1) The truth will always remain the truth. They don't have to be what we wish ,like or expected. As a matter of fact, truths are more often than not, bitter and comfortable. I have just stated what I know to be the truths about the outcome of Igbos going to war under the present circumstances. 2) Most Biafrans enthusiasts seems to have a common problem; difficulty in accommodating dissenting opinions and a great tendency to see those who hold contrary views as enemies. They seems to be more idealists than realists. 3) Whether I hate or love Igbos is immaterial. My hatred or love of Igbos can't help or oppose to get Biafra. 4) Actions do have consequences. Have you sat down to sincerely ask why do Nigieria refuse to allow Igbos to secceed? It's not that Nigeria is gaining anything superb from the Igbos but because of the consequences of such seccession; total disintegeration of Nigeria! 5) If Igbos are allowed to secceed freely from Nigeria, then there will be no justification not to allow Efik, Ogoni,Ijaw, Yoruba, Nupe, Edo or Baribas to secceed freely from Nigeria, thus if Biafria should secceed, it means there will be no Nigeria left as several tribes(especially Ijaw, Ogoni, Urhobos etc) will also wish to be on their own as small homogeneous countries with billions of dollars from oil reserve like UAE, Quatar, Bahrain etc. Yujin: Lol. Your type don't reason with emotions and your prejudice against Igbos is glaring. We know are enemies and they're not those who are rational to understand freedom. Our enemies are the 'One Nigerianists' who support the evil government of Nigeria to suppress us. Every regions position is easily determined today as information transmission is very easy at present. So, we know our enemies. Igbos know it's going to be an annihilation warfare. One thing is certain at the end and that is that Nigeria will never remain one. Who will gain more from both sides? I'm sure you know it is us that want freedom. We won't pity those that will be trapped in Nigeria with the fulanis. Ponder on this. |

Bros, get this rightly 1) Ethnic identification is SELF IDENTITY. We are who we say we are. If the Ijebus, Egbas, Awori or even the Eguns call themselves Yorubas, who are we to say they aren't? If Ogori-Mangogo or Itshekiri say they aren't Yorubas, who are we to say they must be Yorubas? YOU CAN'T DETERMINE THE IDENTITY of the Ikwerre people, only the Ikwerres can determine who they are or want to be. 2) Ngwas and Ezza people, even though have no ancestral relationships with Nri have chosen to be identified as Igbo, so be it. However if Ikwerres, Etche and Ekpeye say they don't want to be Igbos, so be it. 3) Examples of related tribes, declaring to be different different tribes occur all over the world. Ibibios, Efiks and even Annang are actually different dialects of the same language but because there's no acceptable unifying name, they are regarded as different tribes. jimyjames: You are just contradicting yourself, ikwere is an igboid subgroup just like many igboid subgroup we have in delta and ebonyi , that's the point, ikwere have their root in Igbo
Are you telling me the ijebus are not Yoruba cause the speak a different dialect ? Are you telling me the Aworis and Eguns who are the original owners of Lagos are not Yoruba cause the speak a different dialect? All of this tribes have their roots in Yoruba, there is a difference between a tribe and ethnic group, |

Please point to a single line where I said South-South will fight for one Nigeria? Why answering questions that were never asked? My post was about Igbos going to war against Nigeria at this point when they aren't in advantaged position and that they were more powerful in Nigeria of the 1960s than now. The right timing is a great factor in winning a war. Blackking98: Dreamer which south south will fight for Nigeria. We'd fight along the igbos to achieve our aims as Niger Delta republic while they get Biafra and we both win. Tell me what SS will benefit from fighting for Nigeria. Mtchewww. Bros you didn't get right again. 1) Every tribe is the owner of it's language and Culture. Whether they borrowed it or it evolve from their ancestral tribes is another matter. 2) If Ikwerres speak their language and practice their culture. If both look very similar to the culture and the cultural practices of the Igbos, it simply shows that both tribes may actually descended from the same parents or they are related. It's impossible to determine which tribe/culture came first. And what if it's the Igbos that borrowed the language from the Ikwerres and modified it to become the Igbos we now know? 3) Almost all tribes in Southern Nigeria are related and their languages is actually a spectrum of languages which keep changing as you move from one end to the other end of the spectrum. If you start from Ilaro close to the Western border and keep moving eastwards, you will see that the languages are similar but keep metamorphosing until it becomes Igbo around the River Niger. jimyjames: Lol ikwerres speak Igbo and practice Igbo ,culture and tradion,

