obinnaifeoma:Can someone please explain to me why is it in every Nollywood movie Poster the actors/actresses are always opening their eyes wide. Dont get it. |
First of all before you insult someone make sure that you can read...what was my FIRST sentence....I don support any candidate. ROSSIKE: |
As I mentioned before I dont support any of the candidates, they are both not fit to run that country but truth be told if this were a beauty contest Buhari would win hands down. I mean its no contest his family (wife and daughters) look elegant. Im sorry I cant lie, Anytime I see Jonathan he seems to show inferiority complex. I have seen interviews with foreign reporters where he looks timid and even afraid ( ie UN was one)......... and his wife dont get me started. If someone told me to bet who she was by her actions ( speech and demeanor ) chairlady of the market union or First Lady, I swear to you I would bet all I have on chairlady. Does she not have a PR person? Anyway the saying goes you cant buy class you either have it or you dont. |
Personally I dont think that the answer is GEJ or Buhari. GEJ may have good intentions but he seems to lack leadership skills and truth be told corruption is at an all time high. Buhari apart from being too old to rule, doesnt have the unity factor going for him. He has made statements in the past that brings doubt to his real motives. On the schools built, that nice , but schools are not what is needed. Is the problem education or stimulating an environment that creates jobs for then when they come out. Have you seen the deplorable state of the federal universities we have now, some dont have running water and toilets and the sanitary level is better at some villages, not to talk about schools and what do we do....BUILD MORE. Just what I mean, no leadership skills. I also wonder how much was squandered since we all know that on the outside it sells to say what we have done but in the inner rooms its done because that were they can give contracts and eat. Shameful that a country with so much talent and potential, the only candidates we could bring forth are GEJ and Buhari. ![]() |
This is wonderful! Lets not refer to them as Deaf and Dumb, they are deaf NOT DUMB. This labeling is not used elsewhere and is quite offensive as dumb seems to refer to intelligence of which has NOTHING to do with hearing, just look at our politicians. On another note dont they look just lovely, the groom is looking confident and bride is stunning. May they be forever blessed. |
She is obese and obviously doesnt see the danger in this. If she continues she wont last another 5 years as her heart and arteries are under enourmous pressure. This is not beautiful its ignorance. |
We asked that they tell us the killers among them, they refused because they didnt want to betray their muslim brothers and sisters, now the chickens have come home to roost. When you protect a thieft at the end you are one who he will steal from. |
Everyday to my wife before I leave and when we go to bed, dont know if it will be the last words I get to say to her. Been married to that angel for 24 years and love her to bits, truly a blessing from the heavens. I call my mom every Friday cus she lives in the US and I live in europe so we have calls every Friday around 6pm and talk for like 2-4 hours and at the end I tell her I love her and she says the same. To me kids (23 son, 17 daughter, 16 son) anytime I feel like it but try to say it once a day. To my brothers, we are 5 and Im the oldest, the youngest is 34. When we speak or text tell them luv you bro dont forget that. Dont be afraid to say it, true story..... A man was travelling with his son via train. The train passes a burial place and the young boy asked his dad why all the flowers at the graves. The father replied to show they love and miss them, the boy answered but they are dead why not do it when they are alive. Dad give me my flowers now and I will do the same not when we are gone. My son said this to me when he was 5 years old and we were travelling through France. I never forgot it..................so NEVER be ashamed to tell the ones you love that you do to bits, it may be the last time you get to say it and the last time they get to hear it. Peace out! |
kilokeys:You may be good in mathmatics but you were not in economics. By the virtue of PPP (pricing power parity) you cant compare wages in one country due to many factors (ie cost of living, inflation etc). Also been living overseas my whole life I ddoubt if there are jobs that pay that amount more like minimum wage in the US and around EUR 5-7 in Europe. But I do agree that N8000 is low, I thought the minimum wage was N18000, probably public sector but should be made to include the private too. |
Let the bribery begin. |
This is a catch 22 development. In one way its good in that foreign investors will ensure an efficient and reliable service, though on the other hand its another form of colonization, which is a pity as our forefathers fought to get our freedom only for us to squander it because we dont have the discipline and fortitude to think ahead. The most ideal situation would be that the government is a PARTNER in this, but they will find a way to sell our birthright for pottage. Truly shameful. Do you know that infrastructure like this should not be bartered off as it will come back to haunt you. Who will control the price, how will we guard against a monopoly? But I guess these are stupid questions when one is only thinking about the kick back you will get when you give the contract. |
MrKnowitall: Man kills his girlfriend in cold blood...found not guilty. Man hits his wife in an elevator...loses everything. I don't understand this crazy world, this crazy perplexing world. In one case there was a camera in the other there wasnt, quite simple. |
