Different Empires, Kingdoms and Villages existed in Nigeria and were called different names in different parts. What the British only did was to bring these different Empires/Kingdoms and Villages together under one authority. This is very similar to what the Bini soldiers did in what later became known as Lagos. Before the Coming of the Binis, different Idejo clans controlled different parts of the Islands. It was the Binis soldiers led by Ashipa (whom the Binis called Eksheripa) that brought everybody together under a monachial rule affliated to the Bini Monarchy. What the |

Ibaka Deepsea 'Port' is a white elephant project through which State Governments of Akwa Ibom siphon their State's money. It's a think Forest with some concrete pavements beside the Atlantic ocean, nothing more. It's similar to the MKO Abiola International Airport at Ido-Osun which Ex-Gov Aregbesola used to siphoned the money of Osun State. The Port Harcourt Monorail by Amaechi is another example of Similar white elephant projects. |

If it's insecurity then what exactly are the naval forces doing in the Baracks instead of patrolling the water ways? When it's time to move oil from those same ports to abroad there are no problems but to bring them back refined to the same ports you sight insecurity and rather move everything to Lagos, having us moving back refined oil through tankers. Nigeria i hail thee. Very wicked and useless country. Sabotaging the economy of your fellow countrymen just because you hate them. I can't stop laughing at what you wrote here. 1) The ships used during the colonial era not as big as these modern day ocean liners. Besides that, the shipping companies are more motivated by profits than any other things. Big Ocean liners that can take 3 times the goods being taken by their 1960s precursors are the kinds of ships been used by the shipping companies in the 21st century. 2) crude oil are not exported through these ports. The oil companies have oil rigs far into the ocean, from where crude oil are pumped into special ships. These ships don't need to come to the shores where the ports are located. |

Enwhen: The northerners are more wiser than we southerners...if only u have stayed in the north mostly prior and during election... THERE IS NO WAY A DIVIDED SOUTH CAN WIN ELECTION, EXCEPT THE PDP WILL GIVE IT TO SOUTH IF THE APC DOES.
It is certain the Cabals will not give Baba Tinubu or star boy VP the ticket of APC, which may lead to movement of structures from APC as it is being preparing to be cooked, it's going to be tough , because I know the Cabals have filed enough charges against Baba Tinubu and Star boy VP, their threat in APC...it would be better if the south come out with one voice that is its the time for the SOUTH, else the Cabals will come out with their NorthEast President(show biz Gov Zulum or Kingigbe) and SouthEast VP. The PDP will never give it to the South , until they collect power , they are more concern on getting the power before proper zoning... If the APC fails to give Baba Tinubu or any of his boys, it would be an easy ride for the PDP if it also doesn't scatters , but if it does , the Cabals will have the day, mostly now that most PDP Govs are romancing with them at night...personally, I see the cabals winning 2023 Election with the anti-graft agencies... Because the hope of Baba Tinubu, the likes of Ganduge , Boss Mustapha , Alhaji Takai Kano, Gov Atiku ... All have issues with the EFCC, May God will be done in Nigeria ....they are all thieves...so unfortunate that Nigeria is not close to better life The people you call the cabals are only powerful in the Presidency and largely due to Buhari. On their own, people like Mamman Daura, Abba Kyari or Lawal Daura can't win Senatorial elections in their various States. They have very little electoral values. They are NOT politicians but aides of Buhari who sometimes are allowed by Buhari to weild influence in the Presidency. |

kayjay69: A private citizen that continues to control the commonwealth of the State of Lagos.
Private citizen indeed!
While I do not agree with Bode George nor the politics of win at all costs he oversaw during his Vice Chairmanship of the SW within the PDP, he is always spot on when it comes to his comments regarding Mr Tinubu and people such as you should stay on point rather than attempt to launder Tinubu's image to the gullible public.
I dislike either men and all they stand for. I believe we Yorubas have more to offer by way of leadership than these two professional thieves. Infact, you can argue that men such as these two have overtime, through subverting of the party machinery, behind the scenes continue to compromise quality leaders or the public's access to quality leaders.
And now such men talk about becoming President, I laugh. Mr Tinubu is a private citizen who is a member of political parties that has been winning elections in Lagos State since 1999 and there are many people in those parties. In the USA, the Late Senator Nelson Rockefeller was five terms the Governor of New York State and Franklin D. Roosevelt was four terms the President of the United States. If his political opponents don't want him to have any influence in the administration of the State, the most appropriate thing to do is to find the ways that can make the electorates vote more for their parties. Constantly complaining about Tinubu will NOT achieve anything because nobody can ban him from participating in the politics of his State. |

People whether they are Igbos, Edos, Fulanis or Madinka don't spend their money simply on tribal sentiments but their spendings is largely influenced by economic judgements. Virtually all the times he grants an interview he talks about Tinubu and Tinubu never bother to reply him.
Tinubu is now a private citizen, it looks more like a personal vedetta to be campaigning against a man who has left Government 13 years ago and is not holding any public post for now.
Mr George can give all the reasons why he thinks he will be a good president, instead of saying he wants to contest because of Tinubu. |

The Edo's and Yorubas have long historical interactions, not only on the Island of Lagos but in many areas. The Edos influenced, ruled and settled in some parts of Lagos just as the British did in centuries later but today, neither the Edos nor the British can be regarded as owing anywhere in Lagos. |

0m0nnakoda: Port Harcourt was NEVER called Igweocha. That is a lie from the Pit of hell.
Like all lies if ignored and repeated often it becomes a truism
Port Harcourt originally referred to the Port full stop. As development came and the area developed into a city all the villages around became subsumed in what we now call Port Harcourt
These are villages around Diobu Ogbunabali all the way to to Rebisi Elelenwo and Woji. There are hundreds of villages in Obio Akpor and Rebisi e.g Rumubiakani Rumuomasi Rumueme Rumuadaolu Rumuola Rumuogba etc mostly Ikwerre whilst a few places have Ijaw names e.g. Borokiri, Abuloma.
There is nothing like Igweocha anywhere. Those who propagate this lie do not know PH.
There is no place that does not have a name. So where exactly is this "Igweocha" ?
These desperate folk have gone to the extent of writing fake stories on Wikipedia but a simple question busts their lie.
Which place exactly in PH is called Igweocha? Igweocha is the term used by later Igbo immigrants to Port Harcourt but the Natives didn't call their villages Igweocha. This is just like Igbos call London Obodo Oyinbo but this doesn't mean 'Obodi Oyinbo' is a valid name for London. |
