I was in Spain last week and I went into a FC Barcelona store with my young family to buy a football shirt for my son. The security guard started following us around and at one point was telling the store manager something and pointing at us. I became so nervous and upset as I was with my kids and hadnt had that kind if thing happen to me in a long time.

1: In a competitive work-place, you expect the young employees to aspire to positions at the Top-Level. It is a career incentive and a people-centric HR strategy. This way you maximize your human capital to an age range where the employee can dis-engaged and enter similar high-placed positions in other endeavors. You cannot have that much of a career plan at Age 30-40 applying for an entry-level job.

2: In most organizations (especially Financial Institutions), you are a Manager after 8-10 years work experience .. that is like 25-35 years of age. You cannot have a 35-40 year old man working under you and expect to drive him as you do other in-experienced hands under you. He may flare-up and start asking you how old you are, or can't you at least respect his grey hairs. such terse workplace situations are to be avoided. It is sad, but the economy does not favor older persons in place of younger ones especially when work demands you look up to one young brash manager.

3: Health Insurance is also a factor, Young means less likely to have ailments that affect us as we get older say from 30+ and above. It is a period where you can still instill some healthy habits and pay less on BUPA and other Health insurance schemes.

The Ghana rate (20-22%) is very attractive but the citizen requirement on the short term T-Bills would eliminate most of us on here (whom I expect are Nigerians). I also researched Ghana Tbills and was almost going to bite the bullet but I decided with my head and pulled out last minute.The value of the Ghanaian Cedi has been eroded drastically since the new Cedi was introduced in 2007 and if this devaluation trend continues (most likely will) it will be a complete waste of time investing in their Tbills.

In 2007 $1 = 0.92GHc and in 2012 it was $1 = 1.82 GHc (now it's $1 = 2GHc). If you invested 1000GHc in 2007 and rolled over and compounded it over 5 years at 20%PA, you will have had 2490GHc in 2012. Your original 1000GHc could get you $1085 in 2007. In 2012 your 2496GHc would have bought you $1368. In real terms, only a profit of $283 over 5 years i.e. true yield of 5% annually

To be honest a €600,000 house cant be a mansion unless it is in some remote part of nowhere city in France. You will struggle to find a decent 2 bedroom flat for €600,000 in decent parts of Paris. Bear in mind a 5 bedroom house in Lekki 1 is roughly the same price as this so called mansion (N125 million)

You definitely can invest less than N1 million. The attached was done with GT Bank in May. If you already have an account opened with one of the Banks and have a very proactive account officer you should be able to buy Tbills from abroad but in a country like Nigeria it will be extremely difficult. I went to Lagos in May specifically to buy Tbills and even with me on ground it was so so difficult. The saving grace was a wonderful banker from GT head office who took ownership of my case and made my trip successful. Even at that, the bulk of my Tbills purchase was done through my sister's account.

There were so many unexpected challenges. From banks telling you that you cant pay more than N500,000 into your account per day to some banks (First Bank) telling you they will only help buy 91 day bills at their own rate. You must be prepared.

My dad gave me a car in my second year in Uni. I sold the car after Uni and he topped the money up for me to buy another car. I didn't buy a new car instaed I changed the money to pounds and survived on it for my first 18 months in England.

I am just wondering why countries which impose the death penalty have more murders than countries which do not. The stats rubbish your claims that the death penalty acts as a deterrent and reduces the number of criminally minded people.

You probably see the death penalty as a tool for vengeance and I have nothing against that.