Let me guess in true Nigerian fashion this POS of a VC is till alive in another job acting like nothing happened and the poor students who have died, did so in vain...Correct arent I. Why am I not surprised. ![]() |
Another means to feed corruption. Are additional states the answer to the issues we have? The creation of new states will only cost more money. Are the states we have now successfull. We are such a backward nation, where personal advantage outweighs national importance. |
There was a time I used to look at all that was wrong in Nigeria from crime to corruption and chaos and take solace in that at least we didnt have terrorism and bombings. I would look at other countries that had this inhumane phenomenon and think, this wont and cant happen in my Nigeria. I am saddened to say that I have been proved wrong. My troublesome yet PEACEFUL Nigeria has turned into a terrorists backyard making images I saw of war torn Gaza or Beirut look like childs play. We sat back Christian and mainly, o yes, Muslims and watched these harbingers of hate spread like a Cancer. I say o yes to Muslim brothers and sisters and say to a large extent you allowed this to happen. Because of blindness to a religious cause the majority of Muslims knew this was brewing but failed to name and shame their fellow Muslims. Little did you/we know that whats brewing was a deadly cocktail, so potent that its contents have now become poisonous. So true is the saying, IF ONE PROTECTS A THIEF EVENTUALLY AS HE HAS NO WHERE LEFT TO STEAL, HIS PROTECTOR BECOMES HIS VICTIM. I wont lie a part of me cries bitterly but also a part of me says and Im ashamed to say so, swallow what you caused. Not long ago the President (whom I don’t have very high regard for If I must be honest, as I find him slow and not fit to rule; give me a good leader I don’t care where he comes from north , south or west) wanted to place a curfew in certain areas of the North. There was a cry that the main intention was to kill northerners and this had nothing to do with fight this menace. One question, with bombs exploding left and right and body parts scattered too much to count so you still think so. My fear.....we may be to late. Dr Frankenstein meet the monster you created. |

PBundles: was replying till I see you meant wise instead of unwise OK |
was replying till I see you meant unwise OK ![]() tensor77: Then you are unwise. Speak for yourself. You think everyone is crazy about America. The answer is No I don't want to go to America. |
I applaud you achievements, but read carefully my point. Im not saying one cant make it to the contrary...Im just saying its NOT THE BEST COUNTRY TO LIVE IN. akpan123: pbundles. in response to your write up, l believe its all have to do with planning , l came to usa 5 years ago, after 3 years, l can say income wise. |
Actually good tips, with the exception of the below mentioned, I sincerely beg to differ! I have lived in the US in my younger years ( until 15) and go there regularly as all my younger ones are citizens by birth ( youngest is 30 eldest is 40)and live there. My mother is an American citizen ( via naturalization), but its not the greatest country in the world BY FAR. Dont get me wrong it has its advantages but greatest, please.... then you haven’t travelled. America is a place where if you have money you are someone, if you dont you will wallow in squalor. You do know that a lot of its infrastructure is either second rate or old ( California electricity grid from the 50s and 60s still; NY and NJ bridges very and some in other states have actually collapsed). The cars you mention are all leased and borrowed. Most cant offered them. Its all about keeping up with the Jones. Crime, give me a break. I lived in Newark where drive by shootings were a daily occurrence. Have you been to Dubai or some arab states or Asia ie Singapore. What about Bermuda with the highest GDP per head around US100k!. Have you been to Australia? Have you been to Europe, if not ask people who live in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, or Germany if they would trade places. The level of poverty in some urban cities is just like being in Nigeria. The US is just trying to get basic health insurance for their citizens something that most of these countries enjoy at a good price to say the least. Where the average American needs a second job, most Europeans dont have and want one. My daughter is in route to study medicine here and it will cost me no more than EUR 2000 MAX per year. The rest paid by government. Most deficits here max 3%. Have a look at the strength of the Euro even with the crisis. I work for an American company here and all my colleagues say the exact same thing when they come......we always thought the US was super UNTIL we travelled out. Less than 12% have a passport as many dont and cant travel. Have a look at the indexes produced each year that rate the level of life of the citizens, the US at times doesn’t even break the top 10. So the tips are good and yes the US is a good place, but not great and I believe that this is the biggest and most important tip that they should understand. It will also remove the pressure back home when they know its not what its cut out to be instead of them thinking one is in heaven. jakaiso: America is still the greatest country in the world. The things we struggle for in Nigeria are taken for granted here. Buying a car or cars, buying a house etc. Armed robbers are not holding your estate hostage going from house to house, policemen are not waiting for you on the road, NEPA is not taking off the light at will,a rich man is not slapping your face and telling you to do your worst, you dont need connections to get a job...... |
