Okay. I get it now. It was hard for me to tell her to worry about her husbands money when he does not worry about hers. @ poster I think you should do more to get him to understand that tomorrow does not take care of itself. By failing to plan you simply plan to fail. The other thing that makes me very uncomfortable is that it has been my experience that when the issues of money is not an open book then there is other trouble brewing that yu might not see now. Any money he sends should be money you are aware of BEFORE he sends it. Also why that money is being sent. The other issue is that typically when a family member receives money they usually call to thank you so if the siblings did not call to thank you then it is either they are not getting the money for what he says they are or they simply see you as a money tree to come pluck from when they get the feeling.
I am okay with helping someone who is down but it should not be a habit. Every body needs to hustle for their own. It is a big deal when you cannot explain where money goes

As long as you are sure that those "large" amounts of money are not going to something else. I don't know how to advice you really because I personally have a problem with women who make money but do not contribute it to the household.

Family › Re: He Married Me For Papers by Outstrip(f): 12:40am On Jun 30, 2010
You are strong. You will pull through this. You do not need to explain what happened or did not happen. Wickedness is not a mental illness and I have seen some very wicked people. It seems you married one. I am not going to kick you when you are down but I will tell you this DO NOT THROW YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND SAY IT IS OVER. Your life only just began. You have a beautiful son and many lessons in life. Those lessons are what will take you to the next level. I have seen many people like you who have gone through so much adversity and blew everybody's mind with how far they came. Work on not being bitter. It will be hard but you need to do it for yourself. Everything will eventually fall in place if you focus on the positive. When the negative thoughts come back push them away and focus back on the positive. Make the goals and work towards achieving them. God is your strength and with him nothing is impossible
Family › Re: Have You Got Any Reason Why You Think Incest Is Wrong? by Outstrip(f): 12:28am On Jun 30, 2010
49cents:
what exactly is wrong with incest? crazy question in it? funny enough it was borne out of a Yoruba TV show(mini jojo) i saw this morning, where a story of a woman whose long lost son from a secondary school pregnancy had a child with her daughter, conceived in a later marriage; they met in the US and already had a child together before it was discovered and even when the couple where told they were siblings they said they would never part ways,

In the same show another true life story is told of twins from Shagamu a town in Ogun state Nigeriia, who were having intimacy and eventually had a child, they refused to part ways, they later would elope to Kaduna and have five more kids,

I am not involved incest nor a considering it; i am only encouraged to post this because of the reaction i read on a NL thread about a man who was having intimacy with her daughter; there was a lot of people with weighty stones ready to cast on the man, but none of them spelt out exactly why it was wrong,

Can you articulate why exactly incest maybe a aberration, if possible without reference to religious belief? i trust your judgment since most you are likely not in an incestuous relationship; unlike when the issue is pre-marital sex.

Replies,
First of all that man was raping that child. She was a child. It was not consensual. I think people's heads need to be rewired. When you have sex with a minor it is R A P E.

My heart goes out to you. You are a woman of faith so I will not sit here and try and give fear a chance. I like the idea of using a surrogate even before surgery but at the end of the day you have to be okay with it. A surrogate means it's your husbands sperm and your eggs just not your uterus. Who really cares what carries the child. It is still 100% yours. I understand your fear of doing this before the surgery because if they have to do a hysterectomy during the surgery then you might never have that chance. Sister think it over and pray about it and agree with your husband. I personally like the surrogate idea

I witnessed something similar at a GTB on Thursday or Friday when a blind man was refused entry by the security men. Even when a lady staffer intervened, the man was asked all kinds of questions though finally he was allowed into the banking hall after about thirty minutes of arguments. i dont why this is so but we can do better for our physically challenged.
Can you imagine? People are so ignorant. What could he possibly have done to cause problems
WOW, typical feminist/mangina response. How did you come to that conclusion?

And here's the thing, if for example Gary Coleman was to hit Serena Williams in self-defense, people would generally ignore the fact that he's smaller and weaker, they'll just be outraged that a woman got smacked up because society has this "man=bad, woman=good" attitude. So a woman can never bee held accountable no matter how wrong she is.

Bottom line, yes if someone hits you unprovoked, male or female, then you have the right to fvck that person up, then just keep it moving.
You act as if I should be insulted by you calling me a feminist

I guess I am confused. Are you guys insinuating that the crutches can be used as a weapon or that there could be a gun hidden in the crutches. Explain please. I am trying to be patient and understand where you people are coming from. If security is so bad should they not have a way to scan customers as they walk through to make sure that their crutches are not hiding weapons. Every single public business place should be handicap accessible or you simply should not be allowed to serve the public. What if a pregnant woman was comign through. Would you harass her because she might be carrying a loaded gun in her abdomenhuh This is makes no sense to me
But I can't help but think that you're outraged because it was a woman that got attacked. I'm sure if it was the other way around you wouldn't be as outraged.

