FamilyRe: What Is The Worst Disability In Human? by Outstrip(f): 4:13pm On Oct 30, 2011
I think what I like about this thread is that i think the OP understands now. I think we should just leave him alone. Some people will never get it but he gets it. Many people have not dealt directly with a disabled person and not everybody has that natural compassionate spirit. He has been forced to think now and I am sure he is having a dialogue with himself. he gets in and I am satisfied with that

This is truly sad. Calling people who are advising the poster to do the right thing hypocrits.

FashionRe: Should Nigerian Women Be Forced To Go To Gym. by Outstrip(f): 2:35pm On Oct 30, 2011
The traffic thing is no excuse. My cousin has a very hectic schedule in Lagos. She has the same wake up in the morning and arrive home at night. She is at the gym 4 times a week at 5am. She is in her thirties but not married. I suspect that is the only reson why she finds the time for herself. She looks fabulous and she sees her fitness as a lifestyle. it can be done even in lagos. You just have to have an understanding spouse if you are married

FashionRe: Should Nigerian Women Be Forced To Go To Gym. by Outstrip(f): 1:36am On Oct 30, 2011
Nigerian men need to hit the gym just as much. As a matter of fact there is no excuse for an out of shape Nigerian man since typically they contribute nothing to the day to day running of the household. I am pretty sure that if the average Nigerian wife decides that she wants to take 2 hours a day, 3 days a week to go work out all her in laws will call her lazy including the husband that is complaining

FamilyRe: What Is The Worst Disability In Human? by Outstrip(f): 5:55pm On Oct 29, 2011
Okay this thread has become funny. I was hoping to gently educate the original poster that what they consider a handicap is a strength for many. Our culture really sees any sort of physical or mental handicap as a death sentence when these people can actually live very fufilling and rewarding lives

I work with mentally disadvantaged people and sometimes you see them work so hard to just put two and two together to complete a simple task. It is amazing. They are so determined to do something as simple as tie their shoes laces. Then I see typical people who have no handicap in the typical sense that are just so mentally lazy. It makes me want to flip my wig. I honestly see that as a handicap. You realize that some people are not equipped with the ability to engage their fully functioning brain
FamilyRe: ok by Outstrip(f): 5:19pm On Oct 29, 2011
It is not called the wedding finger. There is just one finger dedicated for the ring and it is called the ring finger. The only time I hear people talk about the middle finger it is when it is with Nigerians. I have heard it enough times now that I think it is now what people do in Nigeria. Which is fine. Everyone does not have to do it the same way. The formal finger for any ring though (doesn't matter if it is an engagement ring or wedding band) is the fourth (ring) finger

FamilyRe: Would You Go For A Low-key Marriage Ceremony? (you, Spouse, Parents And Siblings) by Outstrip(f): 5:00pm On Oct 29, 2011
It is your wedding do not let anyone pressure you into anything. If you want you can still sent an announcement but not an invitation. Something more like just letting them know that a wedding has taken place or will take place.
FamilyRe: What Is The Worst Disability In Human? by Outstrip(f): 4:58pm On Oct 29, 2011
I think it is having a brain and refusing to use it
FamilyRe: ok by Outstrip(f): 3:20pm On Oct 29, 2011
I guess it is your ring and your finger so you can wear it anywhere you want. You can even wear on your thumb. The right finger to wear the ring in the fourth one. But there is nothing wrong in starting your own way. Who knows is another 50 years everybody will wear their rings on the middle finger
FamilyRe: no more by Outstrip(f): 4:26am On Oct 29, 2011
I honestly could care less for that man but I sincerely hope that as you are typing this post that that child is not out of your sight. Your daughter is still a baby and you have left her for a paedophile. Why the hell are you even thinking of a marriage to the man after such a thing. Are you even aware at this point that your daughter is in danger of being raped. You are saying harassed but I am wondering if that is not even your language to soften what he has already done to that child. I am sure he had fondled her numerous times and you are here calling it simple harrasment. Please get off this website and get that man away from your child

Iolo:
Our ancestors were definitely corrupt and greedy. Without both there wuda bin no slavery in the first place. Cause everybody would have stOod their ground and said No.

The white's were not taking our people by force, slaves were sold for foreign goods.
Thank you
FamilyRe: ok by Outstrip(f): 8:13pm On Oct 27, 2011
The wedding and engagement finger are one and the same. Why would you wear the rings separately. I even have my engagement and wedding ring fused together
PoliticsRe: Corruption In Nigeria Is Cultural And Not Political by Outstrip(f): 6:29pm On Oct 27, 2011
Muntula:
No. Nigerians are just reacting to the trauma of having their kith and kin caught as animals and sold off into slavery. The District officers were the supervising slave dealers. Stealing from them was a natural backlash. In the second world war citizens of countries occupied by the Nazis felt it was their inalienable right to steal and cheat and kill the German occupiers. What you call corruption in Nigeria is only the reaction of the citizens to the brutality and inhumanity of the slavemasters turned colonial masters.
You are making excuses. My opinion is that you get over whatever you think was done to you

You wear it after he puts it on your finger. I have always worn mine on my 2nd.
FamilyRe: How Long Can U Allow Your Mum To Stay In Your Matrimonial Home? by Outstrip(f): 6:15pm On Oct 27, 2011
blank:
They both can stay as long as they like.

Whenever my MIL is around, i do not do anything at all in the house. She cleans, tidies the house, goes to market and cooks all before i reach home and if it is not too late, she does my hair for me. She is yet to spend the night but i do not mind her at all. I enjoy her coming over as she is great company. She always has very interesting gist for me. Worst case scenario, we watch African Magic together till she is ready to go home. She is an action woman. She complains of hip pain but never agrees to sit in one place.

My mum is more of a stay at home kind of person but she is so insightful. I love her company and her soup makes me green with envy. She has only ever come to my house when i gave birth and she was looking to leave as soon as possible cos she felt she was being a burden, as if. I love these 2 women with all my heart and i will never stop singing their praises till i meet my creator.
They both understand boundaries that is why everything is peachy grin The beautiful part of this is that when they get too old to live alone you will not think twice about having them stay because there is no resentment. I have seen where (in my opinion o) people were almost praying for their own parent to die because the burden was too much with their illness. These are the kinds of parents that when they are going back to Nigeria will demand only kelloggs corn flakes or Jergens lotion grin grin grin rather than the walmart brand or kroger brand. I am sorry but human beings especially Nigerians like to lie to themselves. After spending years catering to all their unreasonable demands they almost breath a sign of relief when they die all the time going through all the dutiful motions that people can see. I pray that you enjoy your MIL and Mom for a long time. When things get hot like they will remember when she used to do your hair and tidy your house LOL

FamilyRe: Confused Igbo First Son: Please Help by Outstrip(f): 3:19pm On Oct 27, 2011
Please you are not ready to get married. Do not frustrate some womans life because of your difficult parents. If you cannot stand up to them now then what will make you grow enough balls when yur mother moves in and starts making her life misreable. If the girl is sensible she will move on. You asked for my candid advice and this is it. LEAVE THE GIRL ALONE SO YOU DO NOT RUIN HER LIFE. Marry your parents
