I really loved that scene. It paints a clear picture of Barry's current state of mind. Even though Fuches exploited the hell out of Barry, you could see he's hopeless without a mentor to guide him. He's like a sheep without a Shepard, he needs a purpose and an anchor to ground him. I guess that's why he's drawn to Gene.

Do you think he's a functioning sociopath or just someone fvcked up in the head due to some trauma (PTSD).
I ran with the PTSD theory from S1, but i have come to a conclusion that he's a sociopath when he offed Janice, tho not on the level of Anton Chigurh from "No country for old men", but he's well on his way.

Movies like "12 years a Slave", "The Help" and "Django unchained" tried to shed light on a rotten the slave era was but my recent readings and findings shows that it probably ran more wild and inhumane than i first thought.

Here is a "Negro yard sale" advert from the 1800's...mannn

This season has more action, more crazy moments, crazier Barry, unhinged Sally, and a great season finale.

I prefer the darker tone of this season to 1 and 2. I for one loved that I no longer had to slug through the acting class scenes. This season is more much entertaining.
Same...The craziness was just building up from S1 and S2, and it came to peak this season. I mean what was people expecting from a skilled marksman trying to live a double live as an actor...it was bound to get dark and gritty at some point...glad it was renewed for a 4th season...

One of my fav scene from this season below btw grin

Barry (2018)

Season 3.....8/10

The best season so far. Looking forward to season 4.
Better than S2 and S1? Some people seem not to like it beacause of the tone.

Barry (2018)

Season 2....7.5/10

The pinnacle of this season is episode 5. It singlehandly took a 6/10 season to 7.5.
S3 more dark and gritty but still a good watch. Top tier show overall.

Got my movie mojo back this past week and the 3 movies i picked didn't disappoint.

Hustle (2022) Adam Sandler made a triumphant return to the movie scene after a 2 year hiatus delivering a charming and heart warming performance in this Basketball drama.

Father Stu (2022) Mark Wahlberg delivers in a somewhat Christian drama. Became tacky towards the end but redeemed Itself and it was a wholesome watch.

Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022) Cooper Raiff's 2nd feature deals with "the Aimlessness of Adolescence". Those awkward years stuck in no man's land..no longer a teen but too young to be called an adult. The world movies fast but what happens if we don't move with it? Cha Cha Real Smooth is a victory beacause of it's ability to capture these fleeting moments in a way that feels genuine.

The chemistry between Cooper Raiff and Dakota Johnson was so charming and was a shining light in the entire movie.

In a time when indie movies are a dying breed, I loved Cha Cha Real Smooth on the first watch, curious to see how it will feel seeing it a second time.

Who enjoyed Kate Blanchett's prologue narration of The lord of the Rings like me? To me, its the greatest narration i've ever heard. Kate's voice was out of this world
"It all began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power".....

It's arguably one of the best monologue in movie history... blended with that LOTR score was perfection.

Let us stop encouraging mental illness. We are either male or female, gay, straight or bi. If you want to be 'non-binary' then cut off your distinguishing sex organs. The world is encouraging every stupid whim, which is why all these nonsense is cropping up.
The discourse is a very slippery one for me and i try to avoid it in public space or fora as much as possible. If people are onboarding gays and bi's now (at least according to you), don't Non-binary folks get a pass on this ride too? There's a long list of people waiting to board this train too e.g agender, two spirit, pansexual, trans, pangender etc.

So my point being, I'm not encouraging anyone to identify as anything as that's thier personal choice but i wouldn't want them ostracized or prosecuted for that choice either.

I believe these non-binary people are out to confuse the earth. Notice that Ezra himself posted using singular pronouns but that reporter had tried it, they would have tagged him homophobic
I particularly don't have a problem with non-binary people, the world is tough enough, so everyone is entitled to do whatever makes he/she/they happy.

But the paradigm shift all this is about to/ already cause/causing is going to surely cause a headache in all spheres of life as we know it. This is has already rendered all our basic English and part of speech lessons invalid.

it carried into episode 6 so that ship has already sailed. Won't be surprised to see it rearing its ugly head in the season finale. It's a filler that has no place in a show like Stranger Things.
The Jason subplot ties with Chrissy's subplot and that plot has reached it's end and I don't think it will be exploited any further. They basically have the final episodes to tidy the whole "upside" business cuz S5 will be set years from the events of S4, so it's serious business from here hence.

