This is a common mistake you people continue to make. 1) Nobody denatured anybody's language. All over the world there are examples of similar languages spoken by related or unrelated ethnic groups. 2) What if it's the Igbos that borrowed the language from Ekpeye through Ikweres to Etche and finally to Igbos? 3) No ethnic group have a copyright over any name or language. An English man or a Frenchman may bear Frank, Henry, Louis. Hebrew , Aramaic and Arabic languages have so many similar words but none can claim to be a denatured of the other. Ilah= Elai= Alaha= God Ben= Bin= Son e.g Ben Yusuf/Bin Yusuf Today, Igala and Yoruba languages are very similar but they are different ethnic groups. Isoko and Urhobo languages are partially mutually intelligible. Efik &Ibibio are partially mutually intelligible. Yoruba and Itshekiri languages are partially mutually intelligible. pazienza: |
Many years ago, my bossom friend who is a Muslim was packing out of a flat and I indicated that I wanted to move in to the flat, my friend was a bit embarrassed and told me that their landlord doesn't give his house to non-muslim tenants! OpinionCounts: |
Don't mind the hypocrites with their double standards. OpinionCounts: |
So you too have been suspecting that the 'Christian North' guy may have some forms of mental illnesses? GlorifiedTunde: |
I think this MURIC should be on the watchlist of the DSS because it's an Islamic extremist group which can easily become another Boko Haram. Thousands of Muslims have been killed by Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen and armed Bandits ,yet MURIC hasn't deem it fit to speak in favour of the Muslim victims but are usually quick to exploit Religious fault lines in the Country. |
Bros, stop mentioning me in negative ways. You know nothing about me. Lev 19: 16=> 'YOU shall not go about as a slanderer' Titus 3:2=> ' Malign no one, be peaceable, gentle, showing considerations to all men' ChristianNorth: |
I think this is MURIC (Nairaland branch) Leonbonapart: |
If you lack capacity for comprehension, it is NOT my fault. My two posts are NOT mutually exclusive. You don't win or lose an election soley because of only one factor but multiplicity of factors. In Oyo State, Seyi Makinde of the PDP won because of a) His likable personaliy b) resentment against the Ajimobi-led APC administration. The interference of Ex-Gov Ajimobi in the Ibadan traditional council, in the eyes of most Indigenes looked like attempts to whittle down the influence of the Olubadan of Ibadan (much like what's happening in Kano) In Yorubaland, where many people still have great respect for traditional rulers, you will incur the wraths of many people if you are seen as attacking their traditional rulers. This particular issue made Ajimobi very unpopular among the real Ibadan Indigenes and he lost his senatorial election (the largest voting block) while APC won Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial elections. The poor management of the economy where States' Governments were owing workers up to six months salaries was surely to become an electoral matter. Tinubu's matter was not an issue in the election. #Everypoliticsislocal Donelli: |
The younger generation of Igbos (especially online) hate Tinubu with a passion because they perceive Tinubu's Political structure as the greatest threat to an Igbo Political relevance in the present Political equation of Nigeria. QED |
Mr Man, how did you come to the funny conclusion that any Yoruba man that voted for PDP in the 2019 hates Tinubu and wants Tinubu cut to size? So you just think the people of Oyo State voted for Gov Seyi Makinde of the PDP because they want Tinubu cut to size? What's the role of the performance of the APC State Government in earning the party re-election? There are many politicians in APC who their electorates don't want in power anymore. Bede2u: |
Why do you people constantly feel the need to compare your people with other tribes in this Country? Why not just make your comments without drawing tribes into it? Shun Tribalism... it's a waste of education. The cultural practice and worldviews of the Igbos are different from that of the Hausas, Nupes, Tivs, Yorubas or the Ijaws but this may not necessarily mean Yorubas are better than Igbos or Igbos are better than non-Igbos. You posts was syllogically defective and irrelevant to the issues I raised. In an intellectual debates, you adduce evidence to support or refute claims NOT bringing useless unintelligent issues and pasting peurile posts that are not related to the topic under consideration. I know this is clearly above your understanding, so go and look for your mates,so you can be doing dick measuring contests to see whose religion is most silly. Goodbye and don't quote me again. Empiree: |
We are definitely not operating from the same frequency. I am not into dick measuring contest with you, go and look for your mates. Point to any statement I wrote that was a lie. Don't quote me again if you don't understand what I wrote. Empiree: |
