Not quite an easy one . Since you are a Christian, just tell God to help you love him and be attracted to him if he's the right man for you. Sometimes, people do not get to like certain persons at first but overtime , they become friends and in some cases , best friends. Just take your time about it. Do not be in a hurry calling it off .

Don’t see the post in a negative way, I just want some clarification and ways a relationship can blossom around 100k. Please kindly share your analysis
that's because you see relationship as a means to finance your bill as an adult. Marriage has become a strategy for most ladies in escaping responsibility for their financial needs. If the man has been living on his 100k and you have been financing your bills as a single adult, why can't both of you live as a couple and still do fine? The problem comes when the couple rather than synergizing to improve their finances start birthing kids which further puts strain on their finances and they continue in their struggle.

If they like, they should vote in bad leadership by playing to ethnic sentiments. The effect of bad leadership doesn't recognize ethnicity or religion. Everyone gets to suffer. These are the cards these politicians have been playing to have their way into power and nigerians that would fall for such are irredeemably foolish. This administration should have taught everyone a distasteful lesson to learn from.

Hello doctor. So my older brother was shot in his eyes and other parts of the body some weeks ago. He was initially at lasuth but we later moved him to reddington hospital where he is presently receiving treatment. We were told by the optamologist that they couldn't see lights atall from the both eyes. And that this means that his possibility of ever seeing again with the eyes is very slim. Please can you advise on what can be done for him to regain at least one of eyes back? Thank you so much sir.
i am really sorry about your brother's ordeal. His visual acuity as 'no light perception ' means your brother cannot perceive light . I am sorry, it's gonna be a miracle if you believe in one for your brother to see again. You guys should be strong for him and encourage him through this challenging time . I understand it is likewise a difficult situation for his family and loved ones but God's grace is sufficient if you believe in one . All the best and be strong

Tinubu's decision to run for the presidential seat isn't borne out of the desire to serve or rescue nigerians from the present mess ( which he is a beneficiary ) but rather a personal ambition of prestige in having a feel of what it's like to attain the highest political office. He's not going there with a burden to save nigeria as he has never been so much concerned about the ills in the nation ( notice he has been silent on so many critical issues before now ) . Getting into power, he's wouldn't use competence in selecting his team but rather , selection would be used for a reward system to those that helped him achieve his personal ambition. How can you see a person with the many baggage and still consider him for presidency if you really are a patriot? his show of desperation is a big red flag aside his other baggages .

Can't be too sure? You could easily deduct these facts from the report.
And yes, exploitation is wrong. But I bet she never saw it as an exploitation when she was told to come to the UK and be a house help; she probably thought it was a prayer answered. It's a common thing where some Nigerian villagers would take the opportunity to come to a Nigerian city to work as house helps. It's very unfortunate, I know. But life itself isn't fair, bro.

You think she was exploited due to ignorance? She is 33 years old, bro. She agreed to work for them because she doesn't want to go back to Nigeria with her former Nigerian employers. Her visa was probably tied to her employers. She knew exactly what she was doing. However, I'm not saying that what the couple did was right. That's why I said "it's all shades grey"...
we cannot be too sure of this; whatever the case may be, exploitation should never be excused. Taking advantage of people's situation in an unfair manner is very wrong

"It doesn't matter what she agreed to". My point exactly. Considering that it was categorically stated that there was no form of abuse, and she willingly stayed back in North Ireland to work for them while they took care of her (clothing, food and housing) and sent some money to her family in Nigeria. I'm not saying that it was fair enough. It's just all shades of grey.
one is being exploited however due to ignorance and you see nothing wrong in it so long as the person willingly agrees? This is wickedness aside the fact that it is illegal in the country they are resident in.

The question should be how many of the infrastructures have been completed and/or were budgeted for and you can't tell me that the Lagos - Ibadan rail has been giving returns on the economy as people are being employed and business around the stations are booming.

My question to you now is how did human capital development effect the economy of Anambra state while PO was Governor.
what are you saying please? If i get u, Now , the excuse is that they are yet to be completed ? For those completed and bringing in returns, in comparison to the amount invested, would you say it was worth it? Please know i am not against infrastructural development but the current administration shouldn't refer to that as a pointer for good performance .

The raw materials used to construct the roads to the farm are they not imported?

like I wonder how you people think. In the case of agriculture how do you expect to export the goods you get without a cargo airport isn't that an infrastructure?

There is no an economy would grow without infrastructure already in place and I know you know this. Companies that left Nigeria to Ghana did that because Nigeria don't have the needed infrastructure.
1) No power supply and the price of diesel was high which would result in increase in cost of production.
2) What about refinery if we had a working refinery, we would make more money.

I can keep on going on and on

Infrastructure comes before the growth of an economy.

