While I commend the West's stand (support for Ukraine and sanctions) on Russia based on their unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, they need to know that not giving them a soft landing won't end the war anytime soon.

Russia needs a soft landing so they can have an excuse to stop the invasion. If they keep giving them sanctions without telling them sanctions would be lifted if they stop the war, then Russia no longer has anything to gain even if they stop fighting Ukraine. Putin is probably in regret right now, but shame would prevent him from stopping since there isn't any soft landing in place.

Diplomacy would do the West a great good at this time. If these sanctions persist, Russia would become another North Korea and would be a major threat to world peace. They need to give them a reason to stop fighting the war...

Who do you propose to shift grounds first between Russia and West? Russia is the aggressor, so the answer is simple.

One thing that I have learnt from my over 30 years experience of being a Nigerian is that, people in the audience watching you fighting don't actually care as much as you think they do. If you are giving in too much thought to how they react to seeing you fighting, you might end up losing the fight. But if you stand your ground even though you are not getting support initially from the audience, that your courage will drive people from the audience towards you in the end.

All in all, just know that nobody will care about you as much as you care about yourself.

This jungle justice has to stop, except the people have killed, why unleashing such a barbaric treatment on a human. I am sure they would have gotten a soft landing if they were women.
