TravelRe: How Is Life As An Illigal Immigrant? In The Uk by PapaBrowne(m): 1:55am On Nov 19, 2007
Nigerians will keep leaving Nigeria in droves until Quality of life improves.
Money or the lack of it is not what is sending people out of Nigeria. It is the extremely low qualityof life vis a vis the high level of insecurity.

You can't compare the average nigerian life with that of an illegal nigerian overseas.
The only thing that you get to loose outside is your pride and dignity.

My advise is this: If you want to live overseas illegally(though not a good option), then leave Nigeria with a lot of money.
Think out of the box and provide a service, don't always be thinking Job,job, job.

There are services you can provide and make some healthy money.

Because really quality of life down here is way low. And believe me I've lived outside 4 a while & and trust me you can't compare!

Wonder why it has taken you so long to realize what vicjustice, troubleone & Armed Lion arehuh Good people, just that they singular!

Dantecmu:
Or did you go WIFE HUNTING? sorry o i was just asking o i mean no harm. i guess your breakthrough came in one of this countries like you said very few blacks in some of this countries and we all know what an AKATA would do for a black man.
.

You used the word Akata in a wrong context. It's the name we Nigerians call African Americans. And thats in The US alone.
TravelRe: Life In Various Foreign Countries: From My Experience by PapaBrowne(m): 10:42pm On Nov 18, 2007
Nice article, slightly informative with lots of holes in it. Lacks credibility though.

You didn't state the years you visited these countries, I believe it is way back in the nineties.

These are my own opinions about the countries you mentioned.

Czech Republic
Prague in Czech Republic, without doubt is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe second only to Paris. It is a magnet for loads of Americans, British and Irish folks.
The allure of the city is so great that I think I'd prefer to live in Prague than any of the major European cities.

If you would like to study in Europe, I'd reccomend Czech as there are more than enough American Universities you can attend and later on transfer to America with relative ease. And their schools are pretty cheap.
Some foreign Universities in Prague include:
Univesity of Nothern Virginia www.unva.edu
University of New York in Prague www.unyp.cz
DePaul University www.depaul.edu
Anglo American College www.aac.edu

Local Universities are free even for foreigners, but you will have 2 learn in their language.

Once again, Czech is a really beautiful country, really!!

Malta
Malta is Gorgeous and in my opinion, the best Holiday spot in Europe. And funnily they seem to love Nigerians and I don't know why.

It also has a marvellous weather and very beautiful seaside. If you like ancient ruins and antiquated history, you'll love it here. However, it is one heck of an expensive place.

This is one place I've set foot, that I've really fallen in Love with.

Greece
One place I've never liked. In my opinion, not a very interesting place except for maybe the Islands of Kreta and Korfu where you get to meet a trailer load of tourists.

On Nigerian's selling CDs etc in restaurants and the like in Greece and other European nations, its just a reflection of what goes on back home.

People hustle in such ways because of deep lack of knowledge compounded by a need to survive. If only they knew what God given right they had to excel anywhere on the planet, despite the odds, they wouldn't be victims of such scenarios.

Estonia
Estonia is a small but very gorgeous European country located in Northern Europe. Tucked in the Scandinavian belt around Norway, Sweden and Finland, the extreme prosperity of these countries have rubbed off positively on Estonia. Nice nice country.
TV/MoviesRe: Comparing DSTV And HiTV by PapaBrowne(m): 7:17pm On Nov 18, 2007
I think I luv what HiTV has done by striking hard to break the DSTV monopoly! The snatching of the premiership sounds like a David & Goliath story to me.It makes me proudly Nigerian.

However, knowing the nature and strength of the adversary(DSTV), haba, HiTV could have done much better with programming and stations.

Hence, 4 now, I'm keeping my DSTV and waiting patiently for good news from HiTV, thence I will gladly throw my DSTV in the trash can!

Till then, I can only support HiTV on forums like this but not with my "sweat and Go-slow" earned cash.
TravelRe: Does Any One Knows If Tinapa Has Been Opened To The Public ? by PapaBrowne(m): 12:07pm On Nov 13, 2007
Nautillus:
Tinapa is open and business has commenced so its open to the public,

The catch is that only halve is operational now, the otherhalf is still under construction but the open halve is more than big enough to fill your tourist enquiries

grin grin
Mr Nautilus:
Whence did thou get thy info. Has thou ever shopped at Tinapa or does thou knwest anyone who has>
I really don't think its open.
TravelRe: Does Any One Knows If Tinapa Has Been Opened To The Public ? by PapaBrowne(m): 9:01pm On Nov 12, 2007
I just read something on thisday today that federal government regulation as regards Tinapa's status as a free trade zone hasn't been properly defined and hence it's affecting investors that hitherto indicated interest as issues like customs excise duties, taxes etc would have to be settled before they open shop.

