hand?? To be honest I am even tired. |
Coach be changing system now@ 5 minutes to 12... na waah o This was my fear from the beginning, I hope the system is not completely distorted |
Frank Edoho is the winner of Savagery by far... He took intense graduate level courses on Savagery and classy character assasination. Jim Iyke will make you fight when he includes your parents in the dissing. Tonto has no shame |
Deadmeat:This question is similar to asking; Why is it that the Ostrich can't fly like other birds? |
There is no Nigerian on Earth, who is not aware of how a particular Baba has completely scattered and destroyed the remaining country people were holding on to... One president that almost everyone can collectively say has failed on all levels... Give him two more years and there won't be any country to return to, because he would have brought down armageddon completely... An administration that can boast of two back to back economic recessions, all because the rules of common economics were not adhered to... And somebody is also the petroleum minister... Nonsense and ingredients. |
Buharifan:Number 1: has no balls literally... He is too weak, passive and doesn't look in control most of the time, especially when military action is needed. The times we are in, due to security situations and Global influence from world leaders, does not need a person who doesn't convey confidence. Besides he's had his chance already... I don't see much of a difference he can make. Although he is intelligent, his passive demeanor spoils the whole mix. Verdict: A No from me. Number 2: is literally another Old stock, one of those calibre who feels the Presidency this time is an ethnic entitlement rather than a call to immediately restructure. No, Never again. Verdict: A solid No from me Number 3: Kai... another one... these oldies don't know when to retire do they?? Verdict: A solid No from me Conclusion: None of them... They should all go and sit down. Nigeria needs a pair of fresh hands, who has no political baggage, doesn't owe no loyalty to no godfather or ancient political party... Nigeria needs a very bold(bold enough to potentially revisit and redo that bloody 1999 constitution), sound and educated technocrat, who is young enough to read and interprete global trends and old enough to be classically dynamic... They didn't swear for Nigeria with this old stuff... Abeg enough is enough. For example, If Kingsley Moghalu or any similar mind shows up... I wouldn't be that dumb to ignore such and pick any of these old stock. Tufiakwa. My happiness is that any progressive thinking person is aware of this fact. |
I can relate to that experience... That thing is not funny... I remember once very bad weather made the pilot attempt landing thrice to no avail before finally landing the bird on the fourth attempt... boooy oh boooy! The experience was exhilarating. My Pipo, I knew all the Nigerians on the flight that day ... RCCG, Dunamis and Winners all turned up on that flight Even the Oyibos started joining the air kabashing ...This life is funny though, because everybody on that flight was shouting "Chisos!" Even if they didn't know the origin of the name nobody was in the right frame of mind to even capture a video because the heavy knocks on the plane and the oxygen masks that dropped from the top cabin had made everyone to start having deep reflections. When the plane finally landed, everyone literally lined up to go to toilet and air hostesses had to share water again... nobody rushed to disembark due to exhaustion. I am pretty sure some folks wet themselves. I can laugh about it today, but that moment was not funny at all. |

SwissMass:On what grounds?? If you don't intend voting him, please desist from posting stuff like this. The Nigerian Presidency is by vote mandate, not by heritage or entitlement. Until people vote their choice he ain't nobody... |
Stephendeals:God bless You sir! You hit the nail on the head. For Lukaku to thrive as a traditional 9 in Chelsea, they need a traditional winger like Kingley Coman to keep serving him. The players they have now and system they play just favours a false 9 player. Even if Erling Haaland came to Chelsea now, it would still be the same issue. |
Netanya:I understand the depression part, but suicide is not an option... Suicide needs to be highly discouraged. That means even if depression or bullying is out of the picture, other things like dissatisfaction or hunger can still lead to suicide? No man "Suicide is not an option" More Focus should be on Suicide education. |
Congratulations Eto! Meanwhile Jay Jay Okocha is still dancing for betting houses... |
1stGenAmerican:I am sure it sounds funny he caused it, but let me throw some light into this matter. In Trumps tenure, it was common knowledge that the US-Mexican border was blocked to illegal migration. Illegal immigration was literally villainized and severely frowned at, such migrant actions at the border was seriously discouraged by USCBP applying harsher actions... of course all that "Build a Wall" talk was not a gimmick. Immigrant programs such as DACA were even suspended, Deportations were increased and in short... There was no hope for illegal migration. So essentially, in Trumps time those border activities were considerably reduced. Now along came Biden, who had no clear cut immigration plan, his horse was basically "Anti-Trump", basically reversing every Trump act, of which included Immigration, opened borders, relaxed immigration policies, restarted immigration programs that were cancelled such as DACA... all these actions raised Hope again for illegal Immigrants and sure enough there was a rise in those numbers. I was at the El-Paso border area just recently and if you see how immigrants are adopting strategies to Jump into Texas in large numbers, you would realise how the fear of Trump reduced some crazy things. |
AngelicBeing:Your logic is very true. It is important to note that Lizards all over the world have different sizes, and their size crucially determines their position on the food chain. So Basically, while an African Lizard will retain its normal position in Africa, it will be typically bigger than it's Canadian counterparts, which could move it up some ranks on the food chain in Canada. Therefore your saying can be readjusted to this; A common Lizard in Africa, is an Alpha Lizard in Canada, Cyprus or Australia (although Australia is a different case). |
paulolee:Some players perform better and produce significant impacts as substitutes #SuperSubs. Coaches are very aware of this tactical strategy. An example of that was Pius Ikedia of the older Super Eagles batch of 99/early 2000's. You see, he didn't have the stamina/endurance to sustain his play style for a full 90min match because he was very explosive. However he performed better when introduced in the last 30mins of a crucial game... by then the opposition are set under pressure and fatigue to handle an explosive element. He caused the opposition to make more mistakes, commit more fouls, he distorted opposition formations (which is a rule of thumb if you need to score, distort the opposition formation), and he also had dribbling techniques that were time wasting (in a case the super eagles were leading). Dessers stats also shows he impacts a game more from the bench, because he has played full matches with average performances before. |
