But why?
Marriage is very important in one's life and should be celebrated especially as our culture demand.

Wedding reception is part of Nigerian culture and I a place like Lagos, is one of the avenues for people to relax with family and friends, meet new friends ,eat good foods, drink and dance their sorrows away.

Your reasoning is quite funny sir.

Why do you people see ENEMIES everywhere? Every tribe is forging ahead, seeking for it's own advancement within and outside this country, nobody have time to be screaming perpetually 'they are against us, they hate us, they don't want us'

I hardly see or hear youths from minority tribes like Nupe,Jukun, Tiv or Kanuri coming online to lament about other Nigerians being their 'Enemies'.

Any region can be better than another. It's a proven fact all over the world.

It has to be that way. It would be a great mistake to break out of Nigeria and still have nations of different languages.

Maj Chukwuma Nzeogwu was an Igboman from Okpanam near Asaba.

He fought and died gallantly for Biafra during the Civil war.

You are a born Liar!

Awolowo was incarcerated from 1962-1967 and he was not holding any Government post, so how did he sponsored Adaka Boro's secession in conjunction with Sardauna his arch enemy in 1966?

Most Igbo commentators on this Forum strongly believe all propaganda they were told by their parents/uncles about other Nigerians and come here to propagate such as the gospel truths without investigating the veracity of such stories.

APCHaram:
[s][/s]

Awo, Zik and Sarduna all worked with one of each other to balkanize each other's region.

Awo and Zik worked together unsuccessfully to emancipate the middle belt from the north.

Sarduna and Zik worked with each other to create Midwest region from western region.

Awo and Sarduna sponsored the Adaka Boro seccesionist movement to weaken the eastern region.

The mantra one north was coined by the Sarduna as a rallying call to assuage the middle belt peoples into believing in one United and equal northern region.

One dangerous trend on Nairaland is the penchant with which some misinformed and disgruntled children of hatred from a certain region of this country try to demonize any Nigerian leader being discussed on this Forum.

It doesn't matter if the leader is Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello, Gen Gowon, Maj Adaka Boro, Brig Benjamin Adekunle, Gen Mohammed Shuwa, Ogbemudia, Saro-Wiwa, MKO Abiola, Buhari and of course, their hate figure, Bola Tinubu.

The OP has listened to propaganda for so long and wrote this hatefilled article to disparage the late Human and Environmental Activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa.

1) Saro Wiwa never attended UNN ,Nsukka rather he attended the University of Ibadan.
He was a junior Lecturer at UNN at the outbreak of the Civil war.

2) Saro-Wiwa was appointed the CIVILIAN Administrator of Bonny Island (like a LGA chairman) during the war and later Commissioner in Rivers State after the war.
It was Ukpabi Asika that was appointed by the FG as the Administrator of East Central State to replace Ojukwu.

3) Most of the Biafran prontagonists only look at issues from their own points of views. They often attack other people whose views do not allign with their own.
Anyone who doesn't support Biafra is labeled a backstabber, betrayer or traitor and during the war were called 'Sabos' and were often eliminated.
Their approach to Political issues is authoritarian...no contrary views are permitted.

Saro-Wiwa didn't support Buafra but this doesn't necessarily mean he hated Igbos.
4) The Pro Abacha Ogoni-4 faction of MOSOP were killed by Irate Mob attack on May 21, 1994 but Saro-Wiwa was denied entry into Ogoniland by the Police on that same day. He was never near the Gokana palace where the attack took place.

However, Saro-Wawa's harsh criticism (similar to IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu's style) against the moderate elders who were less militant against the Government casted the Ogoni chiefs in very negative lights before the youths.

The members of the National Youth Council of Ogoniland became very angry when the police denied their freedom fighter and Hero, Saro-Wiwa entry into Ogoniland to address an anti Government rally and vented their anger on the elders, killing four chiefs in the process. Mohammed Kobani narrowly escaped by running into a shrine ,considered holy by the community.

Abacha, who wanted scape goats to demonstrate the might of his unpopular Junta as well as once and for all silence the agitation in Ogoniland by Saro-Wiwa and his MOSOP which had grown from an irritant to an obstacle quickly used the unfortunate incident to hang the murders of these chiefs on Saro-Wiwa and his faction of MOSOP.

He flew in executioners from Sokoto to Port Harcourt to hang the 9 people convicted by his Special Tribunal (no opportunity for proper, let alone fair trial in normal courts up to Supreme Court) for murder on Nov-10, 1995 in ways that terrified the Nation.
The message was loud and clear...a new strong Military dictator is in power and all oppositions will be brutally crused!
Politics › Re: 200 Ships Now Berth In Warri Ports – NPA DG by oyatz(m): 5:37pm On Aug 30, 2019
Ships sailing from the Western Hemisphere to Nigeria will first reach the Western most port (The ports of Lagos) before reaching the coasts of Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and finally Cross River States.

