When two elephants fight, the grass is never consulted. As long as workers are paid for the period in which they go on strike, strikes will continue. |
I am neither trying to prove nor disprove the existence of hell, but from the op's illustrations, why are the devil and his angels immune to the fire? |
You may write a formal complaint to the state ministry of the environment; include photos and mention the address. |
It's okay for electric cars to be introduced into the country. If you have to wait for 24 hours electricity to introduce a new product, you may as well not do any business at all. Every new product has its challenges. From the op's narrative, it's a private business with private risk. Nobody is going to be forced to buy their cars. |
Apprehending 26 men with laptops and mobile phones does not in itself prove criminal activity. |
Why were they arrested? What was their offence? |
The title of this thread is misleading. The Lagos State Government did not "take" any credit for the release of the kidnapped boys. Mr Laolu Akande made a statement. His tweet was probably his view and not that of the Acting President. Those who do not agree with what Mr Akande said should direct their grievances to him, not to the Lagos State Governor or Government. |
First day at school in July? Which country is this? |
Op thanks for the information. You've mentioned nine horror books. What about the other four? |
An election that mandates all citizens to vote for the same person is no election at all. |
This is just a photograph of several young men using their laptops. There is nothing to defend here; it is not an offence to use a laptop. That apart, we do not even know whether they are actually Nigerians. |
I never knew that the blue whale has hands. |
zoba88:What kind of reporting is this? ![]() |
I find number 3 difficult to comprehend, even with the explanation. The other sentences, however, are a fantastic play of words. This is my first time of seeing the same word (had) four consecutive times in a sentence. |
The government (both federal and state) should do away with making subjects compulsory as much as possible. Let the students and their schools be able to choose their subjects. Compulsory subjects in secondary schools should be reduced to just English Language, Mathematics and one science subject. |

Which are the newly promoted teams? |
114 persons pleaded guilty, without any exception? Hmm! |
ArewaTech1:I was wondering about this as well. How can a US court extend its jurisdiction to another country? |
GenOrumov:You're right. It is probably private property which belongs to a policeman/woman. |
Peace2love:Quite true, this is a very important lesson. However, if there is no evidence against Paschal, he should be released. |
A shop has not been opened for two years. So what? If the rent has lapsed, and the shop owner cannot be found, the landlord should get an eviction order. A bureau de change's business is all about money? It is not an offence to keep money in a shop, no matter the amount. |
eyinjuege:This is the real issue. If the pastor wants to sue, fine. However, this is a civil case and Kemi Olunloyo should not have been arrested and detained over this matter. |
I really don't know why all this is happening. Some have said the pastor should forgive. To me, this is not the point; whether the pastor decides to forgive or not is his business. The real issue is, why is this a criminal matter? Whoever is aggrieved by Kemi Olunloyo's remarks should sue at a civil court. First Olunloyo was arrested at Ibadan and taken to Port Harcourt, where she was detained. An application for bail was made, but the magistrate happened to be ill. Was the magistrate really ill, or just "conveniently" ill to prolong Olunloyo's detention? We don't know. Eventually, the magistrate grants bail, then a federal high court denies her bail. Who was the federal high court judge that denied her bail? This is strange. I would have thought civil rights groups would have taken this matter up. |
If those convicted feel the judgement is too harsh, they can appeal against the severity of the sentence. |
So a few persons came together for a meeting in public. Why were they apprehended? Were they seen to commit any crime? |
I don't understand why she was arrested. If someone is offended by her statements, that person should sue in a civil court. This is not a criminal issue. |
Corporate responsibility should be encouraged, but not enforced. Does the company not pay taxes and levies to the federal, state and local governments. What are the state and local governments doing for the community? What is the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs doing for the community? What is the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) doing for the community? The purpose of any business is to make profit. The company cannot afford to employ unqualified persons or ghost workers. Even if there are a few qualified persons in the community, they are still expected to go through the normal employment process (vacancy, application, interview). As regards the difference in salary, do they all have the same job description? |
Some have stated that popularity does not necessarily mean quality. They may be right. However, this does not mean that popularity should be ignored. Front page worthiness is dependent on the moderator, which is a bit subjective. Points should not be awarded for this. The individual stories should be rated first, then attributed to the author. Otherwise, author A may write twenty wack stories and accumulate 7,500 points whereas author B may write one bestselling novel and get 6,500 points. |
A boy, probably 11 - 12 years in age, was saved, not a baby. |