Continue to deceive yourself. The FG initially declared Police Action (not outrightly war) and even after declaring war, it was still treating the Biafrans with kid gloves. As per Foreign allies, both sides had foreign support and used foreign mercenaries which is not illegal. Russia and Britian didn't deploy their troops to Nigeria in 1967-1970 and if you have any EVIDENCE (not beer parlour rumours) that they did, please post it here for all to see. okeyglm: if you followed the events accordingly, you would have seen the Biafra was winning initially. the equation changed when Russia, Britain , Egypt, Sudan etc joined the fight. even CIA predicted Biafra to win. |

Ihejirika wasn't removed. He served his time and retired at the mandatory retirement age. Jonathan, like other presidents before Buhari strictly follow the law regarding retirement of service chiefs except military commaders on Foreign missions. This has nothing to do with Yorubas, the story was published by pro-Igbo Newspaper, The Vanguard. Attributing anything you don't like to the Yorubas makes you look very insecured with subtle inferiority complex. People only talk like that about someone/some people that they think are greater than them. It's difficult to see a Boss or a Leader attributing everything that's wrong with him to his subordinates. ludd2018: Brother you said the truth what transpired between ihejirika and Gej government was very clear and not too long ago . They perceived that Ihejirika is ruthless with Bokoharam and pressed for his removal and Gej heeded to it . In the first place The North was not comfortable that an Igboman was heading the military . Burutai tenure was over why not Buhari retire him ?