Thats not true. There are many colleges in the US that give graduate degrees. Boston College and Dartmouth Collgege ( Tuck MBA). Please dont post information which you havent verified. Thats how rumors get spread. joromi: Bros, I can only shake my head for you.... |
It would seem that if these banks that are to be liquidated were allowed and licensed to collect deposits from the general public, they would have had banking licenses via the CBN. As such an amount of your deposit would be guaranteed by the CBN and if you have proof you should be able to collect. Anything above the guarantee of CBN is most likely lost. I say most likely as each bank will have different liquidations proceedings which could yield something, but I sincerely doubt this. Success. |
Ok I get it I think, but ............Havent the politicians also broken the law with their year in year out looting. I mean really, is this woman and her coherts the reason why we are not suceeding, really roadside sellers. If he and the rest of the government went at those looters they way he is going at these guys we wont be in the situation we are in, but I guess its easy to push around poor folk knowing they can do squat. Why doeesnt he use the same vigor to get back the funds that Lucky I. looted the state, No heart now huh. Like you said, its just that plain and simple. pDude: [b]Stop selling on the streets and littering the roads with filth!! It is that simple!! The governor is only doing his job. The woman broke the law. Plain and simple. |

Just beacuse you havent been convicted doesnt mean your innocent, you just have never been caught. |
Based on your summation, its obvious you dont know how music intellectual property works. I own a music publishing company which supplies and licenses music to Film (Motion Picture), TV (MTV, VH1, CMT, all Cable networks etc) and Record Labels ( Young Money and Atlantic). I have been in this business for many years. My son owns his own record label. Its very easy to steal a song. Unknown to many the act of a copyright is once you create something, which makes it complicated. Hence people register a copyright, but by registering it doesn’t necessarily mean you did it first. In my experience I have seen this happen multiple times. An example ( this actually happened to us) a Record Label wants to hear a demo, you send it, they dont like it but in the process of playing it their inhouse producer hears it, likes elements and decides to use parts of it. From a legal point of view this is illegal, he is not allowed to use even ONE second without your permission, but it gets complicated since how can you prove this. The song Blurred Lines is a very good example. For anyone who knows music especially golden oldies like me, you would have picked up that this is actually the beat that Marvin Gaye used in Got to Give it Up. If you play the first 15-20 seconds you will think its Blurred Lines. This song was produced by Pharell and made by Thicke and TI. They are now in dispute with the trustees of Marvin Gayes copyrights about it. According to you then Pharell, Thicke and TI have also exposed their business foolishness. What possibly happened is that during his tenor with DJazzy, they may have worked on something. Since we all know that Wande Cool doesn’t produce music, Djazzy does, at least half of the ownership belongs to Djazzy. If this is so Djazzy is absolutely right in saying he should have been informed. Now this is the Nigerian scene so I dont know what more will come out of it, but if this were here, Wande would be in deep. Its pretty harsh accusing someone of foolishness, if the claimant has little knowledge about the subject matter. yunfazz: As written by Ms. Uduak Oduok who is an Entertainment Attorney |
Because maybe she has got dirt on mr President also.
My question?! Why is Mr President scared of sacking this woman after all the evidence of corruption filled against her?! Was it not the same president that laid off about 7 ministers sometime ago.
|
Thought Hyundai was Korean. And though the Equus may give the S a run for its money at the end its S all the way. There are many links comparing the two actually. The analogy on Toyota vs MB isnt true to me. I dont any ANY BACHELOR who given the chance and finance to buy either would choose a Toyota sorry. elektra80: How many times have u seen a lotus, Ferrari 312T, pagani zonda, McLaren, Tyrell p34, etc drive by... Because these are a few of F1 cars. So its very silly of u to ask how many Japanese cars have won the F1 when u know F1 cars are not street cars. I am not taking it away from German cars. They have come a long way and the brand that is Mercedes and BMW are respected. But believe it or not, Toyota have been getting better scores recently. In fact the Toyota brand has leap frogged Benz and BMW in the chat of top brands in 2013, u can google it urself. If they can be that, it means they are doing something right. |
It was like yesterday....the Bulagrian coach was bragging that Nigeria couldnt be his team, afterwards they had all those international stars. Then during the game, Yekini scored the opening goal and ran towards the net and let out a roar as he shook the net fiercly as if to say we are here, we are here. The image believe it or not has and will never leave me. Rest on, you are loved and respected, we the nation salute you and you will always be part of our history. Never forgotten.................. |
First of all being civil shows ones level of integrity, which you clearly dont seem to have. Judging that along with your use of the english language, I would be careful accusing another of not having brain cells. BTW, nice profile picture. I see you are happy and excited to be seated in airplane or as you would say areoplane. vire: becos the rich send their children to where ever means IBB is gay.....guy i am sure you have kunu in ur head instead of brain cells |
