PoliticsRe: Jigawa State Govt Bans Daily Trust Newspaper by Parnassuss(m): 4:14pm On May 26, 2011
I don't believe it. See dolts just posting about on NL, I think its time to start out the "Stamp Out Stupidity" campaign on NL! What's with all these totally imbecilic posts;
hillsate:
I have always talked about the bias and nonsensical reportage of news from daily trust newspaper. All they do is initiate or fuel crises with religious sentiments and it has become more of an islamic religion newspaper instead of a circular one. i will always remember their bias reportage of the jos crises.

I am glad today that a state government has banned their reporter from reporting in jigawa state. Pls i call on other state government to do same. Daily trust newspaper is a propaganda newspaper. Hardly seen a newspaper where all the staff are muslims including all the management.

This is a case of what goes around, comes around.
Congrats Governor lamido.

Sule Lamido is jus the man!!!!! grin smiley , he jus can't stand fake reports bout from his state! cool

PoliticsRe: UN's "3 Baby Plan" For Nigerian Families by Parnassuss(m): 6:07pm On May 25, 2011
truth is that many northern elites may not be too inclined to pursue the idea, with the belief that it might affect the edge that population gives to the north especially during voting. Also, if vaccination sparked such fear in the north (they said that the injection would mark male children sterile) then we may imagine what reactions such a critical issue would raise. In IBB's time, he said the state should officially recognize 4 children alone  but if parents want more kids, then thats their own kettle of fish. This is the policy in the Nigerian Army even today.
However, in truth without concrete social security structures, any such law is redundant. Also its not like the south is totally in support of this, in Benue for instance they pride themselves in keeping 'broods' of kids for whatever reason. I am of the belief however that this law is unnecessary though population explosion I don't believe in. Kinda like the rapture that never happens.

Average Nigerian my nyash hole. I am Nigeria and as average as they come but if any dunce tells me to go pick a gun for a bloody revolution I will must likely shoot the agitator than any corrupt Senator. If people cannot identify where revolutions are appropriate then there is no need to even discuss it.

I have often wonderd why no single Nigerian tv station has taken the time, resources etc to learn how to do animation properly. A simple concept would be to animate all the old Tales by Moonlight stories, with local centric animation and sell the rights/content to other African tv,sattelite stations, etc.
Dude, its been done. Lets just say you hit the nail squarely on the head with that one blow. The show is such garbage, roaches crawled out of it on live TV.

Lets see how GEJ handles it. However if there are so many 'choice' nominees then some of then must then make it through the proverbial arse-crack. undecided
But wait if a person is voted out of office, not just that the person loses a position that he/she has never held, is that not an indication that pple are unsatisfied with the quality of service that person delivered? Why then recycle? huh huh

PoliticsRe: Ribadu Moves To Kabul, Afghanistan To Fight Corruption by Parnassuss(m): 3:45pm On May 09, 2011
Gbawe:
The job was offered to him before the elections. Ribadu declined it back then because he wanted to "serve his nation".

In any case , this is proof , in anyone needed it , that the man is driven by the passion to do good and provide his services where most needed. A very profitable alternative would have been for Ribadu to be consultant of choice to the many companies operating or wanting to operate in Africa. Ribadu , as one of the top voices of anti-corruption in Africa, would make a fortune if engaged in the private sector !!! Yet he gets involved in Afghanistan because he believes that prevent the Country from failing is personally more rewarding than vast amounts of money in the bank.
Ribadu is the point man. I supported Buhari during the elections because I thought he stood a fighting chance against the PDP but ideally Ribadu is the best man(save Pat Utomi) who ran for President.

PoliticsRe: A 16 Year Old's Solution To Nigeria's Electoral Problems by Parnassuss(m): 1:32pm On Apr 27, 2011
I don't what the big fuss is about when we have an INEC that spent nearly a hundred billion to run this anti-climax of a show. If half that sum is expended on this scheme there's no reason y it shouldn't work. Rigging will occur in every election no matter where or how, the idea is to put it on the barest minimum.
PoliticsRe: Serious Riots In Wuse, Abuja & Mararaba by Parnassuss(m): 4:57pm On Apr 18, 2011
I just heard, what sparked the Wuse stampede was a foolish mistake made by some passers-by who saw a tied bag leather bag and thought it a bomb. People started fleeing indiscriminately and b4 long the thing had taken a life of its own. After police arrived they tore it open and found soup making ingredients, the bag's owner had been hiding lest she be hung by the frenzied and panicky crowd.

