Maybe they feel perhaps she could undo the effect of some deliberate harsh economic pressure on some nations balls... I.e Iran |
If Buhari resigns now, will the world end? Why can't that Pa just resign and peacefully tend to his cows? He can chew his goro and read papers as long as he likes and nobody will bother him, even if he farts in public but for goodness sakes he should resign... He will be forever respected just like Goodluck Jonathan if he resigns... |
favelli:Canada's immigration process may be stressful, but it is rewarding if you follow it up diligently. You could also try schooling in Germany or France... check out the travel page on Nairaland as regards to information on Schooling in Germany or France. |
favelli:Bro, just mention a place at heart, if it is a feasible destination, I will advise you on the right steps to take. |
kheny12:Bro home is where your heart is at rest... |
Kokaine:But it is possible |
kheny12:Any where that guarantees a new beginning, anywhere than Nigeria currently |
To all the hardworking Nigerians out there, this is a public service announcement; Please I encourage you to migrate... It doesn't matter what you'd be leaving behind, just leave that country behind and adopt another one, don't be afraid to start afresh. |
themaestro08:That's true! Switzerland and Liechtenstein are both German speaking countries... Luxembourg too. But I deliberately left out Switzerland due to the fact that they are not in the EU and so using a German/EU residency to land a job would entail a rather lengthy process. As for Liechtenstein, due to the size of the country they are quite a Homogeneous bunch, so landing a regular professional job there without a residency permit from their government is also quite complicated. However it's still possible to land jobs there, but the process is not straightforward in Switzerlandand and Liechtenstein. |
Spot on... You forgot to include the Messi Dilemma. Sometimes it seems he's playing to just do his job, passion seems lost |
GallantDuke:Maybe she's just lost her touch of English... No time for English, too much German ![]() |
Basalt:Your friend has told you all you need to hear and all you need to know... Because if you have said a home return is out of the question, then start giving yourself a stronger base over there, you can always get a land when you are properly situated... I have a couple of questions for you; 1-How good is your German on a scale of 1-10? 2- would you like to stay long term in Germany? I asked you those questions because if your answer to question(2) is yes, then you need to heavily and I mean "heavily" work on your German language skills, the moment you can rate yourself a 7 out of 10, you would not need IT skills/certifications to land your self a job in Germany... getting a job in Germany quickly, to a large extent depends on your German language skills. Infact once you have a German diploma and can speak German proficiently, you may not even need that extra 18 months, because you would most likely find a job before the expiration of your student Aufenthaltstitel. Take note job hunting as a German diploma holder and German speaker, is not limited to Germany alone... Austria is well in the hoop too! |
Of course it's Bu's Nigeria! Das how it rolls |
Petyprincess:Don't be too quick to conclude.. My old girl told me in the late 70s/80s when she went to school, the US Dollar was literally half of the Naira. I.e 1naira= 2USD ... Yes, Nigeria was considered a very very rich country back then. Secondly no African felt that comfortable in the US around the 70's/ 80's because there was still an unfair atmosphere/attitude to people of African descent, the civil rights movement of MLK literally just ended...so why bother staying in a country where you were subject to racial inequality at the time when Nigeria was alot better? Thirdly the US then was not even an attractive immigration destination in the 70's/80's, especially for a black person(black people were not even allowed into some places-segregation was still common) ... not to talk of Canada lol , old girl called Canada an expensive ice skating rink. She constantly stated that there were no jobs in Canada in the 70's, plus their economy was very bad due to crazy inflation... so how they have jobs everywhere now is still a mystery to her. She immediately turned down a job offer in Alaska when she graduated, her reason was; "Is she crazy? to work in a "deep freezer" looking out for Polar bears every second, when her country had the best weather in the world?" ... Fourthly she mentioned in the 70's if a foreigner below 18 years came to the US and stayed for about 4-5 years(which was usually the duration of a bachelors degree), he or she was eligible for citizenship, So the op is most likely saying the truth about his father especially if he went for a bachelors degree. She concluded by saying Nigerians who ended up staying back in the US after schooling back in the 70's were probably; 1. those who were severely affected by the Biafran war and thought it best not to return 2. those who got romantically attached, I.e either got married to an American who was not approved by their family, either impregnated an American lady or a fellow immigrant student...or got pregnant and were ashamed to come back to Nigeria. "Shame" in our parents days, was a big deal apparently. (So you can imagine what runs through their minds when they watch Big BrotherNigeria )3.those who did not graduate from university especially after being funded heavily by Nigerian scholarships (a classic case of her friend who was sent to study medicine but dropped out and later switched to nursing which was considered a "nonsensical course" in Nigeria back then) those bunch, were tagged as truants and a disgrace to the Nigerian society. 