This guy! Hilarious! |
landis:Way, way better! Visit friends and afterwards go stay in a hotel! |
Poland. . . . hmmmm. . . . Warsaw & Krakow! Nice places though. Just doesn't have the charm of Prague, Budapest or Vienna. Don't know why! |
@gadogado I like your drift especially with all the talk of Nigeria's global possibilities. But think of this, Imo State registered more JAMBITES than all the 19 Northern states together. When Nigeria becomes great as you hope, we would have a situation where there would be more Imoites in better jobs than all the Northerners put together.i don't think you goin' like that. Edo State probably produced more doctors than all the Northern states put together, there is be a problem! Lagos state collected more taxes than all the northern states put together, we've gat a problem! It is so pathethic that this scenario also reflects in sports. Not up to 10% of super eagles at any given time are northerners. Or check the whole squad going for the olympics. Few northerners! Pretty pathetic situation. Nah. Thats bad! So its not just oil. Its everything. Its like been stuck with a roomate that never pays rent at month end, never does dishes, never buys food for the flat, but wears the best clothes and and brings Ladies home almost everynite while you get to sleep on the couch. I Support the Unity of Nigeria. I love Jos, Kaduna, Taraba, Abuja and a whole lot of Northern states. And I've gat Northern friends home and abroad. But to be truthful, this system in itself is not sustainable. The northern elders are decieving themselves that the system as it is favours them. Thats nonsense because the results prove otherwise. The longer they hold on to those deceptions the more the rest of the country(reads South) advances both economically, ideologically and otherwise. Its time the Northern elite wakes up so we don't find ourselves in a situation like Korea, where the South Korea is the 11th richest economy in the world while North Korea is amongst 11th poorest countries outside Africa. |
As a rule, I don't use Air France. TOO MANY BAD STORIES. |
@Siena I understand why the poster asked that question. Googling it wouldn't have helped him. Usually, in August tickets from Nigeria are ridiculously expensive , so he must have been shocked at the price of $2500. The prices vary and he probably assumed that some Nairalander would know somewhere he could get it cheaper. Was a fair question, he just didn't explain properly. |
Cch3coo:I second that. A very rude awakening awaits the bobo and that is if he gets 2 leave 9ja. Besides, who said Black Americans have a better reputation. Majority still carry with them slavish mentality.Thats why it's taken an African(Obama) to be the first Black president. Asides, I think poster's got a huge sense of humor. He's gotta be kidding. |
I have always thought Lagos is way too expensive. Forbes has just confirmed it. Sqaulid, run down environments in Ikoyi,VI & Lekki charge like 50,000+ USD per annum for a two bedroom and request 2 years upfront.Hotels on the Island start from maybe 25k for the cheapest rooms. Way, way above what u get in LA.The interesting thing is how fast Lagos has climbed down the list from 96 in 2005 to 30 in 2008. Moscow tops the list of most expensive cities, with Tokyo; London; Oslo, Norway; and Seoul, South Korea following suit. New York is 15th, Lagos, 30th and Los Angeles, 50th. Read the Forbes article here http://www.forbes.com/2008/07/23/cities-expensive-world-forbeslife-cx_zg_0724expensivecities.html You can see the original list here http://www.citymayors.com/features/cost_survey.html or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_cities_for_expatriate_employees (The index is based on cost of living expressed in US dollars. Therefore, if the dollar weakens against the local currency of a city, the city becomes more expensive and moves up the index, even if prices expressed in local currency remain the same or even go down.)
