Nbotee:Unfortunately Nigeria prefers to vote either old men, area boys, herdsmen and Bandits as presidents... |
forgiveness:My emphasis is on off the ball movement... |
forgiveness:Taiwo Awoniyi is a "Center forward or forward" not a striker, although he sometimes can play as a striker... Check the difference between a Center forward and a Striker... Once again, the Only Solid Striker Nigeria can call on currently, is Odion Ighalo. Now you said; Awoniyi's ball movement created space yes! That's correct because he is a Ball carrying forward, and that's what he is supposed to do, a true striker on the other hand would create space, with off the ball movement basically influencing the defensive line of the opposition by literally playing off the shoulders of opposition centerbacks, and get this, Without the ball that is a classic strikers Job ... Check what Harry Kane does or Lewandowski they don't ball carry, infact they barely run around the flanks, however they make very intelligent movements that force the defensive line to drop deeper... Those off the ball movements strikers make without getting into offside positions is actually what is everything... FYI if you generate a heat map for Awoniyi today, you would notice he was receiving the balls more outside the penalty area and driving it to the penalty area or flanks, that stat already disqualifies his off the ball movement as a striker. He is a good Center forward though. |
Egypt were outplayed period... The game was just too fast and physical for the Egyptians. Mo Salah was literally marked by three people in that game. However if the Eagles face an equally fast and physical team, the technical deficiency of the Eagles will be exposed. I am worried about the #9 situation. There is nobody on that team who is a traditional #9 Striker. I wish Tammy Abraham was part of this team... a Tammy Abraham(ST) and Victor Oshimen(CF) pairing would have been frightening. If wishes were horses though... But for the moment, they are doing well |
It still tortures me on Various levels to know that the reason why a man is to be voted as a potential president of Nigeria is because he is referred to a "Jagaban" Frankly speaking, assuming he is elected president, what significant progressive thing are people expecting from him?? are we expecting him to magically understand the concepts of National macroeconomics or International relations or Natural resources or common wealth or security fundamentals in 4 years despite the fact he has no knowledge or experience in those areas... As far as I am concerned a majority of Nigerians won't mind voting an area boy as president. In some countries a CV is required on critical areas before an individual is cleared to run for a presidential position... Can't people see that times are changing and currently it would make a lot of sense if a person with critical reasoning on a wide variety of sectors is elected as president? When will Nigerians actually wake up? Nevermind, I almost forgot that; "in the Jungle, the Jagaban is the king of all animals" |
smallsmall:To be honest this team has good forwards but lacks a natural #9 striker... This is the reason why despite all the available talent, a name like Ighalo keeps coming up. A #9's job is not just about scoring but by constantly exploiting the half space between the two center-backs, while playing with his back to goal. Doing that poaching movement effectively, will make the opposition's defensive Midfielders to drop deeper automatically and thus create space for the second striker or attacking Midfielder to operate. Nobody was doing that in this game... all the players are ball carriers (speed reliant or dribblers), which is a technical deficiency in a team, if everyone is just a speedy ball carrier. The good thing is that Eguavoen played according to the strengths of this team, he used the teams speed and ball carrying to his advantage, basically everybody attacked, and everybody defended. But Ideally, The super eagles need's a traditional #9 (Basically technical movement that can force opposition center-backs and clinical finishing for chances created) not just a ball carrying forward. Moses Simon is fast but not Technical... he was able to beat defenders but his choices after beating a player were poor. Chuwueze would function more if a Number 9 could make movements that would give him more space, he did well but he didn't have a performance that we know he can deliver. Ndidi is just a Legend! I don't want anything more or anything less from him at AFCON. I was Impressed with Okoye's distribution in this game... however he wasn't tested so I can't say much about his actual save rate. Regardless he has a clean sheet. Zaidu and Ola Aina were solid, attack participation and defence duty were checked. Troost needs to maintain this form, he was completely solid and made no errors. Omeruo was solid, but his injury... I hope he is OK. Ejuke needs more play time, and if he is given more playing time he needs to be encouraged to cross often when he makes those defense splitting runs. I am of the Opinion that Iheanacho should work more on his (Right) weaker foot, some opportunities he had should have been with his weaker foot. Joe Aribo pairs well with Ndidi... We won't get the best out of Iwobi if there is no proper #9 I expect Nwakali to have more playing time Awoniyi although a good ball carrying center forward, is not a traditional 9, (His "off the ball movements" tell the story) however he pairs well with Iheanacho. My overall analysis is that this team has a lot of talent but also a major technical issue, however I like the fact that Unlike Rohr who would have stuck to a default system despite the technical problem, Eguavoen played to the strengths of the players he has. for example regardless of the fact you are a defender, if you have the speed to sprint up and shoot and sprint back quickly to defend, oya then Do it! and they did it well.... ![]() |
Although I am tempted to say Moses Simon, but Wilfred Ndidi was really a technical disruption for the Egyptians... if you look well and see what Ndidi was doing to the Egyptian play then you'd give him the man of the match clearly. |
GodIsBiafran:You are very right! Who else noticed Maduka Okoye's kick distribution has improved noticeably. Ndidi is an outright legend! I was impressed with Ola Ainas pace, considering the fact he is usually not a right back. However it is very clear that the super eagles have no natural number 9, the current players in that position are all make shift 9's or forwards. |
I have said it and I will still say it... apart from Odion Ighalo, Nigeria lacks a traditional #9. This should be the main world cup assignment for the next coach discover a true 9. |
