jidegirl12:Kim was crying in one of the episodes that she just feels like she has lost the true meaning of what the marriage is all about. Her mother was more interested in hodling on to the Kardashian name because it is a money maker not that her daughter was feeling overwhelmed. I think Kim's mom can take some responsibility for this. Why go for something so big and obscene. Why not make it something more sacred. Nahhh. That will affect Kris' 10%. The sad part is that Kim is her mother's puppet. Her mother will tell her and Kim follows. I remember when she switched something that her mother had scheduled for her and her mother flew all the way to Newyork to pounce on her. Kim could not even talk. She almost seemed nervous. The fact is that she just likes to make everyone happy or at least not to be mad at her. I honestly believe that this will affect her negatively. I liked the banter between them and I liked to watch their businesses and how they incorporated it into their day to day life but this has left a sour taste in my mouth. |
Na wa oh |
Reminds me of the first time that I went to Nigeria with the boys. On 2 or three occassions when I was stuggling with my double stroller and trying to balance purse 2 overly excited children and everything else in a very public place (once or twice at airports and the other at a bank) the only people that came to my aid were white men. IN NIGERIA. lol. At the bank the man even held my 10 month old son while I tried to fix the wheel of the stroller. I thanked him with a smile but wondered why nobody not even the women thought to assist. It is not a big deal people wrestle with strollers everyday but I know for a fact that if I were at the mall or anywhere else and I saw a woman with a stroller or kids on both arms I will hold the door for her to walk through and when my kids were still young enough to need a stroller I even came to expect it in a way. I am wondering what the guy at the airport was thinking when he got out of line to help me. Was he thinking don't these people standing around have any sense. Nigerian women were probably thinking "this one no fit push stroller sef" and the men were probably thinking "yeye woman wey no fit carry two toddlers at the same time" lol. |
I found a huge green fly in my food once. I still feel sick when I think of it. Can't count the number of times I have eaten at that restaurant. It was huge and green and disgusting. A cockroach would have just totally messed with my head |
lol |
Okay the bra is perfectly fine but the G-string. Haba. Maybe he did not look at it just picked up something and it turned out to be a G-string |
stillwater:I agree. You learn to disappear. My mom was always looking for my trouble though |
So Mike Adenuga actually did menial work in the past. Oh Lawd. Poor man. he had to actually work No wonder he understands the value of N1. The person who says what they are taking is not enough does nto understand what it takes to make N1 so why will be not ask for more. Not suprised at all to learn that things were not handed to him ![]() |
I expect that Mike Adenuga's children will also have that sense of entitlement. I don't know much about those families but would be interested on the background of Mike Adenuga himself. I see no problem with giving your child the best education your money can buy. You are helping them lay a foundation for life. A good strong solid foundation. LOL Coogar I was being funny but I am truly feeling like this is twilight zone. See me swaeting over a 24 year old asking for money and you are even saying that even at 40. 40 ke. LOL |
That's okay your older siblings will sit on my side of the courtroom LOL |
ROTFLMAO. Coogar please stop drinking. At 34 ? She should even breastfeed him. After reading through your posts I have come to the conclusion that you do not believe what you are saying. So if it is a female you have readily admitted that an unlucky man would keep her and continue from where the parents stopped. Why is the man unlucky? Could it be because the parents have effectively raised a useless spoiled brat that cannot achieve anything on their own. Even if the father were to start a business for this person I can guarantee you it will fail unless the father not only starts the business but also runs the business. Do you think running a sucessful business is easier than finding a job. What in the world is this whole bloodline thing. This is why so many women in Nigeria are quietly the bread winners and a small bump in the road leaves the man useless to himself and the family. There is no mommy or daddy to bail him out and the wife has to now be the one to do it. With his false sense of entitlement he will also feel that he is entitled to be called man of the house even though all he does is drink and come back home at night. Well done sir. Up naija. I just want to point out that this is the mentality of many younger americans today. Back in the day it was not that way even in the US. That culture is also now slowly fading and it scares me. I would like to see how it was for the likes of Adenuga and Dangote. If their parents handed them everything or if they were taught from an early age to bust their asses and had nothing handed to them. It would really be very interesting to know this. This world is tough and you have to prepare your children for it. No matter how hard you meet every single one of their financial and material needs you will never be able to be there for them all the time. What happens in those moments were you cannot bail them out. You are right in one instance. I blame the mother of that 40 year old fool. She created that monster so let him keep stealing from her. When he has stolen everything he will then move to 419 and when he ends up in jail she will sell her wrapper to bail him out because afterall she is a mother and her job is never done |