vikiviko just spoiled my day. was about to do the same
@sammy107_dYou were about to do the same as in "drowning" or "swimmimg" in browne's beach?? Which one?? Abeg eh, don't do the same oh! Anyways, Barbados is marvellous. But how do you cope with the costs man?? The place is expensive.Everything is like thrice the cost of what obtains elsewhere. Its worth every penny though. Two crazy dreamzzzzz I have: One has to do with Barbados!! @Studying in Barbados VS Nigeria Universities It all depends on your career aspirations. If you are looking at an Oil & Gas related Masters Degree, studying in barbados wouldn't cut it at all, except the oil u are looking to drill is Cod liver oil. The hottest careers are in the Hospitality, Real Estate and Finance industry.Finance is really hot especially if you have an ACCA. So anything in this direction would be cool. But methinks, you can make anything possible anywhere, it all depends on you. As per Naija Universities, Hmmm! They've really produced excellent as well as inferior graduates. The proportion however, favoring inferiority maybe 2:10. |
e go hard oooh! |
landis:Somewher in the middle of the ocean btw America & Europe. That's why they've gat the Eurotunnel crossing! |
eeeh. . . . efe ? who dat ?Depends on if we look at Europe as a peoples or a continent. Actually UK & Ireland are not exactly in Europe. |
Vicjustice:aaah! I never knew Georgia has moved to the Middle east! That"s fast!! Early this year, they were located in Eastern Europe. I wish Nigeria can move too!! ![]() @poster need some quick bucks huh??No be so oooh! |
in Naija 4real? Where? Maybe McRolands or Mcdonells! But truly, we need either Mcdonalds or a BurgerKing in Naija or at worse KFC. Really! |
I love the size of the "Double Whooper" Big Mac!! And, whoa!, this beautiful lady is going to have a marvelous meal with family tonight. Don't you guys think it's high time we get a Mcdonald's in Nigeria ![]()

He he. . . . . very soon we would all be wishing Obasanjo was allowed a third term. I really miss OBJ, El-rufai and the rest of the marvelous team. |
I would have recommended sleeping pills, but if u take it before u get on the plane, u might probably sleep off at the departure lounge and miss your flight. Besides, i don't know if there are any medical implications of taking psychoactive pills while flying. But sincerely sleeping pills might do great. Most of my more interesting flights, I spent more than half the time sleeping. |
I'm not sure the best way but Western Union and Moneygram are the most popular with Nigerians. Exchange rate 1 USD= 120 Naira approx. 1 GBP= 235 Naira approx |
Oh, they have a specific page for the refusal stamp! Kai these British folks sef! As you said, I think he should just go ahead and apply and state it truly that he's been refused before. Asides. . . Funky, methinks you are so versed. . . . and adorably so! @Darkroll Seychelles must be marvelous. When is the low season? I was thinking of doing Barbados soonest, but I'm rethinking. . . Seychelles might be a better option. What would a moderate 3 weeks cost in low season? I abhor peak periods! |
The only thing I like about Italy is Lasagna!! And yes! the language. Nice pics .But they are too many!! I would recommend Flickr or Pbase or even Facebook! |
@Topic eeh. . . methinks this was quite easy! Get a visa of another country, maybe the the Swiss visa. Afterwards, he can go and apply 4 the British Visa. He should state on the form that he had been refused a visa before. They would have 2 assume that the the other visa (swiss or wherever) was superimposed on the refusal stamp. It's very unlikely they would bother asking "what happened to the stamp?" when he has already told the truth in his application form that he has been refused before. |
Hmmm Slovenia! Nice country no doubt. But those guys seem like the least friendliest Europeans. They seem cold to foreigners generally(Just a stereotype). Besides there is only one school that teaches in English! |
revenge:Wouldn't this be a perfect definition for narrow mindedness? Loads of Nigerians still need an education! Like life is all about hustling. Man, some folks go out 2 chill and Costa Rica is one of such real cool chilling spots. . . aiight? |
I agree with the topic fully. Didn't read the full article but the highlighted texts do make some sense. Every other race has some kind of tight-knitted, protectionist web binding and keeping them strong and together, promoting their own interests wherever possible. Only the black race can't work together.I see it changing soon though! |
There are loads of schools. visit findaschool.org |
`You are never supposed to send your originals. Get a very clear photocopy, possibly colored and certify it somewhere maybe Ministry of Education. |
Yeah, Tunde was madcow- I remember.Esi used 2 be the keeper right? Was fun! Anyways, One last clue! I lived on Bonny River Close in the Complex. This is my email grandislands@gmail.com. Holla! |
Price please! Thats the only way you'd get clients! |
@Gbeborun Wow! Now that's coincidental. At some point those two same kids were once my closest pals. Wow! Had a lot of friends though. If u used 2 play soccer, then try remember the kid that always scored offside goals- That"s me! Or the "fastest racer! @Lloydhill Ok, i don't know him. But I know lots of folks I could ask! |
gbeborun:Hmmm, thats interesting! Nice 2 meet on Nairaland after 18 yrs or so right? I hope i'd be able 2 place ur face! So let me guess. . . U would be . . . . . |
It's a crazy Irony and it just explains how wrong the world's system is! Poorer nations are much more accommodating towards refugees than the wealthier ones. See how accommodating Nigerians are: We employ all the "Republic du Nigerien" citizens. The authorities don't ask them 2 get a work permit in order to work as a mai guard, a shoe shiner or a suya seller. They just ply their trade- free of restrictions. No deportations, no harrassment , nothing! The westerners have a lot to learn 4rm us. |
vikiviko:You know, I remembered this song recently and I laughed! Who on earth formed that kind of creative jargon! Luvly song no doubt! Best thing about growing up in Naija- Christmas time!! All the killing of the goat, chicken and what have you,the food, the visitors, the christmas clothes, naaah,it was so kool! |
