lexy2014:Then perhaps, you didn't understand my answer. |
lexy2014:Fyi, the only Natural American's are the native American Indians, other than that... there are no natural American's. The US is a country that rode on the back of immigration . |
Mma, you wasted time... You should have done this siiiiiince... if you did this, that world bank position of 2012 would have been yours. Anyway well done ma. Fact: for those who don't know, if she wanted to, she could have become an American citizen as far back as the 80's/90's. Her choosing to become a citizen of the US now is purely strategic... Her stronger alliance's and connection base are in the US and she can only maximize certain advantages fully if she was an American citizen. Just imagine the American government also putting weight on mama's bid for the wto position. |
SoccerUSA:Hey I couldn't just ignore this post... At first I wanted to be blunt and straight out savage in my response, but it ocured to me that your post was honest and sincere meaning you are not aware of certain realities that exist outside of Nigeria, especially outside African territory, so I decided to be very detailed in breaking down certain things for your understanding ... 1. Adjustment: moving to US means moving to a new way of life, new setting, system, culture, environment, norms and practices etc now these aforementioned factors differ starkly from what one is accustomed to in Nigeria, infact strongly sticking to Nigerian norms in US hinders one from integrating properly in the society and that makes one a cultural deviant and of course that blocks one out from opportunities inthe society ... so how can that be avoided? Simple... by adjustment, evolving to catch up, however the results turnout differently with different people, some completely reject the past and move on while others hold on to the past but still look forward. 2. New Associations: there's a saying, "bird's of a feather flock together" look, if you change location you are likely to build strong relationships with new people and these new people tend to make you see the world from their own view, now that has it's advantages and disadvantages... It's likely they move on with the progression of new association, leaving the old associations behind or pay less attention to old association as it is of less relevance. 3. The reality of being an immigrant: look, no matter how bad Nigeria is, you can never be an immigrant in your own country, you still enjoy specific "privilege". However in the US as an immigrant, it's not the same... firstly you have to bust your butt 24/7 to keep your head above water, you see these things called bills? They are real, and they can end up haunting you, especially if one just arrived and one is still trying to figure it out. Your friends may not tell you of some jobs they are doing just to stay afloat, honestly some jobs that they may have looked down on in Nigeria could be what they do on the regular and they may not have that state of mind to keep up communication with you, because you have no idea of what they are going through... then again maybe they left to the US on a visit visa and the reality of being illegal has caught up... infact ... bros let's stop the explanation on this immigrant life, just know that being an immigrant anywhere in the world is not an easy thing, not many people make it out in one piece at the end of the day... and this point is actually the most important point. 4. Time difference: this may seem like a little reason but bro it creeps up on you trust me... especially when one is working hard to pay them bills. Being in some parts of the US puts you 6, 7 or 8hrs off Nigerian time and that really just knocks it to you at the end of the day that, you live on different worlds. Now some people come to that reality and move on, while others may still hold on to the home team, look it varies across different people but it is a real condition. Relationships have ended due to the reality that time difference is actually a spatial separation. 5. "The Naija factor": I had to put this here because I ain't gonna lie, once one leaves Nigeria, the problems of Nigeria become very visible, appalling and disgusting when viewed from another country (I call it the enlightenment phase) especially in a system where everything works, in fact you ask yourself how you got stuck in a backward oriented system for so long... some people respond by totally alienating themselves from Nigeria or anything that has to do with Nigeria ... including people. Sad, but true. 6. Cultural struggles: This one right here is real... it first hits you when you realize in the U.S. that your accent in a language you thought yourself fluent in, is un-understandable... some people take in that fact very hard, like they literally go through socialization again just to straighten out their accents, sometimes even food becomes a difficult situation, because some people are not used to American food, others literally bump into boyfriends or girlfriends that culturally format them... in essence, people stop associations with people who don't help them in achieving social integration etc so the response level for different people varies 7. Education and training: Nothing is as enlightening as education, and trust me that is usually obtained in the US quickly, merely living in the American society educates you. Once one becomes enlightened, old habits tend to be dropped, including old friends with old habits... the only thing that solves this particular point is if you are also updating yourself with a similar sort of education or training that enlightens you on the same level, otherwise a gap too wide on that regard, is a gulf indeed. There are many other reasons but I decided to pick a few major ones to let you know why your stated instance happens mostly. |

I think Dybala is the closest alternative if one considers play similarities, they are both left footed, play the same position, love free roaming roles, good set piece takers and he has similar movements to Messi, however the difference lies in tactical and spatial awareness, of which Messi has a unique football brain... that is really what sets him apart from all players, so when it comes to assists and all round creativity I don't think Dybala would bring out those insane numbers Messi created season after season.... in fact, this is when we are going to see clearly that those numbers Messi and CR7 casually pulled out in la Liga were not normal, we may not see feats like that again in a loooooooooong time. I hope we enjoyed them when they were around? Neymar is a different breed of player entirely, he is very Dynamic and his Brazilian flair makes him have the same features that Ronaldinho had but he is not an ideal Messi alternative. |
Every song he sang was good ol gold... period |
He has failed on everything... |
Naaaah no impact, France can replace that guy with more than 6 players comfortably. The French squad is too stacked, except for all out CF |