PDP should not 'interfer' in the ways the members chose their leaders. #Indepenceofthelegislature Islie: |
Then you shouldn't have tried to down play my efforts. This is not about Politics. Everything I wrote happened and are 100% true. Nigerians have been killed by Islamic fundamentalists for similar and even lesser issues. Kiss the truth. Empiree: |
What are you saying? Were you not in this country when the then deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahmud Shinkafi declared that 'All Muslims should consider the killing of Isioma Daniel (a journalist with ThisDay Newspaper) a Religious obligation' for writing an article in the Newspaper about the likelihood of Prophet Mohammed approving the holding of Miss World beauty peagents and possibly marrying one of the contestants if he were to be alive in 2002? Where were you when many Nigerians were killed by Muslim terrorists because someone in Faraway Denmark drew a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed? Where were you when Gideon Akaluka was beheaded by Islamic fundamentalists in Kano and his head paraded on a stick simply because his wife wiped her anus with a sheet of paper with Arabic inscription which they claimed was Quran (actually a Shia propaganda Magazine from Iran)? I am trying to prevent potential violence and you are discouraging it Empiree: |
A very good proverb. Many indigenous African tribes have produced Noble men and sages with quotes of wisdom. They were actually Philosophers , only that they didn't develope extensive writing systems. donbachi: |
Which truths? Your so-called truths can lead to the loss of lives and properties of innocent Nigerians when Terrorists start Killing people for your insults against Allah. OtemAtum: |
Hmmnnnn, you want to use style to corner one pretty hijab babe for yourself abi? God dey! Hollawayn05: |
Why this statement that can cause terrorists' attacks? Why this provocation sir? OtemAtum: |
You need to tell us the meaning so as to promote the usage of Igbo language. donbachi: |
Sharp guy, he has even given the white woman Belle. Happiigist: |
So we likely see Igbo Herdsmen soon? festacman: |
Eeeyah Kpele. The good Lord will heal you and restore your sanity IJN ChristianNorth: |
The truth of the matter is that it will be difficult to eradicate Boko Haram because of 1) Boko Haram is based on religious doctrines and religions touch the minds especially in a poor third world country. 2) The areas where Boko Haram operate is populated by people who share the same Religious views with Boko Haram but may not manifest it violently i.e these people are passive sympathizers of Boko Haram. Hence future Boko Haramists can easily be recruited from these populations. For instance, it will be very difficult for Boko Haram to make Port Harcourt, Aba or Lagos their operational bases because most people in these places are against what Boko Haram stand for. |
I don't like bad news,I work, hope for and pray for the good of Nigeria. I am NOT one of the children of hatred who rejoice with and celebrate attacks by terrorists against their country. 1 Tim 2: 2=> Pray for the Kings and those in positions of authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives ChristianNorth: |
This is part of his inability to think deeply; He has a fixed thinking that anyone who disagrees with him is a Yoruba and a Muslim. ChristianNorth: |

You like many young Nigerians seems not to understand that being educated goes beyond going to school. It's such mentality like this that make many young Nigerians to be calling a retired General in The Nigerian Army an 'illiterate or Dullard'. The experience, exposure, discipline and professional training of a Colonel who is not a graduate is superior to someone who just bagged BSc in Animal husbandry or B.A in Fine & Applied Arts. I personally know many people who didn't attend much regular schooling while growing up but have since further their education through correspondence courses, private home teaching, adult education and numerous sandwich programmes. Most of the trade unionists attended only Modern Schools, Secondary schools or even dropped out at Form 2-3 (JSS-3) but they have upgraded themselves to be almost at par with Senators, Governors, Directors the other who call the shots in society. Justiceleague1: |
The guy, ChristianNorth hates Yorubas with passion and this has affected his capacity to reason very well. Alamoo: |
One major problem with many young people online is that they become too personal and emotional about the Political issues in the land and this make it difficult for them to debate Political issues logically without losing their calmness. I am a REALIST and not a tribal bigot. My education, family background, cosmopolitan experience of life and expose has elevated me beyond the pettiness of bigotry. I have nothing against you, Dave Umahi or the Igbos generally becoming the president. I personally wish we can become mature to a stage that we will be able to elect Political office holders without considering their ethno-religious backgrounds. TSRC: |
