McKren:
I had always wondered why Sanusi is so obsessed with Foreign takeover of the only sector that seems to be working and which is actually homegrown?

He should go and get his Foreign Friends to come and take over the Textile and plastic manufacturing sector and leave our banks alone.
He has a pre-arranged order from the Arab funds. Those are his foreign friends he has always talked about.
Problem is, they might no longer be interested especially considering that the whole industry has lost any credibility that was built over the years.

Papa Brown, an objective or consructive opinion of some persons ,when it totally or slightly contrasts with yours doesn't neccessarily imply slowness or what ever you construe that to mean on their part.Rather ,It actually does paint a picture of you as bieng a fixated shallow bigot. You need to be more broad minded than remain within your dark tribal enclosure.
Mr Mechris. I have no tribal inclination whatsoever. Why don't you get broadminded yourself and see clearly that I commend Ribadu, but warn about Sanusi? Are they not both of the same tribe??

I speak with knowledge and I have clear facts that support my speech. I love the avaerager Hausa man, smae as I like Ibo, Yoruba or Niger Deltan. I deride any body with a tribal agenda whether he be Ibo, Your Hausa or South Sotherner.

Sanusi has an Agenda which has very sectional/religious undertones.

Watch the next move: Arab funds are going to buy into the seized banks. Once again you are too slow, so you wouldn't know until they have taken over.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Lamido: Another Nuhu Ribadu In The Making? by PapaBrowne(m): 6:58pm On Aug 19, 2009
By the time Sanusi is through with his Northern Agenda and all the banks are filled with Hausa/Fulani secondary school graduates in the name of quota system, you will understand then that there is a difference between Sanusi and Ribadu.
While one(Sanusi) is the son of an Emir of Kano, a custodian of the Northern hegemony, the other(Ribadu) is from far away Adamawa state. If you don't understand the implications, then its because you are naturally slow.

My people there is a difference!! Ribadu is totally different from Sanusi.

Liase with EFCC to prosecute IborihuhHow is that possible?? Ibori is the Captain of the EFCC. He appointed both the EFCC Chairlady & the Attorney General. How can EFCC go after him!

@Topic
Ibori is the best investor in Nigeria.
He invested 5  million Naira to obtain Yar Adua's presidential application form. Invested much more(probably billions) to ensure he becomes president.
He invested heavily in the EFCC, Justice Dept, Media, etc.
He obtained loans from banks and crashed them now they can't pursue him for the loans.

The guy is a great investor. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the next Vice president, takes out Yar Adua and eventually becomes president.

Vanguard Newspapers should be scolded for this irresponsible journalism. There was a thread I saw earlier about irresponsible journalism but I didn't care to read it. I didn't know it'd gotten this bad. It really has gone over the board.
Why is Vanguard being accused?
This article was headlined in Vanguard, Thisday and The Guardian. So it cannot by any means be a false story.

For those that are taking it for granted, may I warn you that your gateman might just be a Boko Haram waiting patiently for the day he'll be ordered to fulfill his destiny as a Jihadist!

FamilyRe: Would You Prefer A Functional Wife Or An Attractive One ? by PapaBrowne(m): 6:31pm On Aug 04, 2009
Funtional: Cooks well, manages the home, great with kids, has a job & would score B+ in bed BUT not really beautiful.

Attractive: Not really homely, very attractive, knows how to spend money(latest Louis Vuitton bag, matching make-up with dress, shoe & bag etc) & does miracles in the bedroom.

Faced with this 2 choices for WIFE which would you opt for & why?
Attractive is relative and depends on what qualities attract you.
What happens if after the first child, your attractive Louis Vuitton wife gets fat and uglyhuh
Add that to the fact that she is not able to maintain the home + her new plus size destroys that bedroom energy you talked about.

Then remember that you would have to spend the rest of you life with a woman who is no longer attractive to you, whose Louis Vuitton clothes don't fit anymore and one who has lost the ability to perform bedroom miracles.

Finally, finally it really looks like Nigeria is about to break up! What a relief!

Please lets discuss more on how we can make this a very peaceful disintegration.
Lets discuss the composition of the New Countries that would emanate.
Lets discuss our goals and visions for our New Countries!

Finally it appears like there is finally hope in the air.

I see 4 or 5 countries.
1) Sharia North.
2)Middle Belt
3)Western Nigeria.
4 & 5)
Either South East/ South South or South East & South South.

I personally would have preferred just two countries. Southern Nigeria & Sharia Nigeria, but on a second thought, after the reaction by western elders to the Atlas Cove bombing, I'd rather we have 4 or 5 beautiful Countries.

Come to think of it, the Boko Haram believe they have a legitimate request, creating Sharia Nigeria should solve their demands with ease.

This page is awash with Kobo's Litany of double standards!!

@topic
Maybe this will finally lead us to the much desired disintegration of Nigeria into different federating units (peacefully I hope).
It will be kool for them(Boko Haram , Yar Adua, Rilwanu Lukman and the likes) to carve their own country out of those 12 Sharia states.
We welcome all those Northerners(Muslims and Christains) who dislike Sharia to move down to any of the new Southern Countries either in the South West or in the South South/South East.

Not just a white elephant, but a monumental white elephant!