To be honest I don't think I can drive in Nigeria. Thinking about it just fills me with dread |
jennykadry:Compared to your siblings I am sure they let you get away with more. I am sure if I asked your oldest sibling they will be like that one was the princess ![]() |
Blah Blah Blah. The first man is just an agbero. Even if he thinks his wife is the poop under his shoe does that mean he should not respect himself. Talking on the phone while your wife and children are panting over your luggage. Even if his wife is a mad woman. Foolish man. His wife should have fed him the phone |
Awww. So sweet. |
I am the middle child. Kind of. 2nd of 5. I agree that you kind of feel like the oldest one gets all this special things and the younger ones just get a free pass. It makes you tough though. The middle child tends to be sort of ignored so you just automatically figure out how to do for yourself. I think parents unconsciously ignore the middle child and it cuts across cultures, race, social status etc |
The first one I totally blame the woman. If I must I will pull my heavy luggage from the conveyor but when he is done yapping on the phone his luggage will still be on the belt waiting for him or stolen by someone else. The second one was very rude but you never know what happened. Maybe she was late and has a history of being late but I agree that he could have handled it better. Sometimes travel can be very stressful and we don't always act our best when we are stressed |
Hmm. So this is out of guilt. If she had two abortions then tha can definitely affect her ability to conceive especially when it is one of those illegal abortions done in someones boys quaters. It makes sense now why she does not want her husband to know that she is going for a check up. She has not told him that she had any abortions. I am not sure why you did not marry her since you knew you contributed to possibly destroying her womb. You have now made it another man's problem. Your friend should be patient. She will conceive I hope. I hope it is juts one of those things that happen and not as a result of any physical damage to her reproductive organs |
Over 100 dead. The police officer that was killed was muslim. This is political. I am not sure what can be done to save Nigeria. It is so frustrating. Do they want Nigeria to be another Afghanistan? What are the people in power afraid of. These are dead human bodies we are looking at |
I think I will slap Jenny now. You people heard her say I should slap the sleep out of her eye I agree Jenny. There are no absolutes. there is nothing that says that one technique of raising kids will definitely lead to the perfect outcome. I don't believe that a parents dumps their children after school. That is not what I meant. Afterall what is omugo about. We will always need our parents. It just irks me when I see an adult saying "what you gave me is not enough". I still insist that it is not my right to receive money from my parents. My parents responsibility was to meet my needs. If they wanted to do extra then fine but if it was not a necessity there is no obligation to do so. They can just do it because they love me. I will not be mad if they do not. The OP should either work or ask his father for a loan to start a business. Yes A LOAN. Don't ask your dad to "dash" you anything. At the end when you succeed I am pretty sure he will not ask you to pay him back. Abeg make I commot before I get a butt whooping this morning |
Jenny I think you are missing the point. I left home at 19 years of age. I could have stayed home if I wanted but I did not. Not that my reasoning was better but you are assuming that people do not make the decision to make it on their own if their parents are well off. Not the case at all. There are many people of means whose parents make sure they work through school. It is not because they are wicked or because they have decided to not live up to their end of the bargain. I can see how that setup can work for many females but especially for males I don't know how that sort of handout way of thinking will benefit them. Maybe I am totally stuck on this because I was raised this way and I see the benefits of it. My parents never handed us any money and if for any reason there was a need for anything significant we had to account for it. It gives you the impression that teh only thing that is yours is what you work for. I am happy with that and I will try as much as I can to pass as much of that to my kids. I watch this show on finance and I cannot tell you how many times I have seen parents in retirement