DandeNumeruno:
The introduction of Bob was super necessary. He played two crucial roles towards the plot's advancement, the first of which resulted in the mind flayer possessing Will, and the second resulted in Joyce and co safely escaping the demagorgon-infested facility. Unlike Bob's, Suzie's and Jason's subplots are both getting in the way of the plot's advancement.

The writing in general is been bogged down by two many moving pieces. The longer episodes are a drag. I like long episodes, but I believe they should be reserved for finales or epilogues. With the unnecessary subplots and such, it makes the episodes tedious to watch.

I'm hoping Vol. 2 will clean up most of the mess Vol. 1 made and finish strong, because the writing has been the weakest it's ever been since this show began.
Have that not been the theme since S1? Why is it suddenly a problem now? at bolded.

The long episode was necessary becuz they didn't want to extend beyond S5, so they had just S4 and S5 to tie up everything and produce a finale and closure that sticks.

I still don't see how Jason and Suzie subplot derailed the plot advancement. Jason had atmost 5 screen time in the entire season and Suzzie's subplot was that one time they visited her family home.

DandeNumeruno:
Stranger Things S4 is overrated.

For me it's 3>1>2>4

Don’t get me wrong, I am very much enjoying S4, but something seems off about it for me in some ways. Some tighter writing and removal of some characters would help out a lot. There are 4 different groups right now. There should be two (3 at most). The Suzie cheaper by the dozen subplot is completely useless, and the Jason subplot is going nowhere.
Season 4 writing is only trumped by S1. The Jason subplot was needed, and i think it won't even last that long going forward so i see no problem with it. The Duffer brothers have been writing minimal characters like this, so that the show is not just about the kids we know, Just like Bob in S2, the character wasn't going anywhere but it was needed in S2 and ties to the overall flow of the plot. Giving Suzie a proper screen time after her cameo in S3 to understand why she's a nerd with her family's background was needed too.
I simply can't fault S4 Vol. 1. It's S1>S4>S3>S2 imo.

I read this last week. cool

You'll see some of these in the live action Netflix series. I've seen some scenes from the comics in the trailer. This scene is very important and should be shown in the TV show.

This show portends to be pretty dark asides from its horror elements.
Like Unity Kinkaid being r@ped several times by Desire (a member of the Endless) and giving birth to a girl all while being asleep for decades.
Man...This show better bang....for your sake my man grin

I swear you can't really blame him, I understand it doesn't even need a season 2 with the way everything went, but with the success they had from that series only a not serious person in life would pass on the idea for a second season, I trust Hollywood they would have milked it up to 4 seasons
Yeah... it's a "cash grab" now. I remember Money heist been like this. Had a fantastic plot to run for 2 seasons and end, till they decided to stretch it to 5 seasons and it became a sappy forgettable show.

It's is not overrated but certainly doesn't need a Season 2...the final two episode of S1 was even a drag. Something can be good and still end..peer pressure on the creator by Netflix is birthing this S2.

Vitiligo doesn't turn a black man into a white man.He may have had that condition but it is obvious that he bleached his skin, changed his nose and hair.He did everything to look white.
Nobody said Vitiligo turns a black man into a White man, but the condition appears in many wide variation. Some have close to 90% white patches all over thier body, why some others have uneven patches and this brings them shame and they are open to discrimination. I personally know someone with the condition, the person is always on trousers and long sleeves with cap just to hide the condition. As the condition is irreversible, the only remedy is to even out the white patches through cosmetic surgery aka Bleaching. So I don't see why MJ should be vilified for this.
As for his nose and hair. That was his personal choice, people of all races changed their nasal structure for variety of reasons and it's okay. The "human hair" that girls in this clime crave after, which race do you think the hair his modelled after??.
The theory of him "wanting to be white by all means" should die a natural death cuz he has explained why he did what he did and the reasons are legit.
And he will forever be the "KING of POP".

I saw the "Black Adam" trailer and i didn't feel as excited as i thought i was supposed to, not that it was not good per say, but it felt like the thousands of "Superhero" movie that had come before it, there was no certain "spark" and i totally know what to expect even before seeing the movie. Not that i have anything against the "Superhero genre", but I think i might have totally had my fill of them at this point and marvel releasing "superhero genre" content every 7 business days is not helping matters.