Ships that load cargoes for West African Countries first reach the Ports in Senegal, Liberia, Seirra Leone, Ghana, Love (Togo)and Cotonou &Porto Novo (Republic of Benin).
After offloading the Cargoes met for these ports, then
they proceed to Apapa and Tin Can Island ports(Lagos) before continuing their journey eastwards.

IamCharles123:
Lagos port doesn't necessary comes first, it depends on where u are delivery ur goods to. To northern Nigeria or west then lagos is preferable but to south n east warri, calabar, ph ports are preferable.

Politics › Re: 200 Ships Now Berth In Warri Ports – NPA DG by oyatz(m): 8:52pm On Aug 28, 2019
Why exactly do you think the charges should be the same in the first instance?

Custom duties on each item are the same all over Nigeria but Shipping cost, clearing cost ,port user's charges varies from port to Port and these are not determined by Government.

Why is it that the cost of landing from Mecca at Murtalar Muhammed International Airport, Lagos is not the same as the cost in Aminu Kano International Airport?

Why is it that Hospital bills for doing Ceaserean section in LUTH,Idi-Araba, Lagos is not the same in UNTH, Enugu?

Why is it that the cost of securing admission into University of Lagos is different from the cost of securing admission into Ahmadu Bello University?

mrvitalis:
From my experience the charges are not the same
Politics › Re: 200 Ships Now Berth In Warri Ports – NPA DG by oyatz(m): 5:07pm On Aug 28, 2019
The Jonathan administration had concessioned these ports to private sectors.

The management of the concessionaires charge different handling charges just like IEDC, IBEDC, BEDC and EEDC have slightly different charges

chinedu234:
If you do your findings right, you will observe that handling charges are different across various ports. Onne is quite different from tincan and apapa. However the improvement should be acknowledged.
Politics › Re: 200 Ships Now Berth In Warri Ports – NPA DG by oyatz(m): 5:03pm On Aug 28, 2019
Even with simple explanations and common sense, they ought to know that when moving goods from Europe or America's via the Atlantic ocean, you will first get to Lagos and sailing down to Warri, Port-Harcourt or Calabar will attract extra costs.

This is just like someone in Lagos complaining why the transport fares to Sokoto or Kano is more expensive than to Abuja!

itsme01:
as a shipper once you berth at cortonou and ofload most of your content, going to lagos you charge alittle extra and ofload much content, so any warri or calabar bound cargo would cost you extra because its because of your cargo and few other cargos that its berthing and paying Intels fees

so its not like FG caused that or Lagos made it so
Politics › Re: 200 Ships Now Berth In Warri Ports – NPA DG by oyatz(m): 4:56pm On Aug 28, 2019

Too many ignorant People on this Forum.

The ports are owned and operated by the Federal Government NOT Lagos State so Lagos doesn't get revenues from the ports's business.

If proper restructuring is done, that will enable Lagos to get shares of the revenues from the ports like the Kings of Lagos used to do in Pre-Colonial Lagos.

Nsarug80:
A time will come when the SS region will stop feeding some unproductive & parasitic elements in this country. Let them restructure & see how some people will die of famine. By the time other ports start working maximally, Lagos IGR would be brought to 10k per month.

Different shipping companies and clearing and forwarding agents determine the costs of clearing goods.

Your question is like asking if New-York to MMA,Ikeja tickets should be the same with New-York to Port-Harcourt Intl Airport.

Import or export duties on the particular goods as determined by the Nigerian Custom Service are the same all over Nigeria.

mrvitalis:
Tell us the cost of clearing goods at warri port ,port harcourt port , and calabar port ...lets see if its the same with lagos

If truly you are Igbo, do you think the interest of an Igbo man is fully protected in the ZOO?
If no, then why don't you take up the struggle intellectually while your fellow intellects will rally round you and results will surface?
Why are you wasting your intellectual abilities seating in your comfort zone criticising people making effort at all?
Why don't you create a platform where you dish out your intellectual instructions, who knows they might hear and use them?

Wao, so this Primate Ayodele is this young? He is very handsome and the wife is also beautiful.

Odinceblog1:
Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Ejigbo, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has said that the 2023 presidency is not for the Igbo.

In a recent chat with newsmen , the cleric said that the Igbo would not stop playing second fiddle to the North Central and the South West.

“Between themselves, it’s not for the Igbo. I’ll let you know the tribe that will come back. But the north will not relinquish power. They will still battle for it. And that is why I said democracy will beak Nigeria,” he said.

When asked again to emphasise his stance on Igbo 2023 presidency, Ayodele said: “The Igbo are wasting their time. They’ll canvass for them but they won’t get it. The North Central and South West will be a problem for Igbo.”

The preacher warned the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to be careful else he might “crumble on the way”.

He added: “This is the word of God. It is not my word. I’m not a politician. It is only a politician that would say this is what he thinks.”

On the RevolutionNow protest, Ayodele said: “It is not yet time for revolution in Nigeria. The uprising will come in the nearest future. So it is not this man (Omoyele Sowore) that will do it.
