perhaps you might not have the full doctrine about migration, but few people who migrated due to occupation and slave trade some 200 years ago might have settled down in Lagos due to its trade proximity and the availability of ports which brought in Portuguese and European slave traders and merchants. If you have no knowledge of history perhaps ask your father or grandfather who have longer days than you. I have been abroad for a while now and i am curious to know why some of our ladies decline dating or marrying fellow Nigerians in the diaspora. I have tried to date a few any they are often quick to assume i am after them for their papers while i just prefer my own, someone who understands my culture and where i have come from. Even when i try to date the ones that don't have paper, regular work visa holders like me. They seem to want to be with the guys that have papers.

Also, when i am old, i would like to return to Nigeria. Marrying outside would make that transition very difficult.

I study other races, Immigrant groups from India and Asia. they work together well, and don't have these difficulty.

Should i give up on being with a Nigerian or keep trying ?

I see the issue of oil bringing war into Nigeria if the federal government does not let the states privatise the oil sector to bring in their profits, asking an hausa man to head oil wells and refinery in the south will surely bring in insults to the south, even though the hausa could have led another organisation in his region. Let government stop bringing negligence, corruption and tribalism war into the country and region through their conquer and rule mentality and their corruption mindset. South do not depend on Hausa or yoruba for anything. I see that the yoruba man always play the politics of hate even in another man's land but if war rages out none of them will gain except the southern region as oil is here to stay forever, buy their oil or you leave their region and don't bring in insults.
