So Auschwitz represents Christianity?

ROSSIKE: The Burj is NOT the only 7 star hotel in the world. There are scores of 7 star hotels in existence.
There is no official 7 star hotel anywhere in the world. The official rating for hotels uses a 5 star system. 7 star is just marketing jargon

Tassembly: Last year,i went to my gtb branch oba akran to make this inquiry ,all they were saying is 1million for startup, this year again in april,i went to 2 gtbanks,at ikeja and secetariat, they told me the same thing, pls throw more light about how you get gtb to buy half a million for you.
I'll be honest and admit I didnt go through the staff in my branch. I havent even had my GT account for up to 1 month so I guess I was lucky.

My sister told one of the GT corporate bankers from HQ that deals with the company she works for that she wanted to buy TBills and the chap just told us to send him an email with the request and that was it.

The N500k I bought 2 days ago was my second investment but the first through my own account. My initial investment 2 weeks ago was over N1M but was done through my sisters account in her name as my own GT account wasn't fully opened before the auction. So if I can do a first TBills transaction on a brand new account for half a million naira, I cant understand why they wont help you buy.

The guy even brought account opening forms to my house. I guess it is the Nigerian factor where HQ are willing to accept N500k investments yet a branch of the same bank refuses.

Nigerians must learn to complain. Send an email to their head office or phone their contact centre. Buying TBills shouldnt be reserved for the rich. I would have told you to try First Bank but those ones are useless. They only do 91 day bills

PoliticsRe: Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale Is The 2nd Woolwich Suspect by pappilo(m): 9:36am On May 24, 2013
I agree. this has nothing to do with Nigeria. I'm sure their parents (yoruba christians) have nothing to do with it. just bad peer socialization in British society I would say.
very bizarre incident.
These guys are 29 for Christ's sake! What have peers got to do with this. A 29 year old in Britain is a fully grown man and completely responsible for his actions. If you go looking for it, there is enough material out there in this internet age for a person to become self radicalised. This has nothing to do with their parents or peers. It is an unfortunate path they have chosen to take for reasons best know to them and only them should be held accountable, not Nigeria, not their parents, not their peers.

You can spin it all you like but while there is no justification for what these men have done, there is a direct correlation between their actions and Britain's imperialistic foreign policy. 2 weeks ago a video (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIEBH2Kln1U&feature=youtube_gdata_player) was widely circulated of a 'rebel' in Syria cutting out the internals of a Syrian soldier and biting on it. These 'rebels' are supported and funded by the West (http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/28/world/meast/syria-us-funds)to fight against Assad (the enemy of my enemy mantra). Where was the shock and outrage when a member of the West's proxy army in Syria(the FSA) carried out an atrocity just as evil as was witnessed in Woolwich?

Most people are happy to get on with life and blank these kind of atrocities from their thoughts but just as you have soldiers willing to die to 'protect' their country Britain, you have 'soldiers' willing to die to protect 'their' oppressed people in Muslim lands. The west provides the biggest tools used to radicalise young men like the 2 Michaels. What better way to radicalise a young and angry muslim man than show him a picture of 50 dead women and children killed at a wedding party (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedding_party_massacre) by a drone strike in Afghanistan/Iraq? Is the killing of women and children by NATO bombs in Afghanistan and Libya less worse than the murder of a serving soldier by 'Islamists' on the streets of London?

Unfortunately, this cycle of violence will continue until the West become the bigger brother, tone down their aggression and realise that an eye for an eye will leave us all blind.

Tassembly: I will like to know which is the best discount house to use for tbills, anyone have experience with meritrade and are they really discount house. Most banks accept from 1m above for tbills and only discount houses accept lower.since the fall of nse,i am really scared to lose a penny from this hard earned bejanmins. Advice is needed pls.if you have used meritrade in the past, let us know.
False. I bought Tbills worth N500,000 through GT Bank yesterday. Do not believe "dem say, dem say", go to your bank and tell them to give you more information about buying TBills. The more learned guys here have confirmed that banks will help buy TBills from N100,000 and above. It costs them nothing to help you buy as your application to buy will just form part of a combined bid. They will even make money off you, 0.125% + a possible 0.5% COT.

Ruq: I don't fuckin know.

This problem actually can be divided equally. When Nigerians see successful acts in the industry American or British. most times we try our best to claim they are Nigerians even if we know they were born and raised there, which is cray very cray i see no fuckin reason to claim Nationals that don't even see the existence of our country. it's not like they are half Nigerian/American or half whatever.

The thing is to actually stop claiming anyone who doesnt feel like being Nigerian itz fuckin pointless.

This guy aint even half Nigerian, he just a descendant of Nigerians.

Naija till i fuckin die.
Very true. Like they like to claim Chuka Umanah MP even though the guy doesnt give a rats a$$ about them

IF I PLANT THE SAME APPLE SEED IN NIGERIA WHAT WILL COME OUT ? AN APPLE. YOU ARE NOT WHERE YOU ARE BORN. THATS A PREPOSTEROUS CARNAL AND SHALLOW ASSERTION. WE ALL HAVE LINEAGES. JUST CUZ A CHINESE MAN IS BORN IN NIGERIA DOES NOT MEAN HE IS NIGERIAN
So Obama is Kenyan then.

It has just occurred to me that buying TBills is compliant with Islamic banking. When you buy TBills, you are not paid interest instead you are sold an instrument at a discounted rate for maturity at a future date.