But 4 me I think the whole Tinapa & and Calabar project as a whole lost steam when Duke left office.
I hope the present Governor can bring it 2 life.

TravelRe: City Madness by PapaBrowne(m): 11:40pm On Oct 19, 2007
It amazes me tooo. I think its because there are too many people fighting for "seemingly limited" resources.

Too many people trying to get on the subway, bus or in a taxi at the same time.

Too many people trying to shop at the same mall, market or grocery store at the same time.

Too many peeps struggling for the same space, air and time all at the same moment.

It makes you feel like the guy standing next 2 u is competition!! So why listen, reply or smile at anybody when he might just be trying to outpace you!!

Its sub-conscious!

Anyways I'll always love big cities. They leave you with wonderful nostalgic memories!!

The smell, pace & buslte of NYC.
London's Eccentricity.
The stench, noise and arrogance of Lagos.

They do have character or so I think!!

TravelRe: My Experience At The American Embassy Abuja by PapaBrowne(m): 10:57pm On Oct 19, 2007
I think your comportment and coordination plays a major role in your success or failure at especially the American embassy.
Most V.Os play a psyche test on you, and as soon as you bungle it, it's over.

Anyways, keep trying, dreams do come true! You probably would make it - even this year.

The fact of the matter is if you are in control of that split moment of decision,,you are a winner.
So next time you pray, ask God to favor you in that moment of decision

BusinessRe: Dangote Flour And Price Of Bread by PapaBrowne(m): 3:53am On Sep 08, 2007
Nah, Price of wheat has gone up internationally due to bad whether in major producing nations.
Nigeria imports all its wheat, so naturally the price of flour went up and so did bread.
It has nothing 2 do with dangote!

TravelRe: Nigerians English Abroad by PapaBrowne(m): 11:36pm On Sep 06, 2007
Wetin una dey talk? Language is a tool of communication.English language is not an exception. It's purpose is not finesse, but communion.

If pidgin does the communication, fine!If very broken english helps you commune better, why not.

When in Paris or Budapest, you have to speak very broken english, if you want the guy at the grocery store to comprehend.

When in the midst of business executives trying to close a high profile deal, you can enjoy your dictionary english, if that would suit the scenario.

To say that Nigerians should now confine themselves to the legalism and machine-like perfection of Queen Elizabeth's gibberish because they are in a Foreign country is bunkussss!!

What happened to freedom of speech.Speak how you feel freest! Don't box yourself in.If na pidgin, patua or creole dey sweet 4 your mouth, ride on. Just don't use profane language!

However, speaking perfect english would most likely place you above your peers in most parts of the world.

TravelRe: Will U Get Off A Plane Is U Discover That 50% Of Ur Fellow Passangers Are Arabs? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:55am On Aug 14, 2007
Haba Acidrop! In the same way(prevention is better than cure) many whitefolks (aussies particularly) wouldn't enter the

same plane with 50% Africans for fear that they might be infected with HIV or some other disease by entering the same
plane.

I am sure you will be the first to scream and shout Racism.
TravelRe: Will U Get Off A Plane Is U Discover That 50% Of Ur Fellow Passangers Are Arabs? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:40am On Aug 14, 2007
If 50% of the plane is filled with Arabs, the plane is most likely safer than when there is just one terrorist.

The only reason I wouldn't like to be on that plane is because when we get to our destination(if not an Arab country)they would search us crazy!! Or maybe not since there would be much less focus on moi!

PoliticsRe: Is The Average Nigerian Fraudulent? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:39pm On Jul 13, 2007
If been fraudulent means the same thing as corrupt, then I think more than the average Nigerian is fraudulent.
But I'm pretty sure they have different meanings.

S type Jaguars are not that expensive.I have always wondered why.If you visit ebay, you'll find them 4 less than $8000.
You can get them at the repo auction 4 $3000 even cheaper.
I think Nigerians pay too much for everything, thats why they find the 1.6m so hard to swallow.