There is a lot of rumours everywhere. I dont blame the people because the fear of the illiterate Almajiri is becoming the beginning of wisdom. They can a waste life just at the instruction of a religious leader.
No body is fighting anybody in Abuja, but people are a bit scared of the violent frenzy among the CPC supporters and news from nearby Kaduna.

The FCT Police Commissioner has issued a number in case of any threat. You can alert the FCT Police on 080-615-819-38
I'm in Abuja too. The town is scanty, am at Utako now and the usually busy park is devoid of the signature touts, seems they shipped off somewhere. But the town is calm, skirmishes have been reported in satellite towns but they seem false too. Even hausa men are here with me, minding their heads so ease up people please.

Wow you creative word use must surprise the nursery class you teach.
@ reply; For those not in Kano who read the posts and are affected by it what do they do? That is why I don't support him terrorizing other innocent people for the crimes of a pathetic FEW. This is not merely the north's failure, it is the extension of the culmination of failure of the nation state as a whole. if past leaders (at state and federal levels) had done even a fraction of what they ought to have by the population, this could have been avoided. It is this penchant to build structures but not invest in people's capacities and intellect that will be the death of Nigeria. Truth be told, every man, woman and child out there rioting does so because of their situation and frustration. They will gain absolutely NOTHING exceptional from a northerner's rule as president, it is merely their orientation (which was left unchecked in the hands of fools) that makes them any different from either of us.

real4life:
The most painful thing is that they normally make promises and never deliver but at the end of the day nobody even challenges them.

Remember

1. Obasanjo of PDP promised constant electricity within 6 months. He not only failed to deliver but made the situation worse after spending Billions of $ in 8years.
2. In 12 years PDP governments have never arrested anyone for thousands of assassinations. But they will "soon" catch the culprits.
3. After 12 years they have refused to build refineries, PDP crooks are still importing fuel from abroad. But they will "soon" build many so don't worry.
4. After 12 years PDP is still planning how to create jobs for millions of unemployed graduates.
5. PDP government has destroyed NITEL and careers of thousands of employees because PDP crooks want to buy it cheaply.
6. PDP has destroyed all our industries and handed control of the economy to few of their sponsors.
7. Tony "Anini" of PDP stole over 300 Billion meant for road construction, but today he is still PDP Mr. Fix IT.
8. Omisore of PDP was prime suspect in murder case but he won senatorial election the same year under PDP umblella.
9. Bode George convicted criminal is PDP godfather of lagos state.
10. Halliburton report has been swept under Jonathans PDP bed.

Now 2011 they want you to vote PDP because Jonathan was not born rich. This time they are not even making any promises because it does not really matter.
Pataki:
Do I blame him?

When the likes of GEJ would send his wife and his cabinet Ministers to welcome this man from Kirikiri maximum prison, why would he not be talking today?

I blame we Nigerians, if we ever for once cannot decide to vote out this national disaster of a party. GEJ has not differentiated himself from the likes of Bode George and PDP!

for those condemning the nn24 debate because it is only available on dstv, you may wish to note these:
the nn24 debate was not available exclusively on nn24. it was available on other channels and if nta wanted, they could have hooked on to nn24
most people who can afford television sets, these days, don't bother with nta
even if they wanted to, there's practically no electricity to power it except for some who have generators
from south to north, from west to east, let's call a spade a spade and not a garden spoon, a huge number of people have lost confidence in anything that is govt owned or controlled. that's how i knew the nn24 debate would floor the stand up comedy of yesterday grin

To be fair to some Pastors, it is we the members of congregation who turn them to idols. It was same in d Bible. Many worshipped Christ and d disciples. Its a normal human response to people who do things we can't fathom. Some even equate oyibo man.

Truth is, I've heard many pastors preach against it bt how many people can u control wat they say and do outside church? In d end on judgement day, dere will be no excuse of it was my pastor that led me to worship him, to each his own. Do what u think n believe is right
True talk!
That said though, I don't support that what some billionaire play-boys AKA pastors do these days but lets face it, its cos the congregation lets them. How will YOU contribute to make someone a bloody Saudi-Prince and then defend him at every controversy (and God knows those guys have them). I think it is the absolute authority that is granted those preachers that's causes them to falter. Simply speaking, Nigerians should stop doing all that was listed by Wetu and Fesse, and we might just find that spiritual nirvana that we so crave!
Also what's the obsession with all these self-help books that only help the pastors themselves. I DETEST the BLW ferocious advertisements each time they come on air. Buy this book, it show you how to brush in a heavenly way, buy that C.D. it will inform you on how to not have you prayers diverted to voice mail! Absurd!!!
