If one is blessed and married to the right one i.e "your own Husband", then submission is easy & it is done lovingly, naturally and without one even noticing.

If on the other hand one is married to not so Mr Right, I will say still submit. It may take longer and a little more difficult but eventually it will pay off.

I believe that submission is what God has asked us to do as wives and I beleive that He can turn round even the hardest of men if we obey His word.

I think submission is a whole lot easier than loving someone. I think where we are getting it wrong is trying to equate the level of submission to how well the man is doing. If wives say "if you loose your job and cant put food on the table then don't expect me to listen to your ideas". That's wrong and this is the beginning of the end.

Learning to accept ones husbands decisions is the key; afterall he made the decision to marry you; was that a wrong decision? I know that sometimes its difficult and in the beginning I did struggle at first, but I soon learnt to trust my husband and now I wouldn't even dream of doing anything without putting it past him first.

Little day to day things that we sometimes take forgranted & take little notice off, add up to make the relationship stronger or weaker. The way I look at it is if I cannot submit to my husband, then why do I submit to my oga at work, or my pastor when he calls for a meeting or buy aso ebi because the family have asked us to wear a particular outfit for a party function etc

I have been to Nigeria several times on my own this year and have looked after my self with no wahala. Two weeks ago, I went with Hubby and he insisted on holding on my passport & ticket from the time we left home to go to the airport, throughout the trip and until we got back to the UK, his reason was so that I didn't loose it grin as If I have ever lost my passport on a solo trip before.

Anyway no offence was taken and I just looked at it as one less thing to worry about & since he had the passports & tickets, it was only natural that he had to fill in all those silly immigration forms, pay for and get a trolley, take the suitcases of the conveyor belt & deal with Naija customs on our arrival in Nigeria while I stood back enjoying the view grin

In most cases, men are very simple creatures; Treat them like kings and they treat you like queens. Besides all in all; pele lako pele labo
This just cracked me up because something similar happened to me over the weekend. My husband needed an oil change so I was going to drive my car and then he would leave his car and we would drive back home together. Can you imagine that he was telling me how to drive. LOL. Forget that I drive every day o. He even told me that I don't know how to accelerate properly. I done suffer. I think it is in the nature of a good husband to want to do things like that.

This woman has gone through a lot recently and I know it is still not all easy. She needs to see someone because she might be falling apart and I don't know what kind of support system she has. This is truly sad to see her like this.

You gave him permission to do this to you. You gave him the impression that his behavior was okay. Even if you do not leave today you need to change your mentality today. You should never have involved family especially when it is obvious that you did not do all you could have done. Stop having sex with him and start loving yourself

It is not incest. My advice is to tell her out right that it is not proper that she comes into your room when she should not be there. You did not say how old she was.
Family › Re: Submission In A Marriage: Women, Why The Resistance? by Outstrip(f): 10:46pm On Aug 02, 2010
What does diplomacy have to do with having a brain. The reason why the so called women you are saying have "harsh" husbands are forced to suffer is because of advice like yours. If they had their own individual things going then they would not have to wait for a man to be there for them to survive. Any sensible person who reads half of what you write should have no faith in you. Talking about because a man decided to marry me then , Are you even aware that you are a human being. Maybe your husband has not told you yet so until then that is debatable. What nonsense. I should bring my husband here to read this drivel. There are some people we know that are just like you. My moms bestfriends mother raised them on her own after her husband left them for an educated woman. She did not sell herself. She worked with her hands and somehow managed. All her children are educated and she did not humiliate herslef by hanging on to a man's balls that did not think she was good enough.
My husband married me as I married him. Nobody forced me and I was not looking for someone to pay my bills. I was looking for a life partner not someone to validate me because I cooked a piping hot pot of pepper soup and told him how he was lord of all he surveyed. I know very many women like you who are single today and still lying to themselves. You have not the slightest idea wht submission in marriage is. You are just simply hoping that if you do not act too smart he will keep feeling the need to protect you from the big bad evil world out there that is so bad for a woman to help herself SMH

There is no need to freak out. It happens. A lot has happened in the last two years. Her role is not just wife anymore and yours in just not husband anymore. There is a child now and she might not be looking sexy 24/7 like she used to. Tell her your fears and turn the romance back on. Maybe you guys have kind of lost touch a little emotionally. You just have to work at bringing it back. Goodluck

Yes but how is one for certain that one will be happier after the divorce?

Just a question Ive asked and am not saying that one should by all means remain in an extremly bad marriage but just food for thought.
In addition leaving with the idea that you will find a better relationship out there. Divorce should always be a last resort and leaving because of unhappiness is kind of strange because there has to be some underlying issues.

Dang Mutter, you really feel helpless don't you? Why be anybody's donkey at all. Good Golly. What is this crap about not having an opinion because your husband has enough brain for two. Why not just get a lobotomy and get it done with. A woman's brain must just be for fancy. My husband does not make all the decisions and he never will. If he wanted to he would never have married a woman like me. Any man who will not be happy because he is not the one making all the decisions really has a problem and any woman who thinks that the man should "believe" that he is doing all that is just lazy and weak. My two cents

I am sorry but you are part of yoru problem. You thought he was sheating but never confronted him. If he was actually having sex with a woman then why would there be wetness on his pants all the way home. Is he a geyser? Communication is definitely an issue in yoru marriage but it is not only from his side. You also have communication issues. You need to tell him straight up that you think he is cheating. I don't know what you are going through so I will not be too harsh about it but what is your proof that he is cheating. The wet spot on his pants in my own humble opinion wpuld be at best a messy mast-urbator

Bunch of losers these men. Nigerian women spread your wings. No where is it written that you must marry a nigerian especially when he is an abusive, psychotic, son of a bi-t-ch. Take your kids and run. Marriage is not a do or die matter. Even after he has killed you people come on the web and still abuse your memory so what was the gain in staying. Nothing. You are too special to throw it away. It is your children that will suffer. He will go to jail and become someone's bitch there but at least he has a life and might even see the children again one day. You on the other hand will never have that chance.