And I know you guys know this but just want to keep defending him.
my question to you is with all the chant on the infrastructure being put in place by this administration, what has it yielded? Should we give it to them as a point in governance? I am not sure peter obi was against building infrastructures . He feels the money if channeled to other aspect of the economy at the point in time would have yielded better results and impact

Imagine a country with no airport, no good roads, no refinery, no school and you are saying the economy would grow when we are not in the stone age.

Don't bring inflated price of as an excuse because the argument is about infrastructure being important in developing an economy.
I am not saying infrastructures ain't important in driving economic growth but this administration misfired in the execution of their projects .

But PO didn't make Anambra so rich the money he saved has been used to build airport and that's all

How would you grow an economy without infrastructure would a company site it's company if the roads are bad and the power supply you mentioned isn't that also an infrastructure?

Nigeria should be cashing out from gas sales now assuming it has the infrastructure on ground for exploration but we don't have that's why we haven't been able to sell our gas to foreign countries.

Infrastructure comes first before an economy can grow construct roads, generate and supply enough power and the economy would grow.
no body says infrastructure isn't required for economic growth but doing the right things the right way and at the right time is important aswell else you may not get the right results

i guess the so called infrastructures being referenced here have significantly impacted nigeria's economy or are we yet to realize the impact? Infrastructures whose costs of execution were exorbitantly inflated and worse still the monies for the projects were borrowed

Let me give you just one. Forget about three, that will lead to arguments. The number one problem facing us is the design and structure of the country. We all blame leadership which is correct, but the kind leaders we have is a result of the structural design of the country. If you change the structure of the country, a different kind of leaders will emerge because they will be rewarded differently.

So I ask you again, who will you hire to be the CEO of your company and based on what criteria?
the major reason for the agitation is because our differences have been weaponized by the political class but that aside, you 'll agree with me that if majority are living fine and are productively engaged, and engagement to positions are based on merit and ability to perform, much relevance would not be paid to our ethnic differences. For instance , if a hausa man is placed to head an office and is doing fine and efficient in his position, i as an igbo or yoruba man would be less concerned on where he's from. .Based on antecedence, do you agree that if a person like tinubu ascends power, his appointments would be based on loyalty and a reward for such/support rather than competence? This itself has been the reason for weak institutional performance in this country and you see that we would make little or no progress with such . I would pick peter obi assuming nigeria as my private company because he's the best candidate to fix the problems bedeviling nigeria of which the top 3 that makes my list are 1) poor economic performance i.e he's a trained economist with several certifications and experiences and better equipped in comparison to other candidates 2) unaccountability and wastage of countries financial resources : he's one that's not wasteful and wouldn't allow a free rein for looters and would likely block off avenues for looting and hence more resources available to engage projects 3) weak institutions and corruption : the other 2 have allegations of corruption hanging around them and are known beneficiaries of the existing system and i would not expect them to go against a system that's been designed to benefit them and their allies . Peter obi in this regard is a better candidate than the others . The other two are better politicians no doubt but what nigeria needs is genuine leadership and i ll pick peter obi over the other two .

TooNoisy:
It is interesting you bring this up. I hire senior people everyday and you need to understand the criteria for hiring leaders. So let's say you want to hire the CEO of an organisation with 10,000 staff. The organisation is huge, with branches across Africa, and with very senior people who are also very well paid. If you are interviewing for a new CEO, the first thing you ask is this question- HAVE YOU EVER MANAGED A LARGE ORGANISATION BEFORE IN MULTIPLE COUNTRIES?

Of course the ideal cadidate does not necessarily have to have managed an organisation with 10,000 people in multiple countries, but you will expect the person to have managed an organisation with 500 people and should have had exposure to other African countries. You will not hand over the company to an individual who has only managed a shop of 20 people because he interviewed well.

The second question you want to ask is his ability to develop and manage leaders. When you have such big organisations, one man cannot handle all the tasks. He will rely of leaders and he must be able to manage them. He needs to be able to chose his team of winners whom he will delegate responsibility to. He is not expected to do everything by himself. So I want to know and understand the candidates ability to select and manage leaders within the organisation.

The third thing will be his understanding of our values and culture. Can he fit into the culture. Can he manage the various stakeholders. Will he be accepted across board. Will majority of the people buy into his vision. He must be able to fit into our company culture and can he change the current culture, because the current culture needs improvement.

Let me stop here and let us rate the candidates on these criteria. The company is Nigeria, a country with 200million people, very diverse population and the largest economy in Africa. Lets rank the candidates.

Criteria 1 - Has the candidate managed a similar sized country?
- Tinubu has managed the 5th largest economy in Africa, very diverse population and 25million people.
- Kwankwaso has managed the second largest State by population 20million, very diverse and the fifth largest economy in Nigeria
- Peter Obi has managed a relatively small State (5million people), non-diverse population and very small economy.
- Atiku has been Vice the President of the same country for 8 years. Atiku had effectively been the deputy CEO running the affairs of the country with the CEO.