Asides almost all the Niger Delta states have better and more reasonable projects than this!
Delta state is doing the $1.4 billion Warri Industrial Business park.
Rivers State has already started the the over $10 billion Greater Port Harcourt City project.
Cross River has Tinapa (maybe it is because of this Kano project that the FG is working so hard 2 kill Tinapa)
. . . and a host of other major projetcs being planned in the Niger Delta by the Niger Delta Governors.

For the first time on Nairaland, Debosky is talking rubbish!!
Even the smartest fellows have their bad days, and Debosky, this is surely one of them for you!!

Your line of argument, though sound and very logical, it is becomes baseless when you apply simple common sense.
There is no credible reason, why such an announcement to cancel OBJ's choice of Warri and replace same with Kaduna, would made be at a time of very heightened  tensions emanating from injustices on the Niger Delta.

This govt has officially declared itself blind and brainless!

Thank God for MEND, as they seem a credible antidote to all these kind of stupid policies!

Yar'adua's government seeks every opportunity to express its lameness. I'm amazed at the lack of any sensitivity displayed by this government.
At a time when MEND is blowing up pipelines to highlight the Government's injustice to the Niger Delta, the Federal Government is making this kind of silly move that would only worsen the scenario and expose its insincerity in handling the injustice of the Niger Delta.

How can you use 14 billion Naira for an administrative office? Why choose now(a tumultuous time by any standards) to announce the canceling of the university? I don't have a problem with the Kaduna location, but why rub it in the face of Niger Deltans that Kaduna will train senior management while Warri will train the lower cadre staff?

I hope this whole Niger Delta crisis doesn't blow the country in pieces before the Federal Government wakes up to what is right!!

FG reverses Warri PTI upgrade
Headlines Jul 22, 2009

By Daniel Idonor
ABUJA – THE Federal Government yesterday reversed the upgrade of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Warri to a University status, as approved by the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration.

Also, the government rose in staunch defence of the N14 billion budget for the construction of the Kaduna Petroleum College, saying that those who do not want the project sited in the north should have a re-think as there is absolutely nothing they can do to change government’s decision.

The Government had on June 3, this year, at its FEC meeting approved the sum of N14.5 billion for the upgrade of the 15-year-old National College of Petroleum Studies (NCPS), Kaduna, to the status of an institution of higher learning, to enable it meet up with the current human capital challenges in the petroleum industry.

At its weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday, the Government approved the sum of N10.4 billion for the construction of a permanent headquarters for the controversial Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, within 18 months.

With the approval, the Kaduna College is now to be responsible for the training of management manpower needed in the industry while the older PTI, Effurun, Warri would be responsible for training the junior cadre manpower required in the oil industry.

This development undoubtedly has continued to generate widespread condemnation from a cross section of people of the Niger-Delta region.

Fielding questions on these issues from State House Correspondents after yesterday’s meeting, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Rilwanu Lukman, declared that that the government of President Yar’Adua has since reversed the Obasanjo decision which upgraded the PTI to a University status because it was unnecessary.

He said “look, look, don’t give us that. That is the mistake which we have made, we have gone ahead and converted the polytechnic and the institution we need for the training of the manpower which we need in our oil industry and not only in the oil industry but also to universities. But everybody wants to obtain a university grade, it does not happen that way”.

According to him, “the people who run the economy of a country are not necessarily people with degrees from universities. This is why we give emphasis to the PTI to train people that we need. Our oil industries are suffering because we don’t have the right manpower.

And here you are talking about converting an institute which has been set up precisely to train people that we need into a university that will train people that we don’t need. How? Come on”.

Reacting to why the government decided to spend such sum on a fledging college in Kaduna at the expense of the ailing PTI in Warri, the Minister said “O, come on. Come on; the place I went to study at the Federal College of Science and Technology in London.

It is the biggest training ground for mining and petroleum engineers, and there is not a drop of oil in London. So the question of the location of the institution to train people is not necessarily a coincidence with where oil resources are.

“Having said that”, he continued, “the Petroleum Training Institute in Warri was set up in the middle of the people, where the bulk of the people who are going to be operating in the oil field come from.

The majority of the people are there, we have also in our local content provision ensure that people from the area where the oil is found are going to be predominate, as a matter of policy, in an employment opportunity.”

He explained that “of course, we cannot say that everybody employed in the oil and gas industry must come from the Niger-Delta region but the majority and the bulk of the people are going to, of course, come to the area. The Petroleum College in Kaduna is not going train everybody in the sector.

It is going to train managers, and without prejudice, it will have a high enough standard and people will from all over Africa will come and be trained. And the PTI Warri is training people from Angola, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe, but the bulk of this intake must be Nigerians. But we will make it possible for other nationals working with us in the industry to bring in students”.

On the government’s wisdom approving N14 billion for the building of a new office for PTDF a week after it approved N3.9 billion for the furnishing of the new office of Foreign affairs ministry, the minister said: “talking about the N14 billion cost for the construction of the PTDF office, if you want to build a three-bedroom flat you know what the price is.

Here you want more people to be trained in the oil gas industry and you don’t want the PTDF to have a befitting office, an agency that trains not only people in the oil and gas industry but for petroleum technology that we need in the oil and gas.

You don’t want them to have suitable office. What do you want to do? You want them to operate from a flat”? He queried.

It wouldn't cost you more than 100k to get a cool website and high quality pdf brochures with descriptions and high resolution pictures of the apartments.
100k is small money, compared to what an agent would make for selling just one property in VI.
