Thanks sir. However, I think it's the design of the Nairaland website that determine (possibly on the size) whether the qoute will be above or below. AworiLagosian: One curious question though Why do you write ur reply above a quote instead of below? If u’re quoting someone, then remarks should be after the quote, not before.. That makes for better following of the discussion and timeline. |

How can they permanently silence their brethren? horsepower102: Yeah I understand your frustration but I think it’s wrong to use one or couple of incidents to judge a whole group.
All we want is for the pro-igbo elements among them to permanently silence the denialist. That’s the only way Igbos can unite and heal. |

Not necessarily sir. They can decide to be on their own as a new and unique tribe called Anioma. Examples of similar tribes that are a fusion of different tribes exist e.g Ogori-Mangogo people in Kogi State. MelesZenawi: They already said they are not Igbos.
So obviously they are Binis, Esans, Igalas and Yorubas...

Excuse me Bros. Is there anything very important about this identity of the Aniomas, going by the ways you guys take it so serious? If some Aniomas say they are Igbos, what will Igbos gain? If some Aniomas say they aren't Igbos, what will Igbos lose? obowo69: Wow i am very disappointed.
I think its time for you to move on. You are doing more damage to the way people see the Aniomas.
Let me tell you something that you need to understand, it shouldn't be the responsibility of south east Igbos to cater to you guys especially considering the fact that you allow the deniers to be the loudest voice amongs you.
If anything, the South East Igbos have been humiliated for the past 50 years and denied by everyone around them. They are beginning to worry about their interest.
Its the Aniomas that should be making more effort (in all Honesty) to rebuild the relationship that they destroyed.
The south East igbos never rejected anyone.

.Excuse me sir, what exactly do you want to gain by suggesting that 'the voices of those who don't identify (wrongly constructed as 'denials' as Igbos be muted'? 1) Do you honestly believe all these people like Dr Ojeih and others are truly Igbos in origin but deliberately deny it and declared that they are from Bini and Igala or that they are a unique tribe called Anioma? 2) Why are so many (especially the young) Igbos always annoyed whenever the identity of the Aniomas and Ikwerres are being discussed? maestroferddi: Just like I said, let it slide...
I know it can be exasperating seeing someone being patronizing about their Igboness
One dares to assert that if the cultural identity of the 'Igbo acceptors' among the Aniomas is something they value and hold in high esteem, then they would rise above their cavalier attitude to ensure that the voice/noise of 'the deniers"are muted unlike what we are witnessing now.
We need something above the lukewarm claim to Igboness...
The Igbos have, via the don't of hard work, painstakingly earned themselves a pride of place in the Nigerian national ecosystem so much that these notice-seeking attempts at repudiation is just ridiculous... |

Did you even comprehend what I wrote? I said their territory lies at the intersection of many Empires/Kingdoms and cultures. There are many Aniomas who traced their Origins to Igbo, Esan, Bini and Igala people which all share borders with Anioma. Few clans trace their Origins to the Yorubas (The Olukumis). It's left for the Anioma people to define who they are. . . it's a free world. MelesZenawi: Historians has just arrived.
Distantly yorubas....Mr history.
Well it is okay....Aniomas are yorubas.

What concern the Yorubas in this matter? Why bringing Yorubas into this discussion? Almost all Yoruba don't even know that thing called Anioma exist. Ask any random Yoruba guy on the street of Epe,Shagamu, Ogbomosho or Ikire about Anioma and you will be see that nearly all of them haven't heard the term 'Anioma' before. Ikechunna: You're wasting your time with people like that. Some SE Igbos are as guilty as Yorubas on insulting Anioma for no reason. Funny thing niggas like that feel like they have the authority to tell ppl what's their identify. We don't need SE to validate us on igbo identity. Y'all aren't the fathers of igbo. Therefore, ignore niggas like that. They aren't worth the energy |

They are from diverse ethnic backgrounds because their territory lies at the intersection of several Empires/Kingdoms and different cultures e.g Bini, Esan, Nri(Igbo), Igala and distantly Yoruba. Dedetwo: I plead to the mushroom organizations to be very careful whom they elect a president. Those who parade with "dr" affixed to their names are usually empty-headed. The Igbo organizations should be extra careful with the surname of any jackass vying for the position of presidency in their organizations. A person with surname such as Ojieh, which sounds and looks more like Edo than Igbo, should have indicated a red flag. |

Every enlightened adult in Nigeria know that Chief Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu died many years ago same with Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela etc. However, it's not uncommon to see some of their fans/admirers opening social media accounts in such names while some even name their children after them. It's not a case of impersonation at all. E.g the musicians 50cents and Shina Rambo actually adopted the names of their childhood hero same with Naira Marley (with slight modification). fergie001: Yes there are more than one Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Ahmadu Bello.
But when we mention the name, we all know what we mean.