Criteria 2- Ability to select, develop and manage people. Let us rank the candidates
-Tinubu has managed and developed several people to become governors, ministers, senators and even the sitting vice president.
- Atiku has developed many people including the governor of His state. He has also developed many people who have gone to become senators and reps.
- Kwankwaso has associates in many areas and positions. However, he has not mentored big names.
- Peter Obi has not mentioned any known big name. Has very few associates within the country.

3. Criteria 3- how will they fit into the culture of the company and can they influence stakeholders. This may be a bit tricky because we are also trying to change culture:
- Tinubu will fit into the current culture and can adequately manage stakeholders. He is open to changing some parts of our current culture include restructuring, devolution of powers, state police, vat collection.
- Kwankwaso will fit into the current structure and will likely maintain the structure as is. He may struggle to manage the various stakeholders due to his limited acceptability in the South.
- Atiku will fit into the current culture but may change a few things like privatisation. He may privatise NNPC, NLNG etc. He is not open to restructuring. He can easily manage the various stakeholders.
-Peter Obi will struggle to manage the various stakeholders due to his limited acceptability in the North. He has said he plans to change the culture and that the culture is our biggest problem but he hasn't explained in detail how. What are his views on restructuring state police, vat collection, devolution of powers.

So I ask you, based on my analysis, who will you chose to be CEO of you company called Nigeria. Be honest. You are free to come up with tour own analysis.
i see your analysis but i'll like to engage you further. what do you think are the major problems nigeria is facing ? I know we have quite many but just give me the first 3 that makes your list

Epurogonogono:
Op just wants to argue with that young man just for the sake of argument.

If you are truly ready to vote for the right candidate, the questions you should be asking should be focused on the detailed plans the candidate has for Nigeria and see if they are realistic (not "I will ensure Nigeria has 24 hrs electricity within a year" and all those nonsense with no strategy).

You should also be asking of the candidate's track record of credibility, integrity and accountability.

To be honest, If Atiku had won the last election with Obi as vice, things would not be much different from the way it is now. We can see a classic example now, as Osinbajo, despite being a good candidate, can't really do much as he is just an assistant and not the one in charge. That's why Obi had to leave PDP, where he knew he would not emerge as the candidate.

As for the structure you mentioned. Well, you can see where that structure landed us to. Even with most of the NASS members being from the two major parties, you can see the situation of Nigeria today.
Why not try something new OP.
if these same people choosing atiku and tinubu over peter obi were asked to choose from the three candidates who should run their organization supposing they had one, over 99 percent of them would go for peter obi . Why do they bring in sentiments when it comes to matters of governance which affects us collectively ?

TooNoisy:
So as usual, one relatively young Peter Obi supporters came to ask me to become Obidient. He mentioned that PDP was the same with APC and we cannot vote both of them. He went on to say Atiku and Tinubu were too old and both don't mean well. The usual story. So I reminded him that he asked me to vote for Atiku in 2019, so I wanted to know what has changed. He went on the repeat the same things he started with and he mentioned Obi was the only one who could save Nigeria. So I asked three questions.

1. What if Atiku/Obi had won in 2019. Would he still be saying the same thing. So if Atiku/Obi ticket which he was pushing won in 2019, would he still be calling Atiku a thief and Obi a saint? His only response was that, we thank God that did not happen. So I asked him if he was wrong for pushing the Atiku/Obi ticket in 2019 and he had no answer.

2. I asked him if APC and PDP are that terrible, why should I vote for a man who has been in PDP for the past 7 years and only left a month ago. This same man was PDP vice presidential candidate when Atiku was sharing dollars in 2019 and he still wanted to be president under PDP up until one month ago when he realised he couldn't win. Again, he had no answer.

3. I asked him if Peter Obi miraculously won the election, and the NASS was controlled by APC or PDP. What does he think will happen next? It will be very clear Peter Obi wouldn't get anything done because he will have a very antagonistic NASS. Labour Party does not have candidates in 80% of the NASS positions and will barely get any senators or reps. So if the NASS is controlled by APC/PDP, then Peter Obi will either get impeached or join the APC./PDP. Labour Party has no structure, no representation, it is a one man show. Peter Obi will probably decamp again to PDP or else get impeached. Again he had no answer.

So he agreed to get back to me when he had the answers to these three questions. May be some Peter Obi supporters on Nairaland have answers to these three questions. Lets wait and see.

Seun, Lalasticlala, Mynd44
the most important thing is getting the best man for the job. You cannot be repeating same thing and expect a different result . Let's try something different . Afterall, we have had presidents whose party had significant numbers in NASS but what has it benefited the masses? you only have them collude to preserve self interest and share the wealth of the country amongst themselves . Now i ask, Would you rather remain in the status quo than make an attempt to change the narrative ?