DrayZee:Barcelona was not replacing players unlike Madrid who was replacing vacant positions. Just imagine Dembele, who was presumably Neymars replacement has problems even fitting in. Sergio Busquets, Pique and to make matters worse even puyol till today never had a fitting replacement. Xavi and Iniesta no replacement, to imagine that Thiago Alcantara who could have replaced Xavi was sold made me wonder what was going on in Barcelona ?? Barcelona made useless spendings on Kevin Prince Boateng, Braithwaite and recently Pjanic? Who were they replacing? Coutinhos case is still the most baffling one, Griezman was bought and alienated. Barca never spent money on a quality CB, Alphoso Davies could have been bought by Barcelona but that same Barthomeu guy said he didn't want Canadians... Adama Traore was a La Masia graduate, but he was kicked out because of the same problems, he was not allowed to develop in the system... today look at him at Wolves. Messi, In all fairness had long been advocating for recycling the team since the Barcelona academy La Masia was not producing any talent however he was ignored, because they felt Ansu Fati was the answer. Abidal complained about The same thing but that same Barthomeu guy shut him up. Aswear Barcelona's problems run deep. It's like they get players because the board likes them not because they play well. |
He left out the part where the admission agent's tell lies just to fleece students |
Anh ah, na normal thing for USA na, abeg give us something new... I have stopped arguing about these "US issues" because they are the norm, more are happening as we speak and much more will happen in the future. So let's move on. |
Oga is the restructuring not going to begin from the presidency? See missy trouble o |
Schooling as a Native English speaker in France has it's unique frustrations, most especially as a researcher... it gets better as your French gets better, otherwise naaaah it's not an easy task, the French academic system is not just tough but nerve wracking. Just imagine the pure torture of finding material to do research in a French library, or Journals... or the dreaded phase of a research internship in a public establishment, good heavens! What people don't tell you is finding academic material in English from Journals and Libraries for data collection especially in specialized areas in France, is almost like climbing mount Everest without an oxygen tank. Special Shout out to Google translate for saving lives. To make matters worse after even struggling to learn the French language you realize that there are some regions like Marseille where the French accent makes French sound like something else. You feel like absolutely giving up sometimes. A colleague of mine did a research internship in Marseille for some months and when we last met, can you believe this guy has literally forgotten how to speak English straight, he was slipping several times and I found it very amusing... then he told me the stress he was going through. Schooling in France especially for a graduate degree is not for the faint of heart, though it is worth it, but if you are not prepared for a nerve wracking experience please go to an English speaking country and do your studies in peace. |
This question of yours is really funny indeed... Bruv, The truth is: if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. |

If Messi was playing in CR7's stead "in this current Juventus squad", mheeen that's when we would see that CR7's is indeed a special player. Honestly why can't people just appreciate the talent CR7 is, especially now he is still playing? To me I even think it was unfair for Juventus to have won the serie A, because that team was extremely fractured, I.e No striker, no true wingers, no wing backs and most importantly... no midfielders, however despite the deficiency Dybala and CR7 carried Juve on their backs literally, with CR7 having an impressive haul of goals... like he literally physically hussled for goals so the team could win. For Pete's Sakes which 35year old is doing that at that level consistently? Just imagine if CR7 was in a team like Bayern Munich, or replace Firminho with CR7 in Liverpool, where he was getting proper service from a dynamic midfield... seriously. |
Mogajunior:Nope I disagree, in fact if you noticed, Juves team was built around Dybala, until injury struck. It was very clear Dybala was the explosive device in the Juve team, however CR7 tried his best. Secondly this Juves team main problem was Higuain, he was the only out and out striker but he was completely out gas. How Sarri, didn't respond to this earlier is what bothered me... this resulted in CR7 and Dybala to do irrelevant experiments in positions. Just imagine if Juve had a player like Lukaku instead of Higuain... Thirdly the pure wingers and Winbacks, Douglas costa has no replacement Sarri knew this but took gambles, I was shocked to see an attack minded Cuadrado used as a right back, then Bentacur played right of the midfield... that's when I knew Sarri was off. Fourth Juve has no creative midfielder which is very annoying. Dybala was literally overworked because in most games he assumed that responsibility, and for goodness sakes in such games he was the striker, like I was really hoping Sarri would get a "Pogba like" midfielder. In fact for CR7 to have scored the goals he scored this season in this current Juve squad, is nothing short of impressive. Because subtract penalties from 31, does that not speak volumes? How many goals did Higuain score? |
Just realized that the current Nigerian squad has more of offensive players than defensive players. |
And how did that go for all those mentioned? |
traveluk:Bro, it depends on what you plan to hustle and how long you plan on hustling. Europe has its pros and cons so does the America's. Pick the location that matches your skill set and plan. |

I just want to use this space to say; fellow Nigerians, everything will be all right ![]() |
Ernchibyke:I am a die hard CR7 fan, however CR7 is not a dribbler these days, he is more of a shoot/score player now, so he focuses on play that tees up shots in and out the box. Dybala even has a higher dribble ratio than him. CR7's game evolved a long time ago. |