It is possible that some of the parts of the Innoson vehicles are manufactured in Nigeria using locally available materials. isthatso: innoson is not your own....it is a Chinese car! It is as "Nigerian" as the Honda, Peugeot, Kia, hyuandai, Jac, Nissaqns assembled in Nigeria. Any of them is fine because they all do the same thing. I dont care if they reject innoson or Peugeot or Nissan or Honda and neither should any reasonable Nigerian so long as they dont buy imported cars that add no value like Toyota, Range Rover, mercedes etc. |
Politics › Re: Reps Reject Innoson Suvs As Official Vehicles by oyatz(m): 3:09pm On Feb 07, 2020 |
Sir, I perceive that you are a smart and realistic Business man! isthatso: it's not rocket science, a used toyota is more reliable, probably easier to service and definitely has wide availability of parts no matter where you are in Nigeria, has more status and will likely give me less headache. I also know that in 10 years i will still be able to get parts for the Toyota. I dont know if Innoson will even be around in a few years. This is a very important point, the company has no dealerships, service centers, it does not invest in advertising and cant even afford to pay for a rebranding which will help it and it acknowledges it likes, which means 1) it is probably just barely keeping it's head above water which does not inspire confidence 2) If it decides to close shop there is no legacy distribution or spareparts netwrok to keep the existing cars going.
Innoson has no service centers, it announced late last year it wants to establish it's first one in Enugu because it says Enugu state govt purchased cars from it. . i dont understand that kind of mindset, you are waiting for people to buy your car before you establish service center?. The market is in lagos you are establishing service center in Enugu? If i am going to buy a new car and end up taking it to Jellili the mechanic because there are no service centers around me, then I might as well buy a used car.
I'll take the tokunboh Toyota thank-you. |

That's NOT the reason. The reason is because Innoson vehicles don't have Unique Selling Points. For instance, price can be a unique selling point if NEW Innoson saloon cars are being sold for #1.5 Million. Many average Nigerians will prefer to use #1.5Million to buy new Innoson cars than use it to buy Tokunbo Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla. Adebisi0070: God knows Nigerians are hypocrite.. they didn't support him, not because his car is bad... Innoson cars are about #3 million. If you have #3M to buy a car, will you go for Innoson or Toyota or Nissan? isthatso: we vote in known crooks and complain of morality? It's funny these days seeing Nigerians complain of morality. Morality checked out from Nigeria decades ago and many of the people who complain are themselves amoral in their personal lives and dealings!! The average Nigerian no longer has any morals, that is partly why we have amoral leaders!!!! |
Politics › Re: Reps Reject Innoson Suvs As Official Vehicles by oyatz(m): 2:27pm On Feb 07, 2020 |
Some commentors will say you hate the Igbos. einsteine: Innoson would never be as big as Toyota. Don't kid yourself.
There is no reason today for someone who can afford to buy an IVM car to buy it. In business, you need a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) to succeed. Being made in Nigeria is not a USP and does not lead to scalable growth. This is the same tactic the failed TSTV tried to use, trying to guilt-trip Nigerians into patronizing a product because it is made in Nigeria.
Is IVM better designed than Toyota?
Better fuel performance? Cheaper? Are there even IVM ads?
Why exactly should one buy an IVM automobile instead of Toyota or Nissan or Volvo?
No reason, other than it being made in Nnewi? Then, sorry, that would not lead to success. |

Why do Nigerians (including those criticizing the the Government) prefer to buy Tokunbo Toyota Corolla/Camry or Nissan Sienna to buying Innoson vehicles? isthatso: IMHO Innoson should focus on pickup trucks and buses. He will have a reasonable market in police, army trucks and mass transit buses. Govts will patronise him because he is a local manufacturer but he will NEVER get enough individuals to patronise his cars to make it viable. A tokunbo corolla/camry makes more sense to an individual than an Innoson..that is his reality!!! |

This is why you should support the ban and encourage these Okada and Keke Operators to move en mass to Rivers State, the much touted replacement for Lagos. At least about 1-3 million people need to leave Lagos to Ogun, Ondo, Rivers, Bayelsa etc CSTR2: That is why Lagos is the worst among all the major cities in Africa. Nairobi, Casablanca, jourhanesburg, Capetown, Accra, Durban,
The absolute worst. Nigeria's Wealth and federal enabled monopolies is wasted on them. For example, All the oil companies that drill oil in other states pay taxes in Lagos and all those funds are wasted.