4. those who adopted "bad American habits" that were too embarrassing to return home with. E.g doing drugs, etc... you don't need anyone to tell you that the moral standards in Nigeria back in those days of our parents were insanely high. 5. Those who were naturally crazy/daring, looking for adventure and independence from culture and traditions, basically-the Black sheep of families in other words; those whose families had labelled them as "outcasts" right from day-1 (a friends dad who is Nigerian often tells his ironic story of how his family sent him to America to study as a tactic to separate him from his friends who were influencing him "negatively" ... he caught up with them in the US shortly after, because his friends families also had the same idea , in the end it was a fail... they chose to remain in the US and become pimps literally )However most Nigerians who went to school in the US back then, mostly returned because Nigeria was actually very prosperous. Jobs, welfare, organization etc... P.S She said American Universities were very easy to get into as a Nigerian, because the Nigerian education system was directly equivalent to British education standards, which was far thorough and had a classic background as compared to American education standards back then. So it was more prestigious to go to a British University than an American University/college in the 70's. Which of course were harder to get into. |
Dijita:Your answers were very detailed, however question 3 was very straightforward, you weren't asked to explain the difference between an impeachment and summon, it was; can a president be summoned by legislature; yes or no...? |
plaindealer:My argument is the boldened emphasis on my first quote from your statement that; the legislature cannot summon the executive regarding the "use of power" I am sure by now you are smart enough to correct that statement. |
plaindealer:Please sir, You did not answer the questions. Two things but one point |
plaindealer:I have a couple of questions for you since we are delving into civic education... 1. Who begins the process of impeachment to the executive arm of government? b) on what grounds can impeachment be triggered? 2. The US runs a democratic government model, give a detailed analysis of the impeachment hearing against president Donald Trump on December 18 2019? b) list the proponents and list the accusations of the impeachment. 3. With the answers provided from 1 and 2 can a president be summoned by legislature, to answer to "use of power" in a Democratic model which Nigeria practices? |
In otherwords dictator-cracy... Naija in the final stages of One chance. I encourage everyone to consider migration. |
Geez adunno, maybe Boko Haram is a secular inspired uprising? I guess Nigeria has no religious clashes? Maybe the presidency knows better |
Eillyeillz:Mheen what are you talking about, what stats? Bro, Salah has not even finished competing with Mane and he's included on a "Player of a Century" award list?? Like guy, you sef reason matter na Like How can, or where do you even start comparing Salah to a player like R9(phenomenon) for example? What stats dyu want to use? Is it Ballon d'or stats or worldcup stats or what? How? But why?? |
crazygod:I have a question for you... between Salah and Sadio Mane, who is a more complete player? |
Salah ke? When did that one start sef? Oooh Lawwwwwwwd, look... infact I really hate nonsense... Player of the century award is up for grabs and Salah is on the list If a Liverpool player had to be mentioned why not leave it at St Gerrard? I personally rate Sadio Mane higher than Salah, so I really don't get it? How? Like, is this a joke?? |
This is all sorts of mental |
J111333:You hit the nail on the balls bro! When plates are run and the outcome is a notorious hood address and criminal records how dyu expect most police to address the situation... exactly, with a bit of some adrenaline and extra caution. However when plates are run and its an immigrant file that pops open with legit hussle that shows on your file, they literally know how to address you. Infact from your accent and how you speak they know how to categorise you- if you out there talking with ebonics and all that slang from the hood, police know how to treat your matter. The way I speak to police always brings out a professional response from them. Look African Americans from the hood, especially those crackhead fellas with their ratchet chics... aswear they aren't normal. I prefer dealing with white people or immigrants any day than most African Americans...especially from the hood. They crazy I tell you. Some things they do make me wonder if there are two African continents, because I can't relate to some forms of being African, despite being African myself. Check most of the locations of police brutality done to black Americans (although I strongly condemn police brutality) you realise its mostly in the projects or "the hood" rarely done in the suburbs, if done in the suburbs the victims are mostly from the hood. However there are still some racist police that target black folk tho I won't lie. #Edited After all the slap I don collect from Army, Mopol and SARS in Nigeria... please, I know how to adequately humble myself before any law enforcement this world has to offer. Infact they are usually amused by my level of humility, because I am professionally humble... I was asked to show ID once and I was like "Amen sir!" Brought out even receipts, profiled myself, invited him to church and before doing dobale(which they nearly died of laughter), gave him my pizza I had(appeasing the gods), which liver I get to resist police? if they even catch me sef, I will take broom and sweep police station that is before cooking egusi soup for all the police officers...mheen Naija humbled me seriously. ![]() |
Expresses shock.... na usual matter ![]() |
I think it would make sense if Nigeria hired foreign forces to combat boko haram. Because Nigeria doesn't have the capacity to. |
Nbotee:It seems you don't know that while at Antalyaspor, Eto was an interim manager... who went on to score 44goals. Imagine managing a club and still playing as the highest scoring striker. Eto to me was Africa's finest...no offence to Jay Jay Okocha |