BBBmall25:And this folks, is the reason why a person wants to vote Tinubu for president ... SMH |
The funny thing is, he will still have erections so errrrh |
To be honest I would vote this man... I can see some posts saying that; The man looted, The man is from the east, it's not time for the east yet blah, blah... All these posts make it very clear that "Most Nigerians", have an obvious problem. Due to collective hatred and flimsy sentiments based on religion or ethnic arrangement, "Most Nigerians" now lack common sense. In Civic education, sound democracy is made up of two elements; (Leaders and Followers), apparently "Most Nigerian's" are so focused on the ills of Leadership, that the ills of followership is overlooked. Why can't followers use Common Sense to vote in a leader in Nigeria?? (and that's the main reason Buhari did a second term). It's obvious to see that Nigeria needs a fresh leader, however "Most Nigerians" will deliberately still vote for one of these old Cargo's again to come and keep repeating this cycle of Leadership and then expect a monkey to suddenly develop wings... that's what is sooo frustrating. Even if this man looted, or even if he is from the "East-Middle-Eastern-East", even if the east have not reached their turn etc... If a Presidential Candidate like this shows up alongside the regular Old Cargo's can't most people use common sense anymore? Just imagine a situation where there is Atiku, Tinubu and this man running and people deliberately vote for Tinubu or Atiku... cant you already see that first of all the voters already have a problem?? I remember once asking someone "Give me a solid reason why Tinubu should be president?" and his response was "Because he is the Jagaban"... Just imagine How can people be voting for mere sentiment in these critical times that call for urgent restructuring... Have people actually listened to this man's blueprint for Nigeria before? or what they rather listen to is ethnic placement, timing or partisan representation? Regardless of anything, in a population of 200Million if more than 100Million people agree to vote with common sense, won't the direction of Nigeria change from - to + ?? To be honest I am sick and tired of Nigerian's voting based on political parties, or because of religious sentiment, ethnic sentiment... I am actually appealing to the common sense of "Most Nigerians" to vote for an actual person that is not the usual fixture. The man does'nt have to be perfect, he just needs to present the best option... and this guy clearly has it comparing him to the "usual old cargo's" |

Coutinho, the luckiest player when it comes to having the best loan deals... For every loan there is a trophy attached and a huge financial benefit. The gods of football transfer loans are with this guy |
everythinggirly:I would like to know if you are conversant with using "R" or SaaS specifically "R"... I wanted to shoot you an email so we could discuss, however you haven't given me the permission yet... Please let me know |
My happiness is that, I can now call a sane country mine... Nigeria can keep up their drama |
But this is what we are looking for na?? ![]() This is actually the situation most of us want... |
I laugh in Machine language... if this is democracy to that Baba, then there's no point at all. |
This man... nobody annoys me to the bone as this man. |
Sunday2021:So Ipob literally jumped out of the blues and started clamouring for seccession without a reason? Right from the get go, if there was Dialogue between the east and the federal government, nobody would have heard anything like bîăfŕá today. Force gave birth to all these problems today and force will only create more problems... This is why Dialogue is always the way forward. |
everythinggirly:Please, I would like us discuss... If you don't mind, can I shoot you an email? |
Modernizer:I am a strong advocate of community education as well as facilitating the family as the first unit of socialisation in any community. The role of the family as an agent of socialisation is indeed crucial. If families are properly addressed, they will inject properly trained children into the society, which will inturn reduce a great number of societal vices, thereby eradicating a lot of some unnecessary laws the government creates to combat these societal vices. This VAPP law or whatever it is, was brought up because of a societal problem... if the problem didn't exist there would be no need for it... |
BeeBeeOoh:After 7years, what have you done about it? |
Gemid94:Wow... like wow. The sad part about all this, is the fact that after this torture that this current old man would have unleashed to people within a period of 8years, a certain Tin-oubu, will comfortably waltz unto the scene to gather votes for his own 8years and millions of people, emphasis on "young educated people" will vote him in (hailing him as Baba/Jagaban/etc)... The circle of Torture continues. Yet Nigerians yearn for change... Nope! change is Never coming at this pace. Nigerians should just keep up the practice of enjoying their long train of ethnocentric Baba's who will keep on coming... Nawnzens and ingredients... |
This current President is a very sad excuse for leadership... Very Sad. And It's even more sad, because the masses have no idea of what a good presidential administration looks like, due to how this one has oppressed their mindsets. And I am sure people don't even believe that things can actually get better anymore... Just sad |
pquaver:I am not speaking about just a particular set of people. If you asked Buhari about that Sunday Ibogho guy, he would respond in exactly the same way... now that Iron fisted totalitarian approach in handling situations like this where people express dissatisfaction is what I am pointing at. I am referring to how disgruntled groups in general are treated under this president. And that my brother is not what democracy is about. Did you follow how BREXIT occurred? That's an example of what democracy should look like |
MelesZenawi:Your comment surprises me... because it lacks depth when it comes to democracy. Indirectly you are supporting the statement that there is no political solution to people groups who express dissatisfaction to marginalisation. This is why I find it amusing when people don't realise totalitarianism which is under the guise of democracy in Nigeria, has crippled the mindsets of people so as not to understand thousands of peaceful ways to conflict resolutions. Sad |
Social Engineering remains the best... There's someone you know, who knows someone... that you or she would want to know. It's very reliable and most of all free, as compared to reviewed dating sites. My suggestion |