Bros, wars are NOT won by emotions or bravery but by great armies with good strategies. 1) If war break out today, the Igbos will be nearly annilated. 2) In the 1960s, the Igbos were in charge of a significant portion of Nigeria with a corresponding portion of 'inherited' Nigerian military. 3) Today, the Igbos have no army and aren't in charge of any military organization in the Country. How many Military officers in the present day Nigeria are Igbos? 4) The Igbo don't have large quantity of oil or ready made mineral resources to give Russia or the so-called Foreign allies in exchange for military support. No European countries will fight any war without getting something return. What will Igbos give them to get their millitary support? The oil installations in the old Eastern region controlled by the Igbos are now located in the S/South Region and any attempts by the Igbos to lay claim to these Region will be interpreted as Land grabbing by the Niger-Deltans, the rest of Nigeria and the International Community. The Ijaws, Urhobos, Ogonis, Ibibios will sabotage the Biafrans again if Igbos try to annex their territories. 5) The last straw that will break the Camel's back; (a) the Igbos are landlocked and have no INTERNATIONAL BORDERS. (b) Igbos have no dependable allies among their neighbours. Another Land, Sea and Air blockade will be far easier to effect and Biafria will capitulate in a month. 6) Igbos don't have military planes to be dropping Bombs on other Nigerian cities. If Igbos are dropping Bombs on Lagos, Oshogbo, Ilorin etc. What do you think the other Non-Igbo Nigerians will do? Do you think they will sit down and be clapping for you? Think deeply sir. You are suggesting exactly the same costly mistakes Ojukwu made in taking the war into Non-Biafran territories , stimulating uncommon patrotism which united other Nigerians to fight ferrociously against the Biafrans. This didn't get Ojukwu the needed International sympathy but portrayed the Biafrans as the agressors. The same scenario will play out with greater devastating consequences for the Igbos. All of the present Igbo Governors weren't as powerful as Ojukwu. 7) Boko Haram INSURGENCY is different from a CIVIL WAR. Try to know the differences and modalities of dealing with them. Don't pray for war. The Igbos are far in more disadvantaged position than in the 1960s. Igbos can get Biafra easier through peaceful means than through wars. Let's avoid war. #IgboAmaka #NigeriaAmaka franchasng: All Nigerians should pray there is no other civil war in Nigeria honestly because it will be a total mortal combat; fight to finish.
in 1967, Igbos allowed only Ojukwu to make the decision of not accepting foreign allies like Russia that gave an offer to Biafra but they turned it down thinking they could win Nigeria+Britain+Egypt and co on their own.
This time around, Igbos will go into ally with not just Russia, but any available foreign power and mercenaries because we know better now than in 1967.
Again, Britain no longer have much interest in Nigeria like in 1967 and Britain cannot even protect their own nation now to talk of going to Africa to help another nation fight when their economy is not that stable....so Nigeria won't be getting as much full allies as in 1967.
Again, Biafra didn't have jet fighters, bombers, etc to go to other Nigerian cities like Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, Oshogbo, Ilorin, Makurdi, Jos, etc to drop bombs....should another war happen, be rest assured that bombs will be dropping in all Nigerian cities and towns.
It is also worthy to note that the Middlebelt people who played key role in helping to push Nigerian soldiers into Biafran soil through Ebonyi/Enugu have become wiser, they even regret joining force with Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba to fight Biafra, so don't expect all Middlebelt tribes to join force in fighting against Biafra should another civil war break out today.
You can imagine how difficult it is for Nigerian military to contend ordinary ragtag Boko Haram militants now, so think of another full blown civil war in 2020something, its going to be completely bloody....I doubt if there will be many survivors in Nigeria because Igbos home and abroad will be so brutal this time I swear....watching these clips brought tears to my eyes, I feel like the war should be repeated now |

Please explain the method and the rationale for the last paragraph. JonDon12: That Ibo Officers killed the Sardauna, does not make it right for people to go on a massacre of Ibos. Plus this was a pogrom aided by military officers.
I agree with you, we need a better life. We can do three things; Try to work in the status quo. This I think is unfeasible and has been proven a failure. We can try and Refederalise Nigeria or maybe into a much looser cofederate structure. We did this in 1960 to 1967 and was inaccepable to everybody except Northern Elites like Balewa and Bello who neglected their own region and went adventuring in the west. This has some pitfalls and minefields but on the other hand can be easily achieved peacefully
Third Option is split. I see this as the best option. A split into 4 countries with none of them being landlocked. |

You obviously assumed that I am defending Buhari. I don't have the time and energy to defend Buhari, who in my own Buhari doesn't need any defense because he doesn't care about the views of the citizens. My point is that many Nigerians place too much emphasis on the centre instead of starting from their local areas. There is only president but there are 36 States' Governors whose actions and inactions can have great impact on the people. And finally, most people criticizing Buhari are NOT doing so out of patriotism but out of hatred for Buhari because he is not from their tribe/religion. 2: Is buhari the first president we have had? Didn't you people hold pdp presidents to ransom? Why should we let buhari off the hook?
Besides, the direction of the president determines the direction of the country.
If buhari makes it a policy to only patronise Nigerian hospitals, other governors would emulate.
It is just like the rice policy. The federal government shut the borders. The states have no choice but to promote indigenous rice production.

Indeed, the Igbos felt proudly to be deeply entrenched in the Government of Nigieria for the first time since the end of the civil war. 2) However in terms of infrastructural developments, he didn't do much even in his native S/South and in his support base of S/East despite having reasonable billions of Petrodollars. 3) In my own personal opinion, most Igbos (at least those on Nairaland, Twitter and Facebook) seems to prefer the first point above and uncomfortable about discussing the second point.