I may be wrong but this is the way I interpret it. So any Muslim brothers or sisters in the house can also partake in buying TBills without contravening Islamic laws that forbid earning interest.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by pappilo(m): 7:20am On May 22, 2013
Seun: Your friend is mistaken. COT isn't charged on money used to buy fixed deposit because the money doesn't actually leave the bank, but it's charged for tbills because the money leaves the bank.
Why dont people just use their savings account then? No COT is charged on that.

No mate. 91 days minimum tenor for TB.

Desanta: When you use a savings account, you do not pay COT. No other charge apart from the commission of 0.125%. I use a savings account with FBN plc. All the best in you bid.
This looks to be correct. I havent been charged yet I beleive. And I used a savings account too. I am waiting till the end of the month to see if/what I'll be charged. Not sure if GT took their charges when they debited my account.

I was furious First Bank only offered 91 day bills and when I complained that their COT charges will be prohibitive if I kept rolling over 91 day bills, my friend who works there explained that COT wasnt charged on money leaving your account to buy securities, fixed deposit e.t.c.

I am neither muslim nor from the north. I dont even live in Nigeria. I just put across my opinion. Go and read up on the last battle of the Sri Lankan civil war.
PoliticsRe: 120 Boko-Haram Members Arrested During Burial Of Their Commander by pappilo(m): 4:06am On May 21, 2013
Pennywise: Actually the only solution to BH menace is a vigorous and decisive military campaign. We have had BH by other names in d past and we know what works. Your copy and paste theory from western media cannot apply here. And we did not need 'amnesty'.

Other than the obvious value of eliminating the hardcore elements a large campaign made particularly brutal and vicious will make it impossible for their leaders to recruit new foot soldiers financial inducement or promises of extra terrestrial rewards not withstanding. 4get the occasional headline, who want die? Its a tactic that worked to great effect during the military era. And it is the same pple and the same motivation.

Our soldiers should stop playing 'police'. They were not sent to make arrests. Feeding and catering to the soldiers alone is enuff burden on state resources. This is not the US. We need the money for weapons not to feed terrorists.
So you really believe that 120 able bodied boko haram members gathered in one place to administer burial rites for a nameless commander?

In the past, low level insurgency like the Maitasine of the 80s could be wiped out with brutal force but what you have failed to put into consideration is that boko haram are terrorists and the way they carry out their insurgency in this millennium has completely changed the rules of engagement. These terrorists are now affiliated with other terror groups worldwide and there is an endless supply of foreigners available to bolster their numbers.

Brutal force may work as was used to quell the long running Tamil resistance in Sri Lanka but such a move which involves the total annihilation on a people and their communities will put a serious dent in efforts to keep Nigeria one.

They dont have to ban it. Gay marriage doesnt exist in Nigeria and God help the Rep or Senator that moves the motion to adopt gay marriage.

Like you said, those are 'medically challenged people'. Are you then saying being gay is a medical condition?

Decryptor: And what has that got to do with the emphasis she placed on her comment? It's one thing to break a law that has been constituted like moving about during sanitation which you know you shouldn't and a totally different thing to be threatened with a jail sentence just because of what does not hold water like what this hypocritical indonesian authorities are barking about. I don't believe you made the above comment. Try saying something more sensible next time in defence of your religion
The law is the law. In Germany, Holocaust denial is a crime. I think it is stupid but if I ever find myself in Germany, I will obey the stupid law. Asking grown up people not to move around for hours one Saturday a month is also dumb but if I am in Lagos, I will obey this dumb law. If you live in Indonesia where blasphemy is illegal, you will do well to obey such a law.

This kind of news is pushed by the western media to further their agenda against islam and sow more seeds of hate to further divide people.
Car TalkRe: FRSC - Items You Must Have In Your Vehicle Always by pappilo(m): 3:36pm On May 15, 2013
obama4osama: It is highly commendable for a driver to have this listed especially the fan belt. I was travelling for my traditional marriage in Ondo state, family and friends were in the car on our way to Lagos, before embarking on that Journey the mechanic has done an extensive servicing of the car and he even changed the fan belt. I was at Owena when I discovered that the water in my radiator had wasted due to the fact that the fan belt cut suddenly and it affected the radiator.

My wife to be and her family had been calling and they were disturbed when they have not seen us as at 5pm,I regret what happen that day because I have to travelled down to Akure to get the specification, to get the matter worst I got it around N1000. It was not even the money but the stressed we passed through and the engagement was with a mixed feeling because we got there around 6:20pm in the evening.I hope you can learn from my lesson.
Not being rude but you have an old model car probably a 504 like Ikenna. If you drive a BMW X6 or Range Rover Sport like Yuzedo, having most of these items will be of no use as they cant be fitted at the roadside and the car will need to be towed to a garage (Coscharis).

Warning triangle (C-caution): Agree
Fire extinguisher: Shouldn't be compulsory but useful
Jack, Spare tyre and Wheel spanner: Some new cars e.g BMW have runflats and do not come equipped with these items.

Hydraulic: Dafuq is this?
Transmission fluid: Stupid
Torch light: Shouldn't be compulsory but useful
First aid kit: shouldn't be compulsory but useful
Spare fan belt: Stupid

With the list provided they might as well tell us to travel everywhere with our mechanic in the boot.

I was successful. I had given my banker a rate of 11.5% but I chickened out at the last minute and told him to go with the bank's rate which turned out to be 10.9

Not a bad result for my first go. My trip has been successful but very stressful. GT Bank is by miles the best bank in Nigeria and their staff among the best. I have exceeded my targets both in the exchange and discount rate and will be popping a bottle of Nectar Moet tonight to celebrate.

For anyone still with doubts, all I can say is go for it. I doubt if there is any better risk free 'investment' with such high returns out there.
