there is no way an increase in VAT wouldn't have effect on prices of almost all goods and services in Nigeria where there isn't a price control system.. it's like a ripple effect ; even those that are not directly affected would see it as an opportunity to increase the prices of their goods and services and there's nothing u, me and d govt can do about it. this is Nigeria , need they b reminded

I'm unable to get in touch with the HMO due to the location of my station, so I went to an ophthalmologist who after cross examined my eye said I have eye ASLERGIC / ASGMATISM or something (I can't remember the term correctly). That I have some particles and scar in my eye, that though I see clearly but my eye stress to focus, that's what brought about the pain. He gave me eye drops and said there is need for pair glasses.

Hello Optm and other Eye Docs in the house, I need to know what steps to take about an eyelid twitching problem I have been experiencing for close to 3 weeks now.
Google described it as Myokymia and based on the description of the symptoms I guess it is correct because I only experience it on the left lower eyelid. I don't know how it all started but it became persistent at a point and also irritating. I wanted to see a doctor last weekend but I decided to wait to see if it will go away.
What can I do to make it go away? Is this normal?

yes . eye lid twiching could be as a result of a number of things including refractive error. u should visit an eye clinic to rule that out. if very severe, u could apply cold compress to the eyes to help . ensure u go for an eye exam

The pain was somehow sharp at the beginning but dull now, its usually come and go but it persistent today though the pain and headache is a very dull one. My vision is OK, I can still carry out my visual task just that seen letters at long distance is somehow/little bit blur unlike b4. The pain is mainly at the side and back of the head including the eyes. Hope am safe?

I will advice u go to an eye clinic for a thorough eye exam. a thorough history and examination would reveal the cause of the pain and headaches. the pain u re having has nothing to do with the incident of petrol entering your eye.

Good day drsteroid and other optm in the house, I started feeling this pain in my both eyes since last week which also made me have headache as well, it started day after i cleaned my bike and a dprolet of petrol splashed to my left eye. Though I've been to the hospital bout the test says its OK. The pain is still there. It became little bit subsided after taken a muscle relaxer drug. Optm. For a week now my right eye has been producing clear watery discharge. I was hoping it would stop without any treatment but it hasn't.
Instead it just comes and goes. Sometimes it gets worse when I'm outside in the open.

first, you should find out if they carry out such procedure there. wouldn't want to cal figures that I am not sure of; I think in a very few specialist eye clinic in Lagos , it should cost over half a million. not sure tho but make your findings from the centres u intend using

I want to believe what I have is photophobia after much browsing about it

I'm currently squinting cos I can't open my eyes clearly to see(hurts like hell)
Plus the headaches and drizziness. I can't stare at my systems and phones anylonger Even with the low brightness on my phone sef, it still hurts to stare.

I just need any name of hospital when I can get examine without spending much.
I want to believe that general/teaching hospitals aren't that expensive ..

If anyone knows of any private eye clinic or hospital that won't cut off my head in terms of fee, they should recommend for me please

hi dear. photophobia is not a disease but a symptom indicating a problem. only an eye care professional can tell what's wrong after examining your eyes. it's good you are on the course of seeking professional help. as for cost issue, I'll suggest u visit clinics around you and make enquiries for yourself or you could use the govt hospitals which may be cheaper . regards

crossed eye (strabismus ) can cause diplopia (double vision) . it is very necessary to get a detailed history about the crossed eye. is the crossed eye of recent onset? is it always crossed or occasionally? any other associated symptom? is there any known systemic disease you re managing? how old are you?.

Thanks for your reply. The blurry vision happens occasionally. My current glasses is about 2 years old now. I am 39years old. Reading the Bible or small lettered books are becoming difficult, I would close my eyes and open again to be able to read the small letters

oh I see. it is recommended you review ur prescription every 2 years. u have attained the age of presbyopia (38 years) where reading becomes difficult . although some persons may start experiencing this at an earlier age (say 35years) . you'll be needing a new pair of glasses (bifocal) to aid you to see both far and read small letters. do go to your doctor for an exam.

. there are very good eye clinics / hospitals across states in Nigeria. u may not actually be needing surgery except in a few cases. in summary , d treatment course is dependent on d cause of the diplopia . shalom

I am 28, no itching, no redness, for physical look, the eyes looks normal and okay. I do feel pain on the right eye, feels like a pain of a foriegn object or scratch on the right eye.

The vision is okay for the both eyes but its the sensation and the pain which feels like a foreign object or scratch that makes me blinks often

OK you may need to ensure it isn't ur eye lashes that's rubbing on ur eye. does ur eye water aswell?

I have been battling with a condition since last year august, it started with constant sensation of foriegn objects in my right eyes, it feels more like insects constantly entering my eyes and consequently a straight look at light became an issue for me and i also feel like there is a wound or a scratch on the surface of my right eye.