talking about how they have taken loans to put their children through school and now they cannot make ends meet. In my mind I am thinking are these children handicap that they let their parents take loans on their behalf. To me it is strange. Work builds character. It does not mean that someone is suffering. If the poster was 16 I would still caution him on expecting more and being bratty about it but for a 24 year old man in my opinion it is shameful. Rather than expecting more money from his dad he should be asking his dad to work for him and get paid. EARN IT. Even if it means being his dad's secretary. It is honorable. The only reason why he is expecting more is because it has alwaysbeen handed to him. Unfortunately his parents have stopped catering to him cold turkey and I am pretty sure it is because they can see that he is not growing up. I expect that when I go to Nigeria that I would not run around to get certain things done. Those will be done anyway especially if I am coming with their grand kids but I go as if I will be staying in my own house. Abeg stop encouraging our OP. You want him to be the 40 year old that comes on NL complaining that his dad did not buy him a christmas shirt. You will be the one that will insult him first. |
I like the bridesmaids dresses. I think I will make them in metalic colors. |
I think we can look at driver error with some of these accidents. The roads are bad but there is a lot people can do to protect themselves. I think quite a few of these accidents were single car accidents and one hit a parked vehicle even though that vehicle should not have been there. It is sad but I think more should be done to educate drivers. The problem is that nothing works in Nigeria. If maybe infrastructure is bad then maybe you can count on the police to make sure everyone driving has a valid drivers license that is up to date or even if that sector will not work then maybe the sector that is responsible for road signs will come through. Not in Nigeria though. Nothing works and all these young lives keep getting lost. |
afam4eva:Yeah I got that from pro01s post. The name sounded familiar to me. |
jennykadry:It is a priviledge not a right. That is what we are saying. Nobody is entitled to anything. God forbid what happens if you cannot provide financially for a child that you did not equip to be self sufficient. This is what we are looking at right now with the OP. To be honest it is children like this that end up finding the quick and easy way to make it. Thank God his parents can afford to put a roof over his head and give him money to do little things otherwise we would be having a different discussion now. A 24 year old is a full grown man. I would have been embarassed to take money from my parents at that age for day to day living to be honest I am even instilling in my little ones that way of thinking now. I have seen adults my age even that do not understad the reality of what is their bank account . Daddy always provided so even though they now have children and serious financial responsibilities they do not know how to separate wants from needs. I will never throw away my child but supplying my child with things I know they can earn on their own is almost the same as poisoning their life |
pro01:Actually it has a lot to do with being a governor. |
Thank God he is getting better. I thought the Ojukwu's have money and besides being Governor what else does Mr. Peter Obi do |
another young man gone just like that. May his soul rest in peace |
He might have come with a students visa in which case he would not be able to work. Still not as excuse. I just wonder what his plan was after graduation. He does not seem to be driven at all. If he was he wouldn't be on NR complaining about how much money they givehim but rather guidance on how to go about getting a position with his credential. At least he feels bad which means that he at least knows right from wrong ![]() |
stillwater:Stillwater I disagree with you. I know many people of means that were born into money that had a choice but decided to do without mommy or daddy's help. So maybe dayo had to but just because a persons parent has does not mean that they should not even attempt to try on their own. Once someone forms that mentality that there is someone to bail them out if things get rough they will never try their hardest |
The oldest surviving person with progeria was african. he died at age 26 according to the wikipedia article psalm23 posted. It is possible that it is progeria. Our diet is different from western countries. What people are exposed to environmentally is also different. Eating pounded yam and fresh fish will always be better than eating macaroni and cheese on a daily basis. Our traditional diet might be the reson why their bodies have held together this long. But they still need help. Maybe they should contact oneof these TV stations that talk about Progeria. I know I had never seen or heard of any twins with the condition and their age also would make it many researchers joy to sit with them. It might help future unborn kids. |

You think if my dad is rich, I'd be hustling?
With the situation in Nigeria? Because I want to prove a point I will suffer. . .err no.