And how is my point lame? He hit her unprovoked (which we're not 100% sure of by the way, she might have said something, I dunno), then she hit him back. That's enough to teach someone a lesson. Simple. It's over, done and dusted.
But what if he was outraged that it was a woman that got hit first. It is natural for people to think so because typically men are stronger than women. So he is right to think that way though I don't think that was where he was going with it. You seem to have an issue with women.
Family › Re: Getting Pregnant After 35 by Outstrip(f): 2:30am On Jun 26, 2010
As women age, their pregnancies are more likely to yield twins -- but why?

Fertility drugs and family history of twins are known to boost a woman's chances of having twins. Hormonal changes that come with age are another reason, a new study states.

The study comes from researchers at Vrije University Medical Centre in the Netherlands. They included professor Roy Homburg of the university's division of reproductive medicine.

Homburg and colleagues found that older women have higher levels of a hormone called FSH, prompting greater likelihood of having fraternal twins. The study appears online in Human Reproduction.

This is from WebMD. So yes it is true. Hormonal changes that happen as women age makes it more likely for older women to have twins.

So I just read this. It also says that BP has ordered 32 extra machines so it has to be at least a little bit helpful. Can this help in the Niger Delta situation or is that situation just past any kind of help. If this machine really works then maybe the federal government can force Shell and co to use this machine to clean up our waters. Anybody understand that science behind this machine? ? ? ? ?
agree w/Oustrip

IUDs are your best option if you want longer lasting birth control. they are highly effective with low failure rate and they last longer

another birth control option is  Implanon-3yrs.

theyre other ones too like diaphragms, cervical caps, although failure rates w/these are high esp w/improper usage

there are also patches,rings,injections,pills--and then natural family planning(NFP) (you really have to know what youre doing with the NFP method, if not just be prepared for another bomboy on the way. i personally wouldnt recommend this but if youre diligent and have all the 'virtues' needed for it,it might work for you(?)

aside from the IUDs, the keyword in using the other birth controls is consistency and proper usage. you must be committed to it if you want to obtain the best result. many have low failure if used properly and consistently.

@ Oustrip   the 10yr one is ParaGard.
Thank you. I always forget that one

All the contraceptive methods have their advantages and side effects.

My wife HATES d condom and I've told her i'd gladly have a vasectomy but she fears future "performance" issues; so she uses that flexible arm insertion stuff that's about d size of a toothpick (i've forgotten d name) and it's s'pposed 2 last 3 yrs. the major side effects she has are slight weight gain, irregular period and some rashes on d arms.

Like has been said earlier, ask your Doc and research the available local options.
IUD or IUC

There is Mirena here in the states and it slowly releases medicine. It can stay in for 5 years. There is another IUD that stays in for 10 years and does not have any medicine whatsoever. Forgot the name now

Same thing I am saying. There are costs that are unique to every place. The power problem might be unique to Nigeria but it still does not excuse the "uniqueness" of the price
Travel › Re: Are Nigerian Hotels And Guest Houses Over-priced? by Outstrip(f): 1:27am On Jun 25, 2010
In my opinion it is overpriced. Don't bring the power supply or government into it. There are practically no labor laws in Nigeria so I know that staff are paid almost nothing. Just like you cannot compare what is being spent on power you can also not compare the quality of service to what you get in Nigerian "5 star" hotels. $350.00 a night indeed
Politics › Re: We Have No Money To Fix Power Sector – Jebba Power Chief by Outstrip(f): 1:18am On Jun 25, 2010
At the end of the day Nigeria is just a bog ball of corruption. It needs to be privatized at the end of the day but you know your country. They will sell the contract to an unqualified fool who will take the money and not produce results and the cycle continues. I think the common man is ready for change but those in power don't want change. Sometimes I just shake my head and move on.
Sports › Re: Algerian Player Slaps Woman In Public After Usa Match. by Outstrip(f): 12:25am On Jun 25, 2010
This guy should not be compared to a Kaita. Kaita attacked a fellow sportsman. If they got in a fight we could have said it was fair. It's just like let's say someone of Gary coleman's stature calling me a name and I retaliate by slapping him hard. That would be wrong. When you know you are physically capable to taking someone and you attack the person you are simply a loser
Family › Re: Getting Pregnant After 35 by Outstrip(f): 11:37pm On Jun 23, 2010
The poster is right. About 90% of a woman's eggs are gone by age 30. You only get a certain amount of eggs. Can a woman over age 30 get pregnant? Of course but you have to be patient and don't expect to pop one out right away. If you do pop one out right away then be thankful for that one.

Why should you envy her. This is a clear sign of a mental illness. She is mentally unstable. Nobody can have that many things just to wear on her body. It is abnormal. I can understand 200 pairs of shoes. I can even understand 30 pairs of pants but it is abnormal to plan to fill 3000sq ft with just things you put on your body. MADNESS